Chapter 12: Complications Time, Second Period

"Hahaha! Oh look Karasuma! Your star pupil, look at him! And don't you look intimidating, small fry!" The lumbering oaf that pretended to be a teacher and parent taunted and teased.

"How dare you do that to San!" I hissed. My body was heating up intensely as my vision went red. If it wasn't for San's beaten body on the ground I probably would have lost control and just taken this asshole's life, consequences be damned.

"Me? That was all you, shrimp…" His laughter rang out, uncaring. "How about you? Now that you've left your 'precious brother' a lump of his former self, why don't you just give up? After all…" He reached down and grabbed San by the head. "I hold all the power! Don't I, Karasuma?!"
"Sir, testing has been going well… The test subject has shown remarkable results…" The first four years of my life were hell for my mother and me. I never knew my father, to be honest I couldn't tell you if he actually exists.
"Listen here, guinea pig!" I had just finished a daily 'trial run' for my mother's captors. For four grueling years, we were held against our will for the financial benefit of monsters that could barely be seen as people. I was the first 'living success' so they were gonna get their money's worth out of me. My mother was their bargaining chip… Whenever I would even attempt to disobey they would hold her over me.
"Again, guinea pig!" Several dummies were placed around me and I would swiftly dispose of them. Occasionally the higher-ups would throw live creatures such as pigs, cows or wolves into the ring to test my stronger abilities.
"Not fast enough, guinea pig!" Whenever they'd want to run 'field tests' on me they'd hold my mother at knife's edge by her hair and then snap a metal band around my neck that they could send electricity in 'to fix my defiance.' I'm still haunted by the laughs of the lead scientist as he pushed a four-year old to kill or be killed.

I rushed with speed just slightly slower than that of 'Harpy', I swung my new body weight around as I maneuvered my new tail that had become the lower half of my body, around San, and with an audible point of impact I had our faux teacher gasping for his next breath. With a quick flex as I sprung off from his chest, I wrapped myself around his arm and squeezed… I could hear the popping of bone being dislocated. Normally I would have winced at the unsettling sound, but for some primal reason that I could only account to this new form; I smiled upon hearing the sound as Takaoka whimpered from the pain.

"H-Hey Runt! You don't want to do this! Remember who I have in my hand!" The corrupt instructor tried to regain leverage over me as I heard the groans of a barely conscious San weakly sputter out. I snapped and found myself biting Takaoka's upper arm. The taste was terrible as I felt my teeth pierce his skin through his shirt. I heard a thud as he yelped out in pain. The taste still reeling in my mouth, had me feeling like I was gonna hurl. I held it in my mouth as the feeling got increasingly hot.
I looked around, through the corner of my eye I was able to tell that the thud from earlier was San's beaten body hitting the ground. "SA-" A torrent of red flames burst out from my mouth, lighting the brute's arm aflame.

"What the hell are you?!" He yelped in disbelief as I was flung from his arm and he quickly patted it down.
"I don't think I'm a fan of you… Seems your inside is just as vile as your outside." I said, though I was acting confident I also could tell that control this form was taking a heavy toll on my stamina. "Y-you may call yourself the group dad… but San… He's my family!" I rushed at Takaoka once again."MY MOMMY!" Alarms were blaring, the whole place was loud and scary.
"Calm down, guinea pig! You wouldn't want anything to happen to your precious mother, now would you?" The head researcher held my mother by the hair with a knife held above her neck. "Learn your place brat! You are my tool! You aren't a person, you have no identity, you don't exist except to do MY bidding."
I spat at him, a small bit of embers escaped my lips and burnt his hand as he dropped the knife in response.
"Ayyee!" The knife landed in my mom's arm and her flailing along with the researcher's loosened grip allowed her to knock him off balance. I swiftly leapt on top of him and started to slash into his chest. I wanted him dead for harming my mom. Mom pulled me away as I began to feel sleepy and as she carried me in her good arm and weakly carried the knife in the arm that had been stabbed, I lost consciousness.
"No…" I felt weary, my grip holding him as I let the flames escape my mouth. I was flung from his arm as I felt my rage begin to fade and with it my red-eyed form. Feelings similar to the day when that guardian of my other fake family used that strange pink light on me.
"Ame…" San reached his arm out towards me.
"All that bravado these so-called siblings boast… and yet here they are I'm barely even winded. THIS IS YOUR BEST KARASUMA!" He laughed triumphantly though the burn mark on his arm showed that he was not being entirely truthful.
"I'm… Not… Done…" I closed my eyes and shook my head as I took my Yuki-Onna form… My vision was going in and out, but with my improved vision I could tell that even he was nervous about the change in atmosphere as my fog filled the field. I put all of my remaining strength into my hands, extending my claws I leapt at him through the mist.
"AAAAAAGH!" His yelps in pain were all I needed to know I hit my mark as I collapsed. The fog disappeared, and he stood triumphant over me, laughing but with two bloodied claw marks torn into his shoulders. "You done yet, runt? How about you, Karasuma? Koro-Sensei?"
Without missing a beat, Karasuma-sensei picked up the knife that Takaoka had placed in the initial challenge.
"TAKAOKA!" I could see the shock, if not abject horror on both our teacher's and our assailant's face… Not to mention our entire class, as a boy they deemed too weak to continue was once again on his feet screaming the name of the person he hated. He was beaten, stumbling to stand, yet still glared all the more with intense rage.
"Ha! You think you frighten me! You can barely stand, bucko!" It was true San was gripping his arm as Takaoka stood over me looking at San, uncaringly.
"I'm not in any condition to continue, you're not wrong. I admit defeat, but touch one hair further on my sister's head and I swear I'LL KILL YOU!"
"That… goes for me… too!" I stumbled to my feet.
"Kids! Enough!" Karasuma-Sensei pleaded. "Nagisa." He handed Nagisa the knife. "You're up!" Our teacher said, much to Nagisa and Takaoka's surprise.
"Wait, are you kidding?!" Maehara gasped in disbelief.
"We'll help too!" Rio shouted. Hina, Tomo, and Kiko nodded in agreement.
"No!" San yelled at them. "Let, Karasuma-Sensei speak."
"San!" Rio reached her hand towards him as he collapsed again, Hina and Tomo ran over to him. Rio and Kiko ran over to me and held me up.
"Thank you, Shuri…" Karasuma-sensei nodded, giving his pupil a nod of acknowledgement. "In my eyes we're all fellow soldiers are a mission to save Earth from destruction. Whatever our differences are, we share that goal. The least you kids deserve for being put in this situation is my respect. I may not be much of a father figure, but I appreciate your dilemma." I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "So if you don't feel comfortable you don't have to take up the knife." Nagisa looked unsure for the moment.
"Give me the kni-"
"Sis!" I could hear San yelling into the dirt.
"Our duty as teachers is to prepare you for life. Not force you into it kicking and screaming."
"Daughter! What have you done?!" My mother was staring down at me. My hands were covered in blood, not my own. A severed leg lay but a few feet from me as would its owner.
"M-Mommy, I-I-I can- I can fix it, Mommy!" I had lost control of my red-eyed form, just like I had done in the lab. "M-Mr. Lovro! I-I'll fix him, Mommy!" I grabbed his severed leg and held it against the open wound. I controlled the flames out of my mouth and burned his leg to the wound.
"That won't solve the problem, daughter!" My mother warned me, "The damage is done…" She looked at me with disgust.

"I'm sorry Mr. Lovro!" I said through tears. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
"Ame!" My mother shouted at me. "Hold yourself accountable! That form is a danger to yourself and others. You harm indiscriminately… That is not what we as assassins do." She looked down at Lovro. "Now Lovro… Shall we get you to someplace where your leg can be further treated?" She then looked to the corner of the room. "Boys… Help Lovro to the car. I have to check in on Irina…" Three men came to help Lovro and carried him to his car. My mother rubbed a burn scar on the back of her left hand. "Daughter… Until you have learned the value of what we do… I ban you from ever taking that form again. Find something worth protecting."
"I'm your guy!" Nagisa stood, unshaken as he stared down Takaoka.
"Oh c'mon! This twig? Eyes must be going in your old age," Takaoka gloated. "The invalid sure, if he doesn't end up a pile of bones… The girl was some type of known assassin right? This brat…? Tell you what kid, I'll do you a favor… we'll go back to what I said before… You graze my aura… I walk away and admit Karasuma's right…" His overconfidence was beaming.
An ever looming of worrying hush fell over the crowd. "Think Nagisa will get anywhere near him?" Sugaya asked.
"I don't think so… guy's a pro… just look what he did to Shuri…" Kimura answered. "Hell how would you do with a real knife?"
"Ready when you are!" Takaoka said, with a threatening grin plastered over his face.
Nagisa didn't look nearly as confident as Takaoka… He had a stunned, troubled look on his face. "NAGISA! You got this!" San's surprise words, followed by a thumbs up, shook Nagisa's nervousness from him. Nagisa's face turned to a subtle smile as he began to approach Takaoka. He bumped into Takaoka's arm as if pretending not to notice him… and with a new found fierceness… The knife just missed the tip of the brute's nose as he flung himself back instinctively. Effortlessly, using the force of Takaoka's off-balance momentum against him, the blue-haired snake pulled down the formerly ferocious father phony onto the ground under the blade. Nagisa sat triumphantly behind Takaoka with a blade to his neck. "Looks like I win!" Nagisa declared, much to the shock of everyone with eyes on him.

"He… he did it!" I exclaimed excitedly, feeling my knees give out from beneath me.

"Nuh-uh! You're not going nowhere!" Rio put an arm behind my back. "Not my badass warrior princess! Good job babe!" A reassuring nod and a pat on the back signified Kiko's support as well.

"Oh wait a second… Was I supposed to use the back of my knife?" The calm collectiveness of the assassin Nagisa quickly left his face, as our tentacled teacher removed the knife from his grasp, and proceeded to enjoy a high-iron snack.

"I'll take that, thank you. Game, set, and match… and while I wish it wasn't at the expense of one of my students, there's nothing we can do about that for now." He looked over to my brother's mentor. "Karasuma-Sensei…" He said with faux disappointment, "Outrageous! While I'll give you credit for allowing one of our students a means to test her self-imposed limits, giving another one a real knife? He could have been hurt, or worse, like Shuri."

"I'm f-" San attempted to sit up assisted by Hina and Tomo. "Fine… owww…!" He fell over.

"Not according to the medical software you programmed me with Onii-sama! At this rate you'll be lucky to heal before the summer is out!" Ritsu said from his phone.

"San, for such a genius… you're an idiot, you know that?" Rio sighed.

"I had faith in my sister… and Nagisa, of course… is that such a bad thing?" He asked from his spot, Hina laying his head in her lap… though after his comment she looked to be fairly annoyed at him as she puffed out her cheeks in frustration.

"We're going to talk about this when we get home… That goes for you too, Ame… What you both did was entirely too reckless…" Hina shook her head. "Nagisa though…" Nagisa blushed.

The rest of the class that wasn't tending to my brother and I surrounded Nagisa and started singing his deserved praises… I myself had come to see Nagisa in a new light… This was the reason Lovro had taken him as a student. The kid had all the talent of a natural assassin.

"Nagisa!" I shouted out to him.

"Yeah Sasu?" He responded with a smile.

"For the midterm… You and me!" I smiled confidently.

"Wait… Why me?" He asked, a completely befuddled look on his face.

"No holding back, ya got me! Go all out! Now that I've seen what you're capable of I wanna see you go…" My vision started to blur… "All…" I found it hard to keep myself up. "Out…" I collapsed.

"Mommy! Your hand!" My mom has just come home from a mission overseas, her hand was broken in several places, much like Lovro's business in recent years. Usually I saw the blonde and the three stooges stop by to visit our teacher whenever they came back, and Mom had taken most of his direct assignments on herself, at this point I had been given some assignments of my own.

At just eight years old I had killed over 30 people… which would do a number on any child at any age but it was the only life I had ever known and Lovro understood that.

"Should that be any concern of yours, daughter?" Rarely would Mom address me by name. Maybe it was because I was forced upon her by the scientists. Maybe it was because she was frightened how I was forced into a life she chose for herself. In the end, I lied to myself and said I didn't care, after all, she was my mom.

"I learned something new Mommy, let me show you!" I told her excitedly as I reached for her wrist. I could hear her wincing in pain, and she began to recoil as my eyes began to glow.

"Daughter! What are you doing taking that form?" She said disgustedly. Being eight years old and greatly excited for something I had found out I could do, I lit my mom's hand on fire with a set of yellow flames. "What are you doing?!" She screamed, as she slapped me across the face with the hand that was thought to be broken and currently covered in flames. "I told you not to take that form again! Go to your room!" The flames that were normally an orangish-reddish hue were instead a yellow shade. As I turned to head back to my room in sadness, I watched as my mother washed her hand. As the flames were doused, we all looked at her hand in stunned silence as it had been fully healed from its mangled like state.
"I got it!" I sat up with a start.
"Ame, not so fast!" Hina wrapped her arms around me, as I found myself once again in the infirmary.
"Hina, where's my brother?" I asked her as I looked frantically.
"Heh, Here sis…" He said with a laugh, as he stuck his thumb up from the bed next to me. Without even thinking my red-eyes began to glow.
"Ame, what are you up to? Don't even think about getting out of bed!" Hina chastised me.
"Hina, I got this!" I said with a smile, I could see the stress on her face.
"Got what?!" She rebuked.
"Hina, move."
"Explain yourself first!"
"Sis…" I looked her in the eyes. "Trust me, please." She blushed and fell into her hands.

"J-just don't hurt yourself, s-sis…" Hina said, still wrapping her head around things.

"Y'know your cute when you blush, I see what San-Nii sees…" I smirked

"When my girlfriend and sister, both of whom are in committed relationships, are done hitting on each other, with me still in the room, no less… Sis if you're gonna try something… Go ahead! You have my permission."

"R-Right! Sorry San-Nii…"

"Right! Sorry San-kun!"

"'Kun?'" San asked. "Wait, no more evasion!"

"Right! Ritsu, run health diagnostic protocol for San, would ya?"

"Running diagnostic, Ame-Aneki!" She began to hum to herself.

"How did you…?" San sat up with a start, which only had him buckle over in pain.

"San lay back down, you'll mess with the-" Hina pleaded.

"Recalculating…" Ritsu sighed, frustrated, before returning to her playful humming.

"-scan… Sorry Ritsu!"

The three of us sat in silence for what felt like an eternity. Hina was anxiously looking between us. Ritsu's humming didn't fit the tone of the room, and the atmosphere almost made it seem haunting.

"So don't keep us in suspense, Ame… What is it you intend to do?" Hina asked me.

"Well I don't know if it will work but-"

"Scan complete, Ame-Aneki! Showing results…" She pulled up a full body schematic of San. "57 broken or fractured bones, possible internal hemorrhages and definite bruising on both biceps and triceps, as well as several along the torso. I've pinpointed the most critically injured areas on the body mapping."

"San-kun! How could you do this to yourself?" Hina gasped as she looked over the diagram. "Several compound fractures, bone fragment nearly puncturing several vital organs…" She flung her arms unexpectedly around me. "If you hadn't stepped in Ame, we could have lost him." She began to choke up, as I felt a gentle wetness spread over my shoulder. The new sound of some uneasy snoring reached our ears.

"If he just had fully recovered, I feel like he could have taken Takaoka on his own… But our boy chooses to throw himself to the wolves… especially in cases where the family, even more so you, is threatened." I looked his chart up and down again, memorizing each injured area. "Sis, we gotta stand by him and pick him up when he falls to pieces… that extends to you too Ritsu."

"Thanks Ame-Aneki," she replied somberly.

Hina was full on bawling into my arm by this point. I brought her forehead to mine and then pulled it away to look her in her tear-streaked face. "Ritsu, sis…" I kissed Hina on the forehead as my eyes returned to their glowing crimson. I took a deep breath and let loose a set of yellow flames all over San's body. The gentle glow had a hypnotic effect over me as I felt my body fall deeply into a state of utter fatigue. "Look after him for me… for just a while longer, would ya."

"Guys, she's waking up!" The familiar voice of Kiko reached my ears as I opened my eyes to look at the ceiling.

"Hey, glad to see you conscious, Rio and Ritsu have been nervous wrecks…" Tomo laughed as he stepped into the room. I looked about to see I was back in my room in San's apartment.

"Yeah? And just how would you react if Yukiko was out for an entire day!" Rio ran into the room and flung her arms around me. "I leave for twenty minutes… I come back to you pale as a ghost, my best friend bawling her eyes out, Ritsu panicking about not being able to do anything, and San on fire!" Her knees fell out from under her. "You idiot…" There was a wet spot growing on my night gown as Rio buried her face into my shoulder. "Don't scare us like that again…"

"Well at least now I can see how much you care for her…" The tips of my ears began to burn as I heard the voice of someone I wasn't expecting.

"You couldn't have gotten that from the phone call?" Rio growled into my arm.

"How could anyone have gotten anything from all that blubbering?"

"Mom!" I sat up with a smile on my face as I looked into my mother's strict eyes. "You came to check on me?"

Her face softened, "How could I not? When Ms. Nakamura called my emergency line so soon after I handed it to her," I gripped Rio's hand, "I thought the worst when her babble was too unintelligible to understand." I pulled Rio in for a hug. "Daughter… You used that ability again didn't you?" I lowered my head. "That boy must really be special to you…"

"Yeah…"

"Rina? Mitsuki? Biboo?" Mom was calling random names into the ether.

"Are you calling for Ritsu, mom?" I asked.

"That's it! Ritsu!" Mom thrusted a fist into her open hand, her eyes sparkling.

"Careful, Mom, your curious side is showing…" I said out of the corner of my mouth.

"Yes, Mama Izana!" Ritsu popped up on my phone nearby with a salute.

"Now what was the command Shuri taught me? Ritsu, launch medical-" She looked up as if trying to remember something.

"'Ritsu, launch medical scan'?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yep! Ritsu, launch medical scan on my daughter! Oh… um… please."

"This is the same lady that wanted to kill San and me a few days ago?" Rio grumbled in disbelief.

"Only one of you has shown me any reason to remove you from that list dear…" Rio froze as Mom silently had stepped within earshot.

"R-Right, s-sorry Ms. Sasu…"

"And this is the same brash, young woman that defiantly called me 'Bitch' in front of my daughter… Tsk, tsk… No backbone." Mom smirked as Rio squinted to her comment.

"Scan complete, Mama Izana! Would you like me to display the results?"

"If you could instead give us a briefing, that would be much more preferable…" Mom explained.

"Especially since there's somebody holding a very heavy tray of sweets out here and you all are overcrowding the room!" The shrill voice of Kaede came from outside the door.

"Let me get out of bed mom, and we can continue in the-"

"Not until you get a clean bill of health-"

"Ams!"

"Daughter!"

Mom and Rio looked at each other, growled, and quickly looked away.

"Ahem!" Ritsu said over the noise…

"Go ahead, Ritsu!" I nodded to her.

"Thanks, Ame-Aneki!" She nodded in response.

"Ritsu, the summarized version!" I reminded her.

"Right! From the scan, overall, no damage has been found to any vital areas. Though Ame's overall weight has declined drastically by a dip of about thirty percent. Causation undefined."

"Can she get out of bed, Ritsu?" Rio asked.

"Oh… There doesn't seem to be any reason to keep her in bed from the scan…" Ritsu gave us a nervous smile. "She is most likely hungry."

As she said it, my face dropped. I had been so overwhelmed with the number of stimuli that I hadn't noticed, the emptiness I had been feeling became unbearable. "Let me out!" I roared.

"Welp… She's definitely hungry…" Rio backed against the wall. Mom and the rest in the room were soon to follow. There it was in all of its glory… A platter of cupcakes, eclairs, puff pastries, and donuts. To be honest, I felt bad for the similar-sized green-haired friend of mine that was stuck holding the tray, for when I regained some semblance of reason she had a truly mortified look on her face. "Burrrrrp!"

"W-Well at least you seem to enjoy my cooking, Ame!" Kaede laughed nervously as she removed her shaky hands from the platter. It fell with a muffled clatter as it hit the floor.

"H-Hey S-sis…"

"Hina!" I ran up and hugged a very red faced Hina.

"Nagisa told us you were up and about… Sorry we wanted to be there when you first woke up, but we were kinda sorta… um… preoccupied in the kitchen." She looked away avoiding my gaze. I was stunlocked as I looked towards the direction in which she was looking.

Before me stood a red-faced blue-haired boy who looked like he had walked in on something that he was still processing. A left hand was placed on his shoulder. "You good there Nagisa? Sorry you had to walk in on that… Apparently Hina's been holding herself back a lot while I was injured…" Tall, broad shouldered, shining silver hair, piercing blue eyes, and best yet… no cast or sling in sight. "Oh uh… hey sis! Glad to see you're up."

"San-Nii!" I could feel the tears running down my cheeks as I saw my fully recovered older brother with a clean bill of health. I ran and jumped head first into his chest as he caught me in his arm.

"I take it, you're happy to see me." As he held me, I nodded, my face buried in his shirt and my hand gripping it tightly. "Well I think it goes without saying… Feeling's mutual."

"You're ba-ha-hack!" I cried.

"All thanks to you… It was a wild ride… You lit me on fire… Hina panicked… You went unconscious… Hina followed… Rio found us… and panicked… She got the gang together… they panicked… they finally put me out… Rio collapsed due to stress… I panicked, catching her as she was falling to the floor… I used my 'bad arm'... No pain, but Nagisa called it to my attention… and yeah… I've been good for about a day." We laid there on his carpeted hallway surrounded by smiling friends and my mother. "Y'know sis, Hina, Kaede and I didn't know when you were gonna be up… so we wound up making quite a bit of food."

"You made food?"

"Why are you saying that like I can't cook? Before you came along I was living a pretty successful bachelor's life…"

"Oh you poor sweet innocent boy…" Mom laughed into the back of her hand. "Now that you've mentioned that I don't think… present company inclusive… that you'll ever be experiencing that way of life ever again." She stepped towards us… "Now if I was only a few years younger…"

Rio's eyes went wide, "Ams, I think your mom wants in on the harem…"

"Quiet! You promised Hina you wouldn't bring that up!" I elbowed her. "Besides… You two hate each other…"
"Hate is strong word… plus if I get to share her with San that means-"
"San dear… Is my daughter's significant other always this… perverse…?" Mom sighed.
"Hey! I'm just saying what you're thinking, lady…"
"You're implying-"
"Lady Izana, I ask that you not explain yourself further… Rio always has a way of twisting things…" San furrowed his brow at Rio. Rio looked like she was about to respond, however my stomach intervened, with a rather loud gurgle.
"Hina! Food!" I yelped out.
"R-Right!" Hina's eyes regained focus, her face was still rather flushed, but after seeing San… I completely got it… Him being back in working order… Even dressed as simply as he was in a plain white tee shirt and black slacks… Without all the bandages…
Another stomach gurgle… "Yo Ams… Hina… You're drooling…" Rio said, taking my hand. "Food's this way!" She dragged me along behind her.
Our friends had all left, and mom had returned to her room upstairs for the night. I stood outside of San's door and with my face all flushed attempted to knock on the door.

"Y'know… you have to knock for him to let you in…" The mischievous whisper of my blonde girlfriend had me freeze up, I was about to let out a scream but was stopped by a hand over my mouth and a kiss on the cheek. "I'm also not the biggest fan of my girlfriend sneaking off to go sleep with someone else's significant other… but it's him so I'll make an exception… I mean as long as my girlfriend is cool with me also sleeping with her brother…"

"Rio… Do you have to put it like th-"

"Just knock, Ams!" She nudged me into the door, as it made an audible thump, and before I could back away Rio pinned me against the door. The action delivering another 'knock' on the door.

A few moments later, we heard the door begin to open. "Rio, the door is opening! Let me back u-"

"What is that n-" I fell face to face on top of Hina. I could feel the heat, as the blood rushed to both of our faces.

"Sis?!" Both Hina and San exclaimed in unison.

"Hina!" Rio smiled devilishly.

"R-Rio?" San-Nii went pale.

"Ritsu!" Ritsu popped up on San's phone in the corner.

"H-Hey Sis, San-Nii… S-sorry for… dropping in…? You can blame my girlfriend…" I got up off of Hina and glared back at Hina.

"Oh no you don't… You were the one that left the bed to come knocking on his door… When you already had me!" Rio shouted.

I helped Hina to her feet as San got out of bed and ran to cover Rio's mouth. "Idiot! Did you forget we have a world class assassin over our heads? What is she gonna think if she sees us all in the same room in our pajamas with her daughter?"

"Oh so that's what we're calling pajamas now? Just what were you and Hina up to in here before we came in…" Rio said, walking up to San and running a finger up and down his bare chest. "And what about you Hina? Whatcha got on under that robe that's much too big for you?" Hina and I were still entranced by the completely bare chest of San. "Earth to Hina! Hey! San, do you believe this? I mean don't get me wrong I wanna go stun dumb too right now, but I'm more annoyed at my trained assassin girlfriend getting a… is that a freaking nosebleed? Ams!"

"The room is warm…" San looked away while rubbing his neck.

"Uh huh…" Rio replied, dismissively. "Right. Well I know what I want. I'm pretty sure I know what my girlfriend wants… and I damn well know that you two want each other…" She said alluding to the dazed Hina and flabbergasted San. "C'mere you!" Rio grabbed San's wrist, and spun him like a top as he landed with his back to his bed. "Here! Hold this!" Rio picked up Hina and put her down on top of San.

"Where are you going with this Rio?"

"We finally have you back at full strength. Where do you think I'm going with this, San?" She wiped the blood from my nose, and gave me a kiss. She then picked me up and nestled me in to San's right arm.

"Hey! What about me?" Ritsu yelped from San's charging dock.

Rio rubbed her nose in frustration. "Y'know I wanna get to sleep sometime tonight too….but give me a minute…"

"Yes because ALL of us are asleep right now!" San complained from beneath Hina and myself. Hina however put a finger to his lips subconsciously as she herself was out like the lights in the room. Rio had left the room mid San's complaint and came back with a wall charger, climbed in bed over me, plugged the cord and her phone in and placed it over San's head before climbing over Hina and San and nestling in on San's left arm.

"There everyone's settled… Finally!" Rio groaned as she too passed out.

"San…" I whispered quietly to him.

"Yeah sis?"

"This isn't how I intended this to go…"

"It's whatever, don't worry about it…"

"I'm happy you're doing better…" I said, snuggling the area between his arm and chest.

"Feeling is mutual… but can we get some sleep? Oh and sis… before the three of you catch cold pull up the blanket… I'd do it myself but I'm kinda pinned at the moment."

"Heh… we just missed you, okay?" I said, pulling up the blanket over Rio and Hina before settling into it myself.

"You say that like I disappeared somewhere…"

"Listen… you try to be a teenage girl who feels guilty for her closest friend's broken limb and chest for three months." He reached around with his right hand and ruffled my hair.

"G'night sis!"

"G'night San-Nii!"

"G'night Onii-sama! G'night Aneki!"

"Heh…" San and I chuckled together.

"G'night Ritsu!"

"G'night Ritsu-chan." Thus we all feel asleep to get ready for the coming morning.
