I do not own My Hero Academia and Demon Slayer, this is a work of my imagination based on the 2 series.
Chapter 2: A New Beginning
When Izuku and Eraserhead arrived at the Aizawa household, they were greeted by two women. The first, a tall woman with wild, curly hair, had an exuberant smile and a playful tone.
"Shota! What took you so long?" Emi Aizawa, better known as Ms. Joke, exclaimed. "And who's this boy behind you?"
Before Shota could answer, a girl around Izuku's age, with short black hair and an energetic expression, rushed forward. "Papa!" she cried, leaping into Eraserhead's arms for a warm embrace.
Shota, his usual stoic demeanor softened by the sight of his daughter, gave a small smile. "This is Izuku," he said. "He hasn't eaten properly in days. I'm going to help him out."
Izuku, feeling out of place, followed Shota into the house. The warm, welcoming atmosphere was a stark contrast to the cold and lonely life he had been leading.
Within minutes, Emi placed a steaming bowl of katsudon in front of Izuku at the dinner table. "Eat up," she said with a soft smile, "It's the least we can do."
Izuku's eyes widened as he stared at the comforting dish. The savory smell made his stomach rumble. He took a bite, the rich, tender pork, and perfectly seasoned rice filling his senses. For a moment, he was overwhelmed, his hands shaking as he tried to steady himself. The warmth of the food, the first proper meal he'd had in years, hit him all at once. Before he knew it, his emotions broke free, and tears welled up in his eyes.
Aizawa and Emi exchanged worried glances, immediately sensing something was wrong. "Izuku?" Emi asked gently, her voice full of concern. "What's going on?"
Izuku struggled to speak, his voice shaking with emotion. "This is... the first real food I've had in five years. I've been eating nothing but rice balls... only rice balls..."
The Aizawa family fell silent. Shota's eyes hardened with anger as the weight of Izuku's words settled in. "What happened to you, kid?" he asked softly.
Izuku wiped his eyes, his voice barely above a whisper as he explained. "I've been on my own for so long... I didn't have anyone. My quirk... Demon... it's what kept me alive. It allows me to gain energy by sleeping, and it boosts my strength and speed—enough to match pro heroes."
Kaina, who had been listening quietly, broke down into tears. "How did you survive all that, Izuku? How did you make it?"
Izuku sniffed, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "I don't know... I just got used to it. I didn't know what else to do." He paused, his voice growing quieter. "But now... I don't have to do it alone anymore. Thank you for this meal."
As he finished the bowl of katsudon, Izuku stood up, his face pale. "I'll be on my way now. I appreciate the meal, but... I don't want to be a burden."
Shota stopped him before he could leave. "Izuku, where are you going?" he asked, his voice gentle yet firm. "Do you have anywhere to stay?"
Izuku hesitated. His eyes flickered with pain. "I... I don't have anywhere. I was planning to go live in a cave, somewhere in the forest. Then, maybe join the army?"
Shota's heart clenched. He walked over to Izuku, placing a hand on his shoulder. "How about you stay here for the night?" he suggested. "We can figure something out tomorrow. You don't have to be alone."
Izuku looked up, disbelief flooding his expression. "Really? You would do that... for someone like me?"
Shota smiled, a rare softness in his usually stoic face. "I don't see why not. You're not a burden, Izuku."
Before Shota could say anything else, Izuku lunged forward and hugged him tightly. Tears streamed down his face as he whispered, "Thank you... this is the kindest thing anyone's ever done for me."
Shota stood still for a moment, caught off guard by the rawness of the boy's emotions. He gave a slight nod, his voice calm yet comforting. "You're welcome, Izuku. You're safe here."
Emi led Izuku to the guest room, where a futon was set up for him. They had all agreed: after everything he'd been through, the least they could do was give him a proper place to rest.
For the first time in years, Izuku slept peacefully, the weight of his troubled past momentarily lifted. The warmth of the Aizawa family's kindness was all he needed to let his guard down and find some semblance of comfort.
The following morning, as the sun filtered through the curtains, the doorbell rang, and Shota went to answer it. Standing outside were two figures who immediately caught Izuku's attention.
"Shota! How have you been?" Nemuri Kayama, better known as Midnight, greeted him with a warm smile. "It's been too long since we visited!"
Next to her stood Rumi Usagiyama, or Mirko, the No. 4 Pro Hero, her hair tied back in a tight ponytail and a confident smile on her face. "We figured we'd stop by and check-in," Rumi added.
"Come on in," Shota invited them, his voice casual but warm. "Breakfast is almost ready, Emi's just finishing up."
As they entered, Izuku was making his way past the living room, a bowl of katsudon in hand. He paused when he saw the newcomers. "Good morning," he greeted them quietly, his voice still carrying the weight of the previous night's emotions.
"Morning," Nemuri said with a smile. "Is everything alright with you, kid?"
Izuku nodded, offering a shy smile. "Yes, thank you. Aizawa-san and Emi-san have been kind to me."
Shota spoke up, explaining Izuku's situation to Nemuri and Rumi. Both women were taken aback, their faces showing concern and disbelief at the boy's tragic story.
"Well, breakfast is ready!" Emi called from the kitchen, her voice cheerful. "Come on, everyone, let's eat."
At the table, Nemuri and Rumi exchanged a glance. It was clear they had come to a decision. After a moment of silence, Rumi spoke gently, her voice full of empathy. "Izuku... Aizawa told us what happened to you. No one should go through that, least of all a kid."
Nemuri smiled warmly. "I've been thinking about adopting a child. And it seems you could really use some help. What do you think? Would you consider becoming part of my family?"
Izuku's eyes widened, and for a moment, he was speechless. The weight of their words hit him like a tidal wave, and his vision blurred with tears. "R-really? You would do that... for someone like me?" he choked out, his voice breaking.
Rumi stood up and walked over to him, pulling him into a hug. "No one is useless, Izuku," she said softly. "No one is weak. You're a kind, strong boy, and you deserve to be loved. You're not alone anymore."
Nemuri, her voice just as tender, joined in the embrace. "We're here for you, kid. You have a family now."
Izuku's sobs grew louder as he clung to them, overwhelmed by their kindness. He repeatedly thanked them, his heart swelling with gratitude.
From that day forward, Izuku Kayama became a part of the Kayama family. Under the guidance of his new mother Nemuri and his Aunt Rumi (He found that the two heroines were very close friends, the inner hero-nerd in Izuku was extremely hyper), he trained relentlessly, using his Demon quirk to enhance his physical abilities to superhuman levels. Over time, his body grew stronger, his muscles more defined, and his combat skills honed to perfection.
As the months passed, he even started training at U.A. University, with his mother being part of the staff, alongside the principal Nezu and All Might, who were astonished by Izuku's raw power. All Might had joined the UA staff that year as he wanted to help train the future generations of heroes. Nezu, after reading Izuku's analysis on heroes, immediately declared he would be overseeing Izuku's education to enhance his talent.
Izuku would usually accompany his mother to UA and train in its numerous facilities, and All Might decided to help the young man, as he would gain teaching experience as well. The two were often seen discussing lesson plans, with Izuku having difficulty keeping in his laughter at some of All Might's ideas.
At one point, Izuku asked why All Might would befriend, let alone train a Demon out of everyone in UA, All Might just smiled his signature smile and said, "What defines a hero is not the quirk he wields, but the will that resides in their soul. You, Young Man, have the strongest of wills I have ever seen, and I wish to push you in the right direction. To become one of the greatest heroes of the modern age." Izuku, who no longer teared up at the smallest of things, shed several tears in happiness, having received these words from his long time idol. All Might, or as he introduced himself as Toshinori Yagi, helped Izuku refine his abilities and taught him how to control his quirk, ensuring that it would be a tool for justice, not destruction.
Izuku's appearance also began to change. He dyed his hair a dark purple color (Nemuri was happy about it), further refining his look, and began to carry himself with a newfound confidence.
In his Demon form, his presence was imposing enough to intimidate even the mighty All Might. His duality, the contrast between the charming, handsome man and the terrifying demonic force he could become, made him a unique and enigmatic figure in the hero world.
With the U.A. entrance exams just a month away, Izuku stood on the precipice of a new chapter in his life—one filled with hope, strength, and the promise of a brighter future. And this time, he wouldn't be facing it alone.
I hope you liked this rewrite of the second chapter. As you can see, I decided to write a bit more about how All Might and Izuku became close, as I always liked how All Might was like a father figure to Izuku and I wish to keep it in. Thought, it may end up more like a mentor-student relationship. I'll see how it goes.
Another thing I did was I made Rumi his aunt instead of a second mother. I honestly had no idea why I wrote that for the original but I don't it works all that well.
Thats it for my comments. Please review as it helps me with my story. Kudos!
