The screeches of a pheonix bellowed through the skies, and it flew with determination. Hunting down its prey. Its prey would come in the form of a Raptor piloting his skimmer. This skimmer had been repainted a sleek white, with a silverish grey secondary colour along its nuts, bolts, rivets, and secondary panels. Piloting the skimmer, now dressed in a doctor's jacket that was modified to have its sleeves removed, was Hoerk; still adorning his duck-hat studded with an enhanced shield crystal. Slung over his shoulder, and sat behind him in his seat, was a leather postal bag. Hoerk leant as far forward as he could. the jet engines, burning a bright, solid blue, hissed in distress that matched the peril of Hoerk's situation.

The pheonix fired a long stretch of flames, that only slightly missed Hoerk, veering a little low, and to his left. Looking at the near miss, Hoerk's eyed widened as he bank, and rolled to the right. Pulling an aeleron roll.

Hoerk started to hear an electronic ringing in his ear, he quickly tapped his ear and immediately refixed his grip on the controls. he greeted the caller with a simple, blunt 'Yeah?'

'Hey, where are you?' The lisped voice in his ear asked.

'I'm closing in, I've just, uhh, I've got a bit of heat on my tail' Hoerk replied, looking back at the pheonix that was still hunting him down.

'Don't worry about losing it, just make sure you have enough room when you get here, try opening a gap through the pillars if you're not already there' The voice instructed. Hoerk looked in the distance in front of him, and spotted a maze of rock spires and pillars poking just a little above the clouds.

'Sounds good' He quickly affirmed.

'Oh, and Hoerk? Be careful' The voice added. This made Hoerk pause for a second, his skimmer hurtling towards the rocks.

'...Always' He eventually replied, before tapping his ear again, and pushing his akimmer into a dive, which the pheonix followed.

Hoerk flew into the rocks; swerving, rolling, and weaving through the tightly packed rock formations in order to try and shake the pheonix loose. The pheonix tried to follow, but after a few collisions, resorted to gripping the spires with its feet, and hopping from one to the next. Hoerk eventually banked hard, and escaped from the naturally formed trap. Twisting the throttle and bolting for the horizon.

The pheonix that had chased him had seemingly vanished, and with a small Terra in the distance, he prepared to land. The Terra had a sturdy, brick built hut on it, with a roof comprising of corrugated tin, animal hides, and heavy slate. Hoerk slung the skimmer in front of the hut's door, and exercised care dismounting, focusing on the bag. After dismounting, he ran for the door.

The door opened for him, and he entered the hut. Inside was an amalgam of Raptor and Terradon motifs, their contrasting themes seemingly melded in a novel and uncluttered way. The hut had only one large hall, with a bed made from animal hides and sewed quilting on one side; leading to a seating area that had dark mahogany furniture with tribalist upholtery; leading into a kitchen area that had black pots and pans, a stone brick grill, and various other utensils used for boiling; this then lead to the side of the hut on Hoerk's opposing flank. A lab, with clean, white equipment along the worktops on the wall. The lab even had a table island, this table had a large, hollow device, see through on all sides. Standing next to the device, with a full mouthed, cheek wrinkling smile, was Beaker.

'You made it back safely. I hope you have everything you need' Beaker excitedly said. Hoerk slung the bag off of his shoulder and gently gave it to Beaker.

'I've got all I need. I just needed to make sure this was safe' He replied, alluding to the bag's contents.

'Of course. It would be a disaster if it was not' Beaker confirmed. She opened the bag and pulled out a large, beige egg, with small brown spots all over it. 'After all, our very own egg is an exciting proposition in and of itself' She added. Beaker opened the hollow device, and slid the egg into it. Relacing the lid, and placing a solar crystal on the top, she finished her adjustments. Walking up to and hugging Hoerk from the side. 'I have to admit, I don't think I'm ready for this...' She pensively admitted.

'I'm sure you'll be great. Nobody ever is. As long as we have each other, Squeaks, we can make this work' Hoerk said, trying to comfort Beaker.

'That was corny' Beaker said with a giggle.

'Corny, but true' Hoerk said, commiting to his little speach.

The pair stood for a while in silence, watching the egg with no sense of time, or boredom. The future would be cloudy, but they both hoped that as they approached it, the skies ahead would stay clear enough for them.

Hey there! Inkblot here! (wow, he's never done these, who's this idiot, huh?)

This is kinda one of those cases where even though the story was done, Mink and I sure weren't done with the characters. We hadn't really found anything else to do with them, but with this story's one year anniversary coming around, we decided to celebrate, by making another happy ending that was even happier.

Consider this another thanks (a thanks on top of thanks, if you will), and a nice little Christmas gift for you all. Have a fantastic time this winter, we all need something good for once, don't we?
