I am so sorry it took me this long to update. I wanted to complete the chapter before posting it but writers block struck and it struck hard. And for the few people that followed this: thank you. I really appreciate that.
oh. And none of the characters are mine :)
Chapter Five
For another few months, we continued training to become Demon Slayers. I don't mention to anyone that I could probably do one in with my semblance.
At the end of the month, we each get led to a boulder and get told to cut it in half.
Tanjiro looks confused, but I realize that it's a test to see if we are strong enough to go to the Final Test.
What better way than to test us on what we had learned so far?
I pause as Tanjiro starts to just attack the boulder.
I blink a few times. Just attacking won't help anything. If anything, it'll make it harder to break tge boulder.
I turn to my boulder. It's much larger than Tanjiro's is.
Does Urokodaki think that I'm stronger than Tanjiro?
I shake my head. That doesn't matter. All I need to focus in is slicing the boulder.
I clear my head and enter my starting stance. On instinct, I use my aura to coat the sword lightly and I swing as cleanly as I can.
There's a loud cracking sound as the boulder immediately parts at the force. The wave of air goes past the end of the boulder and splinters a few trees before dying out.
I hear Tanjiro suck in a breath and I turn to him with a sheepish expression.
"How...did you do that?" he asks me in awe and I shrug lightly.
"I just...swung hard?" I reply sheepishly. No need for me to say i did my mojo with my aura.
Tanjiro nods slowly before he turns back to his boulder. I look at mine for a moment before I begin to wonder if I could possibly just...punch it with a fist coated in aura.
I shake my head. Nah, that would be overkill. We were only told to split it with a strike...and I already did that.
I turn and lean against one of my halves and watch Tanjiro, who seems to be frozen in a trance. I pause as I continue watching before he suddenly enters a perfect stance and swings his blade in the most perfect arc that splits the boulder in half.
I let out an impressed whistle. Dang, that was good.
"Nicely done, Tanjiro" I say.
"T...thank you" he says with a small blush. I fight the urge to smirk at him blushing from the compliment.
"So...do we just wait for Urokodaki to come get us?"
Tanjiro just shrugs.
"Yeah, that's fair."
I know it may not be the same length as the other chapters or whatever, and i know the writing may seem different, but i also haven't gotten a lot of sleep recently, this chapter was going to be a little short anyways, and i also once again have writers block.
