This is a supplementary guide I made for anyone interested in reading my Destiny series - Chasing Fate - who is new to the Destiny universe or just wants a place where character information is organized. It covers basic background information needed to understand the series. I plan to update it based on story releases as well as requests.

5. Race: Awoken

THE AWOKEN are a race of humans that were transformed upon entering a singularity at the Boundary of Light and Dark.

Appearance: The Awoken have glowing eyes and skin pigmentation that ranges between shades of light blue and light purple.

History: During the Collapse, a colony ship named the Yang Liwei was on the verge of leaving the system. When the Traveler made its last stand against the Darkness, a shockwave of Light and Dark hit the Yang Liwei, sending it through a black hole into another dimension and transforming its passengers. Later, some of the Awoken made their way back into Sol and set up a civilization on the Reef.

Characteristics: The Awoken are a matriarchal society ruled by a Queen. Although no longer in their home dimension, they still possess abilities beyond the normal, such as heightened senses and low-level telepathy or telekinesis.
