Hey! This chapter is definitely on the longer side for this story, so I hope you enjoy! :))
Also, I've been writing and posting chapter by chapter lately as opposed to writing a bunch and then posting gradually, so let me know what you think in the reviews! :))
Here's the chapter:
Run!
Harry and Hermione were running through the woods as they were being chased by Snatchers. They were moving around as they do, and got really unlucky to apparate real close to a Snatchers campsite. They tried to fight, but they were outnumbered, so they ran. They would still turn to the back and throw a spell or a curse at their hunters.
"Shit!" Harry stumbled on a tree branch and dropped his glasses. They kept running, but not for long.
"AHHH!" Hermione screamed. She stepped into a trap and now was hanging from a tree branch by her ankle.
"Hermione!" Harry ran towards her.
The Snatchers' thumps were getting closer.
"My wand," Hermione said, and pointed to the ground. "Give me my wand."
Harry couldn't see. It was dark, and the wand blended well with its background, and he did not have his glasses on.
"They're here!" They both heard the Snatchers shout, as they got closer.
"Harry you should run," Hermione said. "If you turn into Nibbles, you'll get away fast enough."
"I'm not leaving you here!" He insisted, as he sensed the ground for her wand. Then, finally, he found it, stood up and handed it to her.
"Thank you," she said, pointed her wand at his face, and…
"Fuck! What'd you do that for?!" He screamed in pain.
Then, they were captured.
"I told you my trap would work!" One of the Snatchers turned around and said to another, clearly proud of himself.
"Shut up!" A man Harry recognized as Fernir Greyback, the werewolf, walked up to them. "What do we have here?"
He looked closely at him, failing to recognize him. "What's your name?"
"Dudley," Harry uttered, unsure of what his plan was, before doubling down, "Vernon Dudley."
"Scabior!" Fenrir called aggressively and looked back.
"It's not on the list," Scabior said.
"Not on the list, huh?" Fenrir asked, getting even closer to Harry. "Say, Dudley, what are you doing in the woods?"
"Camping."
"Camping?" Fenrir repeated, "in this cold?"
"What cold?" Harry asked. It was February. It was most definitely cold.
"Greyback!" Someone called. Fenrir turned back. "We found these!"
Harry was able to make the shape of his glasses.
"These are mine," Harry said. Fenrir gestured to the other man to put Harry's glasses on for him, and he did.
"How about you?" Fenrir now turned to Hermione, "what's your-"
He started asking and then stopped.
"I know who you are," he said, "you're the mud blood with Harry Potter!"
"She actually prefers the term muggle born," Harry said, snarkily.
"Zip it!" Fernir paid no attention to him, as he got closer to Hermione. "Do you know where he is?"
"No," Hermione said.
"You're lying," Fenrir said, then he turned to Harry. "Is that him?"
"No," Hermione said, "he told you! He's Vernon Dudley."
"What do you take me for, an idiot?" Fenrir said, angrily. "We're not taking them to the ministry."
"What are we gonna do then?" Scabior asked.
"We're gonna take them to the Dark Lord directly," Fenrir said. "I'm sure he'll be interested to meet you, Dudley Vernon."
"You heard him," Scabior called, and then they all disapparated away, bringing Harry and Hermione with them.
Harry recognized his new surroundings.
"Shit!"
"What?" Hermione asked. Of course. She's never been.
"This is Malfoy Manor," Harry said.
"Really?" Hermione asked, annoyed, "you're worried about seeing your ex now?"
The Snatchers walked them up to the gate. Fenrir Greyback shook the gate, somewhat aggressively. In response, they heard a voice, which Harry recognized as Bellatrix Lestrange.
"Who is this? What do you want?"
"We have Potter!" Greyback said, triumphantly.
Out of nowhere, Bellatrix Lestrange appeared behind the gate.
"Show me!" She commanded.
Harry was pushed towards the gate.
"He doesn't look like him," Bellatrix said.
"The girl did something to his face," Greyback insisted, directing Bellatrix's attention to Hermione.
"Her I know," she said, "the mud blood!"
"She actually prefers-"
"Shut up, Scabior!" Greyback said, aggressively.
"Bring them in," Bellatrix said, and led them all towards the mansion. They walked through the garden, then the entrance hall, up the stairs, and all the way into the dining room, which was as huge as Harry remembers it, but a lot emptier.
"Draco!" Bellatrix called, "someone get Draco! Now!" She yelled.
"Bellatrix," Lucius came running, "is it him? Did we get him?"
"Umm, you got nothing Luci!" Greyback snarked, "WE got him!"
Lucius ignored him.
"We'll find out." Bellatrix said, before yelling again. "Draco! Get your ass over here!"
There he was, Draco. He came from the door which Harry knew led to the corridor leading to his room. Still looking as healthy as he did back in the ministry.
"Draco, dear," Bellatrix said, "come take a look at our visitors."
When Draco looked towards them, his eyes widened.
"You recognize them, don't you?" Bellatrix asked, eagerly. "Is this Potter?"
"I- I-" Draco stuttered, "I can't tell."
"Take a closer look," she pushed him towards them. He stumbled, and almost fell, but regained his balance.
Draco walked up to him, getting a closer look. From up close, Harry could see the bags under Draco's eyes. He was still not getting enough sleep. Why does he care?! Draco could die for all he cares. Draco seemed a little puzzled, but Harry knows he recognized him.
"What happened to you?" Draco whispered.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Harry whispered back, hostilely.
"Sorry."
Draco turned around.
"It's not him," Draco announced.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm pretty sure," Draco said, "I would recognize him if it were."
"Right," Greyback said, "do you miss your little boyfriend?"
"Shut up, Greyback!" Bellatrix barked, and Greyback fell in line. "Are you certain?" She turned to Draco and asked again.
Draco nodded.
"Fine!" She huffed, and then turned to Hermione, "you probably know where your dear friend Potter is, don't you?"
"No," Hermione said, "and I wouldn't tell you if I did."
"Have it your way, then." She said, and walked up to her, "take the other one to the basement."
Harry was dragged away. He watched as Bellatrix prepared to torture Hermione, and once he made it to the basement, he could hear Hermione screaming.
"Who is this?" Harry heard a voice come from behind him. He turned around.
The voice was Ollivander's, but Harry recognized someone else in there.
"Luna? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, hey Harry!" She said, unbothered.
"Harry? As in Harry Potter?" Ollivander asked.
"That's not Harry Potter," the third occupant said, a goblin.
"Wait," Harry said, "how did you know?"
"I could sense your aura!" She said, and closed her eyes as if she was meditating.
"Is it actually you?" Ollivander asked, hopeful.
"Sshh!" Harry shushed them. "I need to get out of here. I need to go save my friend."
"Harry," a voice came from behind him. He jumped, then turned around.
"What do you want?"
"Listen," Draco said, "I know I have a lot to explain."
"You think?"
"But let's get you out of here, first."
"I'm not leaving without Hermione," he said.
"Do you really think I would leave her behind?" Draco asked offended.
"I don't know what to think anymore," Harry retorted.
"Your aura is tense," Luna sensed.
"She's a genius this one," the goblin said, sarcastically.
"And all of them," Harry said.
"What?"
"We're also rescuing them," Harry insisted.
"Okay," Draco agreed.
"Okay." Harry ran out of objections.
"Dobby!" Draco whispered.
"Yes, sir?" Dobby appeared out of thin air.
"Take the three of them to a safe place," Draco instructed.
"Where?" Dobby asked.
"Take them to Aunt Andromeda," Draco said, "and come back for us."
"Yes, sir." Dobby said, and followed orders.
"I'm gonna give you your wand now," Draco turned to Harry, once everyone was gone, "but I need to know you won't hurt me."
That's fair. The last time they saw each other Harry stunned him, and the time before he punched him.
"How do I trust you?" Harry asked.
"You don't," Draco said, "but you don't have many other options, do you?"
"Okay," Harry reluctantly agreed, "I won't hurt you."
Draco gave him his wand.
"Now, follow me."
"Wait," Harry stopped him, Draco turned back, "what's the plan?"
"Hermione is being tortured as we speak," Draco said, "we don't need a plan."
"Do they know you're helping us escape?"
"Not yet," Draco answered.
"Then, maybe we should use that."
"How?"
"Bring me up and tell them I'm me," Harry said.
"Are you insane? They'll summon the Dark Lord immediately."
"That'll distract them from Hermione," Harry said, "then, you can give her her wand and we'll actually have a fighting chance while Dobby gets here."
"Are you sure?" Draco asked.
"Yes," Harry affirmed.
So, Draco held him aggressively, and dragged him out of the basement.
"I was wrong, it's him!" Draco announced, as he dragged Harry out of the basement.
All eyes turned to him.
"Whatever spell was on his face is wearing off," Draco explained, before asserting: "it's him!"
"I'll summon the Dark Lor-" Lucius started saying.
"Don't you even think about it!" Bellatrix stopped him. "I'm summoning him!"
"Why should either of you do it?" Greyback objected. "I wanna do it."
"How will you do it, genius?" Bellatrix retorted, "you don't have the mark."
"This is my house!" Lucius said, "I will summon him."
"Stupefy!" Hermione stunned Greyback.
They all turned around now, but another stunning spell was already underway.
"Stupefy!" Draco stunned Lucius.
"Draco!" Bellatrix yelled, "what do you think you're doing?"
"What does it seem like I'm doing, Aunt Bella?" Draco asked, pointing his wand at her.
She raised her wand, ready to curse him.
"Expelliarmus!" Harry disarmed her from behind.
"You're outnumbered," Harry said.
"No, I'm not!" Bellatrix said, then raised her sleeve, and touched her Dark Mark. "He'll be here soon." She laughed maniacally.
Then they heard a creaking noise coming from above. Bellatrix looked up to see a chandelier falling over her head. It was Dobby's doing. She jumped out of the way just in time. Harry used the chance to run towards Hermione and Draco
"Dobby!" Draco called.
"I'm coming, sir." He ran towards them. "Take my hand."
All three held Dobby's hands. It was time to go, but Bellatrix is not giving up easily. She threw a knife at them. Harry watched as the knife flew in their direction one second, and then the next, they were out of there.
