Ben 10: Alien Rebirth

Chapter 51: Destroy All Aliens, Part 1

The city of Bellwood was calm that night…aside from a high speed chase going in the middle of the street.

One cop said on his radio, "in pursuit of a runaway vehicle! Proceeding West on Pugsley Blvd, near Kline Avenue!"

Another cop leaned out his window and fired on the retreating vehicle, which, to be precise, looked like some kind of massively souped-up tank!

And what vehicle should soon join the chase?

The Rustbucket, of course! Max drove as fast as he could with Gwen in the passenger seat and Ben in-between them, leaning against the dashboard.

Ben remarked, "okay, that is some tank!"

Gwen rolled her eyes, "it's not a tank. It's a fully automated urban assault vehicle!"

Ben said, "it LOOKS a lot like a tank."

Hope emerged from the back of the RV and said, "well whatever it is, we gotta take it down."

The "not tank" extends its wheels, hanging loosely from stalks. This allowed the vehicle to push itself up and leap around the street like an animal, causing a ton of destruction. The vehicle began firing lasers and missiles across the streets. Max quickly turned the corner to cut off the vehicle.

This caused the vehicle to crash into the side of a building. Max smirked, but it quickly faded as the auto-tank managed to get back up! And it began to set its sights on the Rustbucket….

Max quickly began to back up the RV as lasers began shooting at it! The auto-tank then fired a missile, damaging one of the Rustbucket's tires, and making it spin out of control, but managing to get to an overpass, preventing the auto-tank from getting to them. Though this was short lived, as he vehicle started wrecking the overpass.

Three blood red laser beams began to get closer and closer to the RV.

Max said as he rose from the driver's seat and grabbed a Plumber rifle, "whatever this thing is, it's out of control…."

Ben smirked and rose to his feet, pulling down his wristband to reveal the Omnitrix as he said, "which means it's hero time!"

Ben tried to leave the RV, but Max forced him back into his seat and said, "not on a school night. I promised your parents I'd have you home by 8:00."

Max jumped out of the RV and began to rain heavy fire upon the vehicle.

Ben said, "well, according to my watch, it's time for an Upgrade…."

Hope smirked, "nice one."

Ben said, "thanks."

Ben ran out of the RV and dialed up the Omnitrix, until he saw the symbol of Upgrade on the dial.

Ben pressed down, and in a flash of green light, transformed into Upgrade.

Gwen then stepped forward and said, "hold up, maybe a dismantling spell would work better?"

Upgrade said, "no, what we need is for Upgrade to merge with it and destroy it from within."

Gwen said, "oh please, a dismantling spell would work much better."

Hope face-palmed. Some things never changed….

They began arguing back and forth.

"Upgrade!"

"Dismantling spell!"

"Upgrade!"

"Dismantling spell!"

Hope groaned, "why are we even arguing about this?!"

Upgrade pointed out, "good point."

Upgrade formed into a puddle and slithered around Gwen. Gwen groaned as Upgrade slithered across the ground, slowly reforming to normal until he was close enough to leap at the auto-tank and merge with it, covering it with the familiar green and black pattern. A whole bunch of weapons emerged from the auto-tank.

Upgrade commented, "what the Hell? I wasn't expecting this."

Gwen said, "Ben, keep it still; I'm gonna try to dismantle it. Jump off right before the spell hits!"

Upgrade didn't hear her, too busy looking at all the guns as he said, "say wha-?"

Hope tried to say, "Gwen, wait-"

Gwen exclaimed, "mechanae discombobulous!"

Gwen blasted the spell at the tank, by went wide-eyed as she realized her mistake as the spell hit Upgrade and the tank!

Upgrade yelled, "WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUCK!"

Gwen yelled in shock and worry, "sorry! Sorry! Sorry!"

The tank sputtered and shook before it fell to pieces, Max running away from the parts falling everywhere before Hope casted a forcefield around her, Gwen and Max. Upgrade peeked himself away from the auto-tank, groaning and shuddering as pink mana still coursed through his body, pink sparks dancing all around them. It seemed to also affect the Omnitrix, causing him to turn back into Ben much sooner. He groaned as he staggered, placing a hand to his forehead as the workers lingered on the watch for a moment before vanishing.

Hope and the others ran over to Ben.

Hope asked, "are you okay?!"

Ben gave a tired chuckle, "yeah, heh, you should see the other guy…."

Gwne asked Max, "are you alright, Grandpa?"

Max said, "fine, just glad I got away fast enough."

Ben and Gwen then turned to each other.

They yelled in unison, "this is all your fault! My fault? How is this my fault?!"

Gwen groaned, "you're the idiot who upgraded that thing!"

Ben said, "um, HELLO! I had it under control, and then you used your spell without making sure I heard you! This is all you!"

Hope said, "yeah, I agree Gwen. Upgrade was the perfect choice to dismantle that thing from within, but you used your spell anyway."

Gwen realized she was definitely the one in the wrong and said, "I….. I'm sorry…. It WAS my fault…."

Ben sighed and said, "it's okay…. It was an accident."

Gwen and Ben looked at each other and nodded, Hope smiling a little.

Max said, "well, now that that's out of the way, we should get out of here…."

The four of them went back into the Rustbucket, Ben not noticing that the hourglass symbol on the watch was a clash of pink and green….

….

We see the streets of Bellwood, completely empty with dark green clouds in the sky.

Ben goes down the street on his hoverboard. He looked utterly confused and worried about the lack of a single person in Bellwood.

Ben called out, "hello? Gwen? Hope? Grandpa? Grandma? Kevin? Ken? Julie? Cash or JT even?"

As he floated past a gas station, he continued looking around.

He murmured, glancing inside an empty car, "where IS everybody...?"

Ben looked around in growing panic, realizing that he was all alone in the middle of the city. Ben lowered his hoverboard and went over towards a gas station.

He muttered, "where the heck is everyone?"

Ben was so confused by this, he didn't even notice the lack of Omnitrix on his wrist!

As he kept showing, he saw a single figure in the middle of the road, as still as a statue with their arms crossed.

Ben called out, "hello?"

Suddenly, the figure was engulfed in flames, particularly around the palms of their hands!

As the individual lit up, it became clear that this wasn't Max, but a Pyronite instead!

It was Heatblast!

The fire alien began to stretch out its arms towards Ben!

Ben asked in confusion, "Heatblast?"

He then had to quickly dodge a fireball that nearly took his head off.

Ben exclaimed, "why are you attacking me?!"

The Pyronite kept shooting flames at Ben, aiming for the hoverboard! Ben quickly moved out of the way and tried to make his escape, desperately trying to avoid the streams of flame!

Ben asked himself, "how is this possible?! YOU'RE ME!"

More and more flaming projectiles were shot at the bot, who continued to evade them as best as he could. Heatblast began blazing towards the retreating hero, forcing Ben to use his hoverboard to scale a building. Heatblast shot flames up at Ben, but it was no use, as he managed to get to the top of the building.

Ben smirked and said, "suck it!"

But that wasn't the end of his strife, as loud banging came from the wall behind him. He slowly turned to see FourArms bursting out of the wall!

Ben yelled, "FourArms?! What the Hell?! Are you the Kool-Aid Man or something?!"

Ben quickly restarted his hoverboard and got to escaping this next alien. But FourArms didn't wanna make it easy for him, and leapt in front of him swinging at Ben. All four arms! Ben quickly sent his hoverboard behind the alien and began to use FourArms' arms like stairs, climbing up the hulking Tetramand. Ben then kicked off of his was and landed back in his hoverboard. He swiftly started flying away to avoid the roaring red-skinned alien.

Ben yelled, "what is this?! Ben 10 Live?!"

FourArms leapt at him again but accidentally fell down to the road below the buildings they were chasing Ben on.

Ben flew past the overpass as he groaned, "this better be a prank Gwen is pulling on me…."

That's when he began to pick up an awful smell and the sound of bug wings beating as fast as lightning.

Ben turned his head to see Stinkfly flying after him!

Ben yelled, "DAMNIT!"

Stinkfly began spewing balls of slime at Ben! Ben flew down an alleyway to try and escape the bug alien, and pressed his back against the wall. Stinkfly flew past the alleyway as Ben caught his breath.

Ben whispered, "okay, definitely not a spell…."

Without any warning, two Petrosapien hands burst out of the wall on either side of Ben's head!

Ben screamed and quickly moved out of the way as Diamondhead pulled the wall apart.

Ben groaned, "whoever said that diamonds are a girl's best friend deserves to be beaten with a broom!"

Ben began dodging crystal shards as he made it out of the alleyway and sped up. He began to head towards the park, and quickly had to dodge out of the way of blaster fire! He looked to see Ten-Ten firing at him from the roof! Ben sped up even more as he made it into the park, flying through the trees. Wildmutt was suddenly leaping from branch to branch, roaring as they fired quills at the hoverboard. Luckily, none of them managed to destroy the hoverboard. The Vulpimancer growled as they managed to catch the board in their jaws whilst chasing Ben.

Ben yelled, "knock it off, fido!"

Ben went around a tree and managed to use a stray branch to knock Wildmutt off of his board.

But before Ben could catch his breath, electric blasts fired at him! Ben turned to see Feedback and Buzzshock both shooting lightning at him!

Ben then had to begin dodging vines that swung at him, seeing Wildlvine tearing after him on the ground. Ben looked forward and screamed as he quickly dodged Silverfang as he lunged at him and landed in a tree!

Ben groaned, "WHO'S NEXT?!"

Ben's hoverboard began to shake, and he looked down to see Upgrade merged with it!

Ben groaned, "great, the one time I don't want an upgrade!"

Ben was flung to the ground! He broke his fall by rolling across the ground, and began sprinting. But Ben found himself being carried high into the air by a gigantic hand!

The gigantic hand belongings to WayBig!

Ben sighed, "why'd it have to be WayBig?"

WayBig bellowed, "BEN TENNYSON!"

All of Ben's other transformations were crowded around the area.

Ben yelled, "WHAT THE FLYING HELL DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!"

WayBig leaned in close and growled, "YOUR HOMEWORK."

Ben said in deadpan, "... What?"

….

Turns out Ben was sound asleep, in class at that moment.

Mr. Morton said, "that is, if you'd care to stay awake long enough to hand it in."

As everyone laughed, Ben woke up and fell over. Looking around, he grabbed the paper and handed it over.

Ben awkwardly said, "uh, here you go. Sorry."

Mr. Morton quickly grabbed the homework out of Ben's hands, but suddenly, the Omnitrix sparked and beeped like crazy! Everyone, including Ben and Mr. Morton recoiled and closed their eyes from this, as a pink and green energy came from the watch and engulfed the homework, making it vanish into thin air!

The beeping stopped as the teacher groaned, "turn off the alarm on your watch, Mister Tennyson. And…. Where did your homework go?"

Ben said, "I have no idea, it was right in your hand."

The teacher said in confusion, "just, uh, just redo the assignment by monday or you're getting an F."

Ben nodded quickly, not wanting to have his grades slip.

The entire class was too confused to laugh, when the bell soon rang.

The teacher told them as they began to flood out of the classroom, "and don't forget your history reports are due on Monday."

Ben went wide-eyed as he realized he had forgotten his history report! He looked through his folder to see if he had written anything down…. And it was mainly just drawings of his aliens combined with other assignments.

Ben sighed, "I'm doomed…."

….

Later….

Ben opened up his locker, whose walls were filled with various newspaper clippings about the alien adventures he went on and various other strange things in the world Ben lived in.

Ben looked at a picture of himself as Detro lifting up rubble off of some civilians.

He muttered, "wish saving the world was easier to do without school…. How could this get any worse?"

His question was answered as his locker was suddenly shut by Cash, who smirked smugly.

He said, "pretty tall order, Tennyson. Especially for a dork like you."

Ben groaned, "I had to ask…."

J.T popped up behind Cash and said, "let's see if he can fit into his locker before the weekend starts!"

Ben quickly pointed behind them and yelled, "what's that?!"

The bullies quickly turned around, giving Ben a chance to race off in the other direction.

Cash and J.T quickly turned around as the former yelled, "get back here, Tennyson!"

The two chased after Ben, who had just ran into the boys bathroom. A flash of green was seen peeking through the cracks of the doors a few moments later.

Cash and J.T got to the door and opened it up, revealing Heatblast, who glared at the now frightened bullies.

Heatblast yelled, "WHO WANTS A BARBEQUE?!"

The two boys screamed and ran away like cowards.

Heatblast chuckled and said, "and to think, I was gonna turn into FourArms if this thing didn't misdial again. Totally worth it-"

The sprinkler system suddenly turned on, raining down all over Heatblast as steam rose off of him.

He groaned, "damnit…."

….

Heatblast had sneaked back home via the woods, groaning, "why hasn't this thing timed out yet? The ONE time I want it too, and it doesn't. Smartest being in the galaxy my butt! Can't even fix his stupid glitchy watch!"

Heatblast used some flames to fly up to the window of his room and snuck inside. Just as he got inside, knocking was heard on his door.

His father Carl was yelling, "Benjamin! Come out here this instant, young man!"

Heatblast whispered, "sonnuva…. Watch, if you don't time out right now, I'm gonna have Azmuth turn you into a fire alarm!"

The familiar red light engulfed Heatblast, turning him back into Ben just as Carl and Sandra opened the door.

Ben said, "mom! Dad! Uh…. Hi? What're you doing here?"

Sandra said, "we live here."

Carl asked, "what's this we hear about you falling asleep in class?"

Ben said, "I had trouble sleeping last night. Got tired during class."

Carl said, "well, it better not happen again, or you're grounded."

Ben nodded, not wanting to miss his fishing trip with his Grandpa.

….

Later….

Max is driving along the highway in the Rustbucket.

Ben complained over the phone, "I'm stuck studying for stuff I'm never gonna use when I'm grown up, and my hero life is getting me in trouble for the dumbest things. I wish our road trip hadn't ended."

Xylene said as she was putting away some dishes, "summer can't last forever."

Max nodded, "everybody's gotta get off the road some time."

Ben sighed, "yeah, I know…. I'll talk to you guys later."

….

Ben disconnected the call and got back to work on his history report.

Ben muttered, "let's see…. First-person narrative in the perspective of a crew member during the age of exploration. Screw this, I'm gonna use Greymatter to figure this out."

As Ben reached for the watch, it suddenly shot out a bean of green and purple energy that made his laptop vanish out of thin air!

Ben exclaimed, "what the?! What is going on with you?! Ugh, I gotta figure this out."

That's when the unexpected happened. A blue crystal shard flew through his window and embedded itself into his wall!

Ben went wide-eyed and quickly looked out the window, seeing Tetrax descending on his hoverboard, unmasking in the process.

Ben asked, "Tetrax?"

Tetrax said, "Ben, we need to talk."

Ben groaned, "this can't be good…."

….

Ben and Tetrax flew through the sky with their hoverboards.

Tetrax explained, "I recently received an urgent message from Azmuth."

Ben asked, "what did the grumpy old toad want now?"

Tetrax explained, "he didn't say, but he needed to meet with you as soon as possible."

Ben said, "considering the last time me and my family worked with you and Azmuth, the universe was nearly blown to kingdom come, something must definitely be up."

The two of them flew into a dense forest, soon coming upon Tetrax's ship in a covered clearing.

The two landed as the doors to the ship opened.

Eight Eight and Technorg emerged from the ship.

Technorg exclaimed, "Buddy!"

Ben chuckled, "good to see ya, Technorg!"

Tetrax asked Eight Eight, "any sign of Azmuth?"

Eight Eight said, "no, not yet."

Tetrax said, "odd. He said he'd meet us at these coordinates."

Ben asked, "wait, Azmuth's coming here? I thought we were gonna go back to Xenon?"

The Omnitrix then sparked again for a few seconds.

Tetrax asked, "what's wrong? Is the Omnitrix malfunctioning again?"

Ben said, "I'm not sure. But we can't focus on that now. We gotta find Azmuth."

And with that, he jumped onto his hoverboard.

Tetrax called out, "Ben! Wait!"

Bt Ben took off, and eventually made it to a desolate road.

Ben said, "phew…. THAT was close."

This was right before the Omnitrix started to spark and glow again. Covering his eyes, Ben winced at the harshness of the glow as a truck was coming up the road.

The driver honked his horn before swerving around Ben, knocking the hoverboard from under his feet!

Ben exclaimed, "shit!"

The truck crashed into the trees while Ben crashed onto the road. He stood up, groaning lightly in pain before he ran over to the truck.

He called out, "hey, are you okay?"

He received no response from the truck, but heard a different sound.

The trees rustled as their branches were suddenly snapped off and fell to the ground.

Ben backed up as a rather large one flew through the air and landed right in front of him.

Ben quickly looked up and went wide-eyed at what he saw as the culprit.

A gigantic To'kustar with dark blue skin and glowing red eyes, emerging from the woods and glaring down at Ben.

Ben muttered, "oh…. Crap."
