The tip toeing solider stood at the corner. He glanced down the next hallway. The little pattering of rain on the roof was covering up his breathing. His smile broke across his face. He spotted his victims. The fire nation royal siblings walked down the hallway talking animatedly between each other.

Well Azula was talking animatedly Zuko was walking beside her and nodding now and again. Azula was gesturing wildly and sometimes smacking a scroll that she held in her other hand. Zuko held a wooden training sword in one hand. Wrapped around his waist was a small child sized whip. That was an interesting addition to his outfit. It made the young man resemble a circus animal tamer.

The solider started on his targets again. The hallway was a quick shot. There was nowhere for him to hide. He would have to sneak up on them as fast as possible. He took off his boots and then got onto his tip toes. He ducked low and started sprinting towards the two young children. His arms wide and fingers splayed.

A sudden burst of thunder and lightning hit the house. Zuko and Azula both paused in surprise. That's when he struck.

"Got you!"

Katara padded down the hallway. A soft smile on her face. A silver tray of warmed moist towels carried in her hands. The pattering of rain on the roof and walls made her feel positively giddy. She almost felt like she was glowing in delight. The last few days since her….what she did with Zuko's lips…She still hesitated to call it a kiss per se…But since then she had felt a bit more at ease around him and Azula.

The rain coming off and on for the past few days just made her feel all the better. She felt the tug that Hama always described. The feeling that she could count every last raindrop. The feeling that the very flow of rain and the steam from the ground was calling to her. Making a loving comforting blanket around her. She almost felt like it was whispering in her ears. If she listened very carefully she could almost hear—

"Let us go! Let us go!" Katara paused. That was Azula. And she was in trouble. Katara turned a corner, then another, her bare feet cracking on the finely washed wooden floors. She came to a skidding halt around the final corner.

A tall man in a fire nation uniform was holding Azula over one shoulder. Under his arm was Zuko. Azula was kicking and flailing at the man's back and shoulders hopelessly. Zuko was swinging his sword around. But somehow not managing to hit anything. The man had a broad face, thick full black hair, his head was back and he was laughing menancingly.

Katara didn't think. She didn't plan. She rushed forward. She felt the warm water in the towels on her tray. With a simple move the water stiffened, solidified, turned to brick ice. The tray doubled in weight. The towels sticking to the silver tray.

Katara's small legs pumped and her jaw tightened. Her eyes flaring in concentration. She ran harder, faster, she halved the distance between herself and the fire nation solider. She launched herself into the air. Her legs pinwheeling. She flew like a spider lemur after a tasty bug. Her tray came up above her head.

Azula glanced up in surprise. The fire nation princess's eyes widened in terror as Katara descended upon the would be…assassin? Kidnapper?

A banshee cry shot out of Katara's throat as she flew. Teeth pulled back into a howl.

"Katara! Wait!" Azula shouted holding out a hand. Katara merely shrieked and brought the silver tray onto the back of Lu Ten's head.

Lu Ten groaned on the ground. The chattering of three children were running through his head. He cracked an eyelid. Then closed it again. The three of them were standing above him. And someone was starting to let out little hiccups of concern.

"I didn't mean to! I didn't mean to!" Someone was saying. The servant, he didn't recognize her voice. She sounded like she was going to start to cry. His head was aching. He wondered if he was concussed again. He was a navy man. So it wouldn't be the first time that a blow to the head brought him down.

"He's the second in line! Do you know what you did?! This is treason this is just blatantly treason! Do you know how much trouble you are in? Grandfather could have you executed at best! What were you thinking?!" Azula was pushing at Katara's thin shoulders. Zuko poked at Lu Ten's shoulder inquisitively, with his wooden training sword.

"You're going to go to prison! Or even worse! Do you know how hard it would be to serve me from prison?" Azula said, her anger was starting to leak off of her and affect Katara now.

"I was trying to save you both! A thank you Katara would be nice."

"Thank you? Thank you?! You just murdered our cousin!"

"I don't think he's actually dead." Zuko remarked. Lu Ten let out a little chuckle before sitting up. He rubbed the back of his head. He would have an egg sized knot back there for a few days. But there was no blood or squishy feeling. So he wasn't too concerned.

"It's alright Azula. I'm fine." The young man remained seated and gazed at the three children before him. He was about eye level with Azula now. She was relatively short so that made sense.

"Lu Ten! We're sorry! We've been trying to train our new pet. But she—" Lu Ten ruffled Azula's hair to snap her out of it. Her unease stopped. His grin was infectious.

"Azula thank you. But I'm fine. It was just a bump on the head. If anything I should be thanking this one. She jumped right in to defend you both. That took a lot of guts. What's your name little one?" Lu Ten turned to a suddenly shy Katara. She nervously rubbed her arm. Glancing down at the ground. She felt like a toddler in front of this older boy. He had a casual charm about him. A sense of grace and dignity that did not force itself upon another.

"Katara."

"A lovely name. Southern Water tribe right? I don't think I've ever met one before. Off the battle field that is. Probably for my own safety. If a little girl is this ferocious I doubt I would be able to defend myself against a full grown civilian." He held out a hand. She placed hers into his larger one. He easily enveloped her entire hand. He squeezed it and then gave her knuckles a little peck.

Katara felt her heart go pitter patter rapidly. Her entire face got hot and she actually giggled. She blinked in surprise, she had no idea where that came from. Zuko frowned a little at Katara, but then his attention turned back to Lu Ten. The young man had snapped up to his full height in between heart beats.

Lu Ten embraced Zuko and then rubbed the boy's head, just like he had done with Azula. Zuko's hair was pulled from it's top knot, the normally neat boy didn't seem to notice. He just had eyes for his cousin.

"Zuko! You're getting taller every day. And that sword. Is your father finally letting you learn how to fight? You're coming for my position aren't you?" Lu Ten easily joked with the oldest fire sibling. Zuko presented the wooden training sword with a broad grin. He took a few poses for Lu Ten's benefit. The military commander nodded his approval.

"And Azula…Our little historian. Still have your nose in all of those scrolls?"

"I do more then just read cousin." She responded rolling her eyes in irritation. "I am also rapidly learning how to be a proper fire bender."

"With a bit of help." Katara mumbled under her breath. Azula's hand cuffed the back of Katara's head sharply.

"Quite you."

"It's not nice to hit your pets Azula." Lu Ten said, suddenly serious. His eyes were firm but caring, a look that Katara had never seen in a fire nation royal before. Firm yes, but steel wrapped in silk? That was a new expression. Most of these fire nation royals wore their emotions so casually on their sleeves.

"I was just disciplining her cousin darling." Azula said with a forced sense of levity. Lu Ten rolled his eyes and then kneeled before Azula. He took her hands in his and studied them intently.

"These are good hands. You've got callouses on your fingertips. Are you pushing all of your fire out that way?" He asked impressed. Azula straightened up and squeezed his hands.

"It's how the professionals do it."

"And you are our little professional." Azula flushed at this slight praise. Her entire demeanor turning from a spoiled little princess into…someone rather love sick actually. Lu Ten stood up and grabbed one of the frozen towels from the floor. He hefted the frozen rolled tube and unrolled it. He pressed it to the back of his head, to ease the thrumming there.

"A water tribe pet that instantly jumps to my cousins' rescue. I think that I like you little one." Lu Ten picked the tray back up in one hand. It sat easily in his fingers. "And these frozen towels…How marvelous. They might actually help with training. I know that a lot of officers relax with a cool drink in a hot sauna. I wonder if the opposite is true in the colder climates. Maybe we should start using chilled towels in our exercise routines instead of moist warm ones." The young man was asking himself these questions before turning.

"Well? Come on you three. My father will be arriving shortly. He want's to have tea with your mother. You can come as well Katara. We may still need your protection." Zuko grinned at Katara and then raced after his much taller cousin. Azula snorted and started after the boy.

"I can protect myself Lu Ten! I can protect you too!" Azula shouted as she stomped along. Katara followed along behind her. One small hand pressed to her chest. She felt her heart going pitter patter very quick. He was certainly all that Azula had told her. Strong, handsome, inquisitive, and kind. He had a feline like grace about him, like a lion tiger lounging in sunlight.

Katara waved her hands in front of her face. Trying to fan the blush away. She sped up to keep up behind Azula. Azula spun around, still walking, but backwards now. Azula glared at Katara menacingly.

"I can protect myself and Lu Ten perfectly fine." She said threateningly. Katara smiled demurely and nodded.

"I never said you couldn't mistress Azula."

"And wipe that look off your face. There is no way that Lu Ten would be romanced by a pet of the fire nation."

"Look?" Katara asked in confusion. Azula tossed her hands up, as if she was surrounded by idiots.

"The same look Zuzu has whenever he looks at you! You know when you aren't looking? That soft eyed look. Like you just took a big whiff of fresh soup." Azula shook her head, these people were exhausting! Katara touched her chin. Did she have a look? She had better practice hiding that a bit more.

Then her face turned the color of fresh beets when she realized what Azula had said. About how Zuko looked at her. Whenever she wasn't paying attention.

The flames were crackling in the fire place. The torches danced in their sconces. The beads of sweat dripped down off of Ozai's broad chest. Plopping onto Kya's round chest. She gasped. Her ankles were beside her ears. Her toes were clawing at the air. Her hands were slapped to her ass cheeks. Trapped between her own ass and Ozai's strong body.

Every thrust of his hips crushed her fingers. Her strong biceps twitched. The pose they were in was difficult. Her spine was bent nearly entirely in half. Her gasping face was curled up in delight. Her lips popped and her spit was starting to drool down her cheek. Her eyes locked onto Ozai's. His tongue darted out and licked at his upper lip.

He then shoved his tongue down her throat. Kya did not suppress her groan. She let it carry and reverberate. She let him feel every last private portion of her mouth. His tongue bullied her's into submission. Then into obedience. And finally into a delighted domestication. Kya's eyes were wavering. Her vision was swirling with amazement.

The heat was making her drowsy. She had barely slept in two days. Her body was sore from working out. Her mind was soft from the lights mental massage. And now her womb was pinging it's joy. Sending out wave after wave of complete devotion to this dick. Her pleasure was pushing her to brand new heights of mental awareness.

"O-Ozai…My master Ozai." She let out a hiccup between their lips. She wiggled her hips instinctively. Bringing out another groan from his mouth. His eyes were shining with greed, his relentless pace was demanding more and more of her body.

And her body was eagerly climbing up to comply. It felt only right, her brain was shutting down from the pleasure. Reverting to that deepest and safest cavern. Somewhere in the primeval brain there lived a being of pure survival, of pure sexual deviance. A creature that was thrumming to be domesticated.

Kya used to deny herself this. She used to suppress that feeling. Tell it to slink away from her, to leave her be. But now she embraced it. In an attempt to do more then just survive in this strange foreign palace. She embraced the love making. And the pleasure said love making brought to her.

With a loud groan Ozai began to spasm inside of her. His cum was thick as a sauce and as rich as the ocean. Kya wiggled, trying to relax her legs and hips. Her knees popped and she for a brief moment felt numb from her toes to her fingertips. Her sensitive nipples were squashed by his body.

Ozai was huffing and grunting. His hips still moving. His ass cheeks clenched as he forced wad after thick wad of cum inside of Kya. She let out a sickened moan as he deposited his seed into her awaiting garden.

Only after he was done did he drag his dripping prick out of her sore pussy. She shivered, her legs still pressed far back. Her ass pointing upwards. Her pussy let a large droplet of his pearly white cum dribble out of her. She felt like a broken pump faucet. Her eyes stared upwards, half lidded from rapturous exhaustion.

Ozai scowled downwards. His default expression was one of emotional constipation. Like he was struggling deep in his chest with something. He stood and marched to the door. He flung it open to glare at the porter standing there.

The trembling man gazed down at Ozai's toes. Too cowed to make eye contact with the taller imposing figure.

"You've been hammering at that door for an hour now. What is it?" Ozai crisped out. His chin jutting out. His chest was still covered in lipstick smears. The porter stared downwards. His trembling not ending. A few droplets of cum creeped from Ozai's cock and splattered on their toes.

"For-Forgive me oh great Ozai. I was told to fetch you. Your brother and nephew have arrived. The fire Lord Azulon orders you to greet General Iroh right away—" The crack to the messengers face sent him staggering. Ozai let out a bellow and karate chopped the man's shoulders and gave him a kick to get him stumbling.

Kya instantly sat up in amazement. She had never seen Ozai this furious before. He had spun and marched back into the room. Grabbing a towel off of a chair he wiped aggressively at his face and chest. He clapped his hands. A gaggle of retainers came sprinting into the room. They moved around him, adjusting is hair. Putting a robe upon him. Tying his socks. Doing all the little things that a royal was not expected to do.

Ozai tossed Kya the towel. She grabbed it from the air in amazement.

"Clean yourself. And prepare to be bored senseless. My idiot brother and his son are here." Ozai scowled at Kya. She rubbed the used towel between her legs. Schlopping up as much of Ozai's love juices as she could. He had dribbled over her thighs and her aching cunt still throbbed from the insistence of his love making.

"You will be put to work while the two are here. And anticipate a few parties. If there is one thing that man likes to do it's eat." Ozai said disdainfully. Kya nodded and stood on shaky legs. She picked up her yellow loin cloth and attached it. The swooping sparrow moths upon the hem were poorly stitched, but a lovely addition. She was just grateful to have more then one outfit to wear all the time. She pulled her hair into the ceremonial worker's top knot.

Ozai stared at her. A devilish grin spread across his face. Kya gulped and stared down respectfully.

"I believe that you and Iroh will have much to discuss while here. You are to listen for me. Be my ears. And bring me his information." Ozai ordered before leaving with a dramatic flourish. Kya followed after. She shivered, imaginings the man that would inherit the throne. From how Ozai described him….He did not seem like a pleasant choice.

Katara stared down at the pieces to the board game critically. She raised a hand. Moved the piece slowly. Rethought the move. And then decided upon it. Lu Ten sat across from her with a grin. He then moved his piece and easily captured hers. Azula snorted, it was her turn now.

The board was specially designed to admit up to six players at once. Originally it was only meant to hold two, but this added more conflict and complications. With multiple different outcomes and maybe even more then one winner. It also meant that creating teams was tougher. The practical level was also this, everyone had fought over who got to be on Lu Ten's team.

This meant that there were no favorites.

Zuko adjusted his tile and managed to swamp Lu Ten's defense's with a few well placed tiles. He grinned hopefully up at his now stoic cousin. Lu Ten nodded in agreement. And then proceeded to get the rest of Zuko's tiles in a well coordinated attack.

The next few rounds went rapidly. And ended with only Azula and Lu Ten still on the board. The two were studying the next few moves carefully. Katara glanced between one and the other. Lu Ten was frowning and stroking his chin. He was taking the entire act seriously. Katara couldn't tell if that was a mark for or against him. Azula was smirking confidently. Her trap was well set.

And then Lu Ten flawlessly circumvented it and took the remainder of her tiles. Azula shot up and slammed her hands down on the table. She leaned forward with a scowl.

"Best of fifteen!" She shouted. Lu Ten chuckled and held his hands up in surrender.

"If we did that we would be stuck here all day Azula. Besides it is always wise to go out on top. Never waste a victory."

"Stop talking like your father's proverbs and finish fighting me!" Azula demanded of the older boy. Lu Ten crossed his arms and put on a deep fake scowl.

"Is that any way to talk to the heir to the fire nation?" Katara started. Lu Ten's voice sounded remarkably like his grandfather's. She actually could see a bit of Azulon about Lu Ten's face and eyebrows. But his jaw was wider, and his nose slightly broader. A very handsome nose it was.

Katara felt her cheeks heat up again. She had never thought that a nose could be handsome. She had spent her entire life thinking that a nose was merely a nose.

"Did you see fire Lord Azulon?" Zuko asked Lu Ten with a nervous look over his shoulder. As if he expected his grandfather to be there suddenly.

"Yes. He insisted that father and I meet him the moment we arrived at the palace. He hasn't left his wing of the palace for some time has he?"

"He has once or twice." Zuko said and stared at Katara. She touched the tip of her nose. It was completely healed, but she still sometimes felt the ache where she had been backhanded.

"I'm hungry, is anyone hungry?" Lu Ten said changing the subject. He clapped his hands. Hama and a fellow server stood up from where they had been kneeling politely in the background. Katara hadn't even noticed them. The two had been like statues. Or furniture, she scolded herself. She had to keep an eye out for everything. She couldn't just ignore someone when they were still.

"I would have some chilled rice with fire flakes, a trio of those dried fishes from breakfast. And any sort of citrus juice, with extra pulp." Lu Ten ordered with a smile to the women.

"Azula are you still eating cherries faster then a bat lemur?" Lu Ten said to the little girl. Azula stiffened and gulped. Her eyes cast down for a moment.

"Yes." She snapped out quickly. Lu Ten grinned and gestured towards her.

"A bowl of cherries and strawberries for her. Zuko?"

"What he is having." Zuko said nodding towards his cousin. His eyes were filled with utter adortion.

"Katara?" Katara started, she didn't know that she was to be included. Her mouth popped open for a moment. She felt like a fish out of water, stupid, unsure, confused. Then her owners saved her.

"Diced fruit over chopped ice." Zuko piped up.

"Drizzled with fire honey. And no papaya." Azula added. Katara glanced between the two in surprise. The servant bowed and quickly shuffled away to place the order. Katara smiled at the two. Her collar caught the sun.

"Thank you." She didn't know why but them ordering food for her…It felt kind. It felt kind in a strange way. But still kind. One good thing about living here was that she didn't have to reflect upon what she ate. Food was provided. She didn't have a choice in the matter. If anything it left her mind open to think on other things.

Food was such a necessary part of survival in the south. You always had to be thinking about it. But not here. It was freeing in a strange sense.

The food was brought and eaten. Azula demonstrated her fire bending for Lu Ten. As did Zuko. One was far superior to the other. Katara gave a massage to Azula who dozed briefly under the water tribe girl's fingers. Lu Ten and Zuko both requested a massage afterwards. Katara's wrists were aching by the end. And that was how Iroh found them.

The clicking of wooden sandals filled the hallway. And Iroh walked out and sat down beside his son with the casual grace of a well portioned fat man.

"Uncle!" Zuko shot up from his seat and embraced the old man with a broad grin. Iroh chuckled and squeezed back. He held out an arm for Azula. She glanced at him briefly out of the corner of her eye then put her chin back down. She was staring out at the garden and ignoring him. Iroh dropped his arm with a bit of an annoyed look.

"Father. This is Katara. She is from the South pole." Lu Ten said presenting Katara to the old man. Iroh turned to her. She studied him shyly. So this was the heir to the fire nation. The old man who would one day sit on the throne. Ozai's older brother.

"It is very nice to meet you young lady." Iroh said formally. He bowed his head respectfully. Katara didn't know what to do so she curtsied awkwardly.

"Master lord." She said as formally as she could. Iroh chuckled at that and waved it off.

"Lord Iroh if you must. Or Master Iroh. But Iroh would also be appropriate."

"No it wouldn't be. She is our pet. And she needs to be reminded where she stands." Azula said forcefully. Katara threw a glare at the other girl. She was always so…so…so contradictory! One moment she was considerate. Kind even. And then the next she was cruel and just plain mean!

"Azula." Ursa said warningly. She entered behind Iroh. Kya followed with a tray carrying some tea. The two mothers sat beside Iroh and Kya handed out cups of tea to the royal family. Iroh deeply inhaled his. He sighed and then took a little sip. Lu Ten performed the same movements. Zuko watched carefully and then imitated the two older men.

"I suppose that my brother shall be-"

"Joining you Iroh." Ozai said from behind Iroh. Ursa and Azula stiffened. Zuko glanced into his cup. Iroh pulled himself upwards. A smile splitting his features.

"Ozai!" He bellowed deep in his stomach. The short fat general embraced the taller thinner man. Ozai let out an oof as Iroh picked him off of the ground. Ozai's eyes bugged out of their sockets. Katara stared in amazement. She had never seen the fire royal look so…so…so goofy before! Ozai scowled at Iroh's grin. The two could not have been any different. And yet Iroh was treating Ozai with nothing short of sibling familiarity.

"This is delightful. To have the entire family here together again." Iroh said as he picked up his cup. He took his sip and sighed. "To think we have been on campaign for so long. I can't even recall the last time that I got to sit down and relax over…is this jasmine?"

"Only your favorite of course." Ursa reassured him. Iroh smiled back and took a deeper sip.

"How goes the campaign uncle?" Azula asked with interest. She sat up at the mention of the military. Iroh sighed and rubbed his face. His smile dropped for a moment. A smaller one took it's place.

"The battles are hard won. The earth kingdom's are a proud people. They do not bend easily. But we have found a few way's to defeat them. For example they leave their women at home. Only men can serve in their armies. Attacking their farms and homes directly meet with minimal resistance. And this leads to a strong emotional leverage."

"So you attack unarmed women and children in their homes?" Katara said in shock. Kya twisted Katara's ear quickly. She turned to Iroh and bowed quickly.

"Forgive my daughter sir she—"

"Is curious. A noble trait to possess." Iroh said with an affectionate smile. He turned to address Katara directly. "A military battle is not always fought between equal sides. My job as the commander is to end the conflict as quickly as possible. This means doing things that are not always honorable. Tell me girl, what is bigger 5 or 10?"

"10?" Katara ventured.

"So if I must capture or kill 5 people to save 10 that would be good wouldn't it? If I had my troops exclusively attack another army and both sides suffered casualties that would be bad. But if my troops attack and defeat an easier enemy then that would be better. Since fewer people would be hurt. It is about putting less hurt into this world."

"We won't be in the farm lands for much longer though. Father is making strides towards the great walls of Ba Sing Se. If we are lucky those walls will be breached and the war will be over before we know it." Lu Ten said confidently. "It will be wonderful. I've always been curious about the interior of the earth kingdom's capital. And you three will be seeing more once the palace is safely in fire nation hands."

"We will?" Zuko asked in surprise.

"Of course. Someone will have to delegate and domesticate the earth kingdom right?" Lu Ten asked with a grin. "So it would be between your father or me."

"We would need to move to the earth kingdoms?" Zuko turned to his mother. Ursa took a sip and glanced at Ozai who was stroking his chin in thought. His goatee was slick with oils and perfume.

"That is at the discretion of the Fire Lord. Ultimately we will go where we are needed." Ursa said carefully.

"More tea?" Hama said as she walked up to the sitting family. Iroh turned and got up with another smile on his face.

"Hama my sweet. Still keeping the palace functioning after all these years?" He took her hand and gave it a kiss on the knuckles. Hama smiled coyly at the man. He deftly took the silver tray from her hands. Even going so far as to shove it into Ozai's surprised hands.

"Your duty is to your nation. My duty is to this household." Hama responded as Iroh brought her in for a hug and a peck to the cheek.

"Duty, that is all this nation speaks of. Where is the time for duty when I could be spending time drinking your tea. And admiring that light in your eyes?" Iroh spoke with soft sincerity to the old woman.

Hama chuckled and patted his chest affectionately.

"Still ever the charmer. My my my lord, you've lost weight. I thought that they were feeding you on campaign? No matter, you still enjoy grilled iguana duck do you not? I will have two roasted for your bedchambers tonight."

"And is that the only thing I can expect in my bedchamber tonight?" Iroh flirted with the now blushing servant.

"Really Iroh show some decorum." Ozai snarled as he crashed the tray to the floor. Iroh released Hama and sat back down next to his brother.

"Decorum is what mother insisted upon whenever you got too angry." Iroh responded. He then poured another cup for himself.

Katara stared at Iroh in fascination. She found she rather liked him. And Lu Ten. The two of them had a warmth that was so lacking within the other royals. An ease that made you put down your guard. And permit them to lead you. She sat up straighter and pulled her shoulders back. Trying to compose her face. Trying to look a little more respectable. She didn't want Azula to get mad again.

Katara glanced at Zuko out of the corner of her eye. Trying to see what face he was making. Trying to see if she had on a similar one when she stared at Lu Ten. She didn't get much of Zuko's face. But she did see Lady Ursa. Whose own eyes were soft, relaxed, at ease. The lines at the side of her mouth were gone. And she was staring directly at Kya. Katara didn't know what to make of that.

"Shall we be seeing father at the celebration in a few days?" Ozai asked Iroh. Iroh chuckled and shrugged.

"Knowing him he shall remain in his throne room brooding. However we shall have to entertain everyone else all the more for it." Iroh responded. Kya and Katara exchanged a confused look.

"Celebration?" Zuko asked Lu Ten. Lu Ten rolled his eyes before smirking at Ursa.

"You didn't warn them?"

"It was meant to be a surprise." She muttered in irritation. "We are celebrating your cousin and uncle returning safely from the front. We shall be inviting some of the elite to attend. Including Ukano and his wife and daughter, and the Ty family—"

"Ty Lee and Mai are coming?" Azula said with a raised eyebrow. "I normally only see them at school. This should be interesting."

"Yes. Interesting indeed." Ozai was stroking his beard again. Deep in thought.

Sokka sprinted. His small hands balled into fists. His breath coming out in great billowing clouds. The knife banged against his knee. Polar bear dog cove was the furthest port before wolf cove. It lead out towards the earth kingdom. It was frequently raided. Which was why it was soon to be abandoned. This was the final ship leaving. If she had gone anywhere she had gone here.

The trading ship that was starting to pull off through the ice flow chugged along. A few workers pulling at the paddles. Pushing ice out of the way. The open bay and then the southern sea opened up before it.

Sokka felt his lungs tighten. He ran faster. He stumbled, fell, scrambled up and sprinted some more. The abandoned town opened around him. Igloo's left to rot, old tents flapping in the breeze, one or two yurts that had been erected by traders now only held snow hamsters. The fire nation raids were becoming too frequent.

A trading hub this close to the water was bound to get bombarded by the enemy. Sokka ran along the side of the canal. The gruff faced men, earth kingdom traders, wealthy south pole tribesmen, one or two older warriors. They stared at the little boy numbly. A mother was holding her sickly child to her. The two were going for a better life, war refugees, who had given everything in the vague hope that they would find relief somewhere.

"June!" Sokka shouted into the throng that ringed the railing. The raven haired beauty elbowed her way through, past the bigger men. She stood at the railing and stared at the little blushing boy. Nyla poked her snout out from June's parka. The creature let out a little hiss at the cold and then ducked back against her owner's bosom.

"Please June! Don't leave me!" Sokka shouted. She began to walk down the deck. Sokka ran to keep up with the boat. They were just barely keeping pace with each other. Sokka's words came out in a thick wave of emotion. His eyes were wide and pleading.

"My mom and sister are gone! My dad is dead! My clan needs help! Please! You promised to teach me how to fight! I need your help!" The young woman smirked and shook her head.

"Sokka…I can't give you what you need. Even if I wanted to. I'm not your sister. I'm not your mommy. I can't help you get over this. I taught you everything that I could. I'm a bounty hunter. Not a warrior. I can teach you how to hurt someone, but not how to defeat them in a fair fight." Sokka stumbled over some ice and gazed at her.

June held out a hand with a crow like smile.

"Come on. Jump. Join me. Leave this place. We can travel the earth kingdom. Hunting people down. Making money. Forget this place, your sister, your mother, your father, your gran gran. Leave. I can't promise you a better life. But I can promise you something different." Sokka strained, he looked at her glove. She had stolen it when she left.

Sweat was beading down his cheeks and freezing. Like sharp little tear drops pricking his face. Sokka shook his head and stopped. The boat continued to move. June walked along, keeping pace with him.

"No. I can't leave. Not yet. My tribe needs me. My family need me." He gripped the knife she had gifted him. He yanked it from it's sheath and held it up. The sunlight caught the cruel metal and flashed it at the crew.

"I swore to save my sister. I swore to save my mother. I swore to avenge my father. I swore to kill the fire lord. I will do this." Sokka shouted to June. She smirked and leaned forward.

"Do it then! I can't make you strong Sokka. But you can become strong. So get stronger kid. Fight harder. Save your mother! Save your sister! Avenge your father! Kill the fire lord!"

"I will!" Sokka shouted. His voice cracked. The boat had made it to the bay and began to depart. A water tribe mam snorted and then pushed himself beside June.

"You? You'll kill the fire lord?" June elbowed him right in the throat and glared down at the choking man.

"If he say's he will he will do it. So do it Sokka!"

"I will!" A man beside June caught the ember and shouted with June on the next one.

"Do it! Kill the fire lord!"

"I will!"

"Do it!"

"I will! I will! I WILL!" Sokka held his knife up. The chant had echoed around the boat. A bunch of different passengers were yelling it back at the small boy. Sokka stood at the end of the ice flow. His knife held. His eyes steady. The wind whipped around him. Teasing his top knot. He took a deep breath.

"I will." He swore. He didn't know how. He didn't know when. But he would. One day he was going to leave the south pole and fulfill his promise. Until then though? He would get stronger.

Review. Faster updates for this and other stories if this and other stories get more reviews. Would love to see art work of this or any of my other work. Faster reviews for my other less popular stories means that more updates at a faster pace. Or just more stories like this one.

Also any requests in reviews will probably be ignored.

Also just to be clear. I do not do pedophilia, all characters are aged up in this stuff or aged down depending on the character, no loli, no yaoi, no shota, I don't do watersports (Shit/Piss/fart fetish shit)I don't do stuff like vore or entire bodies getting shoved into places (Shrink play) I don't do blood play or torture (Ball/cock crushing etc) or certain old people, (Yes I am a fucking hypocrite) . Also if you ask for something in reviews that normally means I won't do it. So anyone who asks for that will be disappointed. If you have questions/requests/suggestions PM me instead.

Also have an ao3 account under the same name. and same titles.
