Greetings fellow readers. It is I, the Evil Eye Beholder, your host and teller of the tale that you are about to read.
Observing the different timelines in search of stories that diverge their more commonly known variant you know as canon, I have come across quite a few entities, who breach the boundaries of the individual universes for one reason or another. Some do it for exploration, some do it for the thrill of adventuring the unknown and others again for more nefarious reasons. Sometimes entire races even make use of such technology and/or magic to simply expand their influence across the multiverse.
Today's story will be a series of non-canonical sequels to the story vermaakwillbewhole's story "A Different Kind of Hunger" in the form relatively short stories with each taking place within one or two chapters at most and each in another world/franchise. I had to cut this one in two though since it is sort of like a pilot chapter.
Also before any of you blow a casket, this story/series was done with permission from vermaakwillbewhole, so thanks for that. Therefore, I advise you, dear readers to read their story first for chronological and understanding reasons. Though, if you are not into the mating habits of large non-avian theropod dinosaurs of the status of deities, I strongly advise you not to, so caution is advised.
Now with all that out of the way, let's begin today's tale.
Disclaimer: I do not own Primal Rage or any other used franchise in this series.
Primal Rage: Brood Wars
Chapter 1: Dino Gods, Invade (GATE: Thus The JSDF Fought There)
For a long time the gods of Urth had been in conflict with one another after great cataclysm destroyed the world and reshaped the whole planet. The humans, that survived the catastrophes, were no longer the top of the food chain. Their civilization crumbled and was utterly annihilated in the wake of the natural disasters. From the depths of the earth emerged giant prehistoric entities, the dino gods. Now mankind was nothing more than servants of these gods, who were fighting for dominance. And it was in this conflict that two gods entered a rather unexpected alliance. Vertigo, the serpent-like goddess of magic and insanity and Sauron, the god of hunger.
Normally none of the people or other gods would have expected these two to work together. Sauron had been an insane and deranged monster, only driven by an agonizing never-ending hunger. Thus he was dead-set on devouring all other gods and in order to keep his immortality he had to devour his own followers. Vertigo was an insane magic caster, driven mad by visions and voices in her head and a master of intrigue and betrayal, who was not beyond turning her own followers into deranged lunatics to wander her temple in another impossible dimension. Needless to say, with such portfolios it had been an impossibly thought that either of those two would ever cooperate with anyone, let alone those two specifically with one another.
And yet they did. Together two gods combined their forces and defeated one adversary after another, ultimately leading to the two of them ruling the world as god king and god queen. And from these two gods came forth a whole pantheon of new gods, each offspring of the two.
For a while all was well. And then the day came that changed everything.
XXX
Laying on a massive luxurious bed were the two gods that conquered the Urth.
Sauron was a large tyrannosaurus with yellow scales and violet colored stripes on his flanks. On the other hand, Vertigo was a more chimeric creature in appearance. She did possess the body of a theropod dinosaur much like Sauron, but her arms were longer and ended in hands with long claws. Her posture was more upright as her long, serpentine neck and head was held up high. Her head was reminiscent to that of a cobra with a large hood. Her tail also featured a venomous stinger.
As for right now, the two gods were trying to relax. Managing a whole planet was taxing and even with the help of their children, it was not always easy. At least their children were no longer as rebellious as some of them had been. Don't misunderstand, Vertigo and Sauron loved all of them, but some of them had been a handful in the past to say the least. Now they were working all together to keep the world running. And that with great efficiency. Almighty gods they might be, but they were but two and their followers were many and their territory vast. Still, even with minor fights between the siblings, they found their place in the Urth.
Though she was not arrogant enough to assume that it would always be that way. The Urth also had its limitations in resources and followers that it could sustain in the long run. The worship was already divided between the gods with the parents getting the most of it, but that also had limits. She was aware that she could not just continuously breed with her mate and produce more offspring than the world can handle. All in all, it was something that needed to be dealt with as fast as possible.
It was then when Vertigo suddenly shot up from her nap, her head raised high in alarm. Sauron took note of that and growled, inquiring what was going on. Vertigo stayed silent for a moment before she began to hiss, but not at her mate, but in anger at the thing that disturbed her. This was accompanied by a minor tremor vibrating through the halls of her palace, something that also made Sauron raise his head as this was definitely not his mate's doing. Something had just breached their domain. Something foreign invaded their land. Unlike Sauron, Vertigo had a much keener sense to the supernatural. Because of that, she had felt a great disturbance in their realm earlier.
As she relayed that information to Sauron, the tyrannosaur couldn't help but growl loudly himself. No one dares to encroach on their territory and get away with it. Seconds later, a cacophony of enraged roars and growls could be heard echoing through the palace of Vertigo and Sauron as their offspring had apparently noticed the disturbance now as well. Sounds feet stomping around as if the temple had become an aggravated ant hill filled the air. The two major gods felt somewhat proud that their children rose immediately to defend their home, but they also felt like it was their duty to fight this battle themselves. While they had long since defeated the other gods, they were by no means less powerful than before. In fact, they were more powerful than before due to now controlling the entire world.
With that, the two major gods departed from their chambers and off to the battlefield.
XXX
Meanwhile, in the seaside ruins of a once great city an army of humans and other humanoid creatures came forth, looking around in both wonder and confusion. What they had expected were barbarians and riches to plunder, yet what they came across were the ruins of once great towers, higher than even those of Sadera itself.
General Gaius Septus was both captivated and horrified for a moment as he steered his horse between the ruins of old skyscrapers. The once gleaming facades of glass had long since been broken and the elements eroded much of it, leaving nothing but skeletons of concrete and metal sticking out of the ground. These ruins were overgrown by vegetation. Algae and moss grew in patches on the artificial material, painting the otherwise gray material green. Birds had made their nest in the highest and most secluded reaches to avoid any predators. Those who now stood in the water had their lower floors occupied with fishes and other marine animals, while those at the shoreline and on land now were buried under the sand. There was no longer any real asphalt roads. Much like the buildings, time had broken them, leaving only patches of them intact as most of the ground was now covered in sand and patches of weeds that managed to survive here.
"By the gods. What could have happened here? Did the gods abandon this world?" He mumbled to himself as his men followed him to make sure their leader was safe and sound. Gaius couldn't find any other explanation in his mind. Not with everything he had seen thus far. It was clear to him that this place once had been a great nation. How else could anyone have built these? But the Saderan general had absolutely no idea how or why they were now in such a state. In fact, he didn't want to even think about it. The thought would probably haunt him for quite a few nights.
"!/ยง&)?!" The incoherent shouts and screams made his ears rings as he glanced back. While they had not found any riches thus far, they sure found barbarians and slaves. Humans at that, but they spoke not even common and they were incredibly primitive, dressed only in simple fabric and animal hides. Right now, the men were chained and beaten up, while the women were taken elsewhere for the soldiers to relieve their stress. These wild humans were tribal in nature and upon seeing them, they charged at teh Imperial soldiers and fought ferociously like beasts. Gaius would lie if he said it was a flawless victory for the Empire as he had lost some good men in that skirmish. But in the end, the Empire prevailed through sheer numbers and tactic, whereas these barbarians had charged blindly at them.
If this was all the world had to offer, Gaius was sure he'd conquer these lands soon enough for the Empire and be home before his wife back home would even knew he was gone. Perhaps he'd even be back to be with her before she'd be giving another child as she had just found out that she was pregnant once more. But then, he was torn out from his nostalgic thoughts as an loud noise tore through the air. His horse got scared and reared up, almost throwing him off as he held tightly onto his reigns. The animal was clearly frightened by something and he was struggling to get it back under control.
"What in the name of Emroy is going on?" He said to himself as he turned around to find the source of it. The birds in the ruins suddenly all fled. Even the sea seemed to suddenly retract back into the ocean and all its critters making a run for it as he saw the shadows of fishes swimming into deeper water. Violet light shone from a bit further away. He rode forward and his men followed him with spear and sword ready at hand, preparing for the worst. A bit further inland, Gaius arrived at a large plaza like place he and his men had not found before. It was filled with lots of monolithic structures. Strange symbols were engraved on the black rock as it glowed with power. In the middle was a larger, almost circular structure which emitted the glow. Lightning arched from the spires to the circle as the space in the middle rippled and tore open.
Gaius didn't know what he was looking at. Neither did his men. Nor did another contingent of Saderan soldiers arriving at the plaza from another side.
And then they arrived. Two reptilian monsters, larger than any dragon the Saderans had ever seen. Both were bipedal and wingless, which at least meant they were not able to fly, but given their size that meant very little. Immediately, Gaius remembered the tales of the great flame dragons he heard as a child. How they would burn entire kingdoms and how heroes chosen by the gods were needed to repel them.
But what really sent a chill down his spine were the eyes of these two creatures. They gleamed with intelligence and hatred. The moment their eyes met they knew what was going to happen next, but the forces of the Saderan Empire remained rooted to the spot in fear. That was until the yellow one unleashed a roar so loud it made the men hold their heads in pain and caused Gaius' horse to throw him off for real this time and run away. The blue one hissed with its serpentine head as well as both of them charged forward.
Gaius was still disoriented from falling down and the roar, but he saw the giant maw of teeth rush towards him, only to rush over him and a massive foot missing him by a hand's width as the creature bit down his terrified forces.
What followed could only have been described as pure chaos. The dying and panicked screams of his men filled the air as the two reptilian monsters plowed through the Saderan forces like an ogre through a palisade wall. Roars of anger and fury were unleashed, deafening both humans and demi-human cohorts and sending chills down their spines. Weapons and shields clang loudly as soldiers discarded them, running for their lives while those who were still fighting tried to hack and slash against the scaly skin, only to find their arms to either break or bounce off harmlessly as well as arrows shot by archers.
And then there was this aura the two creatures emitted. He had only once been in the presence of an apostle in his earlier years in the military and while he didn't know which one they were anymore, he would never forget that feeling. But these beings were not apostles. Their aura was different. More powerful and way more intense. Chaotic, destructive, but nonetheless divine.
"What have we done?" Gaius said even though he couldn't hear himself as he watched the two primal gods lay waste to the Saderan forces. Snapping out of his stupor, he tried to stand up, only to fall back down. He tried and again and began stumbling away in a haste on wobbly legs. He had to run away. They had angered the gods of this realm. They were doomed. The Gate needed to be closed or destroyed! They couldn't let those things to the other side.
He didn't hear his shaky breath. Nor the cries of his men as Vertigo and Sauron destroyed them and moved closer to the gate. He didn't care anymore even if he had been able to. All his mind was focused on was getting back home to his wife and family. He needed to protect them. To warn them. To save them. His feet lost hold on loose sand, making him fall once more onto his face. Blindly scrambling around, he didn't see how a shadow began to emerge in the water and drawing closer to the shore. Stumbling around blindly, Gaius didn't even notice that he was completely off his course until he felt the water seep into his boots. Hastily scooping up the water to clean his eyes from the sand, he stood at the shore. The last thing he saw was how another giant reptilian creature burst from the water in front of him with its maw wide open, before it devoured him.
XXX
To say Vertigo was infuriated would have been the understatement of the century as she cleared out the invading forces at the interdimensional gate from which they had come from. It looked like one of buildings the ancient human civilizations had built before she and the other dino gods emerged in the wake of the catastrophe, but it clearly was of human design infused with divinity. And human the invaders were. More primitive than the civilization she came to when awakening, but definitely not tribal in nature, but organised with metal armor and weapons. Not to mention the other humanoids invading with more crude gear than the humans.
It mattered not to the goddess of sorcery and insanity. Whether her opponent was man, beast or god, she would annihilate them. So her first action upon reaching the gate was to erect a stone wall before its one and only entrance/exit. With their escape route cut off, the soldiers began to finally understand the hopelessness of their situation. Some even threw their arms away and got on their knees, begging for forgiveness. An old and familiar satisfaction washed over her as she killed them anyway. Under any other circumstances she might have entertained the thought of capturing them instead, but at that moment she was livid.
As for Sauron, he was having the time of his life and a feast to boot. He wasn't going to forgive the invaders either way. In a hasty manner, the soldiers tried to form a shield wall and fend Sauron off by pointing and thursting their spears in his direction in hopes he would back away. Instead, Sauron simply devoured them alongside their gear, tearing through armor and weapons like a hot knife through butter. Blood and gore splattered across the sandy ground, painting the once yellow beach crimson as the stench of death permeated the air.
A fireball hit Vertigo's cobra-like hood. It didn't hurt, but she spun her head around on her serpentine neck and hissed anyway as she saw a human warrior riding on a winged reptile. It wasn't a pterosaur from the mesozoic era, but it still reminded her of it. Minus the fire breath of course. Swiping her tail at the airborne creature, it was impaled alongside its rider on the stinger sitting at its tip. With great satisfaction she then threw them at the still living foes with a flick of her tail, killing more of them as they were crushed under the weight of the rider and its mount.
As the battle began to ebb to an end, Vertigo created more walls of stone, creating a funnel with the soldiers trapped inside. Sauron simply plowed through it to the end and devoured the captured prey with much delight. As the rocks crumbled, his entire face was smeared in the fresh and warm blood and gore of his enemies as it dripped from his maw. Growling he then approached the gate with obvious intent to head through it and pursue the enemy when his mate stopped him. Confused he looked at her as if she had gone insane again, but then she began to explain.
Through her magic, she had been able to see what was on the other side of the gate and what this gate was. It was a divine construct held in place with earthly materials by human efforts, leading to another world. Sauron didn't quite follow as Vertigo mentioned him to follow her back to her home. Sauron glanced back at the now sealed gate. He really wanted to cross over to that world and give the people there a piece of his mind (and eat them), but he knew that his mate was smarter than him. Looking up, he spotted some of the not-pterosaur riding soldiers now on top of the ruined buildings. Sauron gave a short but loud roar, shaking the structure and causing the winged reptiles to abandon their riders. One of them tried to jump onto his mount only to fall to his death. Vertigo gave Sauron a look, who chuckled, before the two finally departed back into their home, knowing that the remaining soldiers with or without their mounts couldn't really hope to survive. Not when stuck on an hollowed out sky scraper with no stairs.
They had plans to make. Plans about how to deal with this gate and the world beyond it.

The Imperial capital of Sadera was a gorgeous sight to behold. High walls and towers.
Within the heart of the city laid the imperial palace, home of the emperor and place for many great festivities. But currently the lavish furniture and interior seemed less lively. The reason for this was the unease that spread through the empire. It had been a few days now since the forces of the empire had been deployed through the gate and so far there had been no message. At least not officially. In truth, a report had come in and was currently given to the emperor himself.
Emperor Molt Sol Augustus was a tall man in his late 40s or 50s. His blonde hair and beard were well groomed as he looked with sharp blue eyes down at the one giving him the report from his throne. Clad in lavish wine-red robes, he had actually hoped to enjoy this afternoon with good news coming from the front lines, but instead he was hearing an entirely different story and he could tell this day was ruined to him the moment the servant stepped inside his room all nervous and slightly twitching uncomfortably.
He was listening to the report he was given by his servant.
"I see. You are dismissed." The emperor eventually said after a moment of silence as his mind had to digest what he had just heard.
"Milord..." The servant seemed hesitant, but Molt looked down at him with a look of cold anger.
"I said leave. I do not wish to be disturbed. Relay this to the other servants as well." He said. The servant bowed his head before quickly rushing out of the throne room immediately . Molt released a breath he didn't know he held the moment the servant closed the door behind him.
The Gate had been meant to save the empire from tis current state of stagnation, but apparently he had just unleashed something even worse. He had to make plans on how to rectify this mistake before it was too late.

The interdimensional temple of Vertigo, the residence of the Urth's pantheon was a maddening labyrinth, which could drive any mortal mind insane simply by being exposed to the raw magical energy of the plane. It was quite literally another plane of reality, that didn't follow the laws of physics. Mortals stuck in this labyrinth and unlucky enough to not find their way out were bound to completely lose their minds and became little more than cowering and moaning lunatics.
For Vertigo it had been the ideal place to hide, scheme and make plans when she had been at the war against the other dino gods. For Sauron it was a bit of a nuisance to get around, but over time he had learned to navigate through it by relying on his sense of smell. And for their brood, it was their home, their birthplace and they knew it like the back of their hands. Perhaps even better than their mother, considering how often the young broodlings had successfully hidden themselves and ambushed her when they had been young.
In any case, this was where the dino gods resided in. And it was here that they were gathered to decide what to do with this gate to the other world. Gathered in a truly gargantuan chamber to house all of the gods, their god-king and god-queen stood in the middle on an elevated platform. Some of them wanted nothing to do with the gate, but they would not tolerate any attack on their territory without retaliation. Some were more extreme and wished the other world to burn with nothing left alive. All of them were united that something had to be done and that such an attack needed to be avenged. The growling, snarling, hissing and roaring among the younger gods grew louder and louder as all of them argued with one another until Sauron unleashed a loud roar, silencing all his children at once. Even when he was no longer mad with endless hunger, he was still an imposing figure that commanded the respect of his own brood.
Finally, Vertigo came to a decision after much contemplation. At the end, the labyrinth was subjected to a chorus of roars.
For the first time in their reign, the dino gods of Urth were going to war.

The encampment around the sacred Alnus Hill had become somewhat calm again after the gate had mysteriously cut off. Several scout had been sent through to check on the situation, but the results were always the same. The gate apparently had been cut off after the vanguard had passed through. At first, the soldiers suspected that the gate had been closed, despite the structure still being there and its purpose being to keep it open as legends and texts said that it would only be open for a short amount of time. However, when the scouts returned, they said that it was still connected to the other side, but it had been blocked with stone.
Immediately, the morale of the soldiers was lifted once more as they saw it as a sign that the enemy on the other side had chosen a cowardly option to run and hide instead of facing them off in combat. The higher ups immediately sent a courier to deliver the news to the capital as well as a request for the deployment of ogres to break through the barricade. Ogres were largely uncontrollable humanoid creatures, known notoriously for being man-eating monsters, but once subjugated by the Empire these elephant sized monsters were incredibly effective when it came to breaking through defenses in siege battles. It was a shame the Empire didn't have a lot nor given them any at the start. Still, even if the courier was going to return with siege weapons, it would be fine. The wall would fall and the Empire would launch the second wave of invasive forces.
However, the mages, who were with the army, were not as excited about this at all. No, they were very concerned, saying that a spell to block the gate like this could only have been cast by a very powerful mage. The soldiers just brushed them off or told them to go back to their city of Rondel to go back to reading tomes. Not that it was surprising. Magic in general was not seen for its versatile uses in the Empire due to how rarely magic was gifted to people. For that reason, it was never actively used in the military or any other field within the infrastructure. The mages of Rondel, the city dedicated to ,the twin gods of learning and researching often kept their secrets for themselves. Only when the news of the gate opening had reached the ears of Emperor Molt Sol Augustus, he had sent negotiators to Rondel along with a hefty sum of funds for their knowledge to construct the gate in order in order to keep it open.
Ancient texts revealed that the Gate was a creation of the gods, leading to other realms and apparently also being the starting point for all sentient races on Falmart, which is why all the races in their legends named Alnus Hill the origin of their kind with the humans that were the Saderans ancestors being the latest ones. But the gate was only meant to be open for a very short period of time, not enough to launch a military invasion. So the gate had to be kept open in order to allow troops to be sent to the other side and safely return without them being stranded in that other realm with the spoils of war.
The Empire had been stagnating for a while now. Being a nation that thrived on conquest, a time of peace was only good as long as resources were there to maintain the realm. Afterwards, new territory would be needed to be conquered. Unfortunately, the Saderan Empire already dominated most of the continent with the surrounding smaller kingdoms and nations being the Empire's vassals. The empire also couldn't just absorb its vassals as it would mean that they would most likely ally against it. Plus as things were already, the resources were already spread out so thinly that they couldn't even conquer new territory if they wanted to. The last meaningful campaign had been 3 years ago against the Warrior Bunnies in the Northeast, ending with the victory of the Empire. But the warrior bunnies had been a primitive race without much riches to plunder. The only thing the Empire got from the ordeal had been slaves or more specifically sex slaves. The gate had been meant to change that, to invade a realm that hopefully would provide the Empire with the much needed riches to progress further.
All around Alnus Hill, the troops were staying in tents.
But one morning they were awoken by a thundering sound. Immediately, the people jumped to their feet and looked around. There was no clouds in the clear blue skies and the only possible source they could make out was the gate. Then upon closer hearing, they noticed that it was not thunder, but the sounds of rocks breaking and falling. At first, they thought the gate was collapsing and the leading general was ready to demand answers from the mages, but there was nothing wrong with the gate.
Immediately, he sent a scout over to check on the gate. Over the course of the last week, the scout had climbed up the hill to the gate regularly. The path was something he knew quite well already. He also had went to the other side to see the wall of rocks erected at its entrance without a way through, before safely returning back to the camp, reporting his findings to his commanding officer and returning to his station.
And yet, he felt nothing but dread crawl up his spine as he approached the gate. Other than the strange noises earlier, there was nothing different than the other days. Still, he knew something was different no matter how much he told himself it was not.
Then he stood in front of the gate, the pitch black darkness staring back at him like the maw of a massive beast...
Only for him to be bitten down upon by a giant pair of jaws and disappear screaming in the darkness of the tunnel. Shock ran through the troops at this gruesome sight and sounds of flesh being torn apart and blood being spilled.
At last, Sauron and Vertigo came out of the gate, the former still having its mouth drip with the fresh blood of his latest victim. Looking at the area around Alnus Hill, Vertigo could already identify all sorts of things. The type of soil, the sparse vegetation, places that could likely be more defended than others. Once they saw how many of their enemies had amassed in this place, both dino gods let out growls and hisses of anger.
"Don't falter men." One of the lieutenants said. "They are but large monsters. Let's show them the Empire's might. For the Empire!" The soldiers rushed to their weapons, grabbed whatever they had before falling right into formations that had been drilled into their minds by the harsh training of the Saderan Empire. Sauron merely let out a roar at the sight of the soldiers scrambling together to defy them, but Vertigo on the other hand was amused at this. To her, the Saderan troops were acting like a cornered animal, trying their best to appears larger and stronger than they truly were in hopes to deter a predator while also deluding themselves into thinking they were stronger than they truly were. If it wasn't amusing her, she'd call the sight of the army of humans and non-human auxillaries charging up the hill at her and her mate pathetic.
But as pathetic as these creatures were, they might as well amuse her a bit more as she sent Sauron a short hiss. The tyrannosaurid dino god merely snorted before he moved aside instead of charging at the army head on.
When both two dino gods stepped away from the Gate's entrance, something else emerged that made the whole army freeze dead in their tracks. Their charge was completely broken as they raised their gaze higher and higher just to meet a pair of emerald reptilian eyes. What had emerged from the Gate was a serpentine creature so massive that its head barely even fit through the structure. Its body was covered in blue scales with black stripes much like those of their mother. By the time it emerged, only a pair of small front legs had emerged alongside the head and neck of the beast as the rest of the creature remained inside the Gate.
They were Oros, the "Runt" of the First Brood.
While all children of Sauron and Vertigo inherited some traits from either parent, there was also those who only got something from one and then those who inherited from both. And Oros was a runt. Perhaps it was the two divine powers mixing that caused such mutations or just him receiving the unfavorable genes of both of his parents as he had inherited his father's tyrannosaurid head, but also his stubby arms on a long serpentine body which he clearly had gotten from his mother. With other words, he looked like a serpent with a t-rex's head and four limbs too small to support the snake like body.
Because of this, Oros' siblings often bullied the weakest of the cluster, but Vertigo and Sauron loved them all. And this love brought forth something phenomenal. Oros had inherited not only the physical traits, but also partially powers from both. The earth shattering roar and physical strength of Sauron combined with the cunning and venom of Vertigo was a dangerous combination. On top of that, Oros grew larger than any of his other siblings. His head alone was even larger and longer than either of his parents' entire bodies at this point and he was still growing and shedding his skin in regular intervals, even if those intervals now had slowed over the years and currently were in the range of mulitple decades. Because of this, he mainly stuck to the seas of Urth where his form would be supported by the water and food was aplenty, while otherwise spending his time within his own chamber within the labyrinth of his parents.
But when on land, Oros' whole body was like an landslide given will. Trees snapped like matches under his weight and hills were crushed under his scales. The footprints and traces became small lakes and swamps. And if he really wanted to, he could reduce entire landscapes into barren wastelands devoid of all life simply by slithering all over it and crushing all beneath his bulk. Therefore, unleashing him as the vanguard of the dino gods' invasion was both to completely annihilate the enemy to not give them any chance to regroup and organize a counter offensive and to severely cripple them logistically.
And so he did. With a speed unbefitting such a titanic creature, Oros lunged forward and plowed through the enemy lines like a hurricane. Bodies were sent flying as well as blood and gore as the massive offspring of Sauron and Vertigo crushed the imperial soldiers under his bulk. But he didn't stop at the front lines. Taking sharp turns and not slowing down, Oros literally snaked his way through the entire encampment of the Saderan army, entering the world of Falmart completely and already leaving behind a field of crushed corpses.
"RETREAT! RETREAT!"
"MONSTER!"
"GET ME OUT OF HERE! I'M THE SON OF- AHH!"
The cries and screams of the soldiers were drowned out by the thundering sound with which Oros slithered across the ground, cutting off retreating groups of soldiers and simply crushing them. That didn't mean that they didn't try to fight back, though nothing they did worked. Swords, arrows and spears alike broken and splintered upon striking the hard scales, while the fiery breath of dragon-riding cavalry harmlessly washed over them like a hot summer wind. Those flying riders were also no safe from Oros, who unexpectedly lunged upwards and opened its maw, revealing rows upon rows of sharp teeth, before shutting it upon the riders and their mounts.
To him this was not a fight, it was merely an extermination of vermin. It was simply so that he might as well be a child crushing ants between his talons.
The serpentine dino god reared his head high into the air like a cobra ready to strike. Then he exhaled the most destructive weapon in his arsenal. His venom was also poisonous when turned into a gaseous state. While not corrosive like the one of some of his siblings, it still was a very potent toxin. The soldiers were engulfed into a greenish mist, before immediately being infected with the toxins, causing them extreme pain and bleeding as the blood vessels in their eyes, noses and ears burst open. Falling to the ground they tried to cover their faces as blood ran through their fingers. In less than a heartbeat, the entire Saderan military force was silenced and thousands of lives lost.
Once silence fully descended upon the lands around the hill, Oros let out a loud earth-shattering roar into the sky in victory. The mist was soon swept away by the wind, revealing a desolate land filled with corpses. Oros flicked his tongue, tasting the air now awash with the scent of death, before turning to the Gate and calling out with a bellowing roar as the rest of the dino gods marched forth. Vertigo and Sauron watched as their children marchthrough and bore witness to the destruction their brother had wrought. With a content hiss, Vertigo turned her gaze towards the north. There laid their first primary target, Sadera.
From Alnus Hill, they would now spread out. If the gate really was a creation of the local gods, then the Empire was merely a symptom of the disease, but they were the cause of it. And the dino gods would cut out both of them.
And that concludes this chapter.
Don't you love it when gods who think themselves as almighty and flawless get ruined by this very disbelief? I for my part find it quite relaxing.
Charging in blindly into another world, simply for entertainment is perhaps one of the worst things anyone can do. These gods got what they deserved and now the way is made for Sauron and Vertigo's brood to start their conquest of other realms. But which realm do you think they will invade next? Let me know in the reviews.
Have a nice day and I'll see you again to read another chapter of this story.
