Chapter 3
The drums of liberation beat again;
Gear 5th vs Bloodstone.
The air in home world's plaza area was very tense,
still in his battle stance, Luffy now clad in white clothing and hair, stood firm and smiling like a maniac ready to attack Bloodstone, who much like Spinel and the diamonds; look at the awoken powers of the rubber pirate captain.
"Wha-? What is this?" barked the fusion gem. "Your appearance is almost that of White Diamond, when she controlled other gems!" Bloodstone then turned her head to the diamond in question and began yelling. "Is this your doing White Diamond? Were you so scared of losing you'd stoop to your old tricks back in the first and second era when you ruled?"
Bloodstone then sneered wickedly. "Heh. If Steven Universe were to hear I'm sure he'd be Very disappointed."
"N-Nonsense!" White blurted back. "I haven't done a thing to this human; I can't control them like I did with gems. And even if I could I wouldn't Because I know Steven wouldn't approve of that!"
"Ha ha ha ha!" Luffy Laughed, drawing Bloodstone's attention back to him. "This Steven guy seems really important to everyone in someway huh? Well Spinel said he's her family so that means I gotta kick your ass so you don't hurt any more of Spinel's family!"
Bloodstone snorted indigently. "You really believe a mere human can topple a gem, especially ME?! Fine then, just try you miserable bra-"
"NOW GUM-GUM DAWN PISTOL!" with lightning speed Luffy begun the battle anew delivering a powerful haki induced punch right to Bloodstone's face with the fusion not reacting till it was too late. Luffy's action's didn't just shock the evil fusion as the four spectators who had moved a ways away, were shocked at the Gum-Gum Warrior's attack.
"Oh Stars! He attacked her face!" Blue openly expressed with worry. "I understand that She's an enemy but is he trying to shatter her?"
"Just a moment." yellow diamond replied as she just set Spinel back on the ground had noticed something. "What is happening to-"
Luffy's Punch continued to sink deeper into Bloodstone's skull until from the back of her head where the four gems could see from the distance was that Bloodstone's own head was stretching as Luffy's punch continued moving forward.
"What in the?" Yellow replied in bewilderment as the site of the battle taking a very strange turn.
Soon Luffy allowed his punch to start letting bloodstone recoil as all the force he'd stored in that brief instance caught up and Bloodstone was then sent flying backwards bouncing off the ground leaving a large crack on the ground every time they landed on the ground before the fusion regain sense and used their arms to grab the ground and skidded backwards and eventually stopped. Once again Bloodstone was left in fear given the fact her opponent just dealt a deadly blow to the area where two of their three gems were.
"I-I can't believe he just DID That!" screamed the fusion with a mix of fear and fury as they begun clasping three of their hands over each gem checking for a crack anywhere. "How? How did the welp DO that?" while it was clear Luffy's punch did do damage, it was also evident that Luffy didn't damage the fusion's gems at all. Just before the fusion could react again though;
"GUM-GUM MOLE GATTLING!" Luffy begun to throw a flurry of punches to the ground and each fist popped up from the ground under Bloodstone. Each punch feeling harder and faster as Luffy continued to uppercut the fusion from a distance, as he continued to astound Spinel and the Diamonds with his abilities. "Woowie! Look at 'im go!" Spinel exclaimed with astonishment as she excitedly continued to watch the spectacle before her eyes. "He's doin' stuff I don't think even I can do!"
"Just Who in the cosmos is this human?" Pondered White as she herself was astonished at Luffy's combat abilities. "He fights like nothing I've ever seen before… It's almost as if he's liberated some sort of power just to turn the tide of this battle."
"Curse this miserable human!" Bloodstone thought as they sailed upward in the air. "I don't know what this strange white form he took is about but he's clearly gained the advantage in this fight. I need to find a way to take him down and win this fight!"
With that Bloodstone fired her cannon behind her allowing the fusion to be propelled toward Luffy. Seeing this, Luffy then begun to jump up and down quickly the ground now seemingly turning to rubber as well, allowing Luffy to apply enough force to jump upward in the air toward Bloodstone with the same level of speed as he began to rapidly spin his left arm preparing another punch.
"Ah Ha Ha Ha! I'm havin' a GREAT time right now!" Luffy responded with Glee as he continued to sail toward his opponent like a missile. Hearing Luffy seemingly not take the grueling death match seriously just made the fusion even more angry than ever before.
"You Rotten- THIS ISN'T A GAME YOU PHONEY WHITE-HAIRED SPINEL YOU!" Bloodstone roared as she begun to rapidly charge her arm cannon again. Desperate to hit and damage Luffy again but to no avail. As long as Luffy was in his Gear 5th form, the battle was totally one sided.
Luffy and Bloodstone continued to trade blow for blows, but no matter how much they tried the deranged fusion just couldn't keep up with the liberated pirate they were trying to kill.
"Yes!" Spinel cheered happily "Luffy's Winning! That Bloodstone jerk doesn't stand a chance against him anymore!" Spinel now no longer in any distress of the situation happily watched as Luffy knocked bloodstone away again then begun to laugh as he bounced on the ground as if he was playing on a bounce house.
"Ha ha ha!" she laughed herself. "Luffy is amazin' I just gotta know how he's doin' all this!"
"Yes well, I do hope your friend doesn't go too overboard." Yellow muttered out loud while looking at the damage Luffy's haki had done when he first transformed along with all the cannon fire damage bloodstone caused in the plaza. "It's going to take several earth Month just to repair half of the damage they did."
After getting knocked into a building Bloodstone fell to their knees, panting heavily trying to think of a way to win. "It's utterly hopeless" the fusion panted out loud as if she was talking to someone. "You said fusing would ensure our victory if anything it will definitely be out down fall." Luffy seemed to notice Bloodstone's ramblings and stopped laughing and just continued to bounce in the place. "Huh looks like they lost their mind or something." Luffy pondered
"It WILL be our victory!" Bloodstone blurted out again this time her voice had a bit of a snooty tone to it. But again, it seemed like she wasn't talking to anyone except herself. "YEA!" Bloodstone responded to herself this time her voice sounding gruffer. "We CAN win you fool!"
All five of the spectators just watched in silence as Bloodstone was just angerly arguing with themselves.
"What….What's happenin' to her?" Spinel asked with a mix of curiosity and worry.
"It seems like her components are becoming undone from the inside. They might not be able to hold their fused form much longer." Yellow speculated placing her hand on her chin.
Bloodstone's eyes soon darted toward Spinel as their kept kneeling on the ground. Their original target was standing a couple hundred feet away yet their original plan had ended failing miserably. But then Bloodstone had began to come up with a twisted plan. "Yess….." the fusion though menacingly. "either she get shattered, or that fake gem brat will get what's coming to him." Bloodstone begun to charge their cannon once more however the barrel was planted on the ground so Luffy and the other didn't notice this. Suddenly, Bloodstone shot up, and summoned Bluebird's ice sword and threw it at luffy as if it were a spear.
"Whao!" exclaimed the straw hat captain.
Luffy seeing this quickly moved out of the way dodging the sword however when he turned his head back to Bloodstone, the vile fusion swung their cannon arm pointing toward Spinel and immediately firing a full power blast. "Say Goodbye Spinel" Bloodstone laughed manically as the beam flew closer and closer to the small pink gem!
"SPINEL!" the Diamonds yelled with worry. All three of them tried to grab Spinel at once and move her to safety but Bloodstone then shot several weaker shots at the diamond's gems. Large amounts of greenish electricity engulfed the three diamonds and they fell to the ground and begun to cried out in pain. "NO!" Spinel wailed in shock. Just as Spinel turned her head back to Bloodstone the beam was just inches from her.
Time seemed to have slowed down to a near standstill. Spinel could do nothing to help her family nor save herself. Still standing in disbelief as the blast was almost 5 feet from her face Spinel begun to shed tears again.
"Is… Is this, then end?" She though her heart feeling very heavy. "I guess nothin' supposed to go right for me. And maybe this is what I get for trying ta kill Steven." Spinel begun to quiver in saddness. "I just." She sniffled to herself "I just wanna be happy."
Just then Luffy's hand stretched around the blast and wrapped around Spinel's torso area will his hand accidentally clinging onto Spinel's gem.
"NOT TODAY YOU DAMN ZAP CANNON! NOW GUM-GUM ROCKET GRAB!" Luffy screamed as he pulled with all his might to save Spinel from certain doom.
"Luffy?" Spinel said with surprise as her tears kept flowing again.
"Cure it all!" grumbled Bloodstone as she then swung wildly back towards Luffy and Spinel. "Though its not a total loss since I did blast those wretched diamonds, HA!
Luffy set Spinel down right next to him but his arm was still wrapped around her. Both stretchy friends watched as the diamonds withered in pain as the green colored energy continued to attack them. "N-No." Spinel sniffled again. "Please stop this" Spinel quietly begged. But Bloodstone just stood where she was staring at the diamonds as she begun to laugh hysterically at their misfortune. This caused Spinel to weep louder as she tried to reason with the demented fusion.
"PLEASE STOP!" Spinel bawled, "Please stop hurting my family!" Spinel then collapsed to her knees still wrapped around Luffy's arm "Please, they're all I have…"
unbeknown to Luffy a strange but small bit of blue electricity begun to come from his hand that was still placed on Spinel's gem. Spinel still weeping quickly took notice of this. As the small bit of light caught her attention. The strange blue energy zapped from Luffy's palm to Spinel's gem. Spinel soon felt a strange feeling within in her but it didn't feel bad nor good. It just felt. Different.
"I've had enough of you, you damn jerk!" Luffy Growled as he begun to unwrap his arm from Spinel's body, enraged at everything he'd just witnessed "It's time for me to end this; RIGHT NOW!"
Luffy with all his might stretched out his hands and just before he could grab Bloodstone, he also enlarged his hands similar to how Spinel did earlier the only difference was Luffy enlarged his arms to the size he inflates them in 3rd gear.
Before Bloodstone could even react again, Luffy clamped the fusion with his arms, he then begun to swing his arms around wildly, slamming Bloodstone around every where he could similar to his fight with Kaido. Bloodstone was being thrown around like a rag doll taking much more damage, then before. Suddenly Bloodstone's body begun to glow white, and the fusion finally became undone. Demantoid, Aquamarine and Eyeball Ruby laid in Luffy's giant hands. Battered, bruised, and could no longer fight.
"Whao." Luffy said in surprise "Zap Cannon split into three gem peoples!"
"Ugh…Of Course we did you buffoon" groaned Aquamarine "Gems can fuse with one another"
"Curse it all" winced Demantoid "I've once again been defeated due to my partner's incompetence."
"Shut..Up…" replied Eyeball who felt she was on the verge of blacking out from her pain. "we can still take him he's not to tough…"
Luffy then broke out of his surprised trance and then using his powers, expanded the rest of his body till he was as giant as the diamonds. He pulled the three gems in his hands toward his face.
"Shi-Shi-Shi-Shi" he laughed smugly. "Sorry but you guys totally lost this." Luffy then took on an angry looking expression. "you guys hurt my new friend, and your dumb zap cannon fusion thing hurt her family. There's no way you guys can EVER beat me. I'm the man whos gonna be the king of the Pirates!" Luffy Boomed his voice echoed throughout the city area their battle took place many gems seeing Luffy's giant stature in his Gear 5th form and his voice could also be heard. Before Luffy could say anything else though.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Luffy turned around and saw three giant clouds appeared out of nowhere each seemed to be colored after the diamonds, one yellow, blue, and white. The Diamonds' screaming could no longer be heard and Luffy could see Spinel frantically running toward the clouds as they begun to dissipate. As the clouds finally cleared all that Luffy could see were three giant sized Diamond gems still faintly glowing green around them.
"h-heh-heh." Spluttered Eyeball smugly "n-now who's laughing. We totally got them."
"this is what you, Spinel and that Lousy Steven Universe get" Laughed aquamarine through gritted teeth.
"S-Stop you clods!" Demantoid angerly spoke through her pain. "You don't know what he'll do next if you keep egg-"
Before Demantoid could finish her sentence. Luffy in a final burst of anger pulled both hands away from his face and away each other, demantoid in one fist and Eyeball and Aquamarine in another.
"NOW GUM-GUM…DAWN CYMBAL!"
Luffy then brought his hands together with great force, slamming his hands with his palms open as he swung them together creating a huge gust of wind fling in every direction from his giant-sized clap.
Luffy then let his hands separate and just as he did, Demantoid, Eyeball, and Aquamarine begun to slowly float down to the ground. While the force of the attack didn't crack or shatter them; Luffy's Toon-like abilities left the three gems flat and round like a couple of coins. The three flattened gems ended up landing on three of Luffy's fingers, he then begun to twirl them around in circles. None of the gems liked this at all.
"It's time for you three to get outta here!" Luffy replied as with on final twirl of his three fingers, then flung the three attackers up into the sky, and they sailed away into the sky like three flying saucers. Once they were out of sight a single twinkle could be seen.
With Bloodstone finally defeated, and the danger passed Luffy begun to shrink back to normal size, as he cautiously moved toward Spinel. Reaching where Spinel was kneeling and crying sadly Luffy had finally returned to normal size and had also dropped out of his Gear 5th form. He quietly watched Spinel who from his perspective seemingly just had her family die befor her eyes.
"Spinel. I'm Sorry I couldn't help your family." Luffy said somberly trying to break the silence, knowing the pain Spinel was currently feeling.
Spinel sniffled, some of the little amount of snot the had coming out of her nose disappearing before slowly trickling out again along with her tears. "It's fine Luffy." Spinel responded "you didn't do this. Those dumb jerks. I'll never forgive them for this though." Just then, when the green glowing on the diamonds' gems finally dissipated. The three giant sized gemstones for some reason began to shrink in size surprising both Luffy and Spinel greatly.
"HUH?!" both rubber friends said in shock.
Soon all three of the Diamonds' gemstones were now the size of any other gems in the empire. Spinel and Luffy walked closer peering at the three Diamond gems laying on the ground after confirming that the energy was no longer on them Spinel cautiously picked them up holding all three diamonds in her arms. Her tears still streaming down her face as she calmly but sadly held what remained of her family in her hands.
"Why did this have to happen?" Spinel mumbled quietly "Am I doomed to never be happy?" Spinel then hugged the gems in her hands tightly to hear face and begun to weep again. "Please. Please come back. I-I don't know what to do." Luffy somberly watch Spinel quietly weep again hearing an occasion hiccup. Then with a firm but determined look on his face the straw hat captain placed his hat on his head again. Having made a decision, Luffy then place a hand on Spinel's shoulder. Spinel turned her head to her new friend. Once again seeing the firm but non aggressive look on Luffy's face, which then faded to a kind smile. Luffy then ask Spinel something that she definitely didn't expect.
"Spinel. Will you join my crew?"

Next time: While Luffy tries to figure out what to do next with Spinel. They decide the next thing to do is find Steven Universe and the rest of Luffy's Crew, but where are they and what of the evil Captain Warp, what of him and his crew. On the next chapter; "Off to Earth?! Zoro and the boy with the Pink Lion!"
Luffy: "I'm gonna be the king of the Pirates!"
