Chapter 4: A Sign From God

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marinette's POV...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Adrien cares about me. Like really cares about me!

I still can't believe what I heard yesterday. Adrien stood up for me! Me! I've got to be dreaming. Someone pinch me!

THUMP!

I said pinch, not push.

I stumbled back, nearly falling to the ground. I'm surprised I actually caught myself. My bag wasn't so lucky. My textbooks and notebooks fell out of my bag, scattering along the ground in front of the front steps of the school.

"Watch it." Someone scoffed as they walked by me and up the stairs. It was whoever I had just bumped into. Great. I sighed and kneeled down as I started to pick up my things.

Another pair of hands joined me. I looked up and green met blue. Adrien!? I could practically feel my face heat up as I saw his gorgeous face.

"Are you okay, Marinette?" Adrien spoke as he collected my books. "That guy was a jerk."

"I-I'm fine. Th-Thank you-you, Adrien," I stammered slightly. I mentally facepalmed. Stupid stutter. Why do I do that?

Adrien smiled and I felt faint. But in a good way? That makes no sense.

"Good. I wouldn't want you hurt," He handed me by books and help me put them in my bag. "Do you need me to carry your bag or anything?"

I couldn't speak. He was being so sweet it was almost strange. Uneasy. I managed to shake my head. He smiled and nodded, handing me my bag. He waved before walking away right as Alya approached me, closing my open jaw for me.

"Girl, what just happened?" Alya asked.

"He helped me!" I squealed. "Pick up my things and then offered to carry my bag!"

Alya just smirked.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her. Then I gasped. "You!"

"Me," She spoke simply. "I may have had someone bump into you since Adrien was in eyesight."

"Alya!" I moaned.

"It was a sign from God! He told me to make it happen." Alya laughed. I groaned.

Alya's smirk grew wider and she clapped her hands. "I'm telling you, soon enough, I'll be catching you and Sunshine making out in the Janitors closet."

"Alya!"
