Rumor had it ancient scrolls Raya saw had the truth of how to bring back Sisu and stop the Drunn. Unfortunately, Fang had possession of them. While it was easy to break in, getting out was a bit harder. So there she was, against the floor of Fang, breathless and desperate. What Raya did not expect was to see Namaari grinning, let alone to enjoy the adrenaline it gave them both.

i posted this to ao3 a bit ago but figured it would bot hurt to share here either. this is a collection of my author's notes:

i wanted to give a big thank you to a couple people!! firstly, a warm thank you to my friends who were my beta readers for the story. bravelittlenippa and letmelickyoureyeballs ( both tumblr usernames ) helped me tremendously thruout the past couple weeks. id also like to thank the ratld fandom on tumblr for giving me the strength to power thru and finalize edits. and lastly thank you to my disney twitter mutuals for having to listen to my endless rambling over these lesbians.

the google doc i wrote the fic in was made late 2021, and sat mostly collecting dust bc i never felt confident enough to share ... until recently where i locked in to add final details n wrap it up. i hope u guys enjoy ( and if u do feel free to drop a like or comment x ). if u could not tell upon reading, this story was based loosely on the "i'll kill you. that'll shut you up!" "you're beautiful." meme. i saw a bunch of rayaari fanart of it and wanted to write a scene out.

a couple extra things i took note of while writing: raya is one of three left handed princesses ( mulan & tiana being the other two )

if u guys remember how adult namaari is introduced, shes following raya thru tail. the man who questions her authority is named wahn, and it is believed he was the guard on watch while raya broke in and part of his punishment is having to go with the group to find raya, hence why he was so eager to call it quits and go back to fang ( to lessen his sentence. ) i can link the tumblr post talking about it, but i thought it was super cool considering wahn is dressed differently than the other fang soldiers for a reason.

speaking of that scene, it is GAY AS HELL!!!!! that namaari instantly recognized that raya was nearby bc of the bangle that was dropped on the ground. like fym u remembered that abt her??????? GAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

lastly i need to promote towa bird's latest album, american hero!!!!!!!1! go give it a listen!!!!!!! she is an openly queer artist and the fic title n sub header is inspired from one of her songs. thank u for reading n i hope u have a wonderful day!

ps. what do u guys think abt the deleted scenes n extra footage of what the film's plot was early on? i think the idea of raya being more of a vigilantly known as 'dragon blade' is super cool so lmk n maybe ill open google docs again to write something else ok byeeeeee
