Chapter 1

Today's the day! It's finally here! I'm so happy that I started to use my socks to slide across the carpet in my room as I dance happily. You might be wondering why I'm so happy. Well… it all started when an arcade game called Marshmallow Sugar Blasters came out in the 90s. When Clyde and I began to hang out we fell in love with the game when my parents got me the console version. And when it started to become a series, we bought and played game, after game, after game.

Ever since we learned that the original game is being re-released to arcades, I knew we had to be the first ones at Gus' Games and Grub to play it. I've been marking down the days of my calendar, patiently waiting for this day to come. Now that the day is finally here, I'm waiting for Clyde to either call or text me when he is ready to go. But then…it happened…

Lori (Calls from the hallway): "Project Day everyone!"

Oh no…Not Project Day! No! Hold on…I open my bedroom just a smidge to see what is going on in the hallway without being noticed. And it's worse than I thought. All my sisters gather around each other, while some hold supplies, like Lana carrying her toolbox. While the others have roll-up pieces of paper, no doubt plans for projects that they want to do.

Oh! For those of you who don't know: Project Day is not a holiday. It's when a sibling of the Loud Family can call the rest of the siblings to help them with a project for a whole day. And the called-upon siblings HAVE to drop everything that they were doing to help. I'm not sure when this all started…probably Lori's idea.

Sure it's great to help a sister out…but...I've been planning this day for months. And all of a sudden they call a Project Day without even asking me if I can do it. Trust me…this isn't their first time doing this. And it's not like I can say no to them either. Literally! I tried to get out of a Project Day once. But all my sisters cornered me and gave me long looks of complete betrayal and disappointment. To this day I can't even try to say no without feeling guilty. Maybe I can sneak out before they come knocking on my door.

?: "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

Who said that?! I asked as I looked around my room for the owner of the voice. It couldn't be Lucy, it didn't sound like her.

?: "Down here!"

It actually sounds like me, but mini…

?: "On your left shoulder, Lincoln!"

My shoulder?! I take a look in the mirror on my desk. And I couldn't believe my eyes! Standing on my left shoulder…is a tiny ME?! With crystal white wings on his back, a halo floating above his head, and a name tag on his shirt with a C on it. Who are you?

?: "I'm your conscience."

My conscience? I ask with a raised brow…

Conscience: "You know, the part of yourself that tells you from right from wrong."

Okay…if you are my good conscience. Then shouldn't there be another mini-me dressed like a devil standing on my right shoulder?

Conscience: "Everyone's different when it comes to their conscience. So don't overthink it. Anyway, you have to help your sisters with Project Day."

What?! They have all projects to do. It's going to take all day. And Clyde will contact me about going to Gus's before it opens any second.

Conscience: "Let me ask you this: Have you ever called a Project Day on your sisters… for a project ..." (Points his finger at me): "…YOU have to get done?"

Well…I never declared a project day personal. But I have gathered my sisters together and asked them for their help with a plan.

Conscience: "And don't you get frustrated when they can't."

Only when they sneak out on me when I'm talking…Besides, they usually give me a reason why they can't help. And what about Clyde, he'll be so disappointed if I cancel on him today.

Conscience: "Dude…what about disappointing your sisters? They must all have projects that they need to get done before a deadline. And you and Clyde can always reschedule.

Yeah…but it wouldn't be as cool to play Marshmallow Sugar Blasters on a day, after it got released.

Conscience: "You should go out there and see what your sisters are working on."

My conscience says as he points to my door. Just then there's a knock. It's Luna…

Luna: "Come on little bro. We're having a meeting in Lori's room to discuss project day."

Great, now I have to go! Since my chance of escape is now gone. Hmph! So out I went, from my room all the way to Lori and Leni's.
