Hey guys! I'm backkkk! Ahh, I'm so excited to back writing for this couple! It's brought back a lot of great memories!
So, I have decided to rewrite this instead of just adding on to it! It will mostly be the same, but I have changed and added a few things soooo I definitely recommend rereading it even if you've recently reread the old story recently.
One of the main things is, back when I was writing it the first time, someone told me that I should have had Santana know sign language for when she is in situations that she can't use her voice. I thought it was a great idea, but I had already been too far into the story to just add it in suddenly. So now, that I am rewriting it, I am definitely adding it in and it will be a big part of the story now!
Anyway! I hope you guys enjoy!
Happy reading!
Santana walks into the halls of McKinley High, clad in her khakis and a maroon sweater that's a size too big for her. She's got her head down and her eyes glued to the floor, watching in front of her as she takes each careful step and trying to avoid making eye contact with any other students. She absolutely hates going to school and one of the worst parts about it is walking through these crowded hallways with a bunch of riled up teenagers not paying attention to anything or caring who they bump into.
She'd asked her mom a few years ago if she could be homeschooled, but she knew that wasn't going to happen. Her mom works long hours during the days, and it was pretty expensive to hire someone to come in and do it. Her mom is a doctor and makes pretty good money, but Santana still didn't want her to have to spend the money on something like that. She's already having to pay for speech therapy and regular therapy for her.
She figures her mom has sacrificed enough for her.
Money and things not involving money.
Plus, her mom thinks that going to school will help her.
As well as her therapist.
She doesn't think that's true.
She's been struggling for years now, and she doesn't really feel like she's getting any better.
Not when it comes to walking around high school anyway.
She doesn't completely panic at the grocery store or out in random places like she used to when she was a child, so she supposes it's progress. But teenagers are just unpredictable and wild. Especially the stupid jocks that run around playing football in the middle of a crowded hallway.
And they're loud.
So loud.
Nobody usually pays her much attention though. Even when people bump into her, they barely give her a second look.
Although some of the kids do seek her out just to be mean or bully her. But for the most part, she's able to stay pretty invisible.
The only person that really seems to know she exists, other than teachers, is her best friend Tina.
Tina is almost as shy and socially awkward as Santana is, but not quite.
She'd stayed to herself all her time through school until a few weeks into freshman year. Tina had approached her before class started one day towards the end of freshman year. It made Santana nervous to see her standing over her desk, but Tina had just given her a polite smile and then sat down next to her.
She'd told her that she didn't have any friends either and that they should stick together. That they should at least have one friend at this stupid school.
Santana hadn't really minded being alone, she actually preferred it most of the time. But she couldn't lie and say she didn't warm up to Tina. At first, they'd just sat together in their shared classes and then they had started to eat lunch together. They'd just sat in silence, but it wasn't an awkward silence. It was comforting, just knowing there was someone there with you.
And then they'd paired up on a science project together. And Santana isn't actually sure when it happened because it was a slow process, but they'd become best friends. Like friends that actually hang out outside of school together.
She's actually really glad that Tina had approached her that one day, freshman year. She had never really had a friend before, so she hadn't realized what she'd been missing out on.
Plus, her mom and brother were over the moon that she'd made a friend. It was almost embarrassing how happy they were for her, but she was just glad that maybe they'd worry about her a little less.
Santana gets pulled from her thoughts when she feels someone collide into her. Her heart starts beating faster in her chest and she squeezes her eyes closed, just waiting for someone to yell at her or even shove or hit her. But nothing ever comes. She swallows hard and opens her eyes, "Watch where you're going, freak," some guy mumbles before continuing down the hallway.
She takes a minute to get her breathing back to normal and then slowly continues down the hallway.
She's okay.
Santana sees Tina a few feet away at her locker. They weren't lucky enough to have lockers next to each other. However, Tina was lucky enough to get one on the end of the row and her only neighbor is stoner Brett who is totally harmless. He's never even at his locker, probably because he doesn't remember where it is.
Santana on the other hand was on the other side of the school and stuck in between a Cheerio and some guy on the Rugby team. She's actually started carrying most of her books around all day just to avoid having to go to her locker. It can be a pain sometimes, because it makes her backpack heavy, and she has to even carry a couple of them sometimes because they won't even fit in the bag. But it's better than getting slushied or ridiculed by them.
Tina had told her to just ask them to move her, but she couldn't do that. She never wants to burden anyone or make them go through the trouble. It probably wasn't even allowed anyway, because then everyone would be wanting to move around to be next to their friends or partners.
Tina said that they would understand, knowing her situation. But Santana still didn't want to ask.
Even though sometimes she does require special attention because of her situation, she tries to just convince herself and everyone else that she's normal and that everything is fine.
It's probably not the best thing to do because she realizes that sometimes she does need the extra help. But even if she's not a normal teenager, she wants to be one. She hates the way they talk to her, like she's a child or she's an idiot.
She has an anxiety disorder, she's not 5.
She quickly makes her way over to Tina, gripping tighter onto her backpack as she walks through the crowd, trying not to get trampled. It doesn't help considering how small she is and how it feels like almost everyone in this school is twice her size.
That's probably an exaggeration but she is still small. She knows there's probably no hope for her getting any bigger either. Her brother is massive, but he's always been a lot taller and stockier than the other boys in his grade. Her dad is pretty tall, from what she remembers and muscular, but she obviously didn't get any of that from him.
She's not mad about it because she doesn't really want anything from him.
Her mother is tiny though and Santana is already a little taller than her mom, which is really saying something.
"Hey Santana," Tina greets with a smile as soon as she sees her.
Santana immediately smiles back at her and gives her a small wave. She reaches up and adjusts her glasses before letting her hands grip onto her backpack once again. She leans up against the wall next to Tina's locker as the other girl finishes loading things into her backpack.
A group of Cheerio's walks by and all of their eyes find Santana and Tina. Santana can see them looking them both up and down. Santana's fingers grip tighter to her backpack, and she swallows hard just waiting for whatever insult they are going to throw her way. But the girls just whisper to each other and giggle, probably saying very mean things about the two girls as they continue walking down the hallway.
They were probably laughing at her clothes, that's what it normally is. Or they just call her stupid and some other offensive words related to being stupid, but she doesn't like to even repeat those in her head.
Santana is definitely not the most fashionable. She mainly just wears jeans that are a little too big for her, because she doesn't like her clothes being tight against her skin. And then normally a sweater, a hoodie, or a button up shirt. She doesn't look completely hideous, but she definitely doesn't put too much thought into her outfits. She tries to wear pretty boring and bland things, because she doesn't want the attention. She definitely doesn't look for what's in style at that moment or worry about brand name things. But she supposes that it still gets her attention because most of the other girls try to be super stylish.
She's pretty sure they'd make fun of her for anything that she wears. But at least this way she's comfortable.
And she likes the clothes that she wears.
They're comfortable and they aren't revealing.
Heat radiates from Santana's face, and she bites down hard on her lip as she watches the girls pass them by without any more fuss. She pulls her eyes away from the retreating girls and looks over at Tina who didn't seem to even notice the group of cheerio's. Or she's just gotten really good at ignoring them.
"Did you study for our Chem test today?" Tina asks, turning towards Santana with a slight frown.
Santana nods her head and releases her backpack from its white-knuckle grip to use her hands. She signs, "yes, did you?"
Tina focuses on her hands, and it only takes her a second to understand what she's asking her.
She still isn't completely fluent in sign language, but she has learned quite a bit from Santana and when they became friends, she'd taken it upon herself to learn more. Which meant a lot to Santana. She had other ways that she could communicate with people that didn't understand sign language and she wouldn't have been upset if Tina hadn't wanted to go through the trouble of learning.
But it meant a lot to her when she saw that Tina was learning and had gotten pretty good at it.
"I completely forgot." Tina admits with a guilty smile. "I was doing all of my other homework last night and kept trying to remember if I had anything else, but I completely forgot about the Chem test." She explains with a sigh.
Santana pouts sympathetically at Tina. If it were Santana that had forgotten to study, she'd be freaking out right now. But that would never happen, because Santana is very organized and writes everything down in her planner. She's tried to get Tina to use one, but the girl never remembers to write stuff down in it.
Also, Santana studies every night, every subject, just to make sure she's caught up on everything. She finds studying fun. Instead of watching TV or hanging out with friends, she likes to read her textbooks and take notes. She knows it's not normal for a teenager to find studying fun. It's just another thing that makes her a loser.
But her intelligence is really the only thing that she has going for her right now.
Plus, she just likes being knowledgeable about a lot of different things.
She spends some of her other free time, just researching random things that she finds or reading about new things in different books she finds at the library. A lot of it, like facts about different animals or certain history things will probably never come in handy for her, but she still finds some of it fascinating.
Her brother makes fun of her sometimes.
But at least it's a better hobby than drugs or something.
Plus, one of her biggest insecurities is being called stupid.
Just another thing to add to the list of things she has to work through at therapy.
Santana pulls her backpack off and unzips it. She pulls a binder out and places the bag down on the ground so she can open the binder without dropping it. She flips through a few pages and then passes it over to Tina.
Tina looks down at the paper and realizes it's Santana's study notes. It's basically everything she needs to know, organized and highlighted in different colors. She looks up at Santana and smiles gratefully at her. "Thank you so much," she says, reaching out to hug her friend.
The chemistry test isn't until after lunch, so Tina will have half a day to study, including lunch. It won't be enough time to study properly, but it'll help her out.
Tina puts the binder in her backpack and then looks back over at Santana. "Are you ready to go to class?" She asks, shutting her locker. She throws her bag over her shoulder and turns to face Santana.
The brunette nods her head, her eyes glancing around the crowded hallway, anxiously. She's doing the math in her head on how long it should take to reach their first period class. She's already figured it out and if they walk at a fast pace and don't get hit by too many people it normally takes about 36 seconds to get to the safety of the classroom. However, even though she's done the math, she still likes to do it every morning. It just reassures her.
She can see the classroom door in the distance, and she turns back to Tina, nodding for her to go ahead. Once Tina starts walking, Santana follows close behind, her eyes darting around at the crowd as they make their way through, trying to make sure she's not going to get shoved around by anymore jocks.
They almost reach the door, but someone catches Santana's attention on the other side of the hallway, making her look in that direction. She sees other kids parting the hallway like it's the red sea and that can only mean one thing.
Brittany S. Pierce.
She's walking down the hallway towards them, her minions, Quinn, Puck, Sugar and Sam directly behind her. They're all her best friends, except Sugar. Sugar just kind of follows her around like a puppy dog, wanting to be just like her. At least that is what Tina has told her.
Tina had decided to join the glee club this year, which had really surprised Santana, considering how shy the girl is. She knows that Tina loves to sing and dance, but she'd never thought she would be able to do it in public.
However, she says that the kids in the club are kind of losers like they are, and they are all really nice to her. She also just mainly sways in the background but still enjoys herself. She doesn't have the confidence to ask for a solo or anything yet.
But being in the glee club and being friends with Kurt and Mercedes means that Tina hears a lot of the gossip going around school. Apparently the two are always talking about people and they somehow seem to know everything about everyone.
Which also means that Santana gets to hear it.
She doesn't really care about school gossip because she doesn't know half of these people. But she knows that it's a thing that teenagers are supposed to do together. And Tina always gets so excited to tell her the latest thing that she'd heard.
So, she listens.
Brittany is the badass of the school. She is always getting into fights with people or doing something to end up in detention. She's probably broken just about every rule there is to break and then some.
She's also slept with half the school.
Santana had blushed and gotten a little uncomfortable, hearing that.
Santana watches her walk passed her, her face sporting her typical 'no fucks' look. She's wearing dark tight jeans, a white tank and her black leather jacket. Her friends are wearing similar things, it's what they wear almost every day. She won't lie and say that it doesn't work for her.
And yeah, Santana may be socially awkward, but she can still tell when someone is hot.
And Brittany is definitely hot.
She'd never have the courage to approach Brittany, but she can't help but stare at her when she sees her walk by.
She's pretty sure that Brittany has never even noticed her.
That's probably a good thing though. Santana has no idea what she'd do if Brittany ever actually talked to her. She'd probably combust or at least pass out.
"Santana?" Tina calls, snapping the Latina out of her trance.
She pulls her eyes away from Brittany's retreating form and looks over at her best friend who is looking at her confused.
"You okay?" she asks Santana, looking concerned. Tina places a gentle hand on her forearm, and Santana shakes her head, trying to clear her brain enough to answer the question.
She gives Tina a reassuring smile and nods her head. Tina eyes her curiously for a moment but nods and walks into the classroom, followed by Santana.

Brittany walks out the doors of McKinley High and makes her way over to the football field, her friends following closely behind. They walk underneath the bleachers and all find spots in the grass to sit down.
"Won't we get into trouble for skipping class?" Sugar asks worriedly, watching as the others sit down.
Brittany and her friends have been doing this for years, but they've never actually invited Sugar to hang out with them out here. She's been following them around and trying to be friends with them since she started school here at the beginning of the year, but they'd pretty much just tried to ignore her.
Somehow, she kind of started to grow on Brittany.
She can be annoying as hell but she's proven that she will do just about anything they ask her to do to be allowed to hang out with them.
And that can be useful.
So now that Brittany is convinced Sugar isn't going to tattle on them or try and get them into trouble or something, she decided to let her come and join them.
Sugar had just about wet herself when Brittany had told her to come hang with them. It was amusing to her, but her friends looked a little annoyed. Especially Quinn. But Quinn is the most closed off and least trusting of the group. She doesn't take well to new people or change.
But Brittany doesn't care. She does what she wants and Quinn just has to get over it.
Sugar hovers next to Brittany, biting on her lip nervously not really sure what to do. She glances around to make sure nobody else is out there and that nobody sees them and is relieved to see nobody. When you're underneath the bleachers you can't see the school and there is a fence right in front of them where the bleachers end, hiding them away from basically everyone. You'd have to actually walk under the bleachers to see them.
Everyone rolls their eyes at her but chooses to ignore her. Except Brittany, "Who cares?" She asks simply, pulling a bag of weed out of her backpack, making Sugar's eyes widen. She pulls out an already rolled up joint and places it between her lips as she pulls a lighter out.
Brittany takes a hit from the joint then holds it up to Sugar, offering her a hit. She raises her brows waiting to see if Sugar is going to take the joint and join them or if she's going to chicken out and go back to class.
Sugar of course takes the joint from Brittany with a sigh and sits down next to her, making the blonde smirk. She still seemed nervous to be out there during school, but she was willing to do just about anything to prove herself to Brittany and her friends. She takes a slow drag then pulls away coughing uncontrollably as she feels her throat burning.
She's obviously never smoked weed before.
The others can't help but laugh at her and Puck reaches over grabbing it from her to use it himself.
Sugar clears her throat and tries to take in a deep breath as she feels the burning in her throat subsiding. She then turns back to the group, trying to shake off her embarrassment. "So, what are we doing tonight?" she asks, bouncing a little in place, smiling widely.
Quinn gives Brittany an annoyed expression, still blaming Brittany when Sugar gets on her nerves. Sure, she likes having her around sometimes, because she can get her to do her homework or go get her a coffee anytime she asks. But she also annoys her most of the time and when Sugar does do something annoying, she blames Brittany.
Makes sense to her.
However, it doesn't affect Brittany and she just takes another hit off the joint and lies back on her elbows. She simply shrugs her shoulders to answer Sugar's question and lies down fully on her back after passing the joint over to Sam.
"Me and Brittany have plans," Puck informs them with a smug grin. He looks over at Brittany and winks at her. "But it shouldn't take long so you guys can come over afterwards." He adds with a smirk.
Brittany rolls her eyes but doesn't comment on the fact that it shouldn't take long. Probably not something he should be proud of.
But whatever.
She did agree to go over to Puck's tonight, which of course meant to hook up. She doesn't hide the fact that they hook up, all of their friends know about it. It's nothing serious, they're definitely not in a relationship, but he's a good lay and a girl has needs. It's easy because he doesn't want a relationship so it doesn't get complicated.
Sam has a pretty big crush on her, but she's not interested in him. Which is why she's never hooked up with him and she does everything she can to not enable him. He's cute and a good friend, but she doesn't want to be in a relationship with him. She knows if she hooked up with him, he'd get even more attached than he already is to her, and it would just make everything awkward.
Brittany doesn't do awkward.
A lot of guys like Brittany, but she's never really been into any of them. She has hooked up with a lot of them, but honestly she hasn't been able to stand anyone longer than that. Half the time, she gets annoyed with them during and just has to not look at them. She tries to assure herself that it's just because all these Lima losers are a total turn off.
But she also fears the problem is her and maybe she is going to be alone forever.
But she can't help the fact that almost everyone annoys the hell out of her.
"I just got the new Call of Duty," Sam informs them excitedly.
Puck puts his fist out and Sam bumps it with him.
"As long as there is liquor, I'm in." Brittany says airily and just like that their plans for the night are made.

Santana walks into her house after school and spots her older brother, Manny sitting on the couch, stuffing his face with Cheetos and watching TV. She places her backpack down on the floor and sits down next to him. "Hey," he mumbles, his mouth full of chips, some crumbs flying out as he speaks.
Santana grimaces and he just smirks. "Hi," She replies back, quietly, slouching against the couch, and directing her attention over to the TV he is watching. It's on some sports news show and she isn't really sure what they're talking about. Possibly Football, or maybe basketball?
Either way, she doesn't care.
"How was school?" He asks, brushing the crumbs off of his shirt.
Frowning, Santana shrugs her shoulders and starts picking at the hem of her sweater. "School," She answers vaguely because she doesn't really have much else to say about it. It wasn't any different than any other awful day at school. Though, she did go the whole day without getting thrown into a locker or slushied so she takes that as a win. "I g-g-got a 100 on my chem test." She adds quietly with a small shrug.
Manny smiles proudly at her and nods his head. "Good job," He commends, punching her arm affectionately, making her fall over onto the couch with a giggle. "I wish I got your brain." He says with a smirk.
The only time she'd ever gotten anything under an A was when they first figured out she couldn't take tests in the classroom. They realized she has a problem concentrating with everyone else in the room because of her anxiety, so she now goes to the testing room where she can sit all by herself to be tested.
Manny on the other hand hasn't been that great at school. He gets good enough grades to pass, but he's never been a straight A student. He is, however, a sports star. He'd played football, and rugby and was the star of both. He went to college with a football scholarship but got hurt halfway through the season. He'll get to return and play again next year when he fully recovers.
It's selfish, but Santana is glad that he got to come home for a semester. She isn't happy that he was hurt and had multiple surgeries, but she'd really missed him when he was gone. Manny had always been there for her and basically helped raise her after their dad left and it was just their mom. It was definitely very unsettling not having him around anymore.
Although she knows that it's something she needs to get used to.
But for right now, she's not going to think about it and just enjoy having him back.
"Did you have any problems at school?" He asks, pulling her from her thoughts. Santana shakes her head, and looks down, fiddling with her hands in her lap. "You sure?" He asks, ducking his head to find her eyes.
Santana looks up at him and nods her head, reassuring him.
Manny nods, accepting the answer "Mami is working late so we are on our own for dinner," he informs her, and Santana just nods, being used to it. "Just let me know when you're hungry and we can see what we find in the kitchen," he tells her.
Santana once again just nods. "I'm going to g-g-go work on some homework," she informs him, before getting up off the couch.
SXB
Santana makes her way back down the stairs a few hours later. She hadn't really been thinking about dinner and hadn't wanted to stop writing her essay but then her stomach had growled pretty loudly, and she realized she should probably eat something.
It wasn't until then and she stood up, breaking her concentration that she realized how hungry she actually is.
She probably should have come down sooner, but she'd been too caught up to worry about it.
She sees Manny still sitting on the couch, but he's on his laptop. She walks behind him and nudges the back of his head playfully, when she realizes that he hadn't even noticed her enter the room. "What are you d-doing?" she asks curiously when she sees something that looks like math problems on his screen.
Manny sighs and looks up at her. "Studying," he informs her, which makes her brows furrow. "Yeah," he grunts. "I've been trying to keep up with some classes online so that I won't have to stay an extra semester later," he tells her. "But learning this stuff basically on my own is not fun," he adds with a chuckle. "Not all of us are as good at studying as you," he adds
Santana scrunches her face up at him playfully. "I'm hungry," she informs him simply.
Manny glances up at the clock on the wall and nods his head. "Yeah, me too. I've eaten like two bags of chips and some fruit, waiting on you," he says, trying to sound annoyed but she knows he's just joking with her.
Santana rolls her eyes at him. "You d-d-didn't have t-to wait," she informs him. "Or you c-could have come and got me," she adds.
He just shrugs. "I've actually been pretty occupied with this," he tells her. "Trig. it's a good time," he jokes. He gets up off the couch and sets his laptop down before heading into the kitchen. "What do you feel like?" he asks, before opening the fridge and rummaging around. "There is some leftover... something." He says, his face scrunching up as he pulls the Tupperware out of the fridge. He takes the lid off of it and takes a whiff, before grimacing. "Okay, you probably shouldn't eat that." He says, making Santana giggle.
Santana walks up behind her brother. She gets up on her tippy toes and peaks around him, trying to see inside the fridge. "D-do we have any frozen pizza? I want p-pizza." Santana questions.
Manny pulls the freezer drawer open and pulls out two frozen pizzas, showing them to Santana who grins happily.
"I won't eat a whole one," she points out as she watches him open both the boxes.
Manny shrugs, "You can eat it tomorrow. Or I will," he assures her. "You know that I will eat a whole one," he adds with a chuckle.
Santana just shakes her head and laughs as she watches him put them into the oven.
"Have you done your speech therapy exercises yet?" he asks, turning back to Santana who has settled on one of the bar stools at the kitchen island.
Santana frowns and shakes her head.
"Mami said to make sure you do them," he says with a raised eyebrow. "I know they're annoying, but you've got to do it," he adds.
Santana just sighs and nods her head. Honestly, she should be used to doing it by now, but she still hates it.
It makes her feel like an idiot.
And then she gets frustrated which just makes her stutter even worse.
She really doesn't see how any of this is supposed to be helping. Though, she does suppose it has, it's just hard to see when she still has the stutter. But she used to struggle to get almost anything out and it would sometimes take her minutes to just get through a sentence. Now it's mostly just a quick pause in her speech. Unless she's upset or angry, then she struggles to get words out.
When she's anxious she supposes it's worse as well but when she's really anxious she can't even talk in the first place, so she's not really sure.
Stupid freaking brain.
SXB
Lunch time at school always makes Santana's anxiety go up even more than it already does just being at school in the first place. She had been eating in the bathroom for years just to avoid the chaos in the lunchroom.
Maybe not the most sanitary choice, but it was better than having a panic attack in front of everyone.
Last year, one of her teachers noticed and let her start eating in her classroom during the period. She's pretty sure that wasn't really allowed but Holly Holiday always had a soft spot for her. She actually used to babysit her when she was a kid and she was one of the few people outside of her family that she felt pretty comfortable with.
It's always just so loud and crazy in the cafeteria and it just freaks her out. Not to mention, she had no friends to sit with and there was never an empty table where she could just sit alone. Not until Tina anyway.
Tina had tried to convince her to eat with her and her friends in the glee club but Santana had declined for a while. One day, she actually did try to sit with Tina and her friends after Holly had convinced her it would be a good idea to try.
But it hadn't turned out well. Some stupid jock "accidentally" spilled his soda all over her and it had just sent her into a panic attack.
Tina comes into Holly's classroom and has lunch with her a lot. Sometimes she goes to the cafeteria with her glee friends. Santana doesn't really mind if she just eats with them every day, but Tina insists that she enjoys having lunch with her and Holly so she splits her time.
And sometimes the cafeteria is overwhelming for her as well.
Santana makes her way to Holly's room, Tina at her side.
She smiles when she walks in and sees Holly stand up, giving them a grin, "Hola chicas," she greets, signing it with her hands as well as speaking.
Obviously, Santana can hear, but she appreciates the fact that Holly knew sign language and chose to use it when she's around Santana, since it's how Santana normally communicates with her. She'd also started learning it when she started babysitting Santana. It has come in handy for her being a teacher, because she's taught hearing-impaired students as well.
She actually thanked Santana for helping her to learn she was younger.
Santana hadn't taught her nearly as much as she had learned on her own, but she still appreciated her for trying to give her some credit.
"Hey Miss Holiday," Tina greets with a grin. Santana just gives her a smile and waves, walking down the rows to sit at one of the desks up front near Holly's desk.
Holly sits back down at her own desk and pulls a bag of chips out of her desk drawer, munching on them as she watches the two girls pull out their own lunches. "So what's going on ladies? Tell me all the hot goss," she says with a grin, and continues to sign everything that she's saying.
Santana gives a soundless chuckle and rolls her eyes, amused with the woman. She doesn't really have anything interesting to tell Holly. It's not like she really talks to anyone or goes and does anything.
But when Tina has lunch with them, she always launches into some crazy story that she's heard from Kurt or Mercedes.
Santana kind of wishes sometimes that she'd have a story to tell or something. She just feels like Holly is really cool and interesting and she knows that she's boring. Though, Holly has never made her feel that way.
After Tina wraps up some story about Mercedes and Rachel having a Diva Off?
She doesn't even know what that is.
Holly turns to her with a grin. "Come on, sweet cheeks, what's going on with you?" she prompts, wanting to give Santana some attention. "How's that hot brother of yours?" she asks, wiggling her eyebrows.
Santana grimaces in disgust, making Holly laugh loudly.
"Okay, sorry," she says and then puts her hands up in defense. "Got any interesting facts to share with the class?" she asks with a grin, knowing that Santana always had a range of interesting facts bouncing around in her head.
Santana blushes slightly, because most people would make fun of her for knowing such random things but Holly always seems interested. Or at least she acts interested very well.
Santana puts her sandwich down so that she can use her hands but then pauses looking up to think about what she wants to tell her. Once she decides, she looks back over at Holly. The blue whale has the largest heart on any animal and it weighs about 400 pounds. She informs them. Also, you can hear their heartbeat in the water 2 miles away.
She bites her lip and looks around a bit awkwardly, noticing how excited her signing had been during that fun fact and she knows that she's super lame.
"Wait really?" Holly questions, leaning forward on her desk. She looks thoughtful like it actually interested her and she's thinking about it. "That's actually insane," she says, impressed by the information. "The ocean totally creeps me out," she replies, shivering just thinking about what lurks at the bottom of the oceans. "But you have definitely always had a thing for marine biology," she says with a small laugh. She then looks over to Tina. "She used to make me watch documentaries about it when I would babysit her," she informs the girl.
Tina giggles and shakes her head, amused and Santana just blushes.
They spend the next 45 minutes chatting.
Or mostly, Holly and Tina do.
Holly tries to turn it on Santana sometimes to keep her involved but Holly also knows that Santana is happy to just sit back and listen. Even if both Holly and Tina can understand her signing, it doesn't mean she still doesn't get anxiety being the one communicating and having the attention on her.
When they gather their things up to leave, Holly waits for Tina to go ahead and turns to Santana. "Everything okay?" she checks in. "Nobody is giving you problems are they?"
Santana shakes her head, giving Holly an appreciative smile.
"Good, I'll see you tomorrow hot stuff," she says, making Santana blush. She calls her names like that all the time and it never ceases to make Santana get all shy.
She's starting to think that maybe she has a type.
And ironically it's women that she'd never actually have the nerve to talk to under normal circumstances.
Or women that would ever have any interest in someone like her.
The world is kind of cruel.

Santana walks down the hallway, headed for her last class of the day. She can breathe a little easier now, because the room is only a few feet away from her and it's the last class. She will soon enough be able to go to the safety of her home, away from the school and all of these people.
She almost gets to the door when she notices more people in the hallway than normal. They all seem to be in a circle crowded around something and they're all shouting and cheering.
Santana grips tighter to her backpack straps and takes in a deep breath, debating on what to do. She wants to just get into the classroom and get away from all of this commotion but she's going to have to try and squeeze her way through at least some of the people to get to the door. Mostly it's just the back of the big crowd that's blocking the door, she wouldn't have to go through them all.
But it still makes her nervous.
Maybe she should just wait until it's over.
But she doesn't want to be late and she really isn't sure what is going on.
She's sure it's a fight or something but who knows.
They could be all hyped up for something ridiculous also.
Wouldn't be the first time.
She takes in another deep breath and decides to just go for it and try to squeeze to the classroom. She nods her head firmly, hyping herself up to do this and then takes her first step forward. She basically presses herself all the way up against the wall and as politely as she can, squeezes through the first couple of people.
She's just about a couple of steps away from the door when she feels someone bump into her back, sending her flying forward. She gasps and stumbles but then just keeps feeling herself getting shoved around through the crowd.
The next thing she knows, she's on the ground and her glasses are flying off of her face.
She lets out a noiseless whimper and gets on her knees, feeling around on the floor trying to find her glasses before they get crushed in this chaos. She blinks her eyes a few times, trying to make everything clearer but it doesn't help. Everything is just a bunch of blurs around her.
She finally finds her glasses and as soon as she puts them on, she sees two figures right in front of her fighting. It's Brittany Pierce and the head Cheerio, Kitty. Her eyes widen and she scurries back to her feet, wanting to get far away from the scene, however as soon as she gets up, she's back down on the floor with Kitty on top of her.
"What's going on here?" Coach Beiste yells, pushing her way through the crowd.
Santana is still lying on the floor, breathing heavily, but Kitty has gotten off of her. Her heart is racing in her chest, and her breathing is becoming shallow. She feels the beginning of a panic attack, and her body freezes up. She can hear Coach yelling, but she can't hear what she is saying. It just kind of sounds like the teacher on Charlie Brown.
Then suddenly, she feels herself being lifted up off of the floor. She starts kicking frantically, silent screams trying to escape her throat as she tries to get away from whoever is holding her.
But they just hold on tighter.
"Calm down," The stern voice of Coach Beiste says, making her halt her movements.
She looks up and realizes it's Beiste that is carrying her, which calms her slightly. She still doesn't like being carried by this woman, but it's better than some random student or bully that was planning on throwing her in a dumpster or something.
"Are you hurt?" The woman asks, placing her back down on the ground. "Do I need to take you to the nurse?" She asks, looking at Santana with stern eyes. She doesn't look sympathetic at all. She just looks intimidating.
Santana shakes her head and swallows hard, still trying to get her breathing under control. She can't really think right now and her head is spinning. She feels like she's going to throw up.
She looks around the hallway for her backpack and sees it pushed to the side up against the wall. Quickly she walks over and picks it up, throwing it over her shoulders, gripping the straps so hard that her knuckles turn white and actually start to hurt a little.
"Follow me to the principal." Coach says, curling her finger in a motion that says to follow her.
Santana's eyes widen and she shakes her head furiously. She hadn't done anything. Did Coach Beiste think she was a part of that fight? She was just trying to get to class and got pushed into it, literally. She was an innocent bystander.
"Now." Coach Beiste says a little too loudly, making Santana jump. She gives Santana a firm look, before turning on her heel and walking towards the principal's office. Santana knows she is supposed to follow her and she knows she will be in even more trouble if she doesn't. So she follows.
They get into the office and Santana sees Brittany and Kitty, walking out just as they're walking in. Kitty's right eye is already turning a dark shade of purple and her lip is swollen and busted. Brittany on the other hand doesn't seem to have a scratch on her.
When Santana walks past them, she meets Brittany's eyes. The blonde just scowls at her and it makes Santana look away quickly and walk a little faster into the office.

Santana walks into the classroom where detention is held and sees that there are no other students in the room. She lets out a breath of relief and hopes that maybe she will be the only one there.
Ever since Principal Figgins had told her she had to go to detention; she'd been imagining all kinds of things in her head that it would be like. She's never been before, so all she had to go on was TV shows and movies. She pictured a bunch of potheads and kids like the ones that Brittany hangs out with filling all of the seats, eyeing her like their next victim as she walked inside.
She imagined the teacher falling asleep at his desk and letting the bad students do whatever they pleased. She'd assumed she'd be cornered, tortured and killed and he wouldn't even notice.
However, so far it looked like she was going to be the only one in detention. She glances up at the clock and sees that it's only a minute away for detention to actually start, so surely, they'd all be here by now right?
The teacher is an older woman who doesn't even glance at her when she walks in. She is doing some kind of paperwork on her desk, and Santana doesn't even know if she has noticed that she's there.
She picks a seat in the front of the classroom by the door and sits down. Placing her backpack down on the floor, she pulls out her binder from math class to start on her homework. Maybe detention won't be so bad. It's just a quiet classroom and it gives her time to do her homework.
Everything was going fine and Santana had gotten a start on her homework, when she heard the classroom door open. 11 minutes late, Brittany walks into the room along with Puck.
It then hits Santana that it should be obvious Brittany and Kitty would be in detention with her. They did get into trouble for the same thing. But so far there was no kitty. Maybe she'll be even later than Brittany and Puck.
She isn't sure why Puck is in detention, but it's not surprising. Brittany's whole group is always in detention for one thing or another.
The two of them make their way down the row and sit in two seats in the very back against the wall. Brittany puts her feet up in the chair next to her and slouches down in the seat, already looking bored.
Puck sits in the seat in front of her and turns sideways, letting his head fall back against the wall and closes his eyes.
Santana watches Brittany pull out her cell phone and start doing something on it. She can't tell if she's texting or playing a game. Not that it really matters, cell phones are prohibited in detention. It's written up front on the chalkboard.
Santana glances over at the teacher but the woman still hasn't looked up from her papers. She obviously doesn't care that the blonde is breaking the rules. The woman looks just as bored as Brittany and Puck do. She can tell she just wants to get out of here as well.
She looks back over her shoulder at Brittany who is now obviously playing some game, because she is tilting the phone back and forth. Santana continues watching her for a minute because she really can't help herself.
She's seen Brittany multiple times but it's always in passing. She's never really gotten to just stare at her like this.
And god, she's even more beautiful than Santana had imagined.
She's shaken from her thoughts when Brittany lets out a big sigh and drops her phone and her hands into her lap, obviously losing the game.
And then their eyes meet.
Santana's eyes widen as blue eyes pierce into her own dark brown ones. She jumps a little snapping out of her trance and quickly turns around in her seat, going back to her homework.
Why had she even been staring at Brittany? Now she is going to think she is some crazy stalker or something.
There is about 10 minutes of detention left when Santana hears movement behind her. She'd made it almost the entire hour without Puck or Brittany speaking to her and she considered herself lucky. She knows they wouldn't want to just chat with her. But she's pretty sure they were going to ridicule her or mess with her or something.
Neither of them has really paid her any mind though.
Until now.
She hears footsteps approaching her and then someone sits down on the desk directly behind her. She tenses up and tries to keep her focus on her homework and ignore whoever it is behind her and not think about why they're behind her.
Just 9 more minutes.
"Who are you?" Brittany's voice asks her, making her jump slightly.
Santana tenses even more and drops her pencil onto her desk not really knowing what to do. She swallows hard and debates on her next move. Should she turn around? Should she just ignore her? What kind of question is that anyway?
Who is she? They've gone to school together for years.
Though, she's pretty sure a lot of kids here had no idea who she is.
That's how she likes it.
Invisible.
Ignore her, she should just ignore her.
She picks her pencil back up and continues working on her homework, hoping that Brittany will get the hint and go back to the back with Puck. However, she doesn't hear her move.
There is no way she can concentrate on her homework while Brittany is still behind her, so instead she just stares down at the paper, listening carefully to the blonde behind her, trying to see what she is going to do next. Or more so hear what she is going to do next.
Maybe she shouldn't have ignored her. Brittany obviously isn't known for being nice. What if she totally kicks her ass or something? Ignoring the school's badass isn't the best idea.
"Yo," Brittany says and Santana feels her kick the back of her chair, making her whole body tense up. "I'm talking to you," she says and nudges the chair once again.
Santana closes her eyes and breathes in deeply, trying to calm her anxiety down. Her palms are sweating and her heart is racing. She can sense Brittany staring at the back of her head, waiting on an answer, but she just can't speak up. She glances up at the clock, hoping that it's time to go but she still has 4 minutes. 4 minutes had never seemed like such a long time.
"Are you seriously going to sit here and ignore me?" Brittany asks, clearly getting annoyed, her voice raising a bit. "You know, the no talking in detention rule doesn't actually apply." She informs her, rolling her eyes. "Mrs. Anderson doesn't care. I don't even think she can hear in the first place." She says, and both girls glance over at the older woman who is still reading over the papers on her desk.
Santana can tell she is upsetting Brittany and it makes her even more nervous. The last thing she wants to do is make Brittany angry.
But she's kind of freaking out.
Finally, after a moment, Santana finds the courage and turns around to meet Brittany's piercing blue eyes. She's got her head tilted to the side, looking at Santana annoyed. Santana shakes her head quickly from side to side, looking at Brittany worriedly, trying to show her that she isn't trying to be rude and she's definitely not trying to piss her off.
The action just makes Brittany look at her confused. "So, what is your name?" She asks slowly, still obviously confused by Santana's reaction.
Santana stares back at Brittany nervously, not really sure how to handle the situation. She brings a hand up and points to her mouth and shakes her head. Then she attempts to sign. Do you know sign language? She knows it's a long shot, but she's not going to assume anything about this girl.
Brittany furrows her brows and then meets Santana's eyes. "Wait, can you not hear?" she asks, though that can't be right because she'd obviously heard her speaking to her before she'd turned around.
Santana just swallows and then points to her mouth again, shaking her head.
Brittany looks even more confused.
Honestly, she feels like Brittany is probably about to punch her, but she doesn't really know what else to do.
Santana sighs and turns back around grabbing her notebook. She faces Brittany once again and places the notebook on the desk that Brittany is sitting at.
She scribbles something down really quick and then looks back up at Brittany.
"Santana," Brittany says slowly, testing the way it feels rolling off her tongue. "That's a cool name," she says honestly, looking up to meet Santana's eyes once again and gives her a smile.
Santana feels herself blush and averts her eyes away from Brittany's stare.
But Brittany only has more questions for this strange girl. "Wait so-
"Yo Britt," Puck's voice calls out, interrupting Brittany from asking her questions. She turns to look at him and he's standing behind her, looking at her impatiently. "Let's go," he tells her, kicking the leg of her chair before heading for the door.
Santana glances at the clock and realizes that she can go now. She looks back to the teacher and realizes she's already left the room without a word. Santana turns back to Brittany to see her getting out of her seat and grabbing her bag.
Without another word, she follows Puck out of the room. But she does glance back and give Santana one last look before leaving.
Santana takes in a deep breath, trying to process everything that had just happened.
She'd talked to Brittany freaking Pierce!
Well...sort of.
Shaking her head, she starts packing away all of her things, trying not to let it linger in her mind much. It's not like she's probably ever going to talk to her again.
Especially now that she knows how weird she is.
With a sigh, Santana puts her backpack on and starts walking out of the room as well. She then realizes that Kitty had never shown up. But she is the head cheerleader so Coach Sylvester probably pulled some sort of strings to get her out of it. She had a habit of doing things like that for her cheerios.
She walks out the door and down to the bike rack where her bike is tied up. She doesn't live too far away from the school and she doesn't have a car which isn't that big of a deal. It's not like she really ever goes anywhere besides school. Or out with her brother or mom. Occasionally she goes somewhere with Tina, but Tina actually has a car.
Her best friend had offered to give her rides in the morning, but Santana hadn't wanted to burden her with that. And it's not like it is a long ride on her bike, plus it gives her some exercise and some time in the fresh air.
And riding a bike is a lot better than taking the bus. One time she witnessed a drug deal in the back of the bus when she was a freshman.
And now that she thinks about it, she's pretty sure that Brittany was involved.

Santana walks into the house later that night and sees her brother in his usual spot on the couch. He's playing a football video game and yelling at whoever he is playing against on his headset. He can get pretty aggressive with his yelling but apparently, it's how they all talk to each other.
She's heard some pretty explicit things come out of his mouth.
Santana actually likes to play video games with him, but she never gets on the headset to talk to other people.
For obvious reasons.
As she walks behind him, she leans down and places a kiss on his cheek, making him quiet down. He looks over his shoulder and smiles at her, "Hey kid," He greets affectionately, before turning back to the screen and yelling.
Santana hears her mom in the kitchen and swallows because she knows she is going to have to tell her about detention. She'd text her mom to tell her she'd be a little later than normal, but she hadn't told her why yet. Normally, it just meant that she was going to the library or maybe grabbing ice cream or something with Tina so her mom didn't really ask questions.
She knows that her mom will believe her when she tells her what happened so she's not going to be mad at her for being there.
But she's probably going to be upset that Santana hadn't stood up for herself and tried to tell anyone what really happened. Or at least asked someone for help.
She then figures her mom is going to call the school and give Figgins an earful which also gives her anxiety. She doesn't like having to have her mom call the school and stand up for her.
She should be able to do that herself.
And honestly, it's embarrassing.
Maybe she should just lie to her.
No, she can't do that.
She's not a liar and honestly, she's never been very good at it.
"Santana?" She hears her mom's voice call.
She shakes her head trying to rid all the spiraling thoughts going through her mind and looks up to see her mom walking towards her, concern all over her face. "Mija, what's wrong?" she asks, obviously noticing the look of panic on Santana's face.
Santana opens her mouth to tell her that she's fine, but nothing comes out. She swallows and looks down, her brows furrowing in anger and frustration.
Stupid freaking brain.
"Mija?" her mother questions again. She feels her mom's hands on her shoulders and then feels them running up and down her arms in a soothing way. "Where have you been? Why did you get home so late?" she questions, growing a bit concerned now that she's seeing the state that her daughter is in.
Santana swallows and tries to open her mouth again but then just snaps it shut, realizing the words aren't going to come out, no matter how hard she tries. She stomps her foot on the ground in frustration and then lifts her hands up, "I had detention," she signs with shaky hands.
Maribel wants to laugh, because there's no way that she would believe her daughter would get into the kind of trouble that would lead to that. But by the way Santana is acting, she's definitely not laughing.
It's not very often that Santana goes mute while she's in the comfort of her own home, unless there's people there that she doesn't really know well. But very rarely can she not speak to her mom and brother. Not since she was younger.
It just means she's really anxious about something.
"What do you mean detention?" Maribel signs back thinking surely Santana had signed the wrong thing.
Santana starts frantically signing, telling her mother everything that had happened. Thankfully, Maribel knew sign language well enough at this point to be able to interpret Santana's quick and jerky movements. She tends to sign that way when she's worked up, and she signs with really sharp firm movements when she's angry.
After Santana finishes Maribel lets out a long sigh. "Why didn't you call me?" she asks, feeling a bit frustrated. It isn't the first time that Santana had needed something at school and hadn't wanted to bother her. She thought they'd talked and worked that out. "Or why didn't you ask to get Holly so that she could interpret for you?" she then asks, not understanding why Santana was so hardheaded.
She's willing to sit in detention instead of asking for help.
Santana huffs and rolls her eyes. But then she shakes her head, her shoulders dropping. "I wasn't thinking. He was saying all of these things, and I was just frozen," she admits. "I was panicking and then he was dismissing me and I just left," she adds, feeling embarrassed.
Maribel sighs once again, her annoyance pretty much dissipating. "Okay," she nods, knowing that Santana hadn't just refused help to be hardheaded.
"I'll call the school tomorrow," she says and when she sees the look on Santana's face and how she raises her hands to sign again, Maribel puts her hands up stopping her. "It's not up for discussion," she lets her know with a firm look.
Santana exhales and lets her shoulders droop, knowing not to argue with her mom.
"Come here," Maribel tells her, pulling Santana into a tight hug. "Are you okay?" she asks softly, brushing a hand over Santana's hair.
Santana just nods head, before gripping onto her mother even tighter, just wanting to feel her warmth and comfort.
Maribel stands there, holding her daughter until she finally feels Santana relax a bit and start to pull away from her. She places her hands on either side of Santana's cheeks before she can pull away from her completely. "Te amo, Mija," she says softly.
"Te amo, mami," Santana responds back quietly, finally finding her voice.
Maribel feels tears welling up in her eyes and she pulls away from Santana, knowing she's not going to want her to cry over this. But she always feels her heart break when Santana gets so anxious that she can't even use her voice in their own home. So it always feels like a relief when she finally hears her voice again.
"Alright, I'm going to finish up dinner. Why don't you relax for a bit?" she suggests to Santana who nods at her and gives her a little smile before turning to head up the stairs. "And I mean actually relax for a bit, no homework!" she shouts after Santana who just scowls and continues up the stairs, her steps a little louder than necessary.
Maribel just laughs because in what world would a mother have to tell their child to actually not do homework.

Brittany finishes getting dressed just as her other friends show up to Puck's house. They walk inside without knocking like always, but thankfully her and Puck were already finished. Not that it'd even bother her if they walked in on them. It had happened before, and she just made them get out so she could get her orgasm.
Sam had been awkward the rest of that night though.
Puck sets up the game and he and Sam sit on the floor in front of the bed and start playing. The girls all sit on top of his bed, Quinn making sure to pull the covers up so she isn't sitting on the sheets, where Puck and Brittany just got it on.
"You brought liquor, right?" Brittany asks, settling against the headboard. She takes a cigarette from Puck's nightstand and lights it up, her eyes moving back over to Quinn.
The shorter blonde rolls her eyes and smiles, "Of course," she says as if it were obvious. She leans over and pulls her bag up onto the bed and pulls out a bottle of tequila as well as a few bottles of beer.
Brittany takes the bottle of tequila and opens it up, taking a long swig. She grimaces slightly, but hums at the warm tingly feeling it gives her. "Hey Puck?" Brittany calls, sliding down a bit to nudge the back of his head with her foot. She takes another swig as she waits for him to turn around.
When he does, he scowls at her, "You just made me almost die." He informs her, before going back to his game.
Brittany rolls her eyes and takes another drink before it gets snatched away by Quinn. "That girl that was in detention with us. Do you know her?" Brittany asks curiously. She looks over at Quinn and snatches the bottle back from her and takes a drink. She then holds it out for Sugar who just looks at it with wide eyes. "Come on, you've never drank either?" Brittany asks amused.
Sugar shakes her head quickly, "No, I have." She replies. "Just not straight tequila." She says, slowly wrapping her fingers around the bottle and taking it from Brittany. She takes a whiff of it and grimaces, pulling it quickly away from her face, making Brittany and Quinn chuckle.
Brittany puts her cigarette in the ashtray on Puck's nightstand and turns her attention to the back of his head, waiting to see if he is going to answer her question. And obviously he isn't. "Puck!" She says loudly, nudging his head harder this time.
"Ow!" he exclaims, rubbing the back of his head, but not taking his eyes off the TV. "I have no idea who she was." He answers annoyed. "Some nerd, why do you care?" He asks, only half caring for the answer because he is distracted by the game.
Leaning back against the headboard again, Brittany looks back over at Sugar who is still eyeing the bottle in her hand. "Just drink it." Brittany tells her, rolling her eyes.
Sugar looks over at her and then back at the bottle cautiously. She takes in a deep breath and brings it to her lips. She holds her nose with her free hand and takes a small sip, pulling it away with a grimace before she can even get a full drink.
Brittany rolls her eyes and snatches the bottle away from her, taking another drink. "I don't know, she was just…weird." Brittany says thoughtfully. She doesn't really know how else to explain her or the encounter that they'd had but honestly, she hasn't really stopped thinking about it. "She didn't say a word to me and then she started signing but I don't think she's deaf or anything," she says, her face scrunching up in confusion. "And then she wrote her name down on a piece of paper," she explains.
Puck smirks, "She's a loser Brittany," He informs her. "She was probably just afraid of getting into trouble if she talked." He says with a shrug. "Or maybe it's just a nerd thing." he adds, really not caring about this conversation and wanting it to be over.
"Wait, are you talking about Santana?" Sugar asks curiously.
Brittany quickly turns to look at the girl and nods her head, "Yeah that was her name. Do you know her?" She asks as Quinn takes the bottle from her. Brittany doesn't even notice this time because she's too interested in what Sugar has to say about Santana.
Sugar nods and shrugs her shoulders at the same time. "I know of her." She answers simply. "She has like selective mutism or something like that." Sugar says bit unsure that she had the name right. Her eyes move up to the ceiling and she thinks over her answer. "Yeah, she has like an anxiety disorder and selective mutism." She says, this time surer.
"What the hell is that?" Sam asks from his place on the floor.
Brittany glances at him but then moves her eyes back over to Sugar for the answer. She has no idea what it is either.
"Well in certain situations like when she gets high anxiety like at school or in front of people she doesn't know, she is mute. Like she can't actually speak for whatever reason," She explains, but the others still look confused. "I don't know exactly, I just know that she has the ability to speak, but sometimes she can't." She finishes with a shrug.
Brittany tilts her head to the side, pondering Sugar's words. She'd never heard of something like that before. She'd heard of mutism, but not selective mutism. "How do you know her?" Brittany asks. "And how do you know she has that?" She adds curiously and a bit skeptically.
"I know everyone and everything." Sugar replies back, making Brittany roll her eyes. It is true though. Sugar is all about gossip. She knows everything about everyone. She is better than Facebook. "It's weird she was even in detention. Everyone says she's a goody two shoes. What did she do?" Sugar asks confused.
Brittany shrugs, "I don't know, we didn't really have time to chat. I didn't try to talk to her until the end and then I was caught off guard by her not speaking."
Quinn passes the bottle back over to Brittany and eyes her curiously. "Why do you even care?" She asks, confused. "She sounds like a freak."
Brittany weirdly feels anger bubble up inside of her when Quinn says that, but she doesn't really know why. She's never been bothered when her friends or other people call the nerds names. But something didn't feel right about this.
Brittany takes in a breath and shakes the thoughts about Santana from her head and looks back to Quinn. "I don't care," she says with a shrug. "She just seemed weirder than most of the nerds and I was curious." She explains, which makes Quinn just look even more confused. "She also didn't seem like the type that would be in detention, so I just wanted to know what she did. Maybe she's like a secret nerd badass or something," she says with a smirk.
Quinn gives her an unimpressed look and Sugar scoffs.
"Doubtful," Sugar says simply.
Brittany just ignores her and turns her attention to the game the boys are playing, not really wanting to talk about Santana anymore.
Honestly, she doesn't know why she is so curious about Santana. But as soon as she'd locked eyes with her, she just felt drawn to her. She almost felt like she hadn't even been in control of her body when she'd gotten up to go sit behind her. It was just like some weird force had made her do it.
Maybe she should lay off the weed for a bit.
But probably not.
