The future isn't the blank page most people believe it to be. It's not a clean slate waiting to be written upon, or an expanse of fresh snow that has yet to be trodden. Rather, it's a jumble of conflicting possibilities, awaiting the decisions that will set a more stable path forward.

Every decision made, no matter how small, creates more possibilities. Many never come to pass and simply wither away, unexplored, while other, more important choices might give rise to a parallel timeline, an alternate universe.

Only a Time Lord can see all possible futures. It's a dizzying sight.
