DISCLAIMER: Sound of Music isn't mine!
she notices everything
setting: von Trapp villa, post party
She knows more than anyone that fairytales aren't quite real. Knows her father still thinks that she does. Tries his best to steer her away from them because stories don't always end with happily ever afters in real life. She doesn't read them because she believes in them, anyways. She reads them because it's nice to pretend that everything will be alright in the end. It doesn't matter if the princess is on top of the tower, or the prince has been wounded, or a curse has been cast. A fairytale will always end happily. And she thinks there's no harm in hoping that things will end well in real life, too. Even if she knows it's not exactly going to happen.
And she watches her father under the dim light from her place behind the door, book clutched tightly in her arms. Watches him drink from a glass. Piece of paper in his shaky hands.
She frowns when she's up in her room, wishing she were in a fairytale.
Closes her eyes tight and looks out the window. And she hopes profusely on the evening star that he will get his happy ending.
Even if he doesn't believe anymore.

I hope you liked that! I've been planning to post drabbles in so long but just never got around to compiling them into a collection. Found a few in storage, edited them, had to share. Anyways, expect irregular updates—depending on the weather, of course! Sending lots of love :)
