"Did you know?" was the first thing Sasuke asked once it was clear Sakura was gone. "Answer me, Hokage-sama,did you know?"
"Yes." said Tsunade before holding up a hand to stop the upcoming questions. "Let me explain first. When Sakura's body was brought to the morgue me and Shizune were the ones to do the autopsy. We noticed a number of inconsistencies such as a height difference and missing scars. Eventually we found surgical scars near the was obvious it was a body double. At the time we believed it to be Orochimaru's doing so I sent a team of ANBU to Oto. However recently I found out that that was not the case."
"What did you find out?" asked Ino.
"That Danzo was the one who abducted Sakura. He orchestrated her death in order to have her become a member of the ROOT."
"I thought ROOT was disbanded." said Guy.
"It was not, Danzo continued his operations in secret for all these years. During Sora's stay in the village, Danzo was detained for 24 hours due to suspicious behavior, this window of time allowed Sakura to gather as much evidence as she could on thatscumand bring it to me. For the past month, me and Shizune have been looking through it and devising a plan to bring him down. We have his schedule, the schedule of his guards and just a few minutes ago, Sakura brought me the layout of his base. Sheunfortunately had to return as to notarouse suspicion."
"So what does this all mean for us?" asked Chōji.
"Well, first of all Sasuke you are going to contact you brother. It seems I was given false intel, Hiruzen was not the one who ordered you brother to massacre your clan. It was Danzo."
"What." said Sasuke.
"He blackmailed Itachi with your death, he was forced to make an impossible choice between your life or that of your clan. My theory is that he refuses to return to the village because of Danzo."
"Oh my sage..." said in the room stared at Sasuke in shock, not knowing how to react.
"So what you are saying is...every misfortune that has befallen my clan is because of Danzo."
"Yes and I promise you, he will face justice. Now, there are two reasons I asked you here. The first is to make a plan of attack based off the information Sakura has gathered for us. The second one, well..." Tsunade rose toaddress them. "In two days I will meet with the jonin and ANBU commanders to tell them about Danzo and in 3 days our Konoha forces will gather in secret to attack the ROOT hideout. Officially I will ask them to bring Danzo in alive so he may stand trial because that is what is expected of , if any of the people in this room were to, have an accident so to speak, when they encounter Danzo and kill him, they will be free of any repercussions and at most will receive a verbal reprimand, understood?"
"Yes, Hokage-sama."
"Good, now I will tell you all the information Sakura has gathered on that scum and Sasuke? You might want to sit down."

Kakashi had been dead silent since leaving the compound. Some of the kids had been discussing in hushed whispers what was happening but Kakashi was dead silent. His mind was running at light speed screeching a chant ofSakura, Sakura, Sakura.He was basically walking home on auto-pilot.A hand landed on his shoulder and startled him.
"You good, Kakashi?" asked Guy. The silver haired man could only nod. "Let's get you home."
They entered the apartment and Guy led him to the couch before leaving to make some tea. Kakashi couldn't help but bring his gaze to a particular picture on his wall. It was one they took when Sakura had become Chū was the one and only time she wore her vest. Naruto and Sasuke were lifting her up and presenting her to the camera, Sakura was mid laugh with her mouth wide open and her eyes closed, Kakashi was behind them, with a hand on Sakura's head. She looked so happy and carefree in that picture, not at all like the hardened kunoichi they saw in the Senju light had been so dim in that moment.
He was interrupted from hismusings when a cup of tea was dropped on the coffee table. Kakashi turned his head to see Guy smiling awkwardly at him. "Hey there big guy, how we feeling?"
"Are we?"
"I feel like I should be asking you that." said Guy as he took a seat next to him on the couch. "What's going on in that head of yours, Kakashi?"
"She's alive..."

I should have known, I'm her sensei, that's my job.I know-" his voice broke "-I fuckingknow, I didn't do my job when she was a genin, I let my personal feelings get in the way of that but...but Isworeto myself I would never fail one of my comrades like that again and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!Danzo got his fucking dirty mitts on her and who knows what he did to her and what she has been forced to do just to survive! "Kakashi..." Guy pulled him in a hug. "Look I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and lie to you and say you did nothing wrong when it came to being a sensei, but...Danzo's actions arenotyour fault. Not even Tsunade, who knew her for longer than you, had caught on."
"But I knewDanzo, I knew how his mind worked and I know this is the exact type of shit he would pull. I should have at least checked or, or...done something!"
Guy sighed, he knew there was nothing he could do to convince Kakashi. Just like he blamed himself for the deaths of his father, Rin, Obito, Minato and Kushina, he will always blame himself for not catching on to Danzo's plan. All the taijutsu master could do was be there for him as he broke down.

Sasuke was a vortex of emotions when he got home. He was angry at Danzo, he was happy that Sakura was alive and he did not kill her after all,Sage thank you for this miracle, he was mad at Tsunade for not telling them Sakura was alive, he wasdisappointed in Itachi for not telling him the whole truth, he...he just didn't know what to he entered his apartment he threw off his shoes and kunai pouches and ran to his bedroom. He might not know what to feel but he did know to do. Taking a seat at his desk, he began writing.

How could you? How could you not tell me that Danzo was behind the Uchiha massacre? What possessed you to think keeping this from me was a good idea?Did you not think that it might be a good idea to warn me about the dangerous madman in our village?Or hell, fuck it, let's say you were worried I would be reckless and attack Danzo and get myself killed, for the faith, big brother. With the letter done, he woke up Benzaiten, tied the letter to her leg and sent her on her way. Then he collapsed on his bed and stared at the ceiling as if it held the answers to his plight. Sakura...was alive. All this time she had been hiding in plain sight and he had been visiting the grave of a random ROOT was alive...He missed her so much, all of Team 7 did. He was going to kill Danzo for taking her from them. How dare he, how dare he take the sky from once compared Sasuke to the moon, Naruto to the sun and Sakura as the sky, holding them in balance and Danzo took her from was going to die no matter what.
And, Sage, he was also responsible for the massacre too! All this time he had blamed a dead, maybe not completely innocent, man when the real monster was hiding amongst them in plain sight all mom, his dad, Shisui, everyone was dead because of him. All the suffering that had befallen Itachi was Danzo's fault.Hewas the reason Itachi couldn't return to the village,hewas the reason he was all alone in a hostile environment andhewas the reason Sasuke had been all alone until meeting Team 7. Naruto returned home in a somewhat somber mood, like was he happy Sakura was alive? Fuck yeah, this the best news he could ever receive! But, he was also worried about her, from what granny Tsunade had explained Sakura was in a difficult position. If Danzo finds out what she had done, he will surely kill her, and Naruto doubts they will get lucky a second time. He also feels a little guilty for blaming Sasuke all those years ago...
He takes off his shoes and Emperor runs up to greet him, he pets the dog.
"Empy you would notbelievethe day I just had, I wish I could tell you about it, but I was ordered to keep silent." The dog barks. "I know, I know, I promise to tell you once this is all over. Now let's get you some food, you must be hungry, I know I am."
The house was silent aside from their bustling in the kitchen, Karin was still in Kiri and was returning sometime next week. Naruto heated up some water for his ramen and put the dog food in Emperor's he began eating, Naruto started thinking about all that had transpired a few hours ago. They saw Sakura-chan again, something he thought would be impossible outside of pictures. She looked really rough though, Tsunade told them the ROOT agents are held in quite inhuman conditions. He wonders what she had been through all this time.
He's so worried about her what if she gets CCDS or any other insane disease from overworking herself? What if Danzo catches on? What if they fail to bring Danzo in and he whisks her away from Konoha?What if Sakura gets killed in the battle to bring Danzo in? There are so many things that could go wrong and Naruto tries to stay positive but this is their one and only change to bring Sakura home and hecannotfuck this up. Sheneedsto come back. Naruto doesn't know how much longer he can put up with Sai.
Emperor walks over to him after eating and puts his head in his lap. His tail wags and that simple grounding motion makes Naruto break down. He falls down to the floor and hugs the dog close, burying his head in soft fur as tears fall down. He has so many feelings cursing through him that he doesn't know what to do with. The dog whines.

Yamato had no idea what to feel about what he just heard in the Senju compound. When Tsunade asked him and Minato's previous guards to gather the teams to the compound, he thought it was to discuss the Akatsuki or disclose to them some other classified never imagined he would bear witness to the beginning of Danzo's it was all because of one person, Sakura Haruno.
Yamato never met her. He heard stories about her from Kakashi-senpai when she was still a genin and a few stories from Naruto and Sasuke when he forced them and Sai into mandatory knew her favourite foods and favourite movie, he knew her skill set as a genin, her old address and quote"How her eyes would light up like a mad scientist when discussing poison."But he never imagined that she would be the one to bring Danzo one, she was supposed to be dead, and two, Danzo always seemed like such an unbeatable you are in ROOT he made you feel like you can never escape him, he seemed to have eyes and ears everywhere, your every move was catalogued and he seemed to have always known what you were think that he was about to finally lose it all...
But Yamato is getting ahead of himself, for now Danzo was still a threat and until he was brought in, he will vigilant. He refuses to let him win after all he had done.

Sakura was waiting. Sakura was in the ROOT hideout, hiding in the vents waiting, no bear mask on her face, signaling her freedom. It seems that for the past month, all she has been doing is wait. Wait for Tsunade to finish sorting through the mountains of evidence, wait for them to assemble their forces, wait for the day Konoha will attack Danzo and now, wait for the told her the plan, they will have a few Yamanaka-Nara-Akimichi teams use the Human Bullet Yo-Yo technique to break down the defenses and bring their forces in. While Konoha gets inside, her job is to escort the kids and babies in ROOT out and thenrendezvous with Naruto and felt worried about Sai however, so she asked Tsunade to detain him a few hours before the attack. Sai was currently unconscious in a T cell, having no idea his life was about to change.
Now every move that she makes is a bid to survive, keep herself alive. The hideout shook, signaling the beginning of the attack, while the guards below were distracted, Sakura opened the vent and swung, in order to kick the two ROOT guards into the wall. They both fell unconscious, but for good measure, she threw twoparalytic senbon at them to make sure, should they wake up, they couldn't move for the next 24 she pulled out her sai and when she entered the nursery, immediately killed the ROOT agent inside.
Since Tsunade had become Hokage, Danzo was unable to steal as many babies as before to raise them into his little perfect soldiers from birth, so now there were 2 infants and one underdeveloped toddler whocouldn't speak even though he should have been able to, waiting for her. She picked the toddler up and tied him to her back with a blanket, then took the small babies as well.
Thankfully due to the commotion, when Sakura went to free the ROOT recruits, she found the hallway their room she found four 12 year olds, one 10 year old, three 9 year olds, two 8 year olds, one 6 year old and five 5 year olds, a total of 16 children, all who have been kidnapped for Danzo, about 2 months ago.
"Bear? Is that you?"
"It is, here, help me out, we're doing a jailbreak."She passed the babies to some of the 12 year olds, but kept the toddler on her back.
"What? We can't!" said one of the younger kids.
"Is Danzo under attack?" asked one of the oldest.
"He is, Konoha forces are here to arrest him, so now is our chance to escape and get to safety, but we have to hurry. Come on."
Sakura led the kids through the labyrinth that was the ROOT hideout, she needed to find someone who would recognize her and ran into a few ROOT agents here and there, but Sakura killed them quickly. Theytrekked on until finally, she found someone she could trust.

Kakashi and Guy have been fighting back to back against the ROOT agents. They got separated from their teams a while back and were now on their own. These fights were a lot harder, as the ROOT agents would get back up regardless of how many bones they broke or how much they bled. They refused to stop no matter Sharingan was working on overdrive, predicting their next move or putting them in genjutsu. Tsunade wanted them to bring in as many alive as they could, but damn was it with a Lizard mask was about to take a shot at Guy when a rock bullet pierced his skull and killed him. Kakashi turned around and saw Sakura followed by 16 children. He half registered Guy taking down the last ROOT member but he ignored him in favor of focusing on his student.
"Kakashi-sensei!" and Sage above, did hearing these words make him happy. Sakura ran at him and he was half expecting her to hug him, but instead she shoved a toddler in his arms. "Here, take him."
"Wha-"
"These are Airi, Haru, Kayama, Kyo, Danuja, Umeko, Hiroto, Kame, Nao, Youta, Yoko, Tomoya, Asa, Shouta, Megumi and Hinano-"
"You know our names?!" exclaimed one of the kids.
"Of course I do." Sakura answered without skipping a beat, before returning to explaining. "These are kids Danzo kidnapped around two months ago to add to his army, you need to get them out and somewhere safe."
"I-"
"Of course, Sakura-chan!" said Guy. "You can count on us."
"Thank you, where are Naruto and Sasuke?"
Kakashi answered. "They went after Danzo-"
"Of course they did, what else would they be doing?" with that, Sakura began to walk away in search of her boys.
"Wait, Sakura!" shouted Kakashi. "It's good to see you, kid."
Sakura smiled at him. "It's good to see you too, sensei."

Naruto and Sasuke found themselves in a forest, fighting against the hideout was attacked, the coward took his 2 most loyal guards, Horse and Wolf, and fled, leaving the rest of his forces to deal with Konoha. Danzo's plan was to run away and regroup with the few ROOT members that were out of the didn't get very far as once he reached the forest, his guards were surrounded by black flames. Sasuke refused to give Danzo any chance of getting any the guards died, Naruto and Sasuke showed themselves. Naruto, ever the bleeding heart, tried asking him why he was doing all of this, but Sasuke did not care for what bullshit Danzo had to spew. He went at him with the Raijin no Ken raised high and began attacking.
The two of them fought against Danzo on somewhat even footing until the old man had gotten sick of them and revealed his Sharingan riddled arm. Sure they knew about it, but the sight of it was something else was when the fight had gotten a lot harder, as Danzo used his arm to evade most of the attacks. Not to mention, any genjutsu Sasuke might have thrown at him was basically were currently in a stalemate, with every attack Danzo threw at them getting repelled and any attack they threw at him getting was about to throw another Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere and throw more air projectiles at them when the roots of the surrounding trees rose up and began binding him.
"I thought you said the reverse engineering process of Mokuton was a failure." said Danzo.
"I lied,bitch!" said Sakura. Her hands were in the dirt, channeling her chakra through the underground and moving the plant life to her wishes. She slammed Danzo in the dirt, once, twice, before the old man finally used kawarimi and freed himself.
"Sakura!" "Sakura-chan!"
Sakura ran up to Naruto and Sasuke to join them, the three of them took a fighting stance as Danzo approached them.
"So...I see Hatake's little worms are back together again. I have to admit, you really weren't worth the trouble, Bear. I am going toenjoykilling you and your team."
Danzo started the attack by sprouting branches from his arm that he sent straight at them but Sakura was able to gain control of them and curl them away and around them. Sasuke and Naruto jumped on them and used the wood as platforms to reach Danzo. As he was about to be speared by a Rasengan and a Chidori, he detached himself from the branches and jumped then used a jutsu she had created herself, Earth Release: Prism Soul Volley, her chakra would gather the carbon atoms in the surrounding area and compress them into diamonds that she then hurled at of them managed to cut his cheek but his annoying Hashirama cell arm healed it quickly.
Naruto created a bunch of clones that all tried to jump the elder, but he dispelled them all and he even saw through Sasuke's attempt at camouflaging with the clones with the transformation used the distraction to bring the fight to close quarters, she used the surrounding trees as a springboard and jumped at Danzo with her foot raised. He jumped away at the last second, but it did him no good as the earth exploded from the force of her kick. A large chunk of rock speared him in the middle and nearlybisected him. The fight should have been over, but Danzo simply appeared a few steps away,completely unharmed.
"Kawarimi? But how-" asked Sakura.
"No, it's not." said Sasuke. "It's Izanagi, Itachi told me about it. It allows the user to seize control of the space between reality and illusion. Danzo used it to heal himself."
"What?!" exclaimed Naruto. "Does that mean he can just never die?!"
"No, look at his arm, one of his Sharingans is blinded."
"He has at least 10 of them, if we blind them all-" started Sakura.
"Then we can finally kick his ass, let's do this." said Naruto.
"Your naivety is amusing." said Danzo.
The fight began again, as they all tried to take Danzo down, Sakura however had another goal. In Danzo's face laid his trump card, Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan, more specifically, the Kotoamatsukami. Sakura knows that once he runs out of Sharingans he will attempt to use it on one of them and she cannot allow that to happen. Once he runs out of Sharingan, she plans to destroy it before he can use it as a last she knows Danzo, and the man is as cocky as he is smart, he will not waste what he considers to be his ultimate technique onwormssuch as them unless he has no other sent the Great Fireball Technique at Danzo as Sakura created vines to hold him down but this time he actually used kawarimi rather than Izanagi. Naruto however was waiting for him in the trees and 8 clones armed with Rasengan jumped on him. He used Izanagi, two down, eight more to go.
Danzo decided on another strategy, he grew a bunch of roots and send them in all directions, destroying even more of the forest and throwing Team 7 away. While mid air, Sakura yelled for Naruto as she began molding chakra. A torrent of water spewed from her mouth, the blonde, understanding her idea, sent a wave of wind at combined and created hundreds of ice spikes that fell on Danzo and impaled him. Seven.
As they landed, Sasuke saw an opening and as soon as Danzo reappeared, he set him on fire using Amaterasu. Six.
With an enraged yell, Danzo used Kuchiyose no Jutsu and summoned Baku, a gigantic elephantine chimera. The summon opened it's mouth and began sucking in the surrounding area. As Team 7 held onto whatever they could to not get sucked in, all three summoned their own animals. The Three-Way Deadlock was on the for Naruto, Aoda for Sasuke and Lady Katsuyu for a hiss, Aoda slammed his tail into the Baku's jaw, closing it shut as Gamabunta jumped with his sword raised. The large chimera barely dodged, only to get sprayed with acid by Katsuyu.
As thesummonings battled, Team 7 went after shot a few more wind jutsus at them as Sakura used Mud Wall to block it, Sasuke and Naruto jumped above the wall and combined Katon: Gōryūka no Jutsu and Fūton: Toppa to create a devastating scorch release attack. To ensure that Danzo couldn't dodge, Sakura slammed her fist into the wall and sent it straight at him. As the attack hit, Danzo had his entire blood evaporate from his body. But of course, Izanagi saved him. Five.
A bunch of Naruto clones surrounded Danzo and began fighting him in close quarters as Sakura and Sasuke prepared a trap. While Danzo was busy cutting through 60 clones, Sakura softened the earth under Danzo using Mud Release. By the time the old man realized what was happening, he was nearly ankle deep in the ground as Sakura threw a large chunk of earth in the air that Sasuke melted down to lava with a fire release jutsu. Danzo could do nothing but watch as he was burned alive once again. Four.
Sakura hid underground as Naruto and Sasuke were locked in a taijutsu battle against Danzo. A lucky shot allowed Sasuke to behead him, bringing him down to three and as he reemerged a few steps away, Sakura burst from the ground and sucker punched him in the jaw. Two.
While Sasuke knew it wouldn't fool him for long, he decided to use one of Itachi's signature genjutsus. Team 7 turned into crows that surrounded Danzo before forming into Itachi behind elder faltered at the sight of the Uchiha missing nin and it allowed Sakura to whip him with a root straight into the path of the fighting summons. He got killed by his own summoning animal stepping on him. And, as a bonus, once he reemerged, Katsuyuimmediately shot acid at the elder, finally blinding his last Sharingan as Izanagi was used for the last time.
The summoning animals returned to their realms as the Baku was finally defeated, now it was just Team 7 vs Danzo, no more tricks, no more cheating death, this was the final battle. Danzo began clapping.
"I have to say, I am impressed. I did not think you were capable of such feats, though I suppose, even though it may take a million years, when a bird chips away at a mountain and keeps chipping away, the mountain will eventually , you are a million years too early to take this mountain down." said Danzo as he began uncovering his eye. However, before he could even think about using Kotoamatsukami a lime green and cream colored peacock speed blitz him and stole his Mangekyō.
"Nice one, Watacco!" exclaimed Sakura.
"It was my pleasure, Sakura-san." said the peacock as it crushed the eye in it's talons. The summoning animal poofed away.
"When you sent me to the Senju compound two years ago to steal scrolls for you, I came across the summoning contract for the peacocks and signed it. They have been sneaking around your base for years stealing and gathering evidence for me. You crafted your downfall with your own two hands, Danzo." said Sakura.
Danzo let out an enraged scream as he slammed his hands in the dirt and used whatever he had left of his chakra to create Mokuton: Kajukai Kōrin. A technique where a dense forest of flowering trees grew quickly. As Danzo was low on chakra, only 5 trees grew but 5 was pollen released by the flowers not only impaired vision but was highly poisonous. One inhale and you died on the spot. Seeing this, Sakura created an earth pillar and lifted the three of them high above it.
"What the hell is that?" asked Naruto.
"Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees, it releases a pollen that is highly toxic." said Sakura.
"Wouldn't that affect Danzo too?" asked Sasuke.
"No, he can control the pollen to go in any direction he wants, including away from him. And don't even think about burning it Sasuke, it will just release more pollen."
"What do we do then?" asked Naruto.

Danzo laughed as he stood between the trees, there was no way these 3 could get to him now, not unless they wished to die a miserable death. All he had to do was wait for an opening and then flee from Hi no Kuni. Once he manages to rebuild the ROOT someplace else, he can return to Konoha and take it by force.A rustle alerted him that someone was behind him and Danzo barely had time to dodge a hundred Chidori Senbon. Then from the right Naruto holding a Rasenshuriken almost ripped him in half. Diamonds came at him from behind and he had to crouch around he saw the members of Team 7 surrounded him from all sides. A piece of cloth was wrapped around their mouth and on it was a blooming white flower releasing its own annoying Kunoichi figured out the antidote to the pollen and used a weaker version of his jutsu to create a mask that released it. All three were basically immune, and due to the low visibility, it was Danzo who was at adisadvantage now.
They all came at him at the same time, Danzo used chakra nagashi to apply wind chakra to his kunai and make it longer. He used it to block Sasuke's strike with the Raijin no Ken. He jumped away from the two Naruto clones coming at him with Rasengans and earned himself a cut across the bridge of his nose when he tried evading kept him on the defensive as she jabbed at him with her sai over and over, she led him straight to Naruto who kicked him in the head towards Sasuke. He rolled away from the incoming strike and used Wind Release: Vacuum Blade on his shuriken to give them more range as he hurled them all dodged as Sakura used Doton: Tōjinbō, an earth formation full of spikes appeared out of the ground, impaling Danzo in the arm. He cut off the Hashirama cell arm before using the Hiding Like a Mole Technique and dove underground. Four Naruto clones jumped at him, but were too slow and barely missed him as he burrowed in the ground.
"Where is he?" asked Sakura. Sasuke kept scanning with his Sharingan but couldn't see Danzo anywhere.
Suddenly, a hole opened up behind Naruto and Danzo emerged. He grabbed the blonde and put a kunai at his throat. "If you don't want the Jinchūriki to die here, I suggest you let me leave, I shall release him once I reach the border to Oto no Kuni."
"As if we trust you to that." said Sasuke, holding his sword in front of him, behind Danzo, Sakura wastensely holding onto her sai, looking for an opening.
Naruto however grinned at them. "Red Flag."
Sakura and Sasuke's eyes widened. Red flag was a code they came up with a little before the chunin exams, it signified that the enemy was holding a clone and that they could two bloodthirsty grins, Sakura and Sasuke went after Danzo. Before Danzo could do anything, Sakura cut off his head, while Sasuke cut open his stomach. Just like that, the clone poofed and the rot was cut down from ran at them to celebrate when seals appeared all over Danzo's corpse.
Sakura gasped. "It's Ura Shishō Fūin, it eradicates everything within 10 meters of it. We have to get away!"
Sasuke immediately activated his Susanoo and grabbed Naruto and Sakura with it's large hands, then he jumped out of range and brought his teammates inside the spewed out of the corpse that turned into a sphere and destroyed everything, including the poisonous forest Danzo created. With that, Danzo was gone. The Susanoo faded and Team 7 ripped away their masks as they looked at the crater left behind.
"It's over..." said Sakura, breathless. "After all this time, it's finally over...I...I...I'm free." she fell to her knees and began sobbing. "I'm free!"Naruto and Sasuke joined her on the ground and hugged. Naruto was sobbing up a storm, chantingSakura-chan, Sakura-chan, Sakura-chan, as he he hugged her. Sasuke had hidden his face in her shoulder, but he also wasn't fairing any better judging by his shaking shoulders and the wet patch on her clothes. Sakura just brought her arms around them and brought them closer, clawing at their clothes as if she was scared that should she let go, they will be gone.
They remained in the position, hugging and sobbing until Tsunade and the rest of the Konoha forces stumbled across them after all the ROOT agents had been caught.
