Anastasia Part 9
Now Rena/Ruby will remember her past and reunite with her grandma, but not without some obstacles at first.

"Okay everyone, time for the reunion, but first obstacles", Hakaze said what's coming now.
We are at the Vale opera house during the night. As the BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE OF Vale arrive, a very dapper Peter paces nervously on the steps. Oscar also all done up, sits nearby.
"We don't have anything to be nervous about. She's the princess…" Oscar said to Peter who still misunderstands what Oscar is saying.
"I know, I know but…."
"No, no, no you don't know. I was the boy - in the palace. The one who opened the wall. She's the real thing, Peter." Oscar interrupts and speaks his point, Peter's jaw drops open, he can't believe it.
"That means our Rena has found her family! We have found the heir to the Royal throne! And you…" Peter stops. He suddenly gets it.
"Will walk out of her life forever." Oscar said what they will do next after Rena/Ruby finally reunites with her grandma.
"But…" Peter protest but Oscar says this to him
"Princess' don't marry kitchen boys." Oscar said which shocks and surprises the audiences on why he didn't press further when he and Rena/Ruby where going to kiss back at the ship.
"I know but… Oscar." Peter tries to protest again.
"We're going to go through with this as if nothing has changed." Oscar said they will keep on doing what they are doing like nothing has ever change.
"You've got to tell her?" Peter says that Oscar should tell Rena what he knows.
"So that's why Oscar didn't press forward into kissing Ruby, because since he knows that she's a Royal Princess and he's just servant boy, he cannot fall on love with Ruby despite his feelings for her", Yang commented.
"But that's not gonna matter will it?" Pyrrha ask Hakaze about that.
"Yeah, in the end that's not going matter, Oscar and Ruby will become lovers in the end", Hakaze reveals.
"Oh my Ruby", Summer likes where this is going while glaring at Tai and Qrow again for being overprotective.
"Tell me what?" Oscar turns and Rena is suddenly there.
"How beautiful you look." Oscar lies using the compliment.
"Well, thank you." Rena smiles sweetly and looks down. Rena takes his arm and they walk up the stairs together and then Sophie gets Peter's attention.
"She does look beautiful", Oscar commented while feeling red.
"Why thank you Oscar", Ruby said while feeling red too.
"Ah, Sophie."
Inside the Vale Opera house, Rena is halfway up the grand staircase, when Oscar finishing checking their coats and looks up at her. He stares. She turns back and nods for him to join her. Shaking the spell her beauty has cast over him, he leaps to her side. Next we go to the opera box, Oscar, Peter and Rena take their seats. All around them people are whispering, taken with Rena. Oscar turns to Rena and gestures to the box seats to the left. He hands her the opera glasses.
"Oh wow, it would be nice to see an opera like that", Pyrrha said liking the scene.
"Yeah Pyrrha", Jaune said holding her hand.
"Look. There she is." Oscar said and Rena gives him a very nervous look and takes the glasses aiming them toward Maria.
Rena's POV of the majestic Maria, sitting beside Sophie.
"Please let her remember me…" Rena said like a prayer, she is very nervous, she watches Maria instead of the Ballet. She tears up her program. Oscar reaches over and takes her hand.
"Everything's gonna be fine." Oscar assures her, intermission. The lights come up, Oscar turns to Rena.
"Come on. I guess it's time. Relax you're gonna be great." Oscar said to Rena in a bittersweet, but Rena goes to turn away.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey take a deep breath everything's gonna be fine." Oscar said to him.
Minutes later, they approach Maria's private balcony.
"Okay here goes nothing", Ruby said.
"But there will be problems at first", Hakaze said to her.
"Wait here just a moment. I'll go in and announce you properly." Oscar said but Rena stops him.
"Oscar."
"Yes?"
"Look, we've been through a lot together…" Rena tells him all that.
"Uh-huh."
"… and I just wanted to…"
"Yes?"
"…well, thank you I guess. Yes, thank you for everything." Not sure if that's what Rena really wanted to say and Oscar takes his leave, then turns back.
"Rena, I…" Now Oscar has something to say.
"Yes?"
"I'm... I... Um..." Hesitating or unable to bring self to say it.
"Yes?"
"I wanted to wish you good luck… Well… here goes." Still not sure if that's what Oscar's answer as he smiles sadly and walks into the private balcony.
"For goodness sake you two", Weiss scolds them both for not saying what they need to say.
"Weiss, sometimes people couldn't bring themselves to say what they need to say", Winter tells her about.
"Besides, Oscar already knows that Rena is really Ruby Rose", Blake tells her next.
In the private balcony, Oscar approaches Sophie.
"Please inform her majesty, The Dowager Empress, that I have found her granddaughter…" Oscar tells Sophie while Rena listening to Oscar from the other side of the door, near bursting.
" … the Grand Duchess Ruby Rose. She's waiting to see her just outside the door." Oscar says as we cut to through the private balcony.
"I'm very sorry young man but the Dowager Empress, she will see no one." Sophie said to him, but overhearing this, Maria turns around and faces Oscar. Rage burns in her face.
"You may tell that impertinent young man that I have seen enough Grand Duchess Ruby Roses to last me a lifetime." Maria said to Oscar, Sophie has second thoughts and wants Oscar to leave.
"Um, you better go." Sophie tells him to leave now.
"Please, let me just…" Oscar tries to get Maria to hear him out.
"Now if you'll excuse me I wish to live the remainder of my lonely life in peace." Maria isn't going to listen.
"Come, I'll see you to the door. Come, come now, come to the door." Sophie trying to get Oscar to leave and she closes the curtain that accesses Maria, but Oscar ducks through it and sits himself down in a chair NEXT TO THE DOWANGER.
"That's barging in but she needs to know", James said because Maria really needs to hear Oscar out.
"Your majesty, I intend you no harm. My name is Oscar Pine… I used to work at the palace." Oscar introduce himself and says that he used to work at the royal palace.
"Well, that's one I haven't heard, I must say." Maria said and she rises to go.
"Wait, don't go please if you'll just hear me out." Oscar stops her again so she can hear him out.
"I know what you're after. I've seen it before! Men who train young women in the royal ways." Maria knows what Oscar originally planned as she pulls on a velvet rope summoning the guards.
"But if your highness will… just listen." Oscar tries to tell her but she interrupts.
"Haven't you been listening? I've had enough. I don't care how much you have fashioned this girl to look like her, sound like her or act like her. In the end, it never is her!" Maria really said this so loud, Rena heard it all and can't believe what she is hearing.
"Oh not good!" Jaune said knowing Ruby/Rena is going to be mad at Oscar for this.
"Ruby is going to be mad at Oscar thinking she got used for his own gain", Yang said how Ruby/Rena is going react to this.
"But Oscar will again convince Maria to see Rena and in the end everybody is reunited", Hakaze said to them.
"This time it is her!" Oscar insisted that it's really Ruby Rose due to what he heard from Rena before.
"Oscar, I've heard of you. You're that con man from St. Silver, who was holding auditions to find an Ruby Rose look-a-like." Rena gasp after she overheard all that coming from Maria's mouth.
"This is so not good", Jaune said again.
"Ruby will feel very hurt from this", Blake said.
"She will blame Oscar as well for this", Weiss said next.
"But your grace, we've come all the way from Patch just to see you…" Oscar said how far they have gone just to reach her.
"And others have come from Mistral."
"No, it's not that, it's not what you think." Oscar tries reason with her even more but no avail.
"How much pain will you inflict on an old woman for money?" Maria said knowing that Oscar wanted that reward but it won't be like this time.
Outside the balcony, Rena horrified and ashamed as she realizes the truth about Oscar and herself.
"Then again, Oscar will not care about the money anymore ever since he realize that Rena is really Ruby Rose", Hakaze said to them.
"Remove him at once!" Maria said to the guards.
"But she is Ruby Rose, I'm telling you, she's the Grand Duchess. If you'll only speak to her, you'll see!" But Oscar is thrown out of the box and lands at Rena's feet, who stares at him with agonizing realization.
"It was all a lie, wasn't it?" A devastated Rena ask Oscar.
"Well what Oscar was planning originally is out of the bag", Mercury commented.
"But Oscar will get this fix anyway", Emerald tells him that Oscar will get things right.
"No, no…" Oscar tries to excuse himself.
"You used me… I, I was just a part of your con to get her money!" Rena turns around and walks hurt and angry at Oscar for that.
"No, no, no, no... look, it may have started out that way but everything's different now, because you really are Ruby Rose, you are." Oscar said it may have been like that before but not anymore because of what Rena said earlier when talking to Sophie.
"True, but Oscar and Peter no longer cares about the money due to what they both learn from Rena's past", Tai said feeling grateful that they both don't care about money.
"No… Stop it! From the very beginning you lied… and I not only believed you, I actually… Argh!" Rena stops after Oscar grabs her arm.
"Rena, please. When you spoke of the hidden door of the wall opening and the little boy… listen to me that was…" Oscar says and yet Rena doesn't want to hear him out.
"NO! I don't want to hear about anything I said or remembered! You just leave me alone!" Rena then retaliates by slapping him… then she turns and runs off, Oscar follows her, but gets caught up in the crowd.
"Rena please. You have to know the truth!" Well no way to catch up with her anymore, so need a different idea to get Rena and Maria to be reunited.
"Got any better ideas Oscar?" Summer ask him.
"I think we are about to see what my counterpart has in mind."
Long shot Vale Opera House. Maria coming out the door down the steps. Oscar is still standing on the steps when he sees her. In Oscar's POV as Maria is walking toward the car. A very proper CHAUFFER helps Maria in. Oscar slides into the drivers seat and roars away, the stunned Chauffer left standing in the dust.
"Your majesty!" And the Chauffeur gets left behind.
"That felt kidnapping the Royal Highness", Winter commented.
"Well you do know we don't want the 2 to spend the rest of their lives alone", James commented to get Winter understand what Oscar is trying to do anyway.
In the car, Maria is jolted by the fast motion of the car.
"Hey! Slow down!" Maria commanded until Oscar turns from the front seat and looks at her.
"I won't slow down. Not until you listen." Oscar counters.
"You! How dare you?! Stop this car immediately! Stop this car!" Maria commanded again after recognizing Oscar again and the car slams to a stop in front of Sophie's House. Oscar gets out of the car and goes around to Maria's door and opens it.
"You have to talk to her! Just look at her. Please." Oscar demanded Maria speaks with Rena at this instant.
"I won't be badgered by you a moment longer." Maria still refuses until Oscar pulls a familiar music box.
"Do you recognize this?" Oscar thrusts the MUSIC BOX into her hands. Maria is taken aback. Oscar has her attention. Maria holds the music box against her chest tightly. She gasps.
"Oh, where did you get this?" Maria ask because she doesn't remember Ruby dropping it during the escape.
"I know you've been hurt. But it's just possible that she's been as lost and alone as you." Oscar said in a softer tone.
"You'll stop at nothing will you?"
"I'm probably about as stubborn as you are." Oscar said and Maria will now go and confront Rena this time.
"All right Oscar!" Yang cheered along with some who wanted to Maria and Ruby be reunited again.
"Let's see how this is going to go now", Blake said with a smile.
Inside Sophie's house a moment later, Rena is packing to leave Vale. There is a knocking at the door.
"Go away, Oscar…" Rena said said thinking it was Oscar while angrily packing, but we hear the door open and someone coming in. Rena turns to see Maria.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I… I thought you were…" Rena apologies for mistaking Maria for Oscar.
"I know very well who you thought I was. Who exactly are you?" Maria ask while smiling at the sites of Rena.
"Eh… I … I was hoping you could tell me." Rena said and Maria sighs and sits down.
"My dear, I'm old and I'm tired of being conned and tricked."
"I don't want to trick you." Rena said that she doesn't wanna trick Maria at all.
"And I suppose the money doesn't interest you either?"
"I just want to know who I am whether or not I belong to a family, your family." Rena said and the audiences knows they are getting there already.
"You're a very good actress. The best yet, in fact. But I've had enough." Maria stands and sweeps past Rena. Rena catches a scent of something.
"Peppermint…" Maria pauses. Still suspicious when Rena said that.
"Now that's a hint", Ozpin said knowing this gets Maria's attention.
"An oil for my hands." Maria said and Rena closes her eyes, the memories flooding back.
"Yes… I spilled a bottle… The carpet was soaked. And it forever smelled of peppermint." Rena looks at Maria.
"Like you." Maria is staring at Rena, stopped dead. Rena continues, surprising even herself.
"I used to lie there on the rug and oh how I missed you when you went away… When you came here. To Vale." Rena said and Maria notices Rena playing with a key around her neck.
"What is that?" Maria ask Rena.
"This well, I've always had it… Ever since before I can remember." Rena said that she has ever since.
"May I?" Maria holds out her hands as Rena takes off the key and hands it to her. Maria takes the Music Box from her evening bag.
"It was our secret. My Ruby's and mine…" Maria said nearly in tears.
Rena begins humming the lullaby, then the music box begins to play. Maria is surprised that Rena knows how it works - she is Ruby Rose!
"THE WORDS TO THE LULLABY FROM THE PROLOGUE" Rena sings with broken emotions. Tears stream down Maria's face as she joins Rena in the lullaby.
ANYA & MARIE: Here this song and remember soon you'll be home with me Once Upon a December." And they finish there and now their cracking voices trail off as they look at each other and know that their search is finally over.
"Oh Ruby! My Ruby!" Rena now remembering she is really Ruby Rose with Maria embraces each other now they are reunited.
"Hooray! Alright!" Some cheered after seeing Rena now remembers who she is and finally reunites with Maria, even some threw their food up in the air which are just popcorn.
"Oh now I'm reunited with my grandma", Ruby said with tears of happiness in her eyes.
Meanwhile, Oscar on street looking up at the window, he blows a kiss and turns to walk away.
End
Coming up next will be the final part where Roman meets his demise, then Ruby and Oscar get to be together as lovers.
