"So why is this route called Bridgeway?" Crimson asked.

"To answer your question, this route used to have a massive bridge over it centuries past, done so for ease of travel from wild Pokémon. However, it would fall during the Meiji Era due to a natural disaster. Some of the chunks were used to crave a path which is why it's called Bridgeway, and you can see chunks of the old bridge scattered across the route." Dex Snow White explained.

"Well, that's a fine history lesson." Crimson remarked before seeing a trainer. "I'll be going to battle."

Crimson and the youngster locked eyes, it immediate to them both what the other wanted without words.

"I see the look in your eyes, you want the fight. Well bring it-"

"Calvin!"

Calvin groaned in annoyance as a preschooler came up, one with similar hair but tanner skin. Crimson was inwardly given that kid was clearly an Alolan kid but was wearing the RSE Youngster outfit with the colors swapped.

"What is it, Kazuki? I'm about to battle!" Calvin said.

"Can I join in?" Kazuki asked innocently as Calvin.

"It's not like we can make it a doub-"

"I'm down for a fight." May said as Calvin facepalmed.

"Yay!" Kazuki said, getting one of his Poké Balls in hand and flipping his head back. "It's fightin' time!"

"Ok, Hobbes. You're up!" Calvin said sending a Litten.

"Skitso, come out to play." Kazuki said sending out a Surskit.

"Akiko, the ball's in your court." Crimson said as his Mudkip emerged from her ball.

"Mayflower." May said, sending out her Phantump. "It's go time!"

"Hobbes, start off with Ember!" Calvin said as Hobbes spewed out flaming sparks.

Crimson had Akiko spew out boiling water with Scald which overtook the embers and got the Litten soaked.

"Skitso, help Hobbes out with Giga Drain." Kazuki said as Skitso glowed bright green.

"I don't think so! Mayflower, Giga Drain!"

Both fired their beams with Mayflower directing hers to clash into Skitso's to protect Akiko from getting her energy taken.

"Now's my chance to sweep them away!" Crimson thought before calling out Akiko to use Muddy Water.

With Mayflower floating in the air, Akiko glowed slightly before unleashing a brown wave of water that swept Skitso and Hobbes away. Skitso had mud on its body while the Litten down and out.

"Damn! Hobbes…" Calvin said before returning him in lieu of sending out a Poochyena. "Spiff, be my avenger!"

"Akiko, come on back." Crimson said as Akiko returned to his side. "Solomon, standby for the show!"

Solomon came out disguised as Hanzo to which Kazuki surprised everyone by having Skitso use Hydro Pump, of all moves.

"How?" Calvin asked.

"Dad says my Skitso was bred for battle!" Kazuki said as Solomon got hit which broke his Illusion. "Huh?"

"Fuck!" Solomon said shivering. "That's cold, asshole!"

"You're not a fire-type!" Skitso bellowed.

"Mayflower, return!" May said swapping her out for Kaori. "Kaori, it's your turn!"

Calvin had called for Spiff to tackle Solomon, but Crimson called for Solomon to use U-Turn which had Spiff get smacked with a super-effective Bug type move. A glowing Solomon turned into a shrinking ball of light green energy that returned turn back into his ball. Adhara promptly let herself out of her ball.

"Hydro Pump on the actual Torchic!" Kazuki called out.

"I don't think so. Kaori, Rock Tomb!" May said as Kaori let out howl.

Rocks rose up from the ground before smashing into Skitso. Crimson called for the coup de grace with Dazzling Gleam which nailed both Pokémon.

"Skits!" Kazuki said taking up Skitso. "Aw man."

Kazuki sent out his Seedot only to get roasted by Kaori giving Crimson and May the win.

"Ugh, how humiliating." Calvin said with a groan.

"I'm sorry, Dotsa. I failed you." Kazuki said disappointed as everyone returned their Pokémon.

"Yes!" May cheered.

"Excellent work, dear." Caroline cheerfully remarked.

[Music Ends]

"Aight, game's game." Calvin said, paying up for him and Kazuki. "But what's the funky looking GBA on your belt?"

"It's a PokéNav, custom made." Crimson clarified. "Got Trainer's Eye which is basically similar to Match Call."

"Is that so? Well then, I want your details. I'm not one to just take a loss laying down. A rematch is in your future." Calvin said as the two boys made the exchange of details.

Crimson looked at Calvin's profile seeing similar entry from the Games, but the trainer message different.

'The Gym Leaders are the stepping stones to mastery. That is my goal.'

"Ok, your profile loaded-damn!" Calvin said as everyone curiously peered over.

Black Dragon Crimson – Unknown – Unpredictable tactics with both brains and brown – Pokémon that flow with me – If you are coming at me, you better be in for a fight because I run with aura.

The profile image was of Crimson in the clothes he wore when he became Champion with Lance's cape and Daimonji sworn out.

"Well, that's quite an image." Crimson remarked.

"You're welcome." Dex Bulma stated.

"So cool!" Kazuki said.

"Well, expect a call in the future. Come on, Kaz…" Calvin said before leaving with Kazuki.

Crimson promptly healed up his Pokémon and found out that Hanzo gained a new move in Smokescreen. Amelia had gone off on her own getting into a battle with another trainer leaving the two on their own for a bit.

"Looks like Amelia's duking it out." May remarked.

"Leave her to it. So, any plans for capturing?" Crimson asked. "Because I don't think I have any in mind."

"I'm thinking about it. I could use a water type and there's a pool of water over there. Can I bor-"

"No, May. I don't have my Old Rod or my Good Rod. Just my Super Rod and considering it can pull in high level mons…it'd be a risk." Crimson admitted sheepishly.

"I'm back!" Amelia said coming up to them with Suzuki. "That battle was a snap."

[Cues: Pokémon ORAS OST – Team Magma Appears!]

The four of them went ahead only to see a Bug Catcher get punched in the jaw by Jenna. Said Bug Catcher was on the ground with two defeated Wurmple.

"That's it? You cheap-"

"Jenna, you got a lot of nerve picking on who can't fight back. Come fight someone who can." Crimson said confidently.

Jenna turned to them and smirked.

"Gladly. Especially with my new Pokémon, Scandal." Jenna said as a shiny Cranidos lumbered out.

"Cranidos, the Head Butt Pokémon. It was resurrected from an iron ball-like fossil. It downs prey with its headbutts. A lifelong jungle dweller from 100 million years ago, it would snap obstructing trees with headbutts." Dex Mulan stated.

"You have no idea how satisfying it is to hear that." May remarked.

"Why?" Caroline asked.

"Imagine being stuck with a region locked Dex." May said wistfully.

"Damn it. Either Mold Breaker or Sheer Force." Crimson thought before looking it's Dex. "Damn it. Level 10. If I'm going to take it down, I need to hit hard."

Before Crimson could step up, Amelia did so.

"Stand back, young master. I'll handle this." Amelia said before cracking her knuckles.

"Pfft…aw, is Little Orphan Annie going to fight me? Daddy Warbucks isn't here to back you up." Jenna said as Amelia sent out Tiangou.

"Growlithe?"

"So we must fight…I wished not to do so." Tiangou said as Scandal scowled.

"Sanctimonious little-"

"Iron Tail!"

Tiangou bashed Scandal right in the jaw with a swing of his now steel coated tail sending her into the dirt.

"Come on, get up! Run him over with Iron Head!"

Amelia had Tiangou use Dig to escape her attack. Jenna screamed for Scandal to use Ancient Power sending the glowing rocks down the hole. Amelia did not speak, and simply whistled while cracks formed under Scandal.

"Wait a sec-Oh fuck!"

Tiangou shot out of hole which right into Scandal's jaw as her own rocks came out of the hole. Amelia called for him to use Iron Tail to bait the rocks back to sender. Scandal found herself pelted with her own rocks before Tiangou landed on the ground. Jenna fumed seeing Scandal on the ground, unconscious.

"NO! Damn it!" Jenna wailed angrily.

"Ha!"

Allen the Bug Catcher got his laughs in before Jenna swapped Scandal out for Mephisto. Amelia sent out Suzuki to fight to which Jenna laughed at the choice.

"You must be dumb as bricks. Mephisto, bite the fuckin' gecko." Jenna said as Mephisto lunged at her.

"Shove your fist in it's mouth and use Thunder Punch." Amelia said calmly as Jenna and Mephisto's eyes widened.

"You want a bite? I don't have food but I got fruit punch!" Suzuki said as her fist electrocuted Mephisto's insides.

Mephisto coughed smoke before falling to the ground shaking from the effects of paralysis. Jenna called for him to get up.

"I can't feel my body!" Mephisto whined as Suzuki cracked her knuckles. "Aw…fuck."

"Brick Break." Amelia said, crossing her arms.

The last thing Mephisto saw because it went black for him was glowing fish coming down on him.

"Not again! I was on a hot streak." Jenna whined.

May helped Allen up as Jenna got away. Amelia helped to patch Suzuki's right hand up who she congratulated for a good job.

"You may have won, but I'll be back." Jenna said before fleeing once again.

"Punk." Crimson spat.

"Not going to go after her?" Amelia asked.

"No, it'd be a waste. And you did well…very well." Crimson said kindly.

"I wouldn't worry, she'll get what's coming to her." Caroline said.

"That was so cool how you turned her attack back on her." May raved.

"C'mon, let's go. We're burning daylight and I see another trainer I want to run the ones with." Crimson said confidently.

(A/N: Amelia may be a kind soul, but she's no slouch in the fight which I feel I had reminded the audience in a fun away. But that's 2-0 in our heroes' court. Now we get to Petalburg City at least. And here's a fun little detail for you for the next chapter. Norman's outfit will be the ORAS one while his RSE one will be his off-duty outfit.)
