Arthur and Druella must work together to survive. How will the relationship between them develop and what will happen?

Part 5

-Who was the one that helped me during the fight?

I kept wondering just as I drifted into slumber. But my sleep didn't last long because I was later woken up by black and red eyes staring deep into my soul, and these eyes were so magnificent that I couldn't draw my gaze away from them for a while, but that was until I realized whose eyes they were.

-No, GET OFF ME!

I said as I pushed her away and managed to break what seemed to be one of her spells.

-You cut off one of my wings!

She said in what seemed to be an angry voice.

-If it was someone else I would have killed him right here on the spot after regaining my senses. But you are different from the others, in the end you didn't kill me and instead tended to me even though you considered me your enemy. How so? Did you regret hurting me? I wouldn't mind getting hurt from you darling. Pain is pleasure for me if it is from someone who I love. And you have proven once again my reasons for loving you.

She said right as she was starting to blush.

-I couldn't kill someone who didn't have the ability to defend herself, human or not. It would be dishonorable for a warrior and especially one who is in command of soldiers. Or used to be…

I said as the memories of what happened to my men resurfaced and almost made me angry. But considering the situation I was in, the cooler head prevailed inside me.

-How noble. That's why you're my little hero. And that flame in your soul, I can see it… it arouses me so… so much! All the time! So why don't we put aside what happened? I can forgive you for cutting off my wing if you will come and fuck me right here and now. I can't hold it in anymore. If only I had some magic left besides the one in my eyes, you wouldn't be able to resist me. I love you, I LOVE YOU!

She said just as she was about to finger herself.

-Come to your senses! Do you know where we are?

-I have no clue since I can't fly, but I bet there is not a single soul around for hundreds of kilometres because we are in the middle of nowhere. So how about we have sex before we get bored.

-I have already said that I refuse to lay with beasts and especially you. I haven't forgotten what you did to my comrades. But it seems that if your assessment is correct we will need to work together if we are to survive with the resources that are around, at least until we find somebody. That doesn't mean that we will have a closer relationship than that, so keep your hands to yourself or else I won't hesitate to end your life instantly.

-Okie dokie, but I am sure that eventually you will become mine fufu…

At that point I dismissed what she said, but we grew closer with each other day by day, with our encounters outside those that were necessary becoming more frequent, due to the loneliness that we both felt. We eventually learned that we had similar outsider backgrounds who didn't really fit in our close environments , she as a radical in her royal mamono family, and me as a high ranking officer who was seeing first-hand the moral corruption that encompassed a lot of the military and the Order. The latter one was supposed to be the purest institution in the world, so it shouldn't have been this corrupt, especially without any apparent monster interference. So I knew that there were politics involved which I tried to avoid by keeping my distance from the rest of the high ranking officers, and instead focused all these years on the war we had to win. Besides our similar outsider backgrounds we also had similar interests, which made spending time with each other more enjoyable and provided a distraction from all that had happened.

Then one cold night, while we were sitting next to each other in front of the fire, she leaned in to kiss me, but instead of pushing her away again I kissed her back. And that was the night we became lovers. After that night, each passing day we had sex more frequently, to the point where it would feel like our souls were melting and becoming one, leaving traces of love behind. Because that is what we had, the purest form of love you could imagine.

-I love you Arthur.

-I love you Druella, more than anything in the world.

This all continued blissfully for what seemed to be months until the day that I had a fateful encounter. I woke up the usual, kissed my lover who was still sleeping and went for my morning walk. It was the day that I was planning to propose to her and make her officially my wife, as it didn't seem that we were ever going to find another person, and the only thing we had was each other. So in essence she was my world, and I had found a rare glowing stone and made it into a ring to give to her when I proposed. I was so happy. As I was admiring the ring I saw something in the distance. It looked like a caravan that had people on it.

-PEOPLE!

I came to the realization and ran towards them.

-How good it feels to encounter people after so long. Where are you from?

I asked with excitement.

With a look of confusion in their eyes they answered:

-We are from the nearby village, what are you doing in the woods?

-There is a village nearby? That's impossible. I have explored these woods every day and I never saw a village.

But there it was, the church of the village could be seen from far away. But just as they were about to answer, suddenly a plentiful amount of monster girls swarmed right at us, snatching the villagers. I couldn't do anything, I was unarmed, but in the end that didn't matter because I suddenly heard a voice from behind saying:

-This is unfortunate! Sorry my love but I have to put you to sleep for now, fufu.

I turned around when I heard her voice, but all I saw was her eyes in front of me and I fell on my knees.

-Sleeeeppp.

She said and then everything went dark.
