Chapter 26: Party

After the award ceremony was over, people left the stadium to celebrate the rest of the day at home. On his way out Izuku saw Mei showing off her UV gun to several 1B and 1A members. They were eagerly exchanging phone numbers. That was concerning.

"Hey, Hatsume-san, a word?" He pulled her away from the small crowd.

"Sure. I'm always glad to be around famous people." Green head looked around and noticed people staring at him.

"Will my new suit protect me from those blasters you were using?"

"No." She smiled innocently.

"Why?"

"Because it is impossible to make the fabric any more efficient at absorbing, but it is possible to make more condensed rays." She caressed her weapon.

"Did Yaoyorozu ask you to make that?"

"We worked together on this baby. She came up with idea and materials; I made the schematics and then put everything together."

"Great!" Izuku clenched his fist. "After today half of heroics course will request an anti-ME gun!"

"Can you blame them? You are Number One right now." There was no hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"I guess not. Still, it is pretty annoying."

"We should make the clever girl pay!"

"Agreed. Time to pull out the flesh buds!"

Momo organized a party at her home to celebrate getting third place in the end. Everyone from 1A was invited, but Shoto couldn't come due to being summoned by Hound Dog and Tenya had urgent family matters. The remaining students got into the limo and drove to Yaomomo's family mansion. The sight of the house shocked everyone except Kyoka and Mezou. Uraraka fainted moments after exiting the car.

The house itself was a giant labyrinth with luxurious looking corridors. Students gathered in the game room, where they could enjoy pool, darts, karaoke and other forms of entertainment. The maids were bringing all sorts of delicious food on demand. After a few hours, Kyoka came with a guitar and made a small rock concert for the class. Shouji noticed that while all of that was happening, Midoriya and Yaomomo left the room for quite a while. They ended missing the whole show.

After the concert was over, pale Izuku came into the room with a devious smile on his face. He demanded that everyone would give him their phones, as he didn't want this to spread too far. Some people argued against this, but ultimately everyone agreed. Yaoyorozu came into the room dressed in a chicken costume. On Izuku's command, she danced like a chicken while making appropriate noises for 5 minutes. Reactions on this varied: Midoriya, Ashido and Bakugo were laughing out loud; Uraraka and Hagakure barely contained their giggles; Asui and Tokoyami were keeping up poker faces; Jirou and Shouji were terrified of what would happen next; all the servants left even before the dance started to avoid potential fallout.

5 minutes were up. Izuku destroyed the flesh bud inside of Momo's skull. She regained control, looked at herself and the audience, and then ran off to her room crying.

"Midoriya, what just happened?" Bird head asked.

"I wanted to prank Yaoyorozu as revenge for spreading her UV gun idea to the head of support course."

"But how exactly did you do it?"

"Vampires can mind control humans with their hair follicles."

"Okay, that totally makes sense."

"Why didn't you use this ability during the Festival then?" Tooru joined the interrogation.

"It takes time, about 60 seconds* to properly attach the mind controlling agent. And that's assuming target doesn't move their head too much in the process. Unlike Shinsou, this isn't applicable during a fight."

"Where did you get that silly suit?"

"I just asked her to make one."

"Midoriya, I think you went too far with this prank, kero. I've never seen Momo-chan so distraught before."

"I didn't think she'd react so badly. She didn't react at all when Kacchan was mind controlled. Besides, I specifically took all you phones to prevent this from spreading out."

"Deku-kun, you should go and apologize to her."

"*Sigh* Yeah, I'll go."

"We'll go with you." Rocker walked forward with giant. "To make sure you're not half assing."

"And to see what she can do when she is pissed."

The trio went to Momo's room. It was a little surprising that earphone girl was able to navigate this maze of a house so well. Genius wasn't crying anymore. Instead she sat on her bed and stared at the wall opposite to the room entrance.

"Yaomomo-chan, I'm sorry! I didn't you would react so badly! It was just a harmless joke."

"No, it's fine. Midoriya. I just… need some time to recover." She sounded calm.

"Are you sure? You're not mad at me?"

"No. If anything, I've learnt from you today. Now, could you please leave the room? I need to talk to Shouji-san and Jirou-san."

Izuku left the room. Momo patted the bed part near her, as if she wanted them to sit close. They sat on her left and right sides.

"I'm deeply sorry! I shouldn't have threatened you!" She pulled them for a hug and started crying again.

"What?" They were both confused.

"I appreciate the apology, but why now?"

"When Midoriya put his parasite in me, I could still see and hear everything, but was powerless to stop it. I completely lost autonomy, it was horrifying!" She made a tissue to wipe her tears. "I now know how you felt. I am a terrible person! I don't deserve to have you!"

"Not exactly how it felt for me, but I guess it's close enough."

"Calm down, please." Mezou put his hand on her shoulder. "You're not that bad of a person. Sure, you can be scary and annoying sometimes but you're also supportive and encouraging. My grades wouldn't be as high without you."

"Yeah! If not for you, I wouldn't be rocking my guitar right now! I really needed that confidence boost from you."

"*Sniff* Really, you're not mad at me?"

"Not mad, more like irritated. Besides, you did apologize. Just promise to not play the "Intimidation" card again and we will collectively leave that in the past."

"*Sniff* Promise"

"Pinky swear?" Kyoka smiled.

Raven haired girl made a pinky swear with both hands, one for each side. Her partners leaned to kiss her cheeks, making her blush.

"Let's go back to partying, Yaomomo!"

"Let's."

Author's note: I thought about Izuku or Nezu confronting Momo about her behavior, but the idea of Izuku accidentally teaching her a lesson through unrelated revenge pranking was too funny for me to pass up.

Also, the 60 seconds activation is an arbitrary rule I put just so Izuku couldn't mind control every enemy within stopped time. One touch wins are more of Killer Queen's specialty.
