(We fade to the palace gate, which Jerry is guarding. Mouse Fitzgerald is on his way out, while holding a stack of cards.)
Mouse Fitzgerald: Well, hello there!
(Jerry doesn't respond.)
Mouse Fitzgerald: I guess there's not much to say, eh Jerry? Seeing how in two days, you'll be waking up in Chuckle City! Ha! Y'know, I just came from dinner with the boss and mother, and they invited me over again tomorrow night! Heh, I guess they must like me. Why don't you like me, Jerry?
Jerry Mouse: Eeesh...
Mouse Fitzgerald: Y'know, it wouldn't be too hard to show me that you like me. Just a little bow, that's all. Is that so hard? Eh, who knows? I'm a very influential guy. I might be able to work something out for you and your family...
Jerry Mouse: Arrogance is not fitting for a fool, Mouse Fitzgerald! Much less is lying fitting for a right hand man! I'll NEVER bow to you!
(Mouse Fitzgerald throws his card stack in shock.)
Mouse Fitzgerald: Hngggh...oh yeah?! Well, maybe this "foolish right hand man" can arrange for you to take your trip to Tickle Town TONIGHT!
(Mouse Fitzgerald storms back through the mansion gates, leaving Jerry worried. We cut to a card flipping over, revealing the word "Janet", which was the answer to "Who was the youngest Jackson?". Then, we cut to Boss Taitei in his bedroom, while Oliver is reading him his recorded events for the day.)
Oliver: "9:28 a.m.: Boss puts on his slippers and brushes his teeth. 9:32: Boss cuts himself shaving".
Boss Taitei: Ouch! I remember that one. How 'bout something more recent? You got anything more recent?
(Oliver looks through his scroll.)
Boss Taitei: Thanks for doing this. Y'know, it really does help me sleep.
Oliver: 1:40: Boss is joined by Mouse Fitzgerald in the throne room".
Boss Taitei: I really like it when you read me these records. I guess you could say it's the story of me!
Oliver: "1:45: Mouse Fitzgerald leaves to get mother. 1:47: Chef arrives with wedding cake".
(Boss Taitei's eyes open in suspense.)
Oliver: "1:50: Boss stands up to eat cake".
Boss Taitei: Ooh! This is a good one! Excitement! Drama!
Oliver: "1:51: The boss's life is saved by the guard, Jerry. 1:52..."
Boss Taitei: Wait! Wait! Wait! Did you say Jerry saved my life? He's that little brown mouse, right?
Oliver: Uh, yep.
Boss Taitei: Jerry, huh? Did we ever do anything to thank him for that?
Oliver: Uh, nope.
Boss Taitei: That's a shame. Maybe I oughta give him a card or something, y'know, to show my appreciation?
(A knocking is heard at the door.)
Boss Taitei: I wish I were more creative with things like that. Uh, come in!
(Mouse Fitzgerald bursts through the door, out of breath.)
Mouse Fitzgerald: Boss! I have a most urgent request! I'm wondering if you can...
Boss Taitei: (Interrupting Mouse Fitzgerald) W-wait a minute there, Mouse Fitzgerald! Lemme ask you something. I need a little creative advice.
Mouse Fitzgerald: Ah...oh..okay. What is it?
Boss Taitei: Okay, there's this really great guy that I really wanna thank, y'know, showing my appreciation for something he did. You got any ideas?
Mouse Fitzgerald: (Thinking Boss Taitei is talking about himself) Oh, heh, well King I'm flattered! I, uh...
Boss Taitei: (interrupting Mouse Fitzgerald) I was thinking of a card or something.
Mouse Fitzgerald: Oh, no, no! No, cards are nice, but this sounds like a very special guy!
Boss Taitei: Uh-huh!
Mouse Fitzgerald: It sounds like the kinda guy who deserves a...parade!
Boss Taitei: A parade! Hmm...
Mouse Fitzgerald: Yeah! I think this guy should be dressed in royal robes, and be marched through the whole city on your horse! And...and..and maybe you should even let him wear one of your crowns!
Boss Taitei: I guess he is pretty special.
Mouse Fitzgerald: And one of your most noble sons should lead this man through the streets proclaiming, "This is a really neat guy! The boss really likes him! He's brave and has rugged good looks!"
(Both Boss Taitei and Oliver look a bit confused.)
Boss Taitei: Ya see, Mouse Fitzgerald? You're the creative one around here! What would I do without you?
Mouse Fitzgerald: Oh, well, y'know, thank you your highness. I, uh...I...
Boss Taitei: (interrupting Mouse Fitzgerald) All those things you mentioned, every last one, do that for the good guard Jerry, the man who saved my life!
(This horrifies Mouse Fitzgerald.)
Mouse Fitzgerald: Eh?!
Boss Taitei: And...and you be the one to go with him on that parade, okay?
Mouse Fitzgerald: Eeeee!
Boss Taitei: I knew I could count on you. Lucky thing you dropped by! Now, what was it you wanted?
Mouse Fitzgerald: (too horrified to even ask) Eh...gnegh...
Boss Taitei: Y'know, maybe you should ask me tomorrow. I'm getting kinda sleepy. Goodnight!
(Oliver slams the door in Mouse Fitzgerald's face, who's still horrified. Meanwhile in the Brisby's new home.)
Martin Brisby: Hey, Teresa and Cynthia!
Teresa Brisby: What is it, Martin?
Martin Brisby: There is gonna be a parade for Jerry you know the guy who saved the boss's life!
(Teresa and Cynthia were delighted.)
Cynthia Brisby: Oh boy, a parade!
Martin Brisby: Yeah, it's gonna be fun to watch!
Timothy Brisby: I wish I can watch the parade.
Martin Brisby: Don't worry Timothy, we can see the parade perfectly from this view.
Timothy Brisby: Well that's good.
(Mia arrives.)
Cynthia Brisby: Mom's here!
Mia Mouse: Kids, I'm home!
Teresa Brisby: Mom, there's gonna be a parade for Jerry the man who saved the boss's life!
Mia Mouse: Oh, that's good.
Martin Brisby: And it's gonna be fantastic!
Mia Mouse: I know it is well time for bed how about a story?
Cynthia Brisby: Oh boy, storytime!
Timothy Brisby: Yeah, storytime!
