As preparations for the Neo World Program work Makoto down to the bone, Kyoko wakes him up in the middle of the night and demands him to meet with her at the beach. Although Kyoko leaves without explaining herself, Makoto is certain that it must be important.

This was loosely inspired by another Naegiri fic I read recently on AO3. I decided to set it in an AU where the DR3 animation didn't happen.

It becomes increasingly clear that Makoto has feelings for Kyoko, but Kyoko is unable to accept it due to a certain incident. Meanwhile, a dark secret within the Future Foundation emerges.

A boy who had a dream, but didn't know just how the world he envisioned truly was like. And his dream being completely innocent, despite what truth entailed behind it.
