Summary/disclaimer: It is time for another chapter of Tear Doused in Fire. Enjoy the 2300-word chapter. I do not own Steven Universe. Rebecca Sugar and a few others do.

Peridot seemed to be fascinated by just WHAT Lapis had brought. She knew what it was. She was a genius among gems and knew so much about Gem Culture that she could easily figure out this.

Granted? Peridot was confounded. She had NEVER seen a gem like this as Yellow Diamond was supposed to have killed the last of that group.

"Where did you find a… Onyx? Pyroxene? Where is my dictionary?" Peridot asked as she flipped open a holographic guide made by a Robonoid.

There was something else upon her mind as she thought of things…

There was something new, something new and odd. The gemstone she was dealing with was supposed to be destroyed, wiped out.

Granted? She did not know a lot of different things. She was curious as she thought of things.

"What is a Pyroxene?" Lapis heard before Peridot hummed.

"A gemstone that should not exist. The diamonds destroyed them all…. But it is odd, they were never listed in the gem caste system." Peridot added, scrolling down.

"Why? Is this supposed to blow up planets?" Lapis asked as Peridot hummed.

"They were terraforming gems like you so yes… All I heard is they also used to be used as executioners as well…. They were all destroyed." Peridot stated.

She was curious about what this gem was doing here. There was a single crack upon it… Granted? The Diamonds were not the only ones who could heal it.

When Steven left?

He thought gems could be harmed and he could not heal them.

There was a machine made which harnessed some of his essence.

It was not pure; it was not like him.

He was curious what it was when the machine had been made once more.

There was too much to deal with for now as she came crashing down to the ground upon what was growing upon his mind.

There were problems with using technology to fix gems but they were odd once more and it was too much for now to deal with and for a good reason.

There were a lot of different things to deal with now and for a good reason.

Lapis was curious about what was being done.

What she knew of this gem was next to nothing but she did not want it to come crashing down to the ground. Lapis was curious as to how this would have been as she watched Peridot slowly work on the gem.

She had no real clue what they had done and why they had done much.

Lapis was curious as she needed to know something about them while Peridot paused to think.

She paused work to find an answer to this. Their gem was different, she felt very different now as she paused to understand what they were and why they were so different.

"So, they could smash planets?" Lapis asked as Peridot hummed, shrugging for a moment.

"Somewhat… They were used as terraforming gems… They were used later to end up destroying rebellious worlds." Peridot stated as she paused, curious now.

It was enough now and enough for her now.

Lapis reached out towards the gem as the cracks seemed to slowly be healed. She felt odd seeing another gem like this, so weak and helpless.

It reminded her of herself, she was an odd person. Yet?

Lapis said nothing as she did not know what to say.

It was enough now and good… Lapis still felt drawn to this gem, curious why she felt such concern for an object not meant for her to hold.

She knew little of what it was or why it was this.

Granted? Lapis was no scientist nor was she some gifted researcher who knew such delights. She was a mere Lapis gem, a powerful one but still mortal in terms of scope and that which could not wish to be understood.

Wait, him? She did not know this gem and yet she felt it was calling to her. There was nothing but power, nothing but it was power that they were calling to her.

And they called loudly to her, she felt as if they were screaming in abject agony for now and for a good reason.

It was too much to distract themselves for now at the end of it all when it came down to it.

She was too much to deal with at the end of it.

Lapis was curious just WHAT he was and how he was doing this now.

She felt drawn to it before Peridot went to smack her away in a panic.

It was too late, the second her fingers graced the gem.

There was an explosion of fire and light as the gem reformed.

Lapis knew well enough to shield herself with her wings but the explosion shattered everything beyond Peridot and the shielded tech.

When it had dissipated? Lapis was left staring at the gem who glared around the room, eyes glowing.

They were different in every way to Lapis just as Peridot had read upon.

Lapis was not tall very or very imposing.

They were almost the size of a small bear and with the muscles to match.

Lapis wore nothing but simple clothes while they had old-fashioned but still high-tech armor. What little she could see was work clothes or something similar.

They had puffy crimson hair and eyes that burned like stars… But before she could react? The gem did?

"NEVER GOING BACK!" They roared before smashing a hand into the wall.

A second later the impact made it burst into flames.

Peridot and Lapis were forced to duck as flames engulfed it.

Not just flames but the GROUND erupted with hateful magma which covered the ground.

Lapis grabbed Peridot as she used the console to erect a shield around the viewing podium.

And then the gem was gone, running into the depths of Little Homeworld as Lapis drew her wings.

"Lapis, no! That is a Pyroxene! They have enough power to level CITIES!" Peridot shouted but her words fell on deaf ears.

Lapis flew after them. It was not hard when their fleeing left trails of fire and magma all over the beach as sand melted into glass.

"Never take me… I'M NOT GOING BACK!" They roared, lava spattering from the part of their helmet where the mouth was.

"STOP!" Lapis hissed, forming a dozen water chains from the ocean.

"LEAVE ME ALONE! I WON'T LET HER CAGE ME AGAIN! SHE WILL NOT TAKE ME AGAIN!" Lapis heard as the gem easily burned her water into steam.

Lapis watched as fire and heat burst from his arms. She knew the gem was a male by just how guttural their voice was.

"The Diamonds are done!" Lapis hissed as the gem growled.

"NOT DIAMOND! HALITE! HALITE!" They roared, smashing a fist into the beach.

Peridot could only watch as fire and magma erupted from the ocean and sand.

Pyroxenes were among the most destructive gems.

Now Peridot was seeing why as the portion of the beach seemed to be melting into fire.

It was too much to deal with for now as he paused to strike at the end of it all too much. Lapis paused now and was good to deal with for now at the end.

He was furious…. He was curious at the time as he glared at her, fire burning from his eyes as he thought of her.

"YOU WILL NOT TRAP ME AGAIN!" Pyroxene hissed, smashing his hands into the ground as fire and magma exploded from the sands and beaches.

Lapis was forced to use the ocean to combat these tendrils of pure flame. Lapis knew there was pain inside him as he glared at the end of the day and paused.

"Who trapped you?" Lapis asked as they glared at him. "You…." Pyroxene heard.

Lapis slowly started to walk forward as tendrils of fire and magma erupted from the ground. She did her best to knock both pieces of fire aside and she looked at him.

Lapis was curious just who this was. She could feel pain and hate from him and it was erupting from him.

She knew blasted well but she was curious why he was like this… But she had to stop him and she did not want to hurt him, she had chosen by Steven to promise him she would try things his way.

So? She walked closer as Peridot gasped.

"Lapis, no! He will burn your gem to ash!" Peridot yelled as Pyroxene started to swat more fire at Lapis. "You cannot contain flames that hot! That is pure magma!" Peridot bellowed.

Before she could say anything? Lapis had already moved, flinging herself at the gem. She knew there was one way Steven would approve of so she decided to try that.

Pyroxene lashed at her but she dodged it, wrapping her arms and wings around him and then drawing a shell of water from the ocean around the scorching gem. Peridot watched as fire and water mixed and she…

Hugged the terraforming gem with the power to ignite Earth's Atmosphere if he burned too hot?

"GET OFF, DON'T TOUCH ME!" Pyroxene roared as the flames and water began to mix into steam. "GET OFF! I WILL NEVER LET HER GET ME, NEVER! I AM NOT HER WEAPON!" Pyroxene roared.

"No… Calm down!" Lapis hissed as she looked at the gem. "Nobody wants to hurt you, calm down!" Lapis hissed as Pyroxene growled.

"NO! I CAN'T LET HER GET ME!" Pyroxene hissed as flames erupted like serpents. "I DON'T WANT TO BE A WEAPON ANYMORE! SHE LOCKED ME AWAY! I WAS ALONE!" Pyroxene hissed.

Lapis could see pinpricks of light coming down from the eye lenses… And then burning.

He was crying, he was crying like he had been kicked and beaten.

"Calm down… Trust me," Lapis said as she continued said hug.

"My friend would want you to calm down," Lapis spoke.

"I cannot… I cannot let her use me." Pyroxene stated, the flames crackling.

It was too much to deal with and he cracked his fists. Lapis felt pain and she shook his head before she looked to the side at the end.

Lapis felt pain as water and fire mixed. She would hear the hissing of the water bubble she had conjured around them.

"I cannot… I do not want to be alone." Pyroxene stated before he sighed. "I can't…" Pyroxene before he closed his eyes, his voice starting to crack.

Lapis felt both begin to become one as she paused to blink. She would have hated it but knew how well this could have happened as he wrapped his arms around her in a bow.

"Lapis!" Peridot yelled.

The fires and water smashed down to the ground, the fire collapsed and then vanished.

When Peridot opened her eyes? The two gems had combined into 1 as Gems often did. They were fused as it seemed Lapis had done before.

The being in front of Peridot was tall, perhaps taller than Opal or even Sugilite. She could see nothing but blue and red skin turning into lines of purple, the being had messy purple hair tied into a ponytail at the end which went down to their knees.

They had 2 sets of eyes, both crimson and blue, and 4 arms.

Both arms were blue and red, turning purple at their hands.

Their gems, Lapis on her back, and the Pyroxene's on their chest… It looked like Lapis's crop top had joined with their armor, exposing their arms and part of their belly. They looked like an armored warrior and Peridot blinked.

"How… How are you?" Lapis said before their voices mixed. "I… That hurts."

That other part was the fusion. It seemed it had stabilized and the being wrapped their arms around themselves as if they would break the second, they stopped.

"It hurts… It hurts, it HURTS…" The gem hissed.

Tears of fire steamed down their cheeks as one set of their arms rested on the ground for balance and the other continued hugging themselves.

"I… Will go get the others." Peridot said before she ran off, unsure of how else to deal with this.

"How did you live like this?" The gem asked itself.

(Inside the fusion)

Fusion had left a bad taste in Lapis's mind. She knew they did not mean to but she had no way to stop herself when it happened.

"NO! This… I…" Lapis heard as she turned to see Pyroxene. "Why!? Did she tell you? Did she want her precious weapon back!? Is that all I am to you!? A WEAPON!?" Lapis heard as Pyroxene roared.

"You… I have felt this pain." Lapis stated as Pyroxene recoiled.

"You… I feel pain. How did you… How did you LIVE with that suffering?" Pyroxene asked as Lapis frowned.

"I did not… I just wanted to HATE back then." Lapis said as she walked up to Pyroxene. "As much as I HATE this? I made a promise to my friend…. Now…" Lapis said before she took his hand.

"I am Lapis… And I want to help you."

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! A few things!

Pyroxene is supposed to be a terraforming gem like Lapis hence super strong fire powers… This will be explained next chapter.

Yes. Both Lapis and Pyroxene HATE fusion… I simply wanted to show said fusion and it will explain their feelings next chapter on it. I also wanted to show Lapis trying to help others like Steven would. Also? I will continue describing their fusion next chapter.

3? Steven will be appearing… Here and there. This takes place AFTER Future.

The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and show Lapis and Pyroxene interacting. The gems meeting the fusion and talking and more on the villain. Until the 900-6500 words, Lighting Wolf out!
