Chapter 1, trying out for the voice
I don't own Nashville all rights belong to their creators and distributors.
The only character I own is my character, Serena, darling.
and her family I should say her adopted family all right then in the villains and heroes that are not part of the Nashville Canon.
OK now Serena will try to try out for the voice, but some things will go wrong like things always do and things go right soon.
this is where it starts.

One year later
2009
I was getting ready for my audition. I made it through the purse some plum rounds and I was gonna try out for the blind auditions in California. Mother and father had me ready to go. They were ready to go with me on this plane ride they were gonna send me on my own. I mean, I was a 19 year old after all be careful they said I'll be fine. I said packing my things. I couldn't wait to meet the coaches. This is gonna be so much fun.
and if it doesn't work out then at least I said I tried this out at least right and I'm still young so I can come back anytime to try again and again and again.
it's not like with American Idol, where they have a certain age limit of 28 which sucks but for the voice, it doesn't matter.
this was season two and oh my gosh this is gonna be great.
my tickets were ready to go. I was getting ready to get on the plane to go to California.
I was gonna be away from home for the first time in a long time, even though I went to Nashville to go to school this was the first time I'd ever been away from my parents for weeks maybe even months without coming home on weekends.
everything packed and ready to go I'll have to stay in a hotel by myself. Maybe I can get a roommate that would be nice. Wouldn't it?
but as I was getting onto my plane, something happened somehow my ticket was swapped and I was kidnapped and I was put on the wrong plane. I was still going to the voice, but I was put on the wrong plane. I watched as my plane to California took off, luckily my luggage hadn't been sent yet. I was surrounded by luggage.
great what happened? Why can't I not go to California? And what happened to my plane?
this wasn't good no this wasn't good at all my plane was gone and I had to figure out what I was gonna do.
what was I gonna do next?
I felt my arms in my baggage being put onto the conveyor belt to a different plane and I was forced onto a different plane. I sat down in a chair and I was off. Where was I going? Why isn't this correct? What is going on and why am I not going to California?
The flight said London, what London why was I going all the way to London England I mean, it sounds cool and all that I'll be going to England but it'll be a lot longer flight into California. I'll be on this site for several days. This is not right. I did not sign up to go to the voice and account in London no no no.
I guess I'll make the best of it.
I'll see the sites I'll go to Buckingham Palace but this is not what I was expecting. Maybe I can have tea with the queen even though that wouldn't be something I would normally want to do with a young woman like me at 19 from America going to England well, I guess this will have to do, and like I said, I'll try to make the best of it.
maybe I can have some British food that would be nice but I'm not on a pleasure trip. I'm here to be on the voice. I guess they're making sure I get that I guess.
Mom and Dad will be surprised when I call them on my cell phone and tell them that I'm in London instead of California.
well, I'll try to make the best of it.
I said on my flight and sat there for hours days never took to get to London.
then the plane landed.
I got off the plane and waited for the people to come pick me up because I couldn't drive myself.

I was alone and saw the London airport I was confused about everyone who was speaking British I couldn't speak British at all and I was a southern bell obviously, I hoped I was not the only American there. I heard an American voice. It was soft and beautiful. It was nice sounding out of all the Brits here. I saw him too. He had beautiful blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair. Unlike me, you had a mixture of light brown colored hair and brown eyes. I looked like Rayna James. I didn't know that for sure, but I knew I didn't look like my family that I lived with, but this boy was beautiful even more beautiful than me.
I had a guitar stab to his back and he was wearing jeans. I wasn't but he was. I was wearing a cute little sundress with cute sandals. He's wearing blue jeans a button-up and a cowboy hat. He must be a country singer like me or want to be.
He also had boots on.
they looked expensive too like really expensive cowboy boots. I own pairs of boots too, and I had boots in my bag, but still.
I thought he was hot and he had this beautiful smile.
and he had an American southern accent like me which helped a lot too even if he wasn't accented at least here a fellow American would help me feel better.
also, I want to know who kidnapped me and put me on the wrong flight in the first place. Maybe this guy can help that would be wonderful if he could help me out.
maybe we can be friends that would be nice too. I need a friend here in London.
all right here I go. I extend my hand to him. Hello, I am Serena Serena what he asked was your last name Serena darling I said oh what a beautiful name. He says I'm Daniel Peace what brings a pretty thing like you here to London I wasn't supposed to come to London. I said I was supposed to be in California maybe it was fate that brought you here he said smiling at me with that beautiful smile maybe I can help you out that would be nice. I said I don't understand a lot of people who are speaking in British and I am not Britain. I'm not either he says.
wow, you're really pretty. He says thanks I said you are good-looking too. Do you want to be a country singer too he knows. Yes, I'm thinking of going back to America after I win, or if I don't win, I can at least get a record deal there there are producers here too from America as well and knotted, OK maybe we can both get on the same team that would be nice, wouldn't it?
I can see you have a white cane. Are you blind? I am I said looking at him as best as I could. Yes, I am visually impaired are legally blind. I said well I'm getting me a rental car. Why don't I drive us to the hotel, I know where we're staying and I think I should take you since you can't drive yourself and knot, that is nice of you I said.
it be better than walking and taking a bus I said yes he said it would be.
OK, I'll let you take me besides I have I have. I didn't even have a bus ticket. What were you planning on how to do it if you're going to the warning California I'm not sure but I was gonna have someone take me.
here we go he said getting a rental car and we got inside the rental car. This will be our car for the time. What would happen if one of us gets voted off hopefully I get voted off before you why because if you go, who's gonna drive me places I can't drive? I'll figure out a way for you to get transportation. He says even if I get cut, I will try to stay here in London to take care of you. I'm not OK thank you
is the least I can do he says and I'll help you figure out what happened and why you were sent here instead of England I mean instead of sent to London you are in London I mean California he says thanks I would gladly help for that too I said he reaches over and squeezes my hand is the least I can do for you he says.
we finally made it to the hotel. He took us to the room that we were going to stay in. I know we're not sharing the same room, but I'll be here nearby. He says and shakes his hand again. I want to hug him, but he's a stranger to me maybe up on the same team and that would be nice. Even if we are not on the same team at least we'll be near each other.
we didn't get to meet who our coaches will be, but we met the producer of the show, Jimmy. He looked at me and looked his lips at me. I did not like the way he was looking at me a sexy American. He says Daniel walks over and puts a hand on me you will not he says, I will he says did you kidnap her? Oh, I don't know he says maybe I'm not sure he says I was the only one he walked over and kissed my hands. I did not like him kissing my hand pull me closer to him. It was a stranger too, but he already earned my trust, and being my friend that awful guy ain't gonna touch you he says if any creepy man tried to touch you remember to hit them Why defend yourself precious he says you're a girl in London from America. These Brits can be a little off at times OK I'll keep that in mind he and his partner Jamie also came up. They were both record producers at the same time and producers at the show. Jamie was the record producer and Jimmy was the record show producer he was creepy too. I hit him when he touched me. That's a girl. Daniel said as he wrapped me close, you will not hurt Serena he says.
when she's blind, how dare you hit a blind girl?
the other people were not that way there were a lot of nice people there and nice British people around me besides those two.
there are some other great people around me. One woman came up and introduced herself as Kate. She was a British singer trying out as well. She shakes my hand. Nice to meet you, Serena. Where are you from? She asked in her British accent. I'm from America. I said oh, she says she says again maybe I can be a friend of yours as well. That would be nice. Wouldn't it? Daniel said maybe she can drive you around if I get kicked off early oh, I would love to that would be great.
one as women need to stick together to an odd you're right Kate we should we women should stick together.
never thought of coming to America I don't know yet she said, but if I do, it would be great for me as well.
I'd like that very much I said have a friend from England to come visit me in America how wonderful.
now it was time a day after we got ready for blind auditions.
blind auditions round one
I stepped out onto the stage. I was first I was nervous. Daniel told me it would be OK cause he was in the first round of auditions too. I'll be second after you OK then you'll put a comforting hand on my shoulder. OK, Daniel, I said in.
I stepped out on stage. The people cheered when they saw me and I saw my song a song would've Rena James as biggest hit the crowd loved it, and it turned all four chairs.
I didn't know who to pick as my coach. I didn't know a lot of the people here in England if it was America I know who I would pick, but since I wasn't in America, I couldn't pick.
one man one of the coaches looked at me and picked me to be on his team. I was hesitant a bit. I didn't want to pick him, but he picked me well. That is fine. I thought you could pick me I guess but I didn't like him.
he said his name was Oliver and he picked me so I walked and put on his team.
did my new friend he performed next he was on the opposite team. He didn't know a lot of the people here either we picked a different team. Kate wasn't performing tonight. She was in the next round of auditions.
after it was over, Daniel came over to me and said it's OK we're still friends. I nodded. Yes, we are friends and I'm glad about it good we'll celebrate that we both joined The Voice and we will be friends even though we will compete. I still promise that I will be going with you around the world, I know that I have gotten a guidebook. It will show us every place in London since we will no longer have to do anything for a bit until the next round of auditions we can. I know it's OK but I wanna watch Kate. We can. The performances aren't until nighttime and we can watch Kate perform tomorrow night.
OK, this will be exciting. I thought.
I'm ending this chapter here. I want the tour of London and Kate's performance to be in the next performance next chapter. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you enjoy my first chapter as well. I think this will be a good one. all right I'll see you in chapter 2.
