"Saitama-kun, Genos-kun, I'd like you to meet my brother." Bang calls out to Saitama gesturing for him to come over.
The two walk over shaking Bomb's hands
"Greetings. I am Bomb. The elder brother of Bang and the user of the Whirlwind Iron Cutting Fist. It is nice to finally meet you."
"Heyo. Nice to meet you too." Saitama greeted.
"It is an honor to meet you Bomb-sama." Genos politely greets in a respectful tone.
"Ho? Have you heard of my brother? That is quite surprising." Bang questions while Bomb nods his head in agreement.
"No, however, if Bang-sama is anything to go off of, then I assume Bomb-sama is extremely skilled as well."
"I never knew there were so many martial arts. Are they interesting at all?" Saitama gives a curious look.
"If you are interested you are always welc-" Bang gets cut off.
"I'm not joining your dojo old man!" Saitama states exasperated, shaking his head.
"Haha. I guessed that wouldn't work. Just know my doors are always open." Bang chuckles.
Saitama nods with a slightly tired face
"I must admit, I am curious, Bomb-sama. How does your martial art work?" Genos asks.
"Oh that is simple. I utilize the air with hand motions to create razor sharp wind pressure. It is an effective technique although I must admit that Bang's technique is more well rounded." Bomb explains in a thoughtful tone.
"That doesn't sound simple at all." Saitama deadpans with his inner thoughts.
"Impressive. How did you go about creating such a technique?" Genos questions in an interested tone.
"Well I-" Bomb gets cut off.
"Please return to your seats. The next viewing will begin."
"Aw. That sucks. I was interested." Saitama says, slightly disappointed.
"Worry not Saitama-kun. I'm sure we will have time to speak on the matter. It seems we will be staying here for a while." Bomb reassures the Bald hero.
"Let us return to our seats." Bang starts walking off waving to Saitama and Genos.
"This is now the 5th episode. The title is the Ultimate Master."
"Hoho. I assume that the master is Saitama-kun?" Bang questions.
"Correct."
"This'll be hilarious." Tatsumaki laughs out.
"Ultimate Master. That's gotta be some kinda joke." Atomic Samurai grunts out quietly.
"Kinda hard to believe this guy can be considered an Ultimate master." Metal Bat states in curiosity as he points over to Saitama who looks peeved.
"They don't know how great my master is." Genos heats up as he wears a scowl, making the people around him (except Saitama) wary of the cyborg.
CITY A - HERO ASSOCIATION HQ
A large table with many executives are seen discussing hero matters
"Then it is decided that Mumen Rider CITY A - HERO ASSOCIATION HQ will remain the top-ranked class C hero."
"Understood. I will let him know."
"I simply cannot understand why he has no desire to move up to class B…"
"Not that I have a say in your choices, but why don't you move up?" Saitama questions Mumen Rider.
"Oh, it's because I'm too weak. So I decided to stay in C-Class and help where I can." Mumen Rider states cheerfully, reminiscent of the hero's attitude at the oden bar.
"That's cool … though, I don't think you're weak. I think you're pretty strong." Saitama says non-chalantly while giving a thumbs up.
Everyone wears a surprised expression not truly understanding what strength Saitama was referring too
"Our next agenda item is the 55th Hero Certification Exam. For this exam, the total number of candidates is…"
"11,648, with the exam offered at six different venues. That is an increase of more than 22% over the previous exam."
Many surprised sounds emerge from the executives
"We mustn't be happy with simple quantity. Even with more candidates, if the quality of the heroes is reduced, the numbers are meaningless. Therefore, we ought to be even more critical during evaluations."
"At least some of you aren't nimrods." Tatsumaki huffs out.
"More heroes would still be helpful, even if they aren't up to your caliber in strength. They can be tasked to handle the more petty crimes. Which means less work for the more worthwhile heroes." An executive bravely states.
"Fodder is still fodder. Che." Tatsumaki scowls at the single associate.
"Also, I hear that a certain person of interest is taking the exam this time."
"Yes, it hasn't been confirmed yet, but it seems very likely that he will."
The executive can be seen viewing Genos' information
"I assume you were tracking me long before I met Sensei?" Genos turns in his seat to address the associates.
"That is correct. You left quite the spectacle behind whenever you encountered any monsters. You were a prime hero in waiting. Make no mistake, we held no ill will against you." The same executive from the screen answers Genos in a calm albeit nervous tone.
"Very well." Genos returns to his seat while Saitama just sighs in relief.
HERO TEST LOCATION #6
"Candidates, please form two lines for registration."
A bunch of oddly dressed potential heroes are lined up for the tests
The camera pans to a blank faced Saitama wearing nothing but a speedo
"Damn I forgot how well built you are dude." Metal Bat says, slightly surprised.
"You can barely tell under that flabby costume." Zombie Man chuckles.
"You do know the association can make things you request from them right?" Child Emperor questions Saitama.
"Wait really?" Saitama wears a slightly shocked face.
"Yeah, they gave me my bat. I used to always break the bats I used when fighting so I just asked for a really strong one that could handle my swings!" Metal Bat explains in a slightly proud tone.
"Metal Knight has also constructed many of the association's facilities and evacuation shelters. He is an incredible individual for the association." The bearded worker from earlier comments.
"Woah, that's pretty cool. But I do like my costume the way it is. It holds a special meaning for me so I don't think I can replace it." Saitama mutters out.
"We can replicate your costume while strengthening the material if you would like." Metal Knight surprisingly suggests.
"Oh if you can do that that would be great." Saitama smiles.
Metal Knight nods while writing down new suit ideas for an extremely overpowered individual
A few individuals off to the side laugh at Saitama's figure
"They must be eliminated." Genos abruptly stands up with his heat cannons flared.
"Oi Genos, you can't kill people just cause they diss you. What kinda hero would you be?" Saitama reprimands Genos in a monotone voice.
"H-hai, Sensei." Genos sits down while cooling down, looking a little like a kicked puppy.
Meanwhile, a few members of the cast are slightly angry with the assholes laughing at their new colleague
"Next! Side-to-side jumps for seconds!"
"Ready…"
Suddenly Saitama goes serious, tightening his muscles slightly
"There it is again! Why do you suddenly get a different face every time you try slightly?" Tatsumaki questions incredulously.
"Its like he gets a higher budget for his face." Child Emperor snickers.
"Oi, stop making fun of my face!" Saitama yells out, non-seriously.
Everyone in the theater let out boisterous laughs at Saitama's expense
"Go!"
Saitama then starts doing side-to-side jumps at an incredible speed, cracking the floor beneath him, while at the same time shocking those who made fun of him earlier
"Next, the 1500-meter run. Go!"
Saitama holds an odd running stance and effortlessly blasts pasts the contestants, finishing the run in a matter of seconds
"Next, weightlifting!"
Saitama holds a bar with many large weights above his head with one arm
"Next, shot put!"
Saitama sends the shot through the roof
"Vertical jumping!"
Saitama gets his head stuck in the roof
The audience members start snickering at that with Saitama just sighing and shaking his head in slight embarrassment
"Whack-a-Mole!"
Saitama completely breaks the machine
"Punching machine!"
Saitama completely breaks the machine, sending it through multiple walls
"I'm going home…"
"Haha! Sent them packing!" Metal Bat laughs out, smacking his arm chair.
"That was incredible. They didn't do your description justice. It really is as if a god resides in your body." Another association member from the executive table says in shock.
"I'm guessing you held back a lot on the punch, Baldy?" Tatsumaki questions in a curious tone.
"Uh yeah. I had to hold back a lot for the tests. I didn't want to destroy the facility. W-wait. Do I have to pay for all the stuff I broke?" Saitama goes rigid at the realization.
"No no. We would never make you pay for such trivial things like that. Especially after all that we've found out about you Saitama." Stitch eases Saitama's worries.
"Ope. Thank the lord." Saitama sighs in relief.
"Master. I would have paid for your expenses even if they forced you too." Genos states in a reassuring tone.
"Genos I can't let you pay for stuff I broke. That would make me worse than telemarketers. At least he didn't immediately go to destroying them. Improvement I guess." Saitama sighs to himself in acceptance.
THE ULTIMATE MASTER
"Finally done with all the tests. Now I just wait for the results."
"Oh, you done, too?"
"Yes."
"Hey, is there a point in you taking fitness tests?" Saitama gives a curious look.
"Huh?"
"I mean, can't you just give them the data on your specs? Well, whatever. So how was it?"
"Both the written and fitness tests were far too simple."
"Right? Is that really all there is to becoming a hero?"
"Yet somehow you almost failed the written exam." Child Emperor snickers.
"Oi! I answered those questions perfectly!" Saitama retorts.
"Your answers to most of the questions were to punch them or be a good hero. Which, in hindsight, makes a lot of sense now. But if it were anyone else then our placement of you in the C-Class would have made sense." An executive seen previously commented.
"That much strength and they still put him at the bottom of C-Class? That's a little hard to believe." Tatsumaki thinks to herself while slowly coming to a conclusion. Tatsumaki then wears an irritated face and lightly glows in the dark theater.
"Why is my sister so scary…" Fubuki whimpers to herself.
"We should get our results soon. 70 points is a passing grade. The written test was so easy anyone could get full points on it. That just leaves the fitness test, which for us should not have posed any problems."
ONE HOUR LATER
"I got 100 points."
"Seriously?" Saitama wears a slightly surprised face.
"Yes. It says I'm certified as a class S hero. Class S? What's that?"
"Jeez Baldy, did you legitimately know nothing before meeting the tin can?" Tatsumaki grumbles out.
"Well … yeah? To be fair I never saw any other heroes." Saitama shrugs his shoulders.
"I'm sure we would have found Saitama-kun eventually. He would have eventually come to st-" Bang gets cut off abruptly.
"No spoilers. That scene will occur in the next episode. And to answer your question, no you would not have found Saitama if Genos never met him. Think of it as a butterfly effect. In an alternate timeline many of you were just like the heroes you deemed disrespectful. Only a handful of people grew to respect Saitama, acknowledging him for his true strength."
"My apologies. It seems my old age has affected me." Bang strokes his mustache.
"No worries. I'll be here to stop any spoilers so do not fret."
Meanwhile, the entirety of the theater members were wondering about the alternate timeline that the screen spoke of
"So how many of us exactly … insulted the Baldy in this alternate timeline?" Tatsumaki questioned in careful interest.
"The only people who befriended Saitama were Genos, Bang, King, Mumen Rider, and a few others. Everyone else either held neutral standings or out right despised him. Fubuki and Tatsumaki both tested Saitama to different extents and both ended up either respecting or befriending him."
Genos smiles to himself at hearing his name being spoken first
Bang wears a humble yet happy face at his name being mentioned while Bomb looks over at his brother, smiling as well
King and Mumen Rider feel surprised as they hadn't expected to get close to the Bald hero yet didn't feel upset
The others had differing opinions
"So I ended up doing the same in this timeline too? Hmph." Tatsumaki wonders silently at the alternate reality.
"Oh no. I wonder if some of the lower members of my army shamed Saitama in some way? I'll have to ask for forgiveness and correct their actions." Tank Top Master resolutely nods to himself while everyone just looks at him awkwardly.
"I must admit that you are all taking this alternate reality possibility very well."
"This is by far the least surprising thing we have learned from what has occurred." Metal Knight speaks out.
"Its not all that surprising that alternate dimensions or realities exist. There are already many theories on it and your existence sorta proves things." Child Emperor states in an analytical manner.
"Kinda sucks that we never knew the hidden hero among us in another universe." Zombie Man wonders aloud.
"I am sure these rankings mean little. How did you do, Master?
"Huh? Oh! The letter says I'm also…"
"Class S. I am not surprised. On top of that, the font size is bigger than mine. I expected nothing less, Master. By the way, what did they ask you at the interview?"
"Interview?"
"Yes."
"Oh boy. You set him up for success only for it to come crashing down." Metal Bat mutters out.
"Well at least Mr. Saitama is S-Class now?" Tareo tries to make the situation sound a little better.
"Just one final question, Genos. Does this building look familiar to you?"
An image of the House of Evolution headquarters is shown to the cyborg
"We've been secretly investigating a group of troublemakers that call themselves the 'House of Evolution.' Just when we identified its center of operations, we found the building had been mysteriously destroyed."
"And with overwhelmingly intense firepower." The bearded worker states with a look of curiosity toward the cyborg.
One of the executives switches the screen to an image of the destroyed base
"Are you responsible for this?"
"I am. Why?"
The executives look shocked as one of them stamps something on Genos' file
CERTIFIED S CLASS
"I see… I suppose it must be that they felt no need to go through the trouble of interviewing you. Master?"
Saitama is shown to be frozen as if he discovered something unfortunate
"Yeah, after all… I'm just a class C hero with a score of 71 points."
"Holy crap I thought they were exaggerating? You scored 21 points on the written exam?" Metal Bat exclaims in surprise.
"Jeez, did the grading system go up a few notches?" Zombie Man chuckles to himself at the Bald man's abysmal score.
"Did you not answer any of the questions?" Watch Dog man questions in a monotone voice.
"Uh, but I did. Not my fault they didn't like the answers." Saitama shrugs and answers in an equally monotone voice.
"Good lord. Even with your idiocy the questions shouldn't have been that hard." Tatsumaki sighs in annoyance, a headache slowly building.
"Oi… Well I have no argument for that. I was pretty bored." Saitama says with a blank face.
Everyone deadpans at the statement
"I see. So I mistakenly thought the top half of the 'C' was part of an 'S.'" Genos appears to be over analyzing the sheet of paper.
"Stop analyzing it!"
"It must be a mistake. I will talk to the person in charge."
"No, don't! You'll just embarrass me!"
"For once, I wish you did come to us, Demon Cyborg. I'm sure we could've fixed a lot of issues with Saitama's help." An executive sighs to himself, remembering all the missions and battles that could have been resolved with Saitama's aid, not realizing that Saitama helped in most of those battles.
"Yeah I agree. The Caped Baldy's strength would have greatly eased the work load." Child Emperor states while typing some things into his laptop.
"I mean, I've been doing this hero stuff for 3 years and crime rates haven't really gone down. I'm sure you guys could handle it if I didn't stay a hero." Saitama says without a thought in his bald head.
Everyone collectively shivers at the thought of Saitama not being a hero, as if the very idea could break reality
"Oi, Baldy, don't joke like that." Tatsumaki speaks in a mix of irritation and nervousness.
"Yeah what the shorty said. You do a lot of stuff … for a lot of people." Metal Bat quietly mutters, completely opposite of his brash nature.
Tatsumaki gives a death stare toward Metal Bat but says nothing
"If you hadn't been there at … that fight. I'm sure I and many others would have died. So don't think you don't contribute anything, Saitama." Mumen Rider looks resolute in his statement while avoiding spoilers as the screen would put it.
"Master! You've saved countless lives, including mine! How could you say that your actions have done nothing? You being a hero has most likely saved many and will save many more in the future!" Genos states vehemently.
Saitama wears a look of confusion. "Huh? But I wasn't joking, you guys are pretty great. Not that I would actually quit being a hero. I'll be there when you guys can't handle something." Saitama smiles towards the people behind him with a soft expression of content.
"Che, like that'll ever happen! We have Blast anyway." Tatsumaki states with full confidence, not realizing she didn't include herself within the number of people strong enough to stand at the top.
"If it's you, Saitama-kun, I believe no threat could harm us." Bang thinks to himself while grinning.
"Damn. Hero… huh?" Garou darkly thinks while Tareo just stares at him funnily.
"Man, the guy does have some inspirational moments. Maybe this whole ultimate master thing isn't that far off." Zombie Man thinks quietly while smirking.
The intercom dings
"Mr. Genos, Mr. Saitama, there will be a seminar for successful candidates at 4:00 PM. Please come to lecture hall #3."
"All right, come on. All that really matters is we passed. Let's get it over with and go home."
"Heh. Trying to switch the topic, Baldy?" Tatsumaki snickers.
"N-no. Just wanted to get home quicker, that's all." Saitama looks away in a look of embarrassment.
The scene switches to a handsome blue haired man on the phone
"We finally found the cyborg we've been looking for."
"So I've heard." Amai Mask waves off to his make-up artists.
"In consideration of his past accomplishments, we made an exception and certified him as a Class S hero."
"I just wanted to make sure you were notified of this."
"Yes, I approve. Genos, huh?" Amai is shown to be looking at Genos' file labeled classified.
LECTURE HALL #3
"First, congratulations on passing."
Saitama is seen chewing gum while Genos looks like he's just staring/glaring at the hero
"Now one of you only made it on a fluke, so unless you want your luck to go to waste, I better see you giving it your all.
"And don't get all puffed up! From here on, keep your hero status in mind and act modestly! After all, your faces will be placed on the Hero Association website."
Saitama begins blowing a bubble
"Did you hear me?" The hero questions in irritation.
"That goofball head of yours is gonna be shown to the whole world. If you don't want to humiliate yourselves…"
The hero gets up on the table podium and shows off some fighting moves
"Aspire to be a fine hero like me!"
"So you guys want me to be a hero like him?" Saitama asks rhetorically while pointing at the screen.
"NO!" The whole audience minus a few yell out.
Saitama's bubble blows up on his face as he falls backwards
"Master!"
The hero looks extremely pissed off
"As a class A hero, I have some influence over the Association. I'll make sure those who behave irresponsibly… lose points and get demoted. Don't you forget it!"
"How shameful." Bomb grumbles to his brother as Bang simply agrees.
"Snek really needs to be knocked down a peg or two." An associate member mutters.
A bunch of people silently agree
After cleaning up the bubble gum Saitama continues to ignore the seminar as he plays with a piece still stuck to his cheek
"What should I have for dinner?"
The scene changes to a warm dawn sky with Saitama and Genos walking together
"Apparently, the Hero Association was formed about three years ago. So it's only been three years?"
"It was after the grandchild of a millionaire called Agoni was attacked by a monster. The child was saved by a passerby."
Saitama is seen looking at a pamphlet with the mentioned Agoni on it
"WAIT!? DID THE BALDY SAVE THE DAMN BRAT?" Tatsumaki is the first to make the connection between the large chin of the Hero Association's benefactor.
"Wait. Holy shit. It is." Metal Bat mutters in disbelief.
"I am accessing the database … yeah it checks out. It's the same kid from the origin story episode." Child Emperor states in bewilderment as he stares at his laptop, almost triple checking his information.
"Unbelievable. So if it weren't for the Baldy we wouldn't be here?" Zombie Man questions out loud.
"Is this true?" A bunch of association employees question their superiors.
"We're just as surprised as you all are. We didn't make the connection until just now." Stitch sweats at the new information. Agoni would surely want to know the identity of his son's savior.
"I'm confused. What's all the fuss?" Saitama questions Genos while pointing at all the rambling people behind him.
"It seems, Sensei, that you started the hero association that we work for by saving that large chinned child from your debut as a hero." Genos states in a shellshocked tone, realizing how great his master truly is.
"Oh. Neat. That's nice of the Agoni dude to fund the heroes." Saitama smiles softly.
Meanwhile, most of the audience members were either having panic attacks or simply in disbelief at the fact that their careers were all started by the Bald man sitting in front of them
"When Agoni heard what had happened, he came up with this system and used his fortune to establish the Hero Association." Genos remarks.
"Well, they put on some pretty boring seminars."
"In any case, as new heroes, we'll be known around the world. Now we can work with our heads held high. Master… I guess I'm now officially your disciple. Please continue to guide me as my mentor."
"Yeah…"
"All right, Master. Good night."
"Yeah, see you." Saitama waves as Genos starts to leave.
"Crap… Maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to say I'd take a disciple. Especially this guy... " Saitama wears a face of dread at the untold future that awaits his new found status as a teacher.
"Sensei, am I not adequate enough?" Genos asks, slightly hurt.
"No no. You were a little eccentric, that's all. I haven't dealt with people in a long time, that's all. I'm glad I made you my disciple." Saitama throws a thumbs up at his disciple, truly meaning every word he said.
Genos sighs in relief and smiles slightly
The camera pans to Snek and a familiar executive having a conversation
"Those two newcomers today- did they really pass the exam? Their attitudes were awful! I'm Class A, rank damn it, and they had no idea who I was. Plus they don't know the first thing about how the world works. Damn amateurs! They'll be dirt-napping in no time." Snek angrily rants as he sips his coffee.
"No. Genos got perfect scores on both the written and physical exams. He's a phenomenal rookie who gained a class S ranking right off the bat. The other one, Saitama, had terrible scores on the essay, but scored a perfect on the physical. That's how he was able to pass at all."
"But in practically every activity on the fitness exam, he broke the Hero Association's test records by inconceivable margins. It's as if there's a god residing in that body."
Images of Saitama's test results slide by with the executive viewing the aftermath of the Bald hero's feats
The executive turns to a surprised Snek
"Snek, you've already been outranked by Genos. And Saitama may catch up with you soon enough."
"That jackass?" Snek looks irritated.
The scene switches to Saitama walking home alone
"If I get to the top of class C, then I'll get promoted to class B… And class A is above that, with class S even above that… I guess Genos is actually pretty amazing."
"Master, you are much more incredible. It is the association's fault for not finding you sooner." Genos states with admiration while glaring at the associates behind them.
"Oi oi. I appreciate the compliments Genos, but you're pretty impressive too. S-Class at such a young age is pretty cool." Saitama says while gesturing to the many powerful people behind them.
A few look in surprise at being referred to by the Bald hero
Some felt honored by being considered impressive
"I don't know … but maybe this isn't the kind of hero I wanted to be." Saitama looks at the horizon with a blank yet thoughtful stare.
"Hoh? Saitama-kun, may I ask what you meant by that?" Bang questions in curiosity.
"Oh. Well, I just didn't think rankings really mattered. To climb the ladder and gain more stuff. I mean, isn't being a hero about saving people? Why does monetary gain matter?" Saitama answered simply without even realizing his profound statement.
Many mouths opened in shock at the overly naive way of thinking, yet many resonated with that thought as well
"Baldy. You really are such an idiot sometimes." Tatsumaki hmphs out, as if exasperated.
"Oi! What's with all the name calling." Saitama bickers with a few of the heroes smiling slightly.
Genos simply observes, realizing that his Sensei was slowly changing
"Is this why we were brought here? Does the Screen truly wish to give Sensei his emotions back?" Genos wonders, realizing the truth behind their viewing of his Masters story.
"The newcomer seminar isn't over yet!"
A large portion of the theater face palm and groan at the "hero"
"In this business, there's a thing called rookie crushing. A lot of us heroes hate to be outranked. So we crush newbies early on... like this!" Snek throws a punch at Saitama hitting him square in the face.
The scene cuts to Snek face planted into the ground as Saitama walks away
The next day
The camera pans to an extremely large canyon as the duo of Master and Disciple are seen at the bottom
"Hero Registry?"
"Yes, I am a class S hero and you are a class C hero. We are both ranked last in our classes. Right now, we are still listed as Genos and Saitama, but as we perform more heroic acts, we will acquire hero names."
"Hero names? What are those?"
"I believe they are like nicknames that capture a hero's characteristics. For example, I might be the 'Blond Cyborg.'"
"Wait, if that's how it works, won't I be like the 'Caped Baldy?'" Saitama says while pointing at his cape in worry.
"Wow, you predicted the future. Great job Baldy." Tatsumaki sarcastically laughs out.
"May I ask what you two were doing in that canyon?" Puri Puri Prisoner questions the duo.
"I'm sure the screen will reveal what occurred as it will showcase one of Sensei's greatest feats of strength that I have seen." Genos states calmly while shivering at the memory of the "death punch".
"It wasn't that bad was it?" Saitama looks over to his tense disciple, only to receive a shake of the head.
"Sensei. I do not know if you realize, but it felt as if death was approaching. I truly thought I would die even knowing you would not have physically hit me." Genos mutters in shame.
A bunch of eyebrows raise at overhearing Genos' description of Saitama's punch
"Can't be that bad. I'm sure the dumb toaster's exaggerating." Tatsumaki thinks to herself.
"If it puts the Demon Cyborg in a state of fear … just how strong is this guy?" Fubuki wonders in confusion, remembering the amount of destruction the cyborg was capable of.
"Hm. Saitama-kun must have used one of these serious punches against the meteor. If Genos was subjected to that level of force it is no surprise he was put into a state of shock." Bang ponders over the great feat of strength Saitama revealed when defeating the meteor that not even Metal Knights missiles could dent.
"Ope. Guess I better tone down the serious punches huh?" Saitama just takes on a blank face at the thought of scaring his disciple that badly. I mean, he only gave him what he wanted right?
The rest of the theater just pondered over what could have effected the usually stoic cyborg so much
"Aside from being ranked by ability, you can also be ranked by popularity. There are some heroes that have fan clubs."
Saitama wears a look of interest
"Well, no one cares about that."
"Wha-?!" Saitama looks down in disappointment.
"Thank you for agreeing to my unreasonable request today."
"Yeah, well I did promise to make you my disciple…" Saitama mutters while walking far away.
"Is right here good?"
"Yes…"
"So we're just having a practice bout, right? Not fighting for real?"
"Yes, that's what I have in mind. But I want you to go all out, so I too will give it my all. Please grant my request." Genos' arms light up as he gets into a ready stance.
(The Cyborg Fights Plays)
"Do you have a death wish tin can?" Tatsumaki questions in irritation at the obtuse request.
"At the time, I did not know how strong Sensei was. I wished to find out for myself, but I do not think I would ever be capable of reaching his level of strength." Genos looks down at his hands while wondering when he'd be able to be strong enough to stand by his masters side.
Saitama, looking over to Genos, sighs at his disciple's look. "Genos I already told you, just keep working hard, and the strength you need will find you. You're a pretty great disciple by my standards." Saitama attempts to cheer his student up which seems to be effective as Genos suddenly looks determined and nods.
"What is up with the weird music?" Atomic Samurai questions to Bang as if he would know.
"Hm. Perhaps it is that new young people genre?" Bang ponders.
Garou just sighs at the two old heads' lack of knowledge despite Atomic Samurai only being middle aged.
Two thrusters emerge from the back of Genos' shoulder blades as he bursts forward in an immense display of speed
Genos attempts to deliver a kick, but missed and immediately begins another array of attacks
"So yah got upgrades or something?" Metal Bat questions with an impressed look.
"You seemed to have gained more speed and strength despite the short period of time." Drive Knight comments.
"Yes. Doctor Kuseno had just finished a new prototype set of arms for me to use against Sensei. He is an incredible man." Genos explains his new or presently old upgrades.
Saitama gives a slightly excited look as Genos speeds up and attempts to land a hit
As the fight goes on, Genos throws multiple kicks and bursts with more speed performing many impressive aerial maneuvers forcing Saitama to finally move from his spot
Genos fires an impressive heat blast attempting to catch Saitama off guard in the air, but Saitama dodges and lands on the ground
"That was close… My clothes could have got burnt up again." Saitama gives a look of worry at the thought of his clothes burning up.
Genos lets out a breath of steam/air before preparing his arms for the next attack. "I need more speed!"
Genos disappears in an even quicker display of speed
Saitama also disappears, matching Genos' swift blasts, and blocks or dodges Genos' many attempted hits
Atomic Samurai's eyes widen slightly before looking over to Bang. "You see it right?"
Bang nods. "He is dodging or blocking at an expert level despite having zero skill. And he hasn't attempted to retaliate either. Quite the fine teacher, ey?" Bang chuckles.
"Can't argue with that." Atomic Samurai just grunts in slight irritation at the realization.
Genos fires off a multitude of Machine Gun Blows at Saitama, but realizes something, halting his attack
"He's gone? Have I been chasing his afterimage this whole time?"
Genos quickly turns around and begins scanning the area to find his master before locating him running away along the canyon floor
"There!" Genos disappears and chases after his master.
Suddenly, Genos lands in front of Saitama and clasps his hands together, forming a large cannon
Genos fires an extremely large blast. "Incinerate!"
"I got him this time. Master will have to take me more seriously now…"
Saitama casually appears behind Genos patting his back then sticking his finger to his cheek
"Behind–"
"Okay, I win."
Genos retaliates by throwing a wild haymaker, but misses as Saitama dodges and lands inelegantly behind Genos
"Master…"
"Yah?"
"Have you forgotten the rules of the bout? Dodge any attack you are able to dodge. Take it seriously and no fooling around. Do not hold back. And… keep fighting until I am no longer able to fight."
A memory of Saitama saving Genos from Mosquito Girl and Carnage Kabuto plays within his mind. "Even Master Saitama himself cannot explain. The secret to his power… This fight may give me some insight into it."
The screen suddenly pauses as many of the audience groan out in annoyance as they were waiting in anticipation for the Bald Hero's supposed serious punch
"Ugh. Screen what's the problem!? We were just about to see the Baldy's punch!" Tatsumaki yells out in barely contained annoyance.
"Man, the action was getting so good!" Metal Bat whines out like a kid.
"Your machinery is not half bad, Demon Cyborg. The growth in strength is most commendable. He is even stronger than before." Metal Knight states.
"That destructive power is no joke." Child Emperor comments while licking a lollipop.
"Thank you. I have become even stronger now thanks to Doctor Kuseno. He enables my ability to fight as a hero."
The screen finally speaks up
"I have a question that all of you need to answer before continuing the viewing."
"Yeah what's up?" Metal Bat questions before anyone else could ask.
"I am able to let you all view what Genos felt as if you took his place in order to fully grasp what Saitama is capable of. I must warn you that there may be many side effects and it is advised that only the truly strong should participate. Though, I will not stop the weaker of you from experiencing it as it is a spectacle to behold. Except for you Tareo, you might die."
Tareo shudders and nods his head quickly. "I think I'm good. I don't need to see the punch!" Tareo shouts out in fear.
"Che. It can't be that bad. I want to see what the Baldy's made of." Tatsumaki smugly states.
"I'm sure I could handle it!" Darkshine flexes his muscles.
All of the S-Class minus Genos agree to feel the punch while all of the associates, Mumen Rider, Fubuki, and a few others decide to exempt from the experience
Garou and Bomb also decide to join as they wish to see the full extent of the Bald hero's power
"Very well. Don't say I didn't warn you."
Suddenly everyone individually gets teleported to the battlefield as if they had replaced Genos' position
The viewing plays out as normal
"Show me no mercy. Those were the rules, Master–". Suddenly Saitama appears out of nowhere in front of Genos, inciting a swift kick which gets quickly dodged.
Saitama disappears again then reappears behind Genos rearing back his fist
"What the-?!" Genos barely reacts by turning his head slightly.
Then, Saitama punches
DEATH
Most of the S-Class immediately faint with Tatsumaki doubling over and emptying the contents of her stomach while holding onto her head
Bang holds on dearly to his armrests while appearing extremely sweaty as if he had a heart attack
Bomb had remained strong, but crushed his chair's arms and appeared extremely nauseous
Garou had fainted along with the rest of the S-Class and appeared more distraught in his unconscious state
The robotic members of the group were more or less unaffected much like the Genos on screen, just surprised and slightly dazed, attempting to calculate what had just occurred
Zombie Man looked shellshocked, unable to move any part of his body or speak a single syllable, as if he was regenerating from an attack that never hit
Watch Dog Man and Metal Bat were surprisingly awake yet quaking in their seats, Metal Bat also having broken the armrests
Saitama was simply staring at the people behind him along with the rest of the theater goers that denied the experience as they had returned from their personal viewing of his punch
"Uh. Genos, are they good?" Saitama asks with worry and nervousness etched into his face.
"Sensei, no, I do not believe they are good." Genos bluntly states while shaking his head and getting up to aid the heroes.
Saitama and the rest of the theater members unaffected by the punch also move to help the heroes from their traumatic experience
"They didn't have the courtesy of Saitama blocking his own punch. I should have factored that variable into their experience. Oh well, at least no one died, that would have been unfortunate."
With the sound of a snap all the people who felt ill were suddenly either awake or recovered from their shocked state
"What the hell was that?" Zombie Man muttered.
"W-what the fuck are you Baldy?" Tatsumaki, still hunched over in her seat, questioned Saitama in a befuddled tone as Fubuki attempted to comfort her sister.
"My body didn't listen." Metal Bat wore an extremely displeased expression and appeared upset at the idea that he was too scared to even move.
"You weren't joking about his strength." Atomic Samurai stuttered out towards Bang while holding his head.
"It seems … I have underestimated Saitama-kun's strength." Bang chuckles almost drearily.
"I never imagined that any Monster would be capable of that much strength. Let alone someone human." Bomb spoke in a tired manner, still reeling from the exhausting experience.
"Uncle are you ok?" Tareo looked toward the confused Garou.
"What the fu- hell happened to me?" Garou looked over to the little boy with a slightly furious expression, not remembering a single thing from the supposed serious punch.
"I dunno. You fainted in your seat after the screen said he'd show the punch." Tareo shrugged while wearing a wary expression.
"I … fainted? I didn't even see the damn punch!?" Garou looked to be in intense thought and anger.
"Metal Knight. D-did you get a reading of anything? Any scans?" Child Emperor barely managed to question the other intellect in the room.
"I was unable to do anything. I also underwent this hysteria that befell us all. It seems that my creation did not suffer any damage, but it feels as if the screen forbade me from taking any scans or recordings." Metal Knight answers.
"Genos. I must ask. Is this the strongest attack Saitama is capable of?" Drive Knight asks while being helped up by the mentioned cyborg.
The theater goers look over to the two having overheard the question
"I… do not know." Genos mutters out.
"Nah." Saitama simply says at the same time as Genos.
"What do you mean, nah? The damn Baldy caught me off guard and broke through all my mental and physical barriers, but all he has to say is nah? I thought the damn walking toaster was joking about the death punch. Just how strong is this Baldy?" Tatsumaki questions in barely contained anger.
"I mean, I went easy on Genos. Like I told you before, I've never thrown an all out punch since I lost my hair." Saitama shrugs while addressing the furious Tornado.
"I fear that we may never see Saitama at his peak. Or that we might have to one day." Bang softly laughs at the Bald hero's words.
"Sister, what did you see exactly?" Fubuki attempted to ask, slightly curious as to what broke her sister down to this level.
"I-I can't explain it. He caught me off guard, but … the tin can wasn't lying about it being a death punch." Tatsumaki mutters in a mix of annoyance and shame at being made so vulnerable.
"Well. Let us move on. I'm sure this was a jarring experience, but we have plenty more to view."
"You're kidding me. That's all you have to say after that punch? You gotta give us an explanation or something!" Metal Bat shouts out in indignation.
"There is nothing to explain. I offered to show you what Genos experienced and you accepted. That's that."
"Can you answer a question for me?" Zombie Man looks up as if directly questioning whatever being was keeping them here.
"Depends."
"What exactly is Saitama? He's definitely not fucking human anymore." Zombie Man states bluntly.
"Oi, I'll have you know I'm as human as anyone here." Saitama grumbles while everyone gives him the biggest look of "What the hell is that bull" in all of existence.
"We can't ignore what we were introduced to, Caped Baldy. You brought about an instinctual terror in all of us. Which is an impressive feat since you even brought the Tornado of Terror to her knees." Metal Knight's robot begins shifting in its chair as if it was uncomfortable oddly enough.
"I WAS CAUGHT OFF GUARD YOU DUMB ROBOT!" Tornado screeches out.
"You don't even know what it feels like do you? Of course you don't, you're the only one who could do something like that. Maybe besides King." Child Emperor laughs in mock despair while ignoring the indignant Tatsumaki.
"I'm so glad I sat out the punch." King was currently sitting in his chair undeterred by the events. To everyone else it was just King being that strong, but in reality, he was extremely grateful the Screen allowed him to avoid participating in the experience without having to voice it out in front of the others.
"You've had enough of a break. Let us continue."
"Argh. Just give us a damn minute!" Metal Bat argues.
The screen starts to play as Metal Bat does not receive an answer, pissing the hero off even more
"I'm starving. Time for lunch." Saitama loses his serious look before lightly smacking Genos on the head and turning to walk off.
"Let's grab some udon noodles."
Genos slowly powers down as his arms cool off
"Okay…"
Saitama is seen just comically walking in a random direction
I am prepared to do anything in order to become stronger. But…" Genos turns around as his eyes widen.
"I can't picture myself even approaching Master's power." As Genos turns, Saitama's punch is revealed to have completely disintegrated the canyon wall behind Genos and destroyed two mountain tops in the distance while splitting the sky far above.
"What the fuck. I can do that too, but… the Bald idiot did it with just the wind pressure. And he says he can go even stronger?" Tatsumaki didn't bother to hide her look of shock.
"Yeah I don't think I can pull myself back together if I get hit with that." Zombie Man looks down at his hands as if contemplating his slightly more mortal life.
"He did that … with the wind pressure…" Child Emperor seemed to have shut down. Either that or he had run out of sugar.
"Oh my." Puri Puri Prisoner mutters out.
"That kind of strength isn't measurable." Tank Top Master just mumbles to himself.
"Seeing the destruction from another angle does put things into perspective. I did not see the mountains before." Genos mutters in silence.
Meanwhile, through all of this, Saitama looked uncomfortable at causing so many people their own discomfort. I mean to him, it wasn't that bad? Right?
"Not at all...He's on a different level."
Saitama turns around, realizing Genos hadn't been following
"What's the matter? You don't like udon?" Saitama questions the still shellshocked cyborg.
The scene switches to a parking lot with Amai speaking to someone on the phone
"I see, that's his location? Thanks, I'll head there now. No, don't worry. I'm just going to let him know what the industry expects of him." With that, Amai hangs up and gets in his car.
The camera turns to a small looking udon place
"I'm glad you like udon."
"Yes, I'm not very picky." Genos seemed to still be contemplating the previous bout.
"Well, I'm also kinda low on funds right now… Hey, how about another match, Genos?" Saitama wears a small smile while pointing at a poster on the wall.
SUPER-SPICY MEGA-MONSTER UDON CHALLENGE PRIZE: 50,000 yen!, FAILURE: 10,000 yen!
The scene switches to both Saitama and Genos chugging udon buckets
"That's insane!"
The shop owner looks on silently, in dismay at the cyborg
"No way!"
"I give up…" Saitama hits the table with his head, seemingly filled to the brim with udon noodles.
"I bet you could handle all of that in a second huh Pig God?" Darkshine chuckles slightly, attempting to forget what he had experienced.
"Actually no." Pig God answers.
"Huh, wait what?" Tatsumaki mutters out without realizing, out of sheer shock.
"What? The great Pig God can't finish a food challenge?" Child Emperor snickers.
"No, they just don't let me participate. It makes things too unfair." Pig God chuckles a little, while still stuffing his face.
"Figures." Watch Dog Man comments.
"Man, this guy hasn't stopped eating since we got here. How the hell is the screen keeping him fed?" Zombie Man ponders at the Screen's power.
"Is that it?"
"Man, you're awesome!" Saitama shouts out.
The door rattles open as a newcomer shows up
"Welcome?!" The shop keeper suddenly looks up in surprise.
Amai Mask walks in heading toward Genos and Saitama
"You must be Genos. I'm Amai Mask, class A rank-1. I'd like to talk to you."
"Class A, rank-1?" Saitama looks suspiciously at the blue haired man.
"It's Amai Mask!"
"He's so gorgeous!"
"Talk?
"He might be a rookie crusher… Be careful, Genos!" Saitama whispers to Genos.
"I see. Please wait here, Master."
"Very well. I was just thinking about taking a walk to digest my food." Genos addresses Amai Mask.
"I hear you were certified class S by special exception."
"What of it?"
The scene swaps back to Saitama crunching on some ice
"I wonder if he's all right…"
"Sensei was worried for me?" Genos wears a face of slight surprise.
Genos walks back in
"Done already?"
"Yes."
"You really are class S. To have the top-ranked class A hero come to personally crush you…"
"That's not it."
"So he wasn't here to fight? Then what gives?"
"In short… He came to welcome me."
"Huh? What's that mean?"
"Excuse me! You're friends with Amai Mask, right? May I shake your hand?"
Genos looks unsure before sticking his hand out
"Thank you very much!"
"Shake mine too!"
The scene changes to Saitama and Genos walking outside
"Class S and class C heroes sure get treated differently. If you think about it, though, isn't that like fraud money?"
"Of course we get treated differently, Baldy. We're S-Class. We deal with way bigger threats than any A-Class let alone C-Class. Well I guess you're an exception." Tatsumaki explains, not even surprised at the Bald hero's lack of knowledge.
"Well at least your S-Class now, right?" Darkshine chuckles.
"Guess that means we're out of a job. We can just let Caped Baldy handle everything!" Metal Bat jokes sarcastically.
"Oi oi. I ain't taking all your jobs. I can't be everywhere at once!" Saitama yells out in mock anger.
A few of the audience members chuckle at that
Genos is seen holding a welcome gift packet
"I mean, you're a cyborg, right?"
"Yes…"
"Never mind. In any case, now we're even with a win and a loss apiece. Starting today we're professional heroes. Let's do our best, okay?"
"Yes."
The camera pans to the previous conversation between Genos and Amai Mask
"A professional hero must always be a beautiful symbol of justice. That is my philosophy. It's especially true if you're a class S hero."
"Che. What a load of bull. All looks and glamor with this prick." Tatsumaki grumbles within her mind.
"Come on, there's no need to glare at me. I came all the way here just to see you. How was the Certification Exam?
"It was nothing but rubbish. An exam like that is a waste of time. If you came to fight, get on with it. This, too, is a waste of time."
Genos steps forward, prepared to fight, before Amai raises a hand
"Being hot-blooded is fine, but if you take it too far … you'll get burnt." Amai Mask gives a menacing stare.
"I'll forget your criticism of the Association. Thank you for your time. I welcome you to the team. We expect great things from you… Genos."
The scene switches back to Saitama and Genos now on a bridge
"Master… I will be back later."
"Oh, okay… I'll see you."
"Yes, goodbye."
Amai is seen in a balcony on top of a large building, gazing upon the city
"A waste of time? Such an interesting fellow…"
The scene abruptly switches to Saitama, shirtless, eating an ice cream in his room
"Uh… So when you said, 'I'll be back…' This is what you meant?"
"Yes. I went home to gather my things." A Genos with a backpack filled impossibly to the top is seen at the door of Saitama's small apartment.
"May I live here?"
"Absolutely not."
"I have rent money." Genos sets down a stack of cash.
"Did you bring a toothbrush?"
"Yes!"
The screen cuts to black, indicating the episodes ending
"PFHH. Tin Can, you asked the Baldy to let you live with him? What are you his maid?" Tatsumaki lets out boisterous laughter at the hilarity of the situation.
"Correct." Genos cuts off Tatsumaki's laughter, now being replaced with confusion.
"Oi oi. Don't get it wrong. He just helps with the groceries… and dishes … and everything… ok nevermind." Saitama trails off, realizing how ridiculous he sounded now.
"Damn I can't believe you accepted right after he brought the money out." Zombie Man chuckles at the frugal nature of the Bald hero.
"Why don't you live in the Association's living quarters? Since you're S-Class now, you'll have access to all the facilities. And the major discounts." Child Emperor attempts to get the Bald man closer for his own studies while smirking at the thought.
"How much are we talking on discounts?" Saitama looks on curiously.
"Around-" Stitch attempts to talk.
"50% for S-Class. By the way didn't the cyborg tell you about that?" Tatsumaki smirks at Genos' look of mixed fear, shame, and anger.
"Sensei, I sincerely apologize." Genos looks down in shame.
"It's fine, Genos. I know you weren't holding out on purpose." Be that as it may, Saitama still looked annoyed at missing so many savings.
"I guess I'll move in then. After the viewing and all." Saitama shrugs.
"Very well. Preparations will be made after the viewing." An executive speaks.
"Wait! How are we going to explain the Caped Baldy's jump in rankings to the public and other heroes? There's going to be an outrage!" A random executive suddenly realizes.
A bunch of the associates wear some shocked faces
"I'm sure we can figure something out." A worried associate begins to panic slightly attempting to reassure himself.
"Oh calm down. The lot of you look like headless chickens. With the backing of the entire S-Class, or most of it I guess, the public isn't gonna think about it." Tatsumaki states adamantly while scoffing as she looks over to her co-workers.
"Well yeah duh. He's got my word." Metal Bat laughs as if it's the most obvious thing ever.
"He's got mine too. Will make clearing jobs way easier." Zombie Man grins.
"If he lets me run some tests he's got my vote." Child Emperor licks a lollipop.
"Mine as well." Bang unsurprisingly raises his hand.
"Need I say anything?" Tank Top Master chuckles.
"His muscles will shine just as bright as mine!" Darkshine flexes and poses in rapid succession.
"I'm sure that if the Hellish Blizzard also vouches for Saitama then it will improve his standing." Fubuki begrudgingly adds her own support.
"I don't know if my vote counts, but I definitely vouch for Saitama's hero work!" Mumen Rider happily states.
The rest of the S-Class give their nods of agreement to vouching for the Bald hero while Tatsumaki just grins at the executives who all begin looking at each other, wondering how the hell a single man ended up uniting the S-Class
"Uh guys? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your support, but what if they think that I still cheated somehow? Won't your reputation get put on the line too? I know I'm not the most liked guy in the public's eyes. I don't wanna bring you guys down with me." Saitama questions an almost impossible reality with a blank face.
"Oh my lord, you idiot Baldy. Forget the entire S-Class, just having my word would literally kill all the negativity around your name!" Tatsumaki gives Saitama a look of absolute irritation.
"Man you really are not that smart. I calculate that with all of the S-Class's support, the top ranking B-Class and C-Class, along with the entire association's backing, that if a single person even says something bad about you. Well, let's just say they might not exist for long." Child Emperor states in his analytical tone while typing into his laptop again.
"With our knowledge of your deeds we will be able to finally give credit where it is due. So rest easy, Caped Baldy." Stitch reassures Saitama.
"Well, ok. If you guys are alright with it I'm happy too. But I want a damn name change." Saitama smiles softly, but grunts the last part out in annoyance.
"Nah. We gotta keep the name. It's iconic at this point." Metal Bat laughs while poking Zombie Man in the back.
"Yeah, gotta agree, I don't think I can call you anything other than Bald." Zombie Man chuckles at the more irritated Bald hero.
"It'll be like our inside joke amongst the theater group." Darkshine also joins in with the laughing Metal Bat.
The group laughs as Saitama smiles, they continue to converse before they finally get interrupted by the screen
"Alright, now that you've settled. You will have a short break before the next episode. Then after that you will get your personal rooms. Requests for personal items can be made if you wish. Then after sleeping, we will continue with the last 6 episodes of season 1. Is that clear?"
The room erupts with ok's and hai's
Thanks everyone for reading! I'm finally done with finals and all that jazz. I really hope I did the death punch and fighting scenes justice. I'm a new writer so I ain't good yet. This is just a hobby I started after all. Oh also, I decided to add the Agoni's child being the kid Saitama saved into the story because I didn't realize there was a direct scene in the show until I rewatched it. So there you go, credit given to Saitama. I'll be rewriting my own story so chapters for this series will come out later than expected, but I haven't thrown this story out at all so don't worry! Hope you all had a fantastic read! - TheWritingKaiju
