Opening File: Dani 'Phantom' Fenton

Danielle "Dani" Phantom, also known as Dani Phantom and Danielle Fenton-Phantom is the clone and 'cousin' (3rd cousin removed) of Danny Phantom who was created by his act enemy Vlad Plasmius. Originated from Dimension N-004 until she was pulled from her reality by Van Kleiss using his device to pull several individuals from their realities. Vlad, desperately lonely despite his wealth, had made unsuccessful attempts to convince Danny Phantom in disowning Jack Fenton and join him as his son. He then tried to create the perfect half-ghost son for himself. He conducted a series of experiments making clones of Danny, using samples of Danny's half-ghost DNA which he and Valerie gathered during their battles with Danny. All of his attempts failed except for one, which resulted in a younger half-ghost girl whom Vlad named Danielle.

Vlad treated her as his own daughter, and never faltered in showing love and affection to her; and Dani never faltered in her desire to serve her 'father.' Vlad sent Dani on a mission to capture Danny so that Vlad could take the final DNA samples he needed for his perfect clone. She snuck into Danny's room and waited for him in her human form, reading his comic books. When he came, she introduced herself to him as Danielle (his "third cousin once removed") and they quickly formed a bond despite Danny's initial suspicion and Dani's subservience to Vlad.

Later, Dani succeeded in bringing Danny to Vlad. She then found out that the 'perfect clone' Vlad was trying to create was not her, but another one, a perfect imitation of Danny that was nearly complete. It would mean that Dani would be killed alongside Danny once Vlad was finished. When Vlad showed Dani his true colors by snapping at her for questioning his orders, she, disillusioned, joined Danny against him, destroying all his other clones and equipment, and stopping his plan. Dani then bailed Sam, Tucker, and Danny out of trouble by overshadowing Mr. Lancer and Maddie mid-rant.

She said her goodbyes and then leaves to travel on her own, promising to return. Much later, Dani's instability finally caught up to her, causing her powers to weaken and her body to spontaneously melt into a puddle of ectoplasm without warning. Dani returned to Amity Park, seeking Danny's help and hoping to avoid Vlad. Unfortunately, Vlad discovered her presence in Elmerton and sent Valerie to capture her, so he could resume his cloning experiments by melting her down and studying her remains. Valerie, upon discovering Dani was a half-ghost and capturing her, then hatched a plan to use Dani in order to lure Danny.

Valerie's plan worked, and she captured Danny, whilst handing Dani over to Vlad. While torturing and interrogating Danny, Valerie was convinced by Danny to let him go to find a cure for Dani and save her from Vlad, as she was half-human and Valerie didn't want to destroy humans. Using one of his parents' inventions, Danny and Valerie narrowly rescued Dani and re-stabilize her condition with the Fenton Ecto-Dejecto. Rejuvenated, Dani then attacks Vlad, and goes with Valerie when Danny tells her to do so, leaving Danny alone to angrily confront Vlad and tell him to stay away from Dani.

Dani then parted ways with Danny again, intending to do her own good in the world. Dani would later return as as one of the ghosts assisting Danny in turning the Earth of Dimension N-004 intangible to save it from the Disasteroid. Not long after, Dani is abducted from her universe by Van Kleiss, working with the Fallen Sammael to build an army of powerful beings. Dani along with Artemis, Superboy, Raven and Skulker managed to escape Van Kleiss and Sammael but Raven was left unconscious and Skulker was separated from the group, leaving Dani, Artemis and Superboy in the middle of Nowhere(both literally figuratively) with a weakened and unconscious Raven to protect.

In their brief time together, Dani along with Artemis and Superboy opted to get as far away from Van Kleiss as they could but in that time, they were spied upon by Jujunga and later attacked by the Fallen Moloch, the Beast of Eternal Darkness. Despite their abilities, the three were trapped by the dark forest Moloch conjured and were nearly swallowed up by the monster's dark roots and forced to endure their worst memories and nightmares. Fortunately, a strange being was with them and helped them escape but they were separated across the world. Danielle was found in the backyard of the Sanban Estate by Kuki and Mushi Sanban who brought her inside to be healed.

Despite their best efforts, Danielle had been mentally traumatized by the torture that Moloch inflicted on her, forcing Headmaster Splinter to use a spirit to remove her memories, leaving her with amnesia and only remembering her name and the fact that she had family out there. The Sanbans took her in, the daughters happily making her their new best friend and surrogate sister while Genki and Kani Sanban agreed to watch her. In that time, Danielle had become very close friends with the Sanban family, even helping them during the Golden Castle event when they had been abducted by Billiam Milliam. Using her powers, she sought to help the Sanbans and everyone Billiam had abducted, sneaking them out of their prison and engaging Billiam Milliam in direct combat.

Despite her power and determination, Danielle ended up being turned into a golden statue and tossed into the ocean. Luckily her ghostly powers allowed her to slip out of her golden prison and she returned to help, facing Billiam alongside the Justice Friends, the Archer Clan and Gargoyles as Billiam enacted his plan to steal all the gold and riches in the world. When Billiam fused with the golden castle, Dani faced the real Billiam in the very heart of the castle and damaged the machine that powered Billiam, causing the criminal to go insane due to the power of the magical crown Billiam had used in conjunction with his machine. The fallout had left Dani unconscious but had also given her an Aura and had left her with her Heterochromia, one blue and one green eye while her hair was now a mix of black and white.

Despite this surprise Danielle was in good condition and had received thanks from everyone she had helped saved. Her newfound celebrity status and her actions left Danielle to consider applying to Yamanouchi Academy and become a Huntress but at the same time, she feared the longer she stayed with the Sanbans, the more she was becoming a charity case for them. However, none of the Sanbans considered this as they had been extremely grateful for Danielle saving them from Billiam, especially Kani who harbored a secret of his own that Dani would soon discover.

The secret of Kani Sanban formerly being the Japanese hero SAM-R-I.

During the Crom Crises, Dani along with the Sanban family was attacked by the Harvester of Blood, formerly Skulker sent by Crom Cruach in spreading his reign of terror while Japan was celebrating the Day of SAM-R-I that honored Japan's greatest Huntsman and Hero. She was later abducted by Skulker, brought to Crom Cruach as part of a group of first born maidens to be sacrificed for Crom in spreading his eternal night. While her existence as a hybrid of human and ghost surprised him, he sensed from her blood she was a third born child something Skulker as a Harvester of Blood should have been aware of as well. Crom would backhand Skulker into a wall while angrily criticizing him, and telling him when Skulker tried to defend himself he isn't supposed to think he's supposed to obey! He would also explain that he had a rule when it comes to picking Harvesters, they never indulge in personal affairs while serving Crom's will a rule which Skulker had broken.

For his failure and allowing personal grudges to interfere Crom found Skulker no longer worthy of being the Harvester of Blood, taking back the Harvester Sickles and the power that came with them reducing a shaking Skulker to the same weak state he was in when the Sickles first found him. Remarking his disgust at Skulker one last time while picking him up, he would turn his attention back to Dani. While not firstborn he still saw potential use for her, explaining since she could be a sacrifice than he would instead make use of her power.

But Dani would seize the chance provided by Skulker no longer being able to hold her down, to break herself, Raven, and Star free. All three would then attack Crom and each would launch a powerful blast at him, though when the smoke cleared Crom would be revealed now looking a mixture of man and serpent suffering only burns that were quickly healing and very annoyed. He would then freeze each of the girls in a block of ice, but before he could completely cover them in ice he found himself attacked by King Arthur and Macbeth, with Arthur managing to take Crom by surprise by causing him to pain once again with Excalibur. Arthur challenged him asking if he dared to face Excalibur again, Crom replied the sword could only hurt him if it touched him, before covering the throne room and ice and ordering Shego and Pinocchio to take his sacrifices away while he dealt with the intruders.

Luckily, Arthur along with the Gargoyles escaped with the girls, taking them to the Cave of the Sleeping King where Arthur had slept since the fall of Camelot where they would be safe from Crom. When Dani awoke she spoke with Raven but due to her amnesia she remembered nothing about meeting her in Van Kleiss's lab and Raven chose to hold of on telling her. Marco Diaz arrived with Glossaryck, looking for Star Butterfly and they all met the Gargoyles in their stone form where Tom explained of their origins and the fact they turn to stone in daylight. Crom then arrived, coming to sacrifice the three girls and begin his Eternal Night but luckily the reincarnation of the ancient warrior of Ireland Cu Chullain and Rolf who came with the Staff of Shepards arrived to assist, followed quickly by the Justice Friends.

Dani along with Star and Marco faced down the Harvester of Riches, formerly Leonidas Van Rook and managed to defeat him with their combined skills and powers. Dani along with rest of the gathered heroes faced off against Crom as he assumed his true form, a giant serpent. Rolf used the Shepard's Cane to enact the curse that imprisoned Crom before, choosing Dani along with the majority of the gathered heroes to represent the symbols of the Zodiac that would imprison Crom back in the stone tomb guarded by the golden statue resembling his true form. However, Crom would commit suicide over being imprisoned again and devoured himself before their very eyes.

Crom's suicide broke the evil god's hold over Avalon, causing the Bodach army to vanish and with the Harvesters' weapons broken Crom Cruach was defeated for good. Dani would return to Japan with Kani, happily reunited with the Sanban sisters who had been worried about them. Not long after, Dani would experience a sudden illness that would cause her to become very cold. So cold, she would be put in a bath with Fire Dust to help keep her warm.

It was determined she was manifesting a new form of power in the form of creating ice and her cold body temperature was a side-effect of her new power without her able to effectively control it. To help her, Genki sought out the aide of Frosta who hails from a family with a family Semblance centered around creating and controlling ice. With the aid of the Shinkalions, Danielle was escorted to the Shiga Highlands where Frosta's family estate is located. During the travel to private airfield where she would be taken to the Highlands, strange machines appeared and attacked Danielle's escort, seemingly intent on taking.

Unknown to Dani and her escorts, the machines were AIs projecting into solid holographic imagery sent by Van Kleiss to retrieve Dani. It was at this time, that Dani had made contact with an unknown spirit while still inside the de-icing unit. She was alarmed and forced to emerge to help defeat the Ais before she succumbed to her ice powers and was rushed back into the de-icing before being loaded onto the airship. Upon her arrival, Dani met Frosta who helped her to better control her powers to the point that Dani was able to step outside the de-icing unit and started living with Frosta.

Their relationship had a rough start as Frosta was stoic during their interactions and believing that Danielle was very naïve in regards to the world and how a Huntress is supposed to act but at the same time was able to help Dani effectively control her powers. It was only during the near start of the Age of Eternal Winter was their blooming friendship put to the test. When a great blizzard brought an early winter to Japan, Dani went out to look for Frosta who had gone to the cave of her ancestors to visit the graves of her parents. Frosta was not pleased by the intrusion and did not consider Dani's warning until they returned to the entrance to see it had been snowed in.

Frosta used her Semblance to remove the snow but the sudden appearance of the blizzard outside took her by surprise and she almost ended up sinking into the snow if Dani hadn't saved her by turning them both intangible. They managed to make it back to Frosta's home where they learned that the blizzard was affecting all of Japan. Danielle wanted to return to Tokyo to make sure the Sanbans were all right and Frosta elected to accompany her. Danielle allowed it but she and Frosta ended up speaking how Frosta's demeanor made it hard for Danielle to understand her and believe she was looking out for her, given Frosta's attitude at the Cavern of Sculpted Memories.

Frosta argued that Dani had intruded in her family's sacred ground, but Dani argued that was only because she and Frosta's staff had been worried about her. Frosta relented and apologized, albeit with difficulty given that she had gone to the cavern for some alone time and had been caught up in visiting the graves of her parents but admitted that she had been unfair to Dani who forgave her. Dani then got back to the task at hand, putting Frosta on her back piggy-back style in her ghost form and took off, flying directly to Tokyo.

It was during the flight that Frosta had been overwhelmed from being so high in the sky and Dani admitted that flying was her favorite power. They returned to Tokyo to see it had been turned into a winter wonderland by the blizzard and managed to make it back to the Sanban home, greeted happily by the Sanban sisters. During their visit, the blizzard refused to let up and so the girls began regaling Frosta with stories of what had happened since Dani had appeared in their home. Frosta found it entertaining for a time and began telling her own story: the legend of the Ice Queen.

The story turned out to be real as Dani, Frosta and Genki sisters were attacked and separated by the Ice Queen with Kuki and Mushi being taken to the North Pole. Danielle and Frosta woke up on an island Plumeria where they met the Ice and Candy Elementals: Nigel Uno and Abigail Lincoln. Upon learning Nigel's name, Frosta immediately attacked much Danielle's shock, holding Nigel and his family responsible for the death of her parents. Danielle got between her and Nigel and was seemingly stabbed in the chest, much to Frosta's horror but Dani's intangibility saved her from harm.

Abby stepped in and engaged Frosta in a brutal fight that ended in Abby knocking her out. While Frosta was unconscious Nigel, Abby and Dani recounted the events that brought them to Plumeria and Dani explained to Nigel and Abby how Frosta lost her parents before they were attacked by snow and ice conjurations created by the Ice Queen. During the fight, Juniper Lee the Te Xuan Ze arrived and assisted along with Perfuma in defeating the icy enemies. Once they were all defeated, June introduced herself and explained that the Ice Queen was after the Ice Elemental and using the very same golden crown that Billiam Milliam had used before his defeat by Danielle.

During their stay, Danielle tried to convince Frosta that Nigel was not her enemy even if he was related to her real enemies. Frosta initially refused to hear her out until Danielle recounted what Genki had told her about family being more than blood. Not long after, the Ice Queen sent another of her brainwashed pawns, Kumamon to bring Nigel to her. Despite their best efforts, they were defeated and would have been killed if Nigel had not surrendered himself.

When Abby declared her intention was to rescue Nigel Danielle decided to join her, followed by June and a reluctant Frosta. During their journey, the blizzard became worse as the Ice Queen seemingly regained her powers that was then followed by a cannon knocking them out of the sky. They were found and saved by a pirate named Sea-Hawk who had shot them out of the sky due to a misunderstanding. Danielle was ready to fight when Abby negotiated with the pirates to release them, promising to defeat the Ice Queen and end the blizzard that was keeping them trapped in the middle of a frozen ocean.

Upon their arrival at the North Pole, they met with Princess Lilo and a mysterious woman who pointed them to the Ice Queen's domain. Upon their arrival, they confronted the Ice Queen where Dani found Kuki and Mushi but to her horror, they had seemingly forgotten about her until she managed to tearfully remind them of their bond. They happily embraced before the Ice Queen appeared and summoned icy monsters to kill them. Despite Dani's ghost powers and June's magical skills, the Ice Queen had the upper hand until the arrival of Cayde and Banshee followed by Nigel who had awakened as the true Ice Elemental and Perfuma who had gained the power of the Green.

The Ice Queen in last attempt of desperation and madness tried to freeze them, only for their combined powers to create a barrier that halted the Ice Queen's attack and broke her curse of Eternal Winter and caused her to melt away, her immortality and powers gone. Danielle would turn to Frosta, watching in sadness as someone she considered a good friend was seemingly intent on continuing with her grudge against Nigel before she relented much to Dani's happiness. Aldamon would appear sometime after the Ice Queen was defeated and met with Nigel and the others once he found his friend Kumamon, unconscious but free from Patience's curse. They would explain what happened to him and that he would be all right now that the Ice Queen was defeated.

Danielle and Frosta returned to Frosta's home where Danielle would take part in a ceremony where she and Frosta would create icy statues of themselves inside the Cave of Remembrance, formally recognizing Danielle as a friend and adopted member of Frosta's family, much to her happiness. They would meet the Sanbans in Frosta's home and enjoy a nice dinner with Danielle having gained more friends and a bigger family.

On the lower and darker levels of the Fortress, a door was kicked open as Tibuorn, Samedi, Genki, Mars, Li, and Albert made their way into the next dark concrete hallway in that order. The group started walking down the concrete hallway to two large metal doors on the other side of the hallway.

"Do you have any clue how many people that their experimenting on?" Albert asked as he looked over the wall computer, trying to bypass the security codes.

"From what Sebben said, they were people from other dimensions. All of them possessing unique abilities, even unique to us." Tiburon answered. "They were all brought here to be experimented on and for Van Kleiss to find a way to take their powers so he can become stronger."

"I can confirm that. One of the people who were brought here, she's been living with our family for quite some time. Though she has suffered amnesia and can barely remembering anything about her life from her home universe." Genki nodded in agreement. "We have pieced enough together to understand she is an orphan."

"That's right. She's the ghost girl, right?" Samedi recalled. "The one who helped take down Billiam Milliam and the Ice Queen. Dani Phantom."

"Danielle Fenton, though her surname comes from the name of the one she was cloned from." Genki stated, knowing enough of Danielle's past.

"How is she?" Tiburon asked.

"Recovering from learning a new power." Genki said with a small smile. "She has formed a close friendship with my daughters…To the point that after this if we cannot recover her memory or find a way to return her…"

"Genki?" Tiburon asked slowly, looking to the woman he used to have feelings for.

"…We're considering asking her if she would like us to adopt her." Genki confessed, surprising the group.

"Really?" Samedi and Albert both asked.

Genki nodded. "Really."

"That is wonderful." Li said with a small smile. "If her heroics are anything to go by, I'd say you have been a good influence on her."

"She was like that before we found her; my husband and I have only tried to help her find what she has really needed." Genki confessed. "Like I said, she's an orphan and she has helped to save us from many troubles, including Billiam, that mad god Crom and even saved my daughters from the Ice Queen without ever asking anything in return. If anything she's scared of somehow overstaying her welcome, even though she'll never owe us anything for what she has done for us."

Tiburon noted the look on Genki's face. "You've come to care for her, haven't you?"

Genki looked surprised but nodded with a small smile. "She is quite the kind and helpful little girl and a very brave one at that. We've all grown to care for her, not just because she is a recognized hero but because of the kind and sweet child she is and that's why we're here now. Not just to stop the madness Van Kleiss is causing but to help her."

"And what happens if she decides to return to her world?" Tiburon asked.

"…It's her decision and we will respect it." Genki admitted, frowning a bit now. "Even if she will be greatly missed."

SLASH!

CLASH!

SLASH!

She remembered feeling the sweat coming down her forehead.

SLASH!

SLASH!

She remembered her arms aching, her hands tightly gripping the handle of her sword.

CLASH!

She remembered seeing the sparks from her sword clashing with the blade of opponent.

SLASH!

SLASH!

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

She remembered the growls and roars of the approaching Grimm.

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

ZAP!

She remembered the blinding bolts of bright golden light from one monster in particular.

WHOOSH!

CLASH!

She remembered her feet aching as she charged through the battlefield, matching her opponent's speed as their blades clashed in a brilliant but deadly dance of battle between two skilled warriors.

A tear in the sky…

A red giant with four eyes…

Lightning scorching the earth…

She only remembered seeing it for a split second before it all went blinding white…

"Ah!" She gasped, her eyes shooting open as she sat up on the bed, panting slightly.

"Genki?" She looked over and saw her husband had awakened, likely because of her and sat up, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Is everything all right?"

Genki took a moment to calm herself. "Yes…just a dream…"

Kani, however was not convinced. "You were dreaming of Nowhere, weren't you?"

Well, given he was her husband, it was most likely expected of him to notice something about her felt off and to have a good guess what it was.

"It was…A recounting of the battle." Genki honestly sighed.

The battle of Nowhere…

Already a week had passed since the battle had finally ended but it had left a long and lasting memory in the matriarch of the Sanban family.

And her husband as well.

"Do not feel bad that it may disturb you." He softly said. "I doubt anyone could sleep peacefully with what happened so fresh in their minds. I can promise you that you are likely not the only one to have disturbing dreams about it."

Genki sighed again.

Her husband may be right, but it was of little comfort to her.

Not when her dreams also recounted her honesty with her fellow Huntsmen on the matter of adopting a certain little ghost girl into their family.

A girl they had come to proudly call family.
