Narrator: Percy puffed sadly to the docks.

Percy: It's not fair!

Narrator: He complained.

Percy: Thomas has been telling lies about me, and made Sir Topham Hatt and all the engines think I'm an ugly woolly bear caterpillar with red stripes that crawl in the hay!

Narrator: Boco smiled.

Boco: I know you aren't and so does Sir Topham Hatt. You wait and see. Why don't you help me with these cars?

Narrator: Percy felt happier with Boco, and set to work at once. Meanwhile Thomas was talking to Duck about Percy.

Thomas: Percy has been late everyday because he crawls in the hay for hours.

Narrator: But Duck didn't believed him.

Duck: That's preposterous!

Narrator: Said Duck.

Duck: Engines don't crawl in hay.

Thomas: Well they do now!

Narrator: Replied Thomas.

Thomas: Percy has been crawling in the hay for hours because he is an ugly green woolly bear caterpillar with red stripes so times...

Duck: Time's time to yourself!

Narrator: Retorted Duck.

Duck: You're only telling a fib. Every time an engine is late to pick up your train you always tell lies.

Narrator: Duck puffed away.

Thomas: Pah!

Narrator: Thomas scoffed.

Thomas: He thinks that I am a big blue liar well I'll show them.

Narrator: Later Percy spoke to the four mice children Teresa, Martin, Cynthia, and Timothy they were indignant when they heard about Thomas what he had said to Percy.

Martin Brisby: Disgraceful!

Narrator: Said Martin.

Teresa Brisby: Disgusting!

Narrator: Said Teresa.

Cynthia Brisby: Despicable!

Narrator: Put in Cynthia.

Timothy Brisby: Disrespectful!

Narrator: Finished Timothy.

Martin Brisby: To say such horrible things about you.

Narrator: Grumbled Martin.

Martin Brisby: Is to teach that big blue bully a lesson!

Teresa Brisby: You know.

Narrator: Added Teresa.

Teresa Brisby: That an ugly caterpillar can turn into a beautiful butterfly.

Cynthia Brisby: You're not an ugly caterpillar.

Narrator: Said Cynthia.

Cynthia Brisby: You're a beautiful butterfly.

Timothy Brisby: Thomas has no right to insult you like that.

Narrator: Said Timothy. Percy felt better.

Percy: Oh thank you kids, I knew you care for me.

Narrator: The next morning Sir Topham Hatt arrived at Ffarquhar Sheds with news for the engines.

Sir Topham Hatt: The bridge across the river needs repair.

Narrator: Told Sir Topham Hatt.

Sir Topham Hatt: I shall have to make a weight limit across it for a while. Percy and Daisy will be alright, and Toby too, but Thomas is too heavy.

Narrator: Thomas looked anxious.

Sir Topham Hatt: How would you like to go and help Edward?

Narrator: Suggested Sir Topham Hatt.

Thomas: Can Annie and Clarabel come?

Narrator: Asked Thomas.

Narrator: Sir Topham Hatt shook his head.

Sir Topham Hatt: They'll be needed here, I'm afraid.

Narrator: He said.

Sir Topham Hatt: Daisy can't carry all your passengers on her own.

Percy: I'll look after them.

Narrator: Assisted Percy. Annie and Clarabel felt sorry to see Thomas go but he had to go to work with Edward. Edward took Thomas to see Bill and Ben, the twin engines who lived at the China Clay Pits, not too far from Brendam Docks.

Thomas: Hello.

Narrator: The twins both chuckled

Ben: Oh, dear! Not another blue engine!

Narrator: Said Ben.

Bill: Seriously, Edward.

Narrator: Said Bill.

Bill: Why doesn't Sir Topham Hatt paint engines a proper color like us for instance.

Narrator: Thomas let off steam indignantly.

Thomas: Let me tell you...

Narrator: He began.

Edward: Alright, you two.

Narrator: Laughed Edward.

Edward: Go and move those trucks, or there won't be room for any more.

Narrator: Bill and Ben, unabashed, went off happily.

Edward: You just don't have to take them too seriously.

Narrator: Explained Edward. Thomas smiled ruefully.

Thomas: I wish you knew how to deal with them.

Narrator: He said. Near the Clay Pits, the line crossed a lane. The crossing had no gates. The lane led to a farm which made butter, and supplied eggs and milk to shops in the town. One morning, the farmer had difficulty starting his lorry. He did it at last, but the lorry jerked along in fits and starts. The farmer was worried about his load of milk and butter and eggs.

Farmer: The milk will be churned to butter soon.

Narrator: He muttered. The lorry lurched across the rails. The back wheels were just clear when its engine made a noise like a tired sheep and stopped. The back of the lorry was still jutting out over the railway line. The farmer struggled to start it again, but it would not go. He had just got down to telephone for help, when he heard a train approaching. Thomas wasn't going fast. When he saw the lorry, he set his brakes hard, but he couldn't stop.

Thomas: Cinders and ashes!

Narrator: Thomas cried.

(Thomas crashes into the lorry.)

Narrator: He hit the lorry with a loud crash. The force of the blow spun the lorry round. Splintered wood flew everywhere and eggs, butter and milk were catapulted all over Thomas.

Thomas: Ugh!

Narrator: Exclaimed Thomas.

Farmer: Ohhh! Just look at my poor lorry!

Narrator: Said the farmer.

Farmer: What a way to make an omelette.

Narrator: The driver made sure that Thomas wasn't hurt, then stood back and surveyed the mess. He began to laugh.

Thomas: It's not funny!

Narrator: Said Thomas crossly. An egg yolk tricked down his nose, and burst on his buffer.

Thomas's driver: You're not standing where I am.

Narrator: Said his driver.

Thomas's driver: You look just like a scrambled egg, Thomas.

Thomas: Well, if a scrambled egg feels as sticky and wet as I do, then it's very uncomfortable.

Narrator: Said Thomas.

Thomas: Please clean me.

Narrator: Both Thomas' driver and fireman tried hard, but the heat of Thomas' boiler had cooked the eggs, and they were stuck fast.

Thomas's driver: Sorry Thomas.

Narrator: Said his driver at last.

Thomas's driver: We can't block the line any longer. We shall have to go on.

Thomas: Percy will laugh at me when he sees me like this.

Narrator: But it was too late Percy puffed in with Annie and Clarabel along with the four mice children Teresa, Martin, Cynthia, and Timothy. Percy had saw everything.

Percy: Well, well, well? Who's the ugly caterpillar now?

Narrator: Teresa, Martin, Cynthia, and Timothy couldn't help but laughing at Thomas's misfortune.

Teresa Brisby: He looks like a blue caterpillar with scrambled eggs on it.

Narrator: Laughed Teresa.

Martin Brisby: An eggapillar!

Narrator: Teased Martin.

Martin Brisby: Ha, ha, ha!

Timothy Brisby: He looks like a blue omelette.

Narrator: Said Timothy.

Cynthia Brisby: A really blue one.

Narrator: Chuckled Cynthia.

Cynthia Brisby: Ha, ha, ha!

Narrator: Even Annie, Clarabel, and the passengers laughed.

Annie: Oh doesn't Thomas look silly?

Narrator: Annie asked.

Clarabel: Indeed.

Narrator: Smiled Clarabel.

Clarabel: He looks like scrambled eggs.

Narrator: She teased.

Percy: That will serve you right for telling lies.

Narrator: Said Percy as he chuffed away. Thomas said nothing he puffed sulkingly away. At the end of the line, Thomas was taken to Wellsworth Yards. The twins were there.

Ben: Hello.

Narrator: Said Ben.

Ben: What's this?

Bill: Must be a new engine.

Narrator: Said Bill. Ben inspected the arrival carefully.

Ben: No Bill.

Narrator: He said.

Ben: That's not a new engine. It's Thomas.

Bill: But it's our color, Ben. and Thomas doesn't think our color is proper for an engine.

Narrator: They heard a grinding noise.

Ben: Are your joints stiff, Bill?

Narrator: Asked Ben. But it wasn't Bill's joints. It was Thomas, gnashing his teeth.

(Cuts to the next station scene.)

Narrator: Percy made good time and all the passengers caught their trains. Percy is now clean but not unfortunately Thomas and his ways. He never learned sense. He's covered in scrambled eggs now and his lies can do no harm. Bill and Ben never listen to them anyway.

The End
