The snowy peaks of Raven Point glisten under the midday sun as three dragon-rider pairs race down the mountainside. Hiccup and Toothless glide gracefully, Astrid and Stormfly dart playfully, and trailing close behind them is Starfire, riding her massive, fearsome dragon, Inferno. The black-scaled beast's fiery breath occasionally melts patches of snow, leaving steaming craters in his wake.

"Ya-ho!" Hiccup shouts, exhilarated by the speed of their descent.

"Haha, try to keep up!" Astrid calls out, her competitive streak shining through.

Starfire, her orange skin glowing against the snowy backdrop, laughs joyfully from her perch atop Inferno. "Oh, my friends, this is most exhilarating! I feel the rush of the wind, and it is glorious!"

Inferno lets out a deep, resonant roar, flapping his massive wings to keep pace. Despite his bulk, he moves with surprising agility, the glow of his fiery core leaving a faint trail of heat in the frigid air.

Astrid glances back at Hiccup with a mischievous grin, her competitive nature bubbling to the surface. She nudges Stormfly, who flicks her tail, sending a barrage of spines into the snow just ahead of Toothless and Hiccup.

"Whoa! Hey, Astrid!" Hiccup yells as Toothless twists and turns to avoid the spikes.

Astrid smirks. "Oops, my bad!"

Starfire gasps, her green eyes widening in concern. "Friend Astrid! Was that the act of intentional sabotage?"

Hiccup chuckles, shaking his head. "It's just Astrid being Astrid, Starfire."

Toothless huffs, clearly unamused, and flares his wing to block Astrid's view.

"Hey! Not fair!" Astrid yells, just as a low-hanging branch looms ahead. Stormfly barrels into it, sending snow cascading over Astrid.

Starfire slows Inferno slightly to glide beside Astrid as she dusts herself off. "Friend Astrid, are you unharmed? I shall instruct Inferno to incinerate the offending branch if it has caused you distress!"

Astrid laughs, waving her hand. "No need, Starfire. I'm fine."

Their laughter is cut short by a deafening crack and the ominous rumble of snow shifting above them.

The crisp mountain air was pierced by the roaring sound of an avalanche cascading down the slopes. The world seemed to shake as snow and ice rushed like a white river, consuming everything in its path. Hiccup frantically adjusted Toothless's saddle controls, but their ascent was hindered.

"Uh oh..." Hiccup muttered, panic creeping into his voice as he glanced back. His heart sank when he saw Toothless's prosthetic tail encased in a thick layer of frost, unable to open or close.

"His tail's frozen!" Hiccup shouted, his voice barely audible over the thundering avalanche.

Astrid, unaware of the impending danger, flew just ahead on Stormfly. She turned at Hiccup's call, her eyes widening in alarm as she spotted the snowstorm barreling down the mountainside.

"Hiccup!" she screamed, her voice laced with urgency. Stormfly's wings beat furiously as she reared upwards, gaining altitude to escape the oncoming disaster.

Hiccup, however, was in no position to follow. The frozen tail mechanism rendered Toothless unable to maneuver, and the pair skidded dangerously close to the edge of a steep trench. Hiccup, in a desperate bid to save them, scrambled down Toothless's tail, his fingers numbing as he tried to chip away at the ice.

Astrid hovered above them, her face pale with worry. "Hold on, Hiccup!" she called, urging Stormfly to descend toward him. She extended her hand, her determination to save her friend unwavering.

"Go back!" Hiccup yelled, shaking his head. "It's too dangerous!" Despite his words, he made no effort to retreat. Astrid's hand hovered inches away, their fingers almost brushing, when the avalanche overtook them, plunging all three—Hiccup, Toothless, and Astrid—into the trench.

Suddenly, the rumble of snow was joined by a fierce roar. From above, Starfire descended astride her dragon, Inferno. The massive black-scaled creature, Drogon by another name, let out an earth-shaking bellow, his fiery breath melting swathes of the snow in their path. Starfire, her long red hair flowing like a banner behind her, guided Inferno with effortless grace, her bright green eyes narrowing as she assessed the dire situation.

"Fear not, friends! I shall provide the assisting hand!" she exclaimed with a hopeful smile, her Tamaranian accent and enthusiasm cutting through the chaos. Inferno swooped low, his powerful wings kicking up a gust that momentarily held back the avalanche's relentless advance.

Hiccup looked up, relief washing over his face. "Starfire! You're a lifesaver!"

Astrid, though shaken, managed a weak grin. "Hurry! We don't have much time!"

Starfire leapt from Inferno's saddle, her glowing hands reaching out as she prepared to lift Hiccup and Toothless to safety. But before she could grab them, a large chunk of ice, carried by the avalanche, struck her shoulder. The impact sent her spiraling off-balance, and with a startled cry, she plummeted into the trench below.

"Starfire!" Hiccup and Astrid yelled in unison, their voices echoing in the canyon. Inferno roared in fury, his piercing cry vibrating through the mountain range. The mighty dragon dove after his fallen rider, his burning eyes locked on the trench below.

Starfire tumbled, her hands flaring briefly with green light before fading as she hit the snow-covered bottom. Dazed but conscious, she winced and tried to rise, her body aching from the impact.

"I... did not foresee the icy projectile," she muttered, her voice laced with frustration. "It appears I require the assistance now."

Above, the trench's steep walls loomed ominously, with Hiccup, Toothless, and Astrid rapidly descending after her. Inferno landed near Starfire with a heavy thud, his enormous wings folding protectively around her as he growled, his hot breath melting the snow beneath them.

《 ️ 》

The pitch-black silence at the bottom of the trench was broken only by the sound of Hiccup's teeth chattering. The snow around them muffled most of the avalanche's chaos, leaving an eerie stillness in its wake. His breath fogged the air as he rubbed his arms in a futile attempt to generate warmth.

A groan from nearby caught his attention. "Astrid?" Hiccup called, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Over here..." came her faint reply, shivering. "Hiccup, I'm freezing."

Almost on cue, the darkness was illuminated briefly by a small burst of fire from Toothless. The blue flames lit up the encasement of snow and ice surrounding them. Hiccup squinted against the light, relieved to see Toothless's large eyes glowing in the dimness.

"Toothless?" he asked, his voice soft but hopeful.

Stormfly joined in, shooting her own fire burst that slowly began to melt the snow around them. "Stormfly?" Astrid murmured, her voice tinged with both relief and concern.

The dragons worked tirelessly, melting layers of snow and ice with small bursts of flame, gradually creating a hole that allowed faint daylight to seep in. The dim light blanketed the scene, casting soft shadows on the snow-covered walls of the trench.

Hiccup stared in awe. "Whoa."

"Yeah..." Astrid agreed, her voice carrying the same mix of amazement and exhaustion.

Hiccup pointed to the faint opening above. "I see daylight!"

Toothless shot a more powerful fireball upward, breaking through another layer of ice, while Stormfly continued to melt away the edges around them. The narrow tunnel of light grew, and hope began to flicker in their hearts.

"We're gonna get out of here!" Astrid exclaimed, her voice firmer now.

It was only then they noticed the dragons had positioned themselves strategically, their wings spread wide to shield their riders from the falling snow, effectively forming a protective encasement. Hiccup and Astrid exchanged a look of astonishment as the realization sank in.

"Look what they did..." Hiccup murmured, his voice filled with gratitude.

"They saved our lives..." Astrid whispered, her tone soft with admiration.

Their gazes locked, and they suddenly became acutely aware of how close they were to one another. Their faces were only centimeters apart, their breath mingling in the cold air. Both froze, the moment thick with unspoken tension.

Quickly, they pulled away from each other, scooting to a more respectful distance and fidgeting nervously. Hiccup scratched the back of his neck, his cheeks flushed. "Uh, um...that was...so..."

Astrid cleared her throat multiple times, brushing stray strands of hair away from her face. "G-good as new..." she said, avoiding his gaze.

To break the awkwardness, she lightly punched his shoulder. "Ow!" Hiccup complained, though he couldn't help but smile back at her.

Before the moment could settle, Astrid remembered something, "Where's Starfire?"

Hiccup's eyes widen, both him and Astrid start calling out the girl's name, until they hear a moan. They crawled to the sound until they found Starfire leaning onto Inferno.

As Starfire tries to stand, her boots hit the icy ground, her leg buckled beneath her. She let out a pained cry, collapsing onto one knee.

"Starfire!" Hiccup scrambled toward her, concern etched across his face. "Are you okay?"

Starfire winced, her usual bright demeanor dimmed by pain. "It appears I have made the 'crash landing' most ungracefully. My leg—it has taken the damage." She tried to stand, but her left leg gave out, and she fell back into the snow. Inferno growled low, nudging her gently with his massive snout.

Astrid hurried over, her face pale and hands trembling from the cold. "You shouldn't move too much. You might have broken it."

Starfire nodded, biting her lip to keep from crying out. "I believe you are correct, friend Astrid. I am unfamiliar with this sensation, but it is...most unpleasant."

Hiccup and Astrid exchanged worried glances, their own shivering worsening as the cold seeped deeper into their bodies. Hiccup tried to focus. "We'll figure out a way to get out of here and get you help."

As if reading their distress, Starfire's expression softened despite her pain. "You are both trembling. The cold is unkind to your human forms." She gestured to herself with a reassuring smile. "I possess warmth that may assist. Come, friends, do not hesitate."

Hiccup blinked in confusion. "Wait, what?"

Starfire's emerald green eyes glimmered with sincerity as she opened her arms. "You may gather close to me. My Tamaranian physiology generates heat far greater than that of humans. Please, allow me to share it with you."

Astrid hesitated, her cheeks turning pink. "You mean…cuddle?"

"Yes!" Starfire replied brightly, as if it were the most natural solution in the world. "It is of no trouble."

Astrid exchanged another flustered glance with Hiccup, both of their faces burning brighter than Inferno's flames. "Uh…" Hiccup stammered. "Are you sure? I mean, we don't want to—uh—make you uncomfortable."

Starfire tilted her head in confusion. "Why would I be uncomfortable? You are my dear friends! The offering of warmth is a most simple act of care. Now, please, before the frostbite sets in."

Realizing there was no room to argue, Astrid reluctantly moved closer, sitting beside Starfire and trying her best to avoid eye contact. Hiccup followed, awkwardly settling on her other side. The warmth radiating from Starfire was almost immediate, and both of them let out involuntary sighs of relief.

"This…this is actually really nice," Astrid admitted, her voice softer now.

Hiccup nodded, though he still avoided looking at either of them. "Yeah. Warmth. Totally practical. Nothing weird about this at all."

Starfire beamed, her pain momentarily forgotten. "I am most pleased to assist in the warming of my friends!" She wrapped her arms around both of them, pulling them closer as though they were siblings needing comfort.

Inferno curled up protectively around the trio and their dragons, his large body creating a shield against the cold wind that occasionally swept through the trench.

For a while, the three of them sat there in the soft glow of the daylight creeping through the snow. Despite the dire situation, Hiccup and Astrid couldn't deny that the warmth of Starfire—and the genuine kindness behind her gesture—was enough to ease both the cold and their worries.

Astrid finally broke the silence, her voice laced with gratitude. "Thanks, Starfire. I don't think we'd have made it through this without you."

Starfire smiled gently. "It is my joy to be of service. Together, we shall rise from this icy prison and continue our adventures!"

Hiccup glanced at her injured leg and managed a weak smile. "But first, we'll get you out of here. You've already done enough for one day."

The trench's biting cold gradually faded as Starfire's natural warmth enveloped Hiccup and Astrid. Both sat huddled against her, their faces still slightly pink from the unorthodox proximity. Inferno's massive form loomed protectively around them, while Toothless and Stormfly kept watch nearby, their keen eyes scanning the dim surroundings for any sign of danger.

Once the group had sufficiently warmed up, Starfire gently nudged them. "Friends, I believe it is now the time to make the departing of this trench."

Hiccup nodded, his energy returning with the regained warmth. "You're right. We need to get back to Berk, and we need to get your leg checked out."

Astrid gave a determined nod, standing carefully and brushing off the snow clinging to her clothes. "How are we getting out of here, though? It's too steep to climb, and Starfire can't fly right now with her leg like that."

Starfire smiled despite the pain. "Fear not! Inferno is most capable. He shall ensure we all ascend from this icy imprisonment."

At her command, Inferno unfurled his massive wings, snow cascading off them as he let out a deep, rumbling growl of determination. Starfire turned her attention to Hiccup and Toothless. "Inferno shall assist in freeing your dragon, Hiccup of Berk. He is burdened by the snow."

Inferno lowered himself so Toothless could carefully climb onto his back. Toothless hesitated, but a reassuring nudge from Hiccup and a growl of encouragement from Inferno convinced him to comply. Once Toothless was secure, Inferno launched into the air with powerful beats of his wings. The trench walls seemed to blur as they ascended rapidly.

"Hang on!" Hiccup called, watching nervously as Inferno rose higher. Once they neared the edge of the trench, Starfire gave a sharp command: "Inferno, release the flames!"

Inferno obeyed instantly, tilting his head back and unleashing a precise burst of fire. The intense heat melted the snow encrusting Toothless's tail fin without damaging the prosthetic mechanism. Toothless flexed his wings, letting out a triumphant roar as he tested the mobility of his now-free tail.

"Good job, buddy!" Hiccup cheered from below as Inferno deposited Toothless safely on solid ground above.

Inferno didn't linger. With a powerful dive, he returned to the trench to retrieve his rider. Starfire winced as she adjusted her position, holding onto Inferno's saddle carefully to avoid aggravating her injured leg. "Now, my mighty Inferno, let us join our friends above!"

Inferno growled in acknowledgment and ascended once more, his wings slicing through the air with precision. Within moments, Starfire was safely delivered to the surface, where Astrid and Hiccup helped her down from the saddle. She leaned heavily on Hiccup for support, her usual radiant energy dimmed but still present.

"Thanks, Inferno," Astrid said, patting the dragon's snout. He let out a pleased rumble before stepping back to give Toothless and Stormfly space.

"We need to get back to Berk," Hiccup said, glancing at Starfire's injured leg. "Gothi will know what to do."

The journey back was swift, with Inferno carrying Starfire while Hiccup and Astrid rode their dragons. Upon arriving in Berk, Gothi quickly tended to Starfire's leg, confirming it was a bad sprain but nothing that couldn't heal with rest and proper care. Starfire thanked her new friends profusely, her gratitude as radiant as ever.

Later, Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, and Fishlegs sat atop one of the unused dragon watchtowers, sharing their harrowing tale. Behind them, Toothless and Stormfly were playfully tugging on Inferno's wings while Inferno ignored them, his orange-red eyes scanning the horizon as he radiated quiet strength. Starfire sat with her bandaged leg propped up on a wooden crate, her usual bright smile lighting up the scene.

Hiccup gestured animatedly as he recounted their survival. "And then the dragons used their wings to block the snow from burying us completely. They shielded us—even when they could've just flown away."

Fishlegs leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I've never heard of anything like that. Not even in the Book of Dragons!"

Astrid nodded in agreement, her expression thoughtful. "I know! It was incredible. It was as if their protective instincts just kicked in!"

Starfire clasped her hands together, her emerald eyes bright. "Indeed! Such noble acts from our mighty companions are most inspiring. Inferno, my dearest friend, has always shown the warmth of care. To see all your dragons displaying such loyalty brings me the great joy."

Fishlegs turned toward Inferno, his awe tinged with a bit of nervousness. "Yeah, Inferno's definitely...uh, impressive. He's like Toothless, but...scarier."

"And bigger," Snotlout added with a skeptical glance at the enormous black dragon. "Still, he's all right, I guess. Hookfang would've done it faster, though. Right, Hookfang?" He looked around and realized his dragon was nowhere in sight. "Hookfang?"

Astrid rolled her eyes, smirking. "Sure, Snotlout. Keep telling yourself that."

Fishlegs grinned, suddenly breaking into a teasing smile. "You know," he said, nudging Hiccup, "you and Astrid could've just used each other's body heat to stay warm."

The words hit like a boulder dropping into a lake. Hiccup and Astrid both froze, their faces turning scarlet in perfect unison. They immediately shuffled to opposite ends of the bench they were sharing, their words tumbling out in incoherent mumbles.

"Um…" Astrid began, her tone unconvincing.

"Who would do that?" Hiccup blurted awkwardly.

"That's crazy…" Astrid cut in, waving her hands as if to dismiss the idea. "Completely ridiculous. Who would even...that's crazy!"

Before the awkward tension could dissolve, Starfire clapped her hands, her voice chipper and oblivious. "But it is most curious! Did we not already share the cuddling for the warmth? My body generates the higher heat, and you both clung to me most adorably." She smiled at the memory, tilting her head as though it were a fond anecdote.

Hiccup and Astrid's jaws dropped simultaneously. They turned to Starfire, both now a deep shade of crimson.

"W-we did not cling—" Hiccup stammered, his hands flailing.

Astrid's voice rose an octave. "That's not how it happened!"

"But it is the truth!" Starfire continued, completely earnest. "Your shivering was most severe, and I offered my warmth freely. It was a most delightful bonding experience, yes?"

Snotlout burst out laughing, nearly falling backward. "Oh, this is gold! Hiccup, cuddling up to Starfire like a little baby. That's rich!"

Fishlegs snorted, trying to hide his laughter, while Ruffnut and Tuffnut—who had just arrived on the watchtower—joined in, adding exaggerated miming of Hiccup and Astrid cuddling.

Hiccup sighed, rubbing his temples. "Can we please move on?"

Starfire, meanwhile, remained blissfully oblivious, leaning down to pet Inferno's snout. "It is nothing to be embarrassed about, dear friends! The sharing of warmth is a most practical solution."

Snotlout grinned and leaned forward, arms outstretched dramatically. "Hey, Astrid. If you're still cold, you know where to find me." He puckered his lips, only for Astrid to glare at him.

Without a word, she struck the lever of the snow-filled catapult nearby, dumping its icy contents directly onto Snotlout's head.

"Hey!" Snotlout sputtered, flailing under the mound of snow.

Toothless looked up from where he was lying, chuffing with amusement as if he understood the situation perfectly. Stormfly followed suit, her chirping sounding suspiciously like laughter.

Finally, Ruffnut called up from the docks below. "Hiccup! Your dad's looking for you!"

Tuffnut added, "He looked angrier than usual, too."

Hiccup stood up, eager to escape the increasingly embarrassing conversation. "He's looked angry since the day I was born. But I'm sure there's no connection."

As Toothless crouched to let him climb on. Toothless took off, leaving the group laughing behind him—except for Astrid, who still glared daggers at Snotlout, her face as red as Starfire's hair.

The dawn light crept into the kill ring as the stormy seas beyond churned with restless energy. Hiccup wiped the sweat from his brow, frustration clear on his face. Astrid stood beside him, equally exasperated, while the yak they had been struggling to coax forward now stood obstinately at a distance, eyeing the dragons warily.

"Come on, big boy." Hiccup says, "You can' do it. Come on." Hiccup's pulling the yak by the horn and nose, panting and groaning with the effort, "You'll really like them if you get to know them."

Pushing from the back end of the yak, Astrid lends her own encouragement, "The dragons look scary but they're just big, scaly reptiles."

Standing on the sidelines, Tuffnut says, "Just like Snotlout."

His snicker is cut short when Snotlout grabs him by the shirt, lifts him in the air, and rears back a fist, ready to punch Tuffnut in the face. He pauses and looks Tuffnut up and down.

"You're the guy, right?"

"No!" Tuffnut says, his voice getting high.

The Nightmare and Nadder snap and screech at each other, each annoyed by the other's proximity. The yak Hiccup and Astrid had been coaxing is startled and runs off screen. Hiccup and Astrid are left with an air of defeat. Starfire observed the scene from her perch atop a wooden crate, her broken leg carefully elevated and wrapped with a makeshift splint. Despite her injury, she radiated an unyielding determination. Inferno loomed behind her, his piercing red eyes scanning the chaotic scene below.

Hiccup sighed, turning to the group. "This is hopeless. If we can't even get a yak to trust us, how are we supposed to prove to the villagers that dragons can coexist with livestock?"

Snotlout crossed his arms, leaning against the fence. "Maybe we need to show the yak who's boss. You know, scare it a little."

Fishlegs groaned, still recovering from his encounter with the Monstrous Nightmare. "Yeah, because scaring the yak is totally going to make it trust the dragons."

Starfire raised her hand gently, drawing their attention. "Perhaps I may be of the assistance?"

Hiccup looked up, brushing soot off his hands. "Uh, Starfire, I don't think the yak's going to listen to anyone at this point. It's completely spooked."

Astrid glanced at her, concerned. "Starfire, your leg is broken. You shouldn't even be walking."

Starfire's face brightened with her characteristic cheer. "Fear not, dear Astrid! My injury does not diminish my ability to communicate with the creatures of this realm." With some effort, she stood, leaning on Inferno for support.

Snotlout crossed his arms, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Ha! If she thinks talking to that stubborn thing is gonna work, then—" He stopped mid-sentence, his jaw dropping as the yak, which had been stubbornly rooted in place, suddenly turned its attention to Starfire. It blinked at her, its tense posture relaxing slightly as she approached.

"Great creature of the fields," Starfire began, her voice gentle but commanding, "I understand your fear. These dragons may appear fierce, but they hold no malice for you. They, like you, seek harmony and peace." She extended a hand toward the yak, her expression soft and serene. "Will you allow me to guide you? Together, we may bridge the gap of understanding.

The yak tilted its head, snorting softly. To everyone's amazement, it took a hesitant step forward, then another, until it was standing directly in front of Starfire.

Snotlout blinked in disbelief. "What the—? How is she doing that?"

Tuffnut elbowed him. "She's got the yak mojo."

Starfire turned and called softly, "Inferno, come to me, my loyal companion."

The massive dragon stepped forward, his movements fluid and deliberate. As Inferno approached, the yak stiffened, its eyes locked on the dragon's towering form. Smoke curled ominously from Inferno's nostrils, and he let out a low, rumbling growl. The yak froze for a moment, then let out a terrified bellow and bolted, its hooves kicking up dust as it fled the scene.

"Inferno! That was not nice!"Starfire exclaims, Inferno huffed, clearly unimpressed with the reaction. A plume of smoke escaped his nostrils, his expression one of mild irritation.

"Ha! Nice going, scary dragon!" Snotlout jeered, though he kept his distance from Inferno.

Starfire placed a reassuring hand on his snout. "Do not fret, Inferno. Your magnificence is simply overwhelming to some."

Hiccup ran a hand through his hair, torn between exasperation and awe. "Okay, well... that was something."

Astrid shook her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I guess we know who's in charge now."

Astrid, noticing Starfire's obvious limp, stepped forward. "Are you sure you should be walking around? Your leg—"

Starfire waved off her concern with a radiant smile. "It is but a minor hindrance. I have endured worse on the battlefield." She winced slightly as she shifted her weight but quickly masked it. "Though I admit, I may require assistance in ascending the stairs of great height."

Inferno huffed again, his expression seeming almost exasperated. He nudged her gently, careful not to unbalance her further.

"Okay, let's get her off her feet before Gothi yells at us," Hiccup said, nodding to Astrid.

Fishlegs, peeking out from behind Meatlug, muttered, "I think the yak might need a little therapy after that."

Starfire turned to the group, her smile as radiant as ever despite the pain she was clearly enduring. "Though the creature has departed in haste, perhaps we have learned an important lesson: trust is earned through patience and understanding."

Hiccup, feeling frustrated says, "Ooh-aaah-at this rate we'll never get any milk or eggs."

Inferno huffed again, his smoky exhalation making the others chuckle nervously. As Starfire settled back against the crate, Inferno curled protectively around her, his presence both fearsome and comforting. Even with her injury, Starfire had once again managed to inspire and astonish her companions.

The chaos in the Kill Ring was palpable. Chickens flapped wildly around Hiccup as he danced from foot to foot, trying in vain to corral the yaks darting in every direction. His face was a mix of exhaustion and desperation as he held onto what little composure he had left.

In the background, the other teens observed the spectacle with varying degrees of confusion and amusement. Astrid crossed her arms, looking torn between sympathy and exasperation, while Snotlout leaned lazily against the fence, a smug grin plastered across his face. The twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, exchanged bemused glances, occasionally whispering some mischief to each other. Fishlegs clung to Meatlug for dear life, his expression nervous as he eyed the chaos. Among them, Starfire's vibrant presence stood out.

The dragons, meanwhile, were utterly unfazed. Stormfly tilted her head curiously at the scurrying yaks, while Hookfang lazily flicked his tail, clearly bored. Toothless sat behind Hiccup, his gaze flicking between his rider and the pandemonium as if silently judging the entire situation.

Hiccup, still trying to impose some control over the situation, spoke with a bit of strained enthusiasm, hoping the lesson would somehow yield results.

"Another way for the animals to overcome their fear is to show them that dragons are afraid of things too," he said, holding up a basket containing a pair of squirming eels. He turned to the twins and Snotlout, who stood off to the side with skepticism etched on their faces. Fishlegs, always the nervous one, shifted uneasily, clearly not sure about this approach.

Astrid, always the voice of reason, turned to the group. "Remember Magnus the Merciless?" she began, raising an eyebrow. "He was a pretty scary guy."

Fishlegs visibly shuddered at the mention of Magnus's name. He had vivid memories of the Viking tyrant's wrath, and even the memory of him was enough to make him squirm. "Magnus still is terrifying, dark or no dark."

Astrid continued, a teasing smile playing on her lips. "I was afraid of him until I learned that he was afraid of the dark!"

Tuffnut, ever the performer, jumped in with exaggerated gestures. "So during the day: merciless!" He flung his arms wide, pretending to wield a sword as he struck a dramatic pose.

Ruffnut, not one to be outdone, grinned mischievously. "And during the night... Tuffnut!" she teased, mimicking her brother's gestures with equal flair.

Tuffnut elbowed her in response. "Hey! That's a real problem!" he grumbled, his cheeks flushing slightly.

Astrid rolled her eyes but kept her tone light. "Knowing he was afraid of something made him less scary to me. That's my point."

"Exactly!" Hiccup interjected, raising a basket triumphantly. "And to prove it, we'll show the yaks that even dragons have fears."

From the basket, he produced two wriggling eels. Immediately, the dragons reacted. Stormfly squawked and backed away, while Hookfang reared his head, letting out an irritated growl. Even Toothless, ever stoic, hissed softly and stepped back.

The yaks hesitated in their frantic pacing, pausing to observe the dragons' sudden change in behavior. Their wide eyes betrayed a flicker of curiosity.

Astrid grinned, her voice sing-song. "I think it's working!"

Encouraged, Hiccup shot her a relieved smile—only to lose his grip on one of the eels. The slippery creature wriggled free, slithering toward Hookfang. The Monstrous Nightmare let out a panicked roar and spun to flee, its tail accidentally swiping a sheep into the air. The poor animal bleated in terror before colliding with the wooden fence.

Hiccup groaned loudly, clutching his head in frustration. "Oh, come on! Why is nothing working?!"

Astrid, ever the steady presence, walked up beside him and placed a comforting hand on his back. "Don't worry," she said softly, trying to reassure him.

Hiccup's head snapped up, his eyes wide and jittery. "Worried?" he insisted "I-I'm not worried!", though his expression betrayed him. His voice cracked slightly, and the shaky grin on his face was less than convincing. "Do I look worried?" he asked, his tone desperate for reassurance.

Standing not far away, Starfire floated closer, her usual radiant cheerfulness undimmed by the surrounding chaos. Her large green eyes gleamed with curiosity as she watched Hiccup's dismay.

"Perhaps Inferno and I may assist in this endeavor! Dragons are rather skilled in the art of showing strength, but sometimes, we too are creatures of vulnerability."

Inferno snorted softly, his wings twitching as if agreeing with his rider. Starfire smiled at the dragon, her hands lifting in a gesture of understanding. "You see, even Inferno has fears. Would you like to learn from them, little sheep?" she said, her voice lighthearted and melodic.

Hiccup, trying to hold onto some semblance of control, watched as Starfire's words seemed to calm the frenzied atmosphere. It was clear that her gentle and confident demeanor had a calming influence, not only on Inferno but also on the rest of the group. Even the other dragons seemed intrigued by the idea of vulnerability, and the animals around them began to quiet, their fears slowly fading in the wake of Starfire's unique brand of reassurance. It lasted for a bit until one of the dragons tried to rough play with the sheep, which made them cry, which made all of the animals run around in fear. Starfire just stared and say, "Oh dear, this is tougher than it looks"

《 ️ 》

The chaos in the Kill Ring had reached its peak. Hiccup darted frantically after a flock of chickens, clutching two squawking birds under his arms, while Astrid wrestled with a restless Monstrous Nightmare. Around them, animals bolted in every direction, their panic exacerbated by the dragons' erratic movements. Inferno, Starfire's imposing dragon, stood near the edge of the ring, his eyes scanning the pandemonium with a mixture of boredom and disdain.

"Hey! Calm down!" Astrid shouted, shoving the Nightmare's snout back toward its designated spot. "Get back over here!". It snarled but grudgingly relented for the moment, its tail lashing in irritation.

Hiccup stumbled toward her, feathers sticking out of his hair. "You know what I'm learning from all this?" he panted, adjusting his grip on the wriggling chickens. "Chickens are really, well... chicken."

Nearby, Fishlegs, crouching beside Meatlug, raised a thoughtful finger. "What if we showed the animals how much they have in common with the dragons?" he suggested, his voice earnest.

Astrid and Hiccup stopped and stared at him, their confusion palpable. "They both lay eggs, right?" Fishlegs continued, undeterred. "A Terrible Terror laid one last week!" He bent down and produced a small, speckled egg from behind Meatlug, holding it aloft like a prize. He placed it on the ground carefully. Three chickens immediately noticed the egg and ran toward it, clucking excitedly. One even hopped up and settled onto it, as if claiming it as its own.

"See? An egg's an egg, right ladies?" Hiccup said, trying to sound encouraging.

But before anyone could celebrate, the egg began to tremble. Molten cracks raced along its surface, and an ominous hiss escaped from within. Without warning, the egg exploded in a burst of smoke and flame, sending the chickens flying and forcing Hiccup and Astrid to dive for cover.

"Until it explodes…" Hiccup muttered, his tone deadpan as he sat up, brushing bits of shell off his vest.

The explosion reignited the animals' panic, and once again, the Kill Ring descended into pandemonium. As Hiccup scrambled to his feet, Gobber and Mulch appeared at the entrance, their expressions grim.

"Everybody out!" Gobber bellowed, his voice cutting through the chaos. "The storm's here!"

Right on cue, snowflakes began to fall, soft and steady but unmistakably foreboding. The teens glanced up at the sky as the wind picked up, carrying with it the promise of a worsening storm.

"Wait, wait!" Hiccup protested, jogging toward Gobber. "We haven't made any progress with the animals yet!"

Gobber waved him off, already busy herding a group of sheep toward the exit. "Yeh can't get eggs from a frozen chicken, lad! Your father wants everyone in the Great Hall!"

"But they're still afraid!" Hiccup argued, his voice rising in desperation. "If we don't fix this, Berk won't have any food!"

Gobber, unimpressed, shot him a look. "And yeh won't be fixing anything if yeh freeze to death. Get inside!"

Starfire stepped forward, her glowing eyes fixed on Hiccup. "Hiccup, perhaps it is wise to heed the advice of the Gobber. The storm of snow is most unkind, and your creatures will fare better in warmth and safety." She placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch warm and reassuring. "You have done much this day, but even heroes must know when to rest."

Hiccup sighed, the weight of the situation pressing down on him. "Yeah, you're probably right. Let's get them out of here."

Reluctantly, Hiccup allowed himself to be ushered out, the others following closely behind. Starfire leaned on Inferno as they exited, her crutch crunching softly in the snow. Though the chaos wasn't fully resolved, a spark of hope lingered in the air.

The storm was merciless, its icy grip tightening with every passing moment. The barn, buried under snow and ice, was an impenetrable fortress of frost. Gobber stood at its entrance, shaking his head in frustration. "So much for the barn," he grumbled, kicking at the frozen ground.

Mulch, bundled tightly against the cold, gestured to the animals huddled together, shivering. "There's no other place to hold them!" he exclaimed. Around them, the dragons and teens stood in uneasy silence, their faces pale against the biting wind.

Hiccup's eyes scanned the bleak landscape, and then he spotted it—a beacon of hope amidst the chaos. He pointed off-screen. "The Great Hall!" he shouted over the howling wind.

Mulch frowned. "So, we're gonna have the dragons and the animals under the same roof? That's a disaster waiting to happen."

"We have no choice!" Hiccup snapped. "Let's go!"

With no further argument, the group began their treacherous journey through the storm. Snow whipped at their faces, and the howling wind made it nearly impossible to hear one another. The teens worked tirelessly to keep the animals from panicking around the dragons.

"Alright, keep 'em separate!" Mulch bellowed, his voice muffled by the storm.

Astrid darted after a stray sheep, blocking its path. "This way!" she urged, guiding it back toward the group. Fishlegs flailed his arms, trying to direct a flock of chickens. "Come on, come on! This way, guys!" he pleaded.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning split the sky, striking a nearby tree. The tree cracked in two, its massive trunk crashing to the ground in front of the Nadder. Startled, the Nadder lashed out, its tail spikes ejecting and striking the Nightmare across the face. The Nightmare roared in pain, its body igniting in a flash of flame.

The commotion sent the animals into a frenzy. Yaks and sheep scattered in every direction, their terrified bleats echoing through the storm. Snotlout planted his feet in the path of the charging yaks. "I got this under control!" he boasted, only to be promptly tossed into the air by a yak's powerful horns. He landed in the snow with a groan as more yaks trampled over him.

Elsewhere, Fishlegs spun in circles, overwhelmed by the chaos. He toppled over, his face landing in a snowbank as sheep and Ruffnut rushed past him. Ruffnut collided with a flying chicken, which clung to her face, flapping wildly. "Get it off! Get it off!" she screamed.

Hiccup dove for a fleeing sheep, but his hands closed around empty snow. The sheep disappeared into the blizzard, joining the rest of the animals now lost in the storm. He sat up, his breath visible in the freezing air, his face a mixture of frustration and determination.

He turned to Toothless, resolve hardening in his expression. "I'm going after them!" he declared.

Gobber grabbed his arm. "Forget it, Hiccup! We'll never get them rounded up in this storm!"

"With Toothless, I can!" Hiccup insisted, breaking free of Gobber's grip. "If I don't, we'll starve to death!"

"Hiccup, your father will kill me if I let you go!" Gobber yelled, but his protests fell on deaf ears. Hiccup leapt onto Toothless' saddle and took off into the swirling storm.

Gobber threw his hands into the air. "Hiccup! Come back here!"

Before he could react, Astrid was already mounting Stormfly. "Astrid!" Gobber shouted. "Not you too!" But she was gone in a flash, her Nadder's wings slicing through the blizzard.

One by one, the other teens followed suit, each taking off on their dragons despite Gobber's frantic protests. Starfire, though visibly trembling from the cold, limped toward Inferno with determined resolve. Her face was pale, and her hands shook as she tightened the straps on Inferno's saddle.

Gobber rushed to her side. "Lass, you're in no condition for this! Look at you—you're freezing!"

Starfire managed a small, strained smile, though her lips were tinged blue. "Dear Gobber," she said, her voice soft yet unwavering, "I must assist my friends. Though the cold is most unkind, my spirit remains strong."

As she climbed onto Inferno's back, her hands visibly shook, her breath coming in short puffs. Inferno, sensing her weakness, growled low and turned his head to nuzzle her arm protectively. She patted his neck, her voice gentle. "Fear not, my mighty Inferno. Together, we shall prevail."

With a powerful beat of his wings, Inferno launched into the storm, his fiery breath cutting through the cold like a beacon. Gobber stood alone, the storm whipping around him as he shouted into the empty air, "Get back here, all of you! Your fathers are going to have my head!"

But the teens were already gone, their figures vanishing into the swirling snow as they chased after their scattered herd—and their last hope for survival.

As the storm raged, the darkened woods were blanketed with snow, reducing visibility to nearly nothing. Among the fierce gusts of wind, Toothless and Hiccup glided through the icy night, their presence punctuated by the burst of a plasma shot. The bright light illuminated the snow-covered trees below, revealing the desperate scene of scattered animals and frantic riders.

Behind Toothless, Inferno cut through the air, his enormous wings keeping steady despite the biting wind. On his back, Starfire clung tightly, her fiery red hair whipping around her face. Her teeth chattered as she trembled violently, the freezing cold sapping her strength. "The weather is most unkind," she murmured, her voice weak yet resolute. She leaned forward to pat Inferno's neck. "But we must continue, my dear Inferno. The friends are in need of our aid."

Inferno responded with a deep, guttural roar, releasing a brief torrent of flame that momentarily pushed back the swirling snowflakes around them.

Hiccup's voice cut through the storm. "You find as many as you can! Herd them back to the Great Hall!"

Fishlegs, visibly shivering, raised a hand. "Can we swing by my house? I really need my heavy coat."

Tuffnut slapped himself across the face, laughing. "I'm so cold, I can't feel my face!"

Ruffnut, grinning mischievously, delivered her own slap to his cheek. "Did you feel that?"

"Nope!" Tuffnut replied cheerfully. "Takes all the fun out of it!"

The dragons and riders pushed forward, their efforts united. Below, among the clusters of snow-covered trees, animals were scattered, their frightened cries piercing the howling wind. Hiccup pointed. "There they are! Come on!"

Toothless dove toward the herd, the other dragons following in formation. Inferno let out a commanding roar, the sheer force of it corralling a group of sheep into a tight cluster. Starfire's voice, though trembling, was filled with determination. "Fear not, little ones! We shall guide you to safety!"

Fishlegs called out, "Yaks to the left!" while Snotlout, steering Hookfang in chaotic loops, yelled, "Chickens to the right!"

The storm worsened as the riders battled to herd the animals. Starfire's fingers were nearly numb as she directed Inferno. She noticed a small sheep slipping toward the edge of a cliff. "Inferno, quickly!" she cried.

Inferno swooped low, catching the sheep on his massive wing before gently lowering it to safety. Starfire cradled the trembling creature, her own shaking hands steadying it. "All is well, tiny one," she cooed, her breath visible in the frigid air. The sheep let out a small bleat before scurrying back to its flock.

The chaotic herding continued, with the riders struggling against the elements and the frightened animals. Hiccup and Astrid managed to wrangle a few more groups, but the biting cold began taking its toll on everyone. Starfire, despite her unyielding spirit, could barely keep her balance atop Inferno. Her body, unused to such bitter cold, was succumbing.

As the group reassembled near Stoick and Gobber, the storm reached its peak. The dragons landed one by one, their riders dismounting with visible relief.

Hiccup and Toothless landed first, soon followed by Astrid, Stormfly, and the others, their faces etched with worry and exhaustion.

Stoick's imposing figure emerged through the snow, his voice firm. "You shouldn't be out here, Hiccup."

Hiccup dismounted, his head hanging low. "Dad, I'm sorry I let you down," he said, his voice breaking.

Stoick's expression softened slightly. "It's not your fault, son. I'm taking you back."

Astrid dismounted from Stormfly and joined the group, shivering as she clutched her arms tightly. Gobber approached Stoick, scanning the whiteout conditions. "Which way?"

Stoick pointed in the direction they had come, but there were no tracks to follow—only snow and an impenetrable wall of trees. The storm had erased all traces of their path.

Gobber grumbled, "So much for that idea."

Fishlegs, trembling from the cold, stepped forward alongside Astrid. "Sir? What do we do now?"

Stoick's sharp eyes took in the group's worsening state. The teens were visibly freezing, their arms wrapped tightly around themselves as they shuddered against the cold. Gobber shot Stoick a look, the unspoken concern clear.

Starfire slid off Inferno, her legs buckling beneath her. Gobber rushed forward, catching her just before she hit the snow. "Lass, you're frozen solid!" he exclaimed.

Starfire gave him a faint smile, her words barely audible. "I… wish to be of help… to my friends…"

Her knees gave way completely as she fainted, her body collapsing into Gobber's arms. Hiccup and Stoick were at her side in moments, with Stoick barking orders. "Everyone, huddle together! She needs warmth now!"

The riders and dragons quickly formed a circle around Starfire. Stoick held her close, wrapping his thick cloak around her trembling frame. "Stay with us, lass," he urged softly.

Around them, their dragons stood quietly, observing the scene. Toothless glanced back at the group, then turned to the other dragons with a decisive snort.

Hiccup, tucked under Stoick's protective arm, noticed the dragons shifting into motion. "What are they doing?" he asked, his voice tinged with wonder.

The dragons formed their own circle around the humans, their massive wings unfurling to shield them from the brutal wind and snow.

"They're protecting us," Hiccup murmured.

Astrid nodded, her teeth chattering. "It's their natural instinct."

Inferno, sensing his rider's distress, spread his massive wings to shield the group and the dragons, from the unrelenting wind and snow. His body radiated heat as he curled protectively around them, his fiery breath warming the air within their makeshift shelter. One by one, the dragons began releasing bursts of flame into the center of the circle. The air around them grew noticeably warmer, the firelight casting a golden gloAs the storm raged on outside, the warmth of friendship, dragons, and unity triumphed, casting a beacon of light and hope in the heart of the frozen wilderness. With a celebratory shot of flame from Toothless, the snowy sky lit up in brilliant shades of bluew on their snow-dusted faces.

The warmth slowly returned, and the group found solace in the collective effort of humans and dragons alike. Starfire stirred weakly, her eyes fluttering open to see the concerned faces of her friends. "You are all most kind…" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Hiccup placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We're a team, Starfire. We look out for each other."

As the circle of warmth grew, the animals that had been herded earlier cautiously approached. Sheep, chickens, and yaks edged closer, seeking the life-giving heat. Toothless noticed a tiny, trembling sheep left behind and bounded toward it. The baby sheep cowered into the snow, but Toothless nudged it gently with his snout, offering a reassuring purr.

The little sheep hesitated, then followed Toothless back to the group. The other animals, seeing it was safe, began to gather as well. The baby sheep let out a small, grateful bleat, prompting its parents to join.

Toothless let out a soft chirp, and the other dragons joined in, creating a symphony of comforting sounds. Even Stoick, usually stern, allowed a rare smile as he looked at the group huddled together under Inferno's protective wings. "Your dragons are remarkable, son," he said quietly.

Hiccup nodded, his voice filled with gratitude. "Yeah, they are."

As the storm raged on outside, the warmth of their bond kept them safe, proving that even in the harshest of conditions, unity and compassion could triumph.

As the first rays of sunlight broke over the horizon, the North Sea glistened with the soft glow of morning. The storm had finally passed, leaving behind a hushed arctic fog that blanketed the landscape. The once-raging blizzard had given way to an eerie calm, the snow shimmering like a sea of diamonds beneath the pale light.

The dragons stirred first, shaking the layers of snow from their wings and letting out low, rumbling noises as they stretched. Inferno, Starfire's dragon, unfurled his massive black wings, their leathery expanse catching the morning light. Despite his imposing size and fearsome appearance, Inferno exuded a calm strength as he moved carefully, mindful of the extra weight on his back. Draped over his powerful frame were a few rescued animals—sheep and a small yak—secured with ropes to prevent them from sliding off during the flight back to Berk.

Starfire sat nearby, her usual vibrant energy somewhat subdued. The night had taken its toll on her, and her injured foot throbbed painfully beneath the makeshift bandage Hiccup had helped fashion. She leaned against Stormfly, who, despite her own sprained wing, crouched dutifully beside her. The dragon's eyes were soft with understanding, and she nuzzled Starfire's arm gently, as if to offer comfort.

"Such kindness you show, my dear Stormfly," Starfire said, her voice warm despite her exhaustion. "It seems you are not only the bravest of companions but also the most nurturing." She patted the dragon's scaled head affectionately, eliciting a pleased chirp.

Hiccup and Stoick stood a few paces away, watching the sun rise over the snow-laden forest. The golden light painted the horizon in soft hues, signaling not only the end of the storm but also the group's triumph over the harsh night. Stoick turned to his son, his proud expression illuminated by the dawn. He gave Hiccup a brief, approving nod—a rare and heartfelt gesture.

Hiccup's heart swelled with pride as he met his father's gaze, returning the nod with a hopeful smile. For once, he felt as though he had truly proven himself—not just as a rider but as a leader.

Behind them, the group began to stir. The Vikings and their dragons rose from their huddle, stretching stiff limbs and wings. Snow fell in heaps as dragons like Meatlug and Hookfang shook themselves awake, while Toothless stretched his sleek black form and yawned with a high-pitched squeal. The camaraderie that had seen them through the night lingered in the air, a bond strengthened by their shared ordeal.

The doors of the Great Hall swung open with a dramatic creak, revealing the bedraggled group of Vikings, their dragons, and a menagerie of farm animals. The warm glow of the fire pits illuminated their weary but victorious faces, a stark contrast to the storm-battered exterior. Inside, the room buzzed with the happy chatter of villagers gathered around the hearth, their conversations pausing as they turned to the newcomers.

"They're back! And they're alright!" Mulch exclaimed, his voice echoing off the walls. He hurried forward, his wooden leg thudding against the stone floor.

Bucket, as always a step behind, chimed in, "And the animals are alright too!" His voice carried a note of wonder, as though the safe return of both Vikings and livestock were nothing short of a miracle.

As Hookfang entered, the dragon let out a low, affectionate roar, lowering himself to allow the family of sheep riding on his back to climb down. The sheep, surprisingly at ease, trotted off with a series of thankful BAAAHs. Hookfang snorted in what could only be described as draconic satisfaction, gazing at the sheep with a tender expression that seemed out of place on such a fiery creature.

"Will you look at that," Mulch muttered, scratching his head as he watched the scene unfold.

Astrid's voice rang out from the entrance. "Hey, everyone!" she called, raising an arm and motioning to the others as they filed in. Hiccup appeared next, flanked by Stoick, with the last of the animals in tow. In one hand, Hiccup triumphantly held a chicken egg aloft, and under his other arm, a slightly disgruntled chicken flapped its wings.

"The chickens are laying eggs again!" Hiccup announced with a grin, his voice cutting through the din.

The crowd erupted in cheers, their joy filling the Great Hall. Even Bucket, wide-eyed and grinning, couldn't resist adding, "I was right. Chickens do lay eggs."

Among the group, Starfire entered with her usual regal yet cheerful demeanor. Supported by Astrid and leaning heavily on Stormfly for balance, she still managed to exude a vibrant presence. Inferno followed closely behind her, his massive frame drawing gasps from the villagers. Draped across his back were the smaller animals he had carried through the storm, including a pair of lambs and a basket of chickens.

"Fear not, kind friends," Starfire declared, her voice melodic and bright. "The beasts of the fields and skies are returned to you, unharmed and full of the joy!" She gestured toward the animals now mingling peacefully with the dragons. "And my dear Inferno has proven to be most steadfast and gentle, despite his most formidable appearance."

Inferno let out a low rumble, dipping his massive head as though to acknowledge the praise. The villagers, initially wary of his sheer size and the glow of his fiery eyes, began to relax. A small child darted forward to pat Inferno's scaled leg, prompting a low, soothing growl of approval from the dragon.

Stoick watched the harmonious scene with arms crossed, a rare smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "You've all done well," he said, his deep voice cutting through the noise. "This is what Berk stands for—strength in the face of storms and unity with our dragons."

Hiccup glanced at Starfire, who beamed at the words of praise. "You know," he said, leaning closer to her, "you and Inferno really saved the day back there."

Starfire tilted her head, her emerald eyes sparkling. "Oh, dear Hiccup, it is you and your friends who are the true saviors. Inferno and I simply lent our strength to the circle of triumph!"

Nearby, Astrid smirked, adjusting the straps on Stormfly's saddle. "I think she's saying you're not so bad after all, Hiccup."

"To be fair," Hiccup replied with a grin, "it's nice to hear it in such poetic terms."

As the dragons settled down, mingling with the animals in peaceful coexistence, the villagers broke into laughter and chatter once more. The Great Hall felt alive with hope and harmony, the trials of the storm now a memory shared by all.

Inferno, towering over the gathered crowd, let out a deep, resonant roar that filled the hall and seemed to echo the joy of the moment. Starfire placed a hand on his snout, her expression serene. "Yes, my friend," she murmured, her voice barely audible over the commotion. "This is the beauty of the home and the heart. It is most glorious."

The night had been long and treacherous, but their return was triumphant. In the unity of dragons, Vikings, and their new ally Starfire, Berk had weathered yet another storm, stronger and more connected than ever before.
