Chapter 64- Mountain top Battle

Time: 20:00

Location: Ametrine Mountain

It the cold air was permeating through the air; the sun was practically set. The day had been long, between getting the Ruby Ring stolen. Finding and rescuing Heather from being locked in Blake's shed. Percival, Shelly, and Lucille had regrouped right at the cave before the summit. Cal, Heather, and Marie were all in the sky ready to fight off against Team Meteor's Air unit.

"Okay so the summit should just be up ahead." Percival said to Shelly and Lucille. "This won't be an easy fight, you guys ready?"

"Yes!" Shelly determined cheered. It was time for a fight, a fight that they couldn't fail.

"I—" Before Lucille could say anything she was interrupted as someone yelled for her name.

"LUCILLE!" A voice ran out through the cave. Shelly inadvertently shuddering from the voice. Percival and Lucille stared as a Meteor member came running up, it was one they knew.

"Aster…" Lucille could barely mutter out his name, remembering to the horrific sight of Eclipse's soul being burned away.

"I finally caught… up to you! Look! I have something you want!" Aster out of breath shouted, holding onto some sort of Disc, a Technical Machine. "It's for waterfall. You nodded this, right? Then fight me!"

Lucille tightened her fist… Aster had come here for a reason, if it was to stop then, then it was her responsibility to take Aster on. "Percival, Shelly goes on ahead."

"Wh-what?" Shelly said surprised.

"…" Percival silently met Lucille's eyes, as if warning her.

"It won't be like last time I told you to go without me. Besides I have Hope." Lucille flashed a bright smile.

"You know, I never thought you might use her name as a pun…" Percival smirked, this wasn't the time to wait. "Catch up as soon as you can. I have faith in your ability."

"All right," Shelly nodded her head as well, giving her belief to Lucille. "I'll go too! For everyone!"

"Thanks." Lucille said in response. Lucille's gaze landing on the Meteor Ace.

Aster was stopped, patiently waiting for Lucille to meet his gaze. Slightly out of breath. "Come on! What are you waiting for?!"

"…" Lucille breathed. Aster probably hated her, regardless of Lucille's ability to prevent Eclipse's death… Lucille knew this was a fight she couldn't afford to lose. "Hope and I are waiting for you."

"…" The white beast with a black horn from her head was silent as she was released from her pokeball. Her red eye ready to lock onto her opponent.

"…" Aster flinched slightly seeing the Absol. Thinking back to the only other Absol user he knew. He knew that Lucille was giving her all… "Solrock Come out!"

"Sol!" the orange yellow, eight-pointed rock sun appeared.

"Night Slash." Lucille calmly said taking no chances for this battle. Hope moved in unison with her voice, the black horn glowing darker with energy. Slashing down on the Solrock it was instantly taken out.

"Gh…" Aster's first Pokémon was taken out instantly, barely a second to call out an attack or move. "Passimian!"

"Mian!" The powerful Lemur appeared from its pokeball ready to fight. While Aster had tried to increase his defenses with Solrock. His next attempt was to power through with a bulky and strong fighting type.

"Play rough." Lucille affirmed with her Absol.

Hope the twin of Grim. Two Absol's with their own unique move sets. Grim from time of birth was always instinctually able to use Mega horn. While Hope was another story, with a Fairy attack. Hope swiftly took out Aster's second Pokémon. "…"

"…" Aster looked furious as his second Pokémon was yet again taken out… He knew that Nero's Absol was special, he also heard that his sisters would be the same… But he didn't expect Lucille to have it yet. Aster thought trying to figure out to take out the Pokémon before him, he wasn't fast enough with any of his first two Pokémon. His Golurk was obviously going to have the same fate as Solrock. So, he took out his next. "Krookodile!"

The red and black sand crocodile appeared for Hope's next opponent. Krookodile was Aster's fastest Pokémon. If any of his team had a chance to out speed Hope, it was this one. "Kroo…"

"…" Hope stared back at the Krookodile, glare meeting glare.

"Krookodile let's take this out fast! Outrage!" Aster shouted, and the red beast charged.

"Hope Play Rough." Lucille repeated.

Normal Absol's wouldn't even have the chance to match the speed of a Krookodile. But Hope wasn't a normal Absol, she was an Absol of the Mark… with that being said, Hope was far faster and stronger than normal. Aster never saw the full strength of Grim. Mainly because Nero disliked relying on him too much. So, Aster never expected that Hope was faster than Krookodile…

"Krookodile…" Another of Aster's Pokémon was down for the count.

"…" Lucille was silent as she watched Aster. She felt bad… She didn't want to fight. But aster certainly did…

"…" Aster's breath quickened. "Lycanroc!" this fourth Pokémon was Aster's signature mon. Lycanroc Midnight.

"… Night slash." Lucille muttered once more, and again Hope filled her horn with Energy of the night and slashed down on the Lycanroc. Once more taking out Aster's Pokémon.

"RGH…" Aster groaned once more, before muttering in a low voice. "Eclipse—I'm sorry."

"…" Lucille lost her focus as she saw the next Pokémon that Aster had sent out. It was another Lycanroc… but this was not Aster's. it was Eclipse's.

"Brick break!" Aster shouted while Lucille was still in her stupor. Giving the Lycanroc the ability to land a heavy attack on Hope.

"Ah…" Lucille caught her breath and her focus, "Hope Night slash!"

"Arroo!" Hope howled as she was hit with the brick Break, she immediately countered with her Night slash.

"Grr…" Unlike before this Lycanroc managed to force its way past the damage… But one more attack would take it down.

"S-stop…" Aster seeing the state of Eclipse's Lycanroc called it's back. He repeated… "Eclipse—I'm sorry… I've tried my best… but it's never enough…" Wiping away the forming tears, aster took the machine and threw at Lucille. "There. As promised. Pretend you took it from me by force…"

"Thanks." Lucille said with a low smile.

"Or consider it a gift from Eclipse…" Aster mumbled. "I don't know if that's what she would have wanted. I don't even know if it's right. But I feel better now." Swirling in Aster's mind was a bunch of ideals from Team Meteor, and Eclipse. "She always talked about changing the world. I was just taking orders… But since she's gone, I've been thinking about it." Aster sighed, resigning an ideal that he believed in. "The world really does need to change. Just not the way Team Meteor's doing it. I thought if I could beat you—Maybe, once, If I used all of my strength, and eclipse's too—Maybe I could be the one to fix everything… But it looks like that it's your job." Aster turned away from Lucille. "I'm signing out. Good luck… With everything. I'll see you around."

While that battle of Aster vs Lucille was underway. At the summit there stood a man in blue looking over the mountain face looking for his team. "Any second now…"

"Oh? Were you trying to calculate our arrival? How kind of you, Blake." Another voice rang out. It was from a boy with white hair, next to him was a young girl with purple hair.

"You know you're pretty annoying." Blake grimaced as he saw the faces of Shelly and Percival.

"Please, I know others who far more annoying than myself." Percival said with a fake grin, he was certainly annoyed with Blake's antics himself. "Shelly, I know we're supposed to do this together. But I'm still steaming at his hospitality from earlier. If you don't mind?"

"You sure…" Shelly said somewhat dejected.

"Don't get the wrong idea Shelly. I'm counting on you to pick up my slack." Percival responded to her. {Author Translation: The author doesn't want to deal with having to juggle My team and your team against Blake's.} with an affirmed nod form Shelly.

"You're still steaming huh? Why don't you just chill out instead!" Blake said annoyed the two. Sending out a long blue dragon and a giant brown ball of fur with two white tusks. A Gyarados and a Mamoswine.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I rather dislike the cold." Percival said, sending out two Pokémon of his own. One was a giant prehistoric grey dragon, Aeros, Percival's Aerodactyl. The other one was small brown creature with green leaves growing on it, Vee, Percival's Leafeon. "Quick and strong! Aeros Rockslide! Vee Leaf blade on Mamoswine!"

Even despite the intimidating presence of the Gyarados. Percival's two Pokémon with their speed caught Blake's off guard. Aeros in the high mountain, and icy terrain hit both Mamoswine, and critically hitting the ever so giant Gyarados. With the Gyarados down Vee had no fear of a surprise attack, with her forehead leaf glowing green she slashed down on the Mamoswine, a blow that no matter the odds wouldn't have been able to take.

"…" Blake was speechless as his Pokémon were taken out so quickly.

"Don't take me lightly, Blake." Percival said, smiling but it wasn't one that reached his eyes. "You may have gotten me with a surprise attack earlier. But you won't succeed with that again."

"Ugh… You gonna bore me with your life story too? I'm really not interested, but hey these two might. Weavile! Starmie! Take this brat out!" Blake rolled his eyes; the tone Percival had been giving off was really something like that. Upon its appearance the grey bodied weasel with the red claw broke off a shard of ice launching it into Aeros.

"Ar…" It pierced into Aero's wing, causing him to quickly lose altitude.

"Aeros Iron Head, Weavile!" Percival yelled, Aeros bringing its wings to its chest, lowering his head into a nose dive right into the Weavile. Seeing the cold air forming around the star Pokémon, Percival quickly called for Vee. "Oh, not again, Vee Leaf blade once more!"

"Leaf!" Again, the leaf sprouting from her forehead started to glow green. Again, with a single swipe of its blade did Blake's Pokémon fall.

"Are you kidding me…" Blake muttered as another pair of his Pokémon were taken out.

"You know Blake, since I've gotten too Reborn. I've met some real assholes. One that proved to be worse than my own brother. Another has proven that as well, standing right before me." Percival said eyes glaring at Blake.

"Yeah, I don't care. Walrien, Sandslash!" Blake getting more and more annoyed sent out his next two Pokémon. The blue ice hedgehog, and a giant blue walrus. The Alolan Sandslash inside this snowy mountain, was in its home territory, quickly moving through the snow and ice as if it wasn't even there. "Rockslide!"

"Slash!" The Sandslash cried forming many icy rocks crashing down onto Vee and Aeros. The attack wasn't something Aeros could take, and Vee Barely making out of it herself.

"Vee! Leaf Blade!" Percival called, where Vee slashed into the Walrien. Though the blubber on the beast caused it to barely feel a thing as an avalanche of ice landed on Vee.

"About fucking time. Could you just lose already, and stop being a pest?" Blake gave a sigh of relief as two of Percival's Pokémon finally fell.

"You know, like yours my brother is an expert in Fire types. A good portion of my team is rather weak to fire types as well. But from that, I've also learned how to deal with the types Fire is good against. Like your Ice Types. Oracle, Steel!" Percival called. A fox with red and orange fur appeared, wielding a wand with a flame at the end of it, this was Oracle, Percival's Delphox. The other the huge hulking metal beast, the blue metal with a silver x across it's face, Percival's ace Pokémon, Steel the Metagross.

"Tch, Great… Sandslash Earthquake!" Blake yelled and the mountaintop started to shake, causing the Pokémon on the field to crash around, even into each other. Walrien wasn't one to escape from this either.

"Nice try, but it will take more than that to take my team out." Percival said, Oracle and Steel still standing strong. "Oracle Flamethrower, Steel Hammer arm."

"Delph!" Hold the stick wand out toward the Sandslash, the small flame flickered as Delphox blew out a torrent of flame engulfing the Sandslash.

"Me… TA!" All the while Steel angered over the one who took out Vee. Slamming its heavy blue arm down on the Walrien taking it out.

"Do even understand why you lost?" Percival said staring at Blake. "You say you're fighting for what? Yourself, try fighting for someone else. I tried what you did, I only got myself burned. Disowned by my own family. So, I'm fighting for the friends who did their best to pick me up when I fell."

"Cool story, bro." Blake said rolling his eyes as he returned his Pokémon to their pokeball. Hearing a whirring of blades nearby. "Not that it matters, though. I can hear them coming."

Fwip Fwip Fwip.

Hovering on the side of the mountain top was a helicopter. It was there to pick Blake up.

"But Percival won the battle, right? Doesn't that mean you have to give us the Ring?" Shelly yelled out as Blake started to walk towards the Helicopter.

"Do you honestly think you can just walk away from here?" Percival said, his two Pokémon still outside of their pokeballs.

"Yeah, you gonna stop me?" Blake taunted.

"Most certainly." It wasn't Percival's voice but the voice of a young girl. "Salamance, it's taken down time!"

"Franklin Thunderbolt!" Came a shout from Percival's younger sister, followed by a bolt of lightning from a Fan-form Rotom. Riding on the same Pokémon as the other girl.

"Ugh!" Blake didn't expect the attack from the blue dragon with red wings, getting knocked back. Blake didn't further expect a follow up attack from an orange dragon with a flame on its tail.

"Got the ring!" the one on the Charizard, Cal called as he and his Charizard flapped in the air.

"…" Blake glared at his brother as he took his bearings. "Hey, oaf-head, what the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

"I'm setting things right." Cal responded, he was done with his mistakes, done with Team Meteor.

"Jesus Fucking—Christ!" Blake shouted in frustration. Nearly getting hit by the Thunderbolt himself. "I get it already!"
"Here. This is yours." Cal tossed the ring to Heather. "Keep it safe.

"Don't have to tell me twice." Heather called back to Cal; this ring was important to her. This was something she wouldn't give up.

"All right, you all can do that." Blake said jumping into the Helicopter. I, for one, am getting the fuck out of here."
"Hey, wait a minute!" Shelly called out.

"What?!" Blake really just wanting to run away yelled.

"What about Agate? Wasn't the sleep spell on Agate supposed to be controlled from up here?" Shelly called, that was one of the reasons for their being here… but they've seen nothing like that.

"That? I don't have a clue about that." Blake said as if it was obvious. "Whoever told you that probably just baited you hard. Anyway, I'm blowin' this popsicle stand. See ya!"

With that the helicopter flew away, leaving the group to themselves. It was around this time, Lucille caught up. Though seeing everyone calm it meant they had succeeded.
"Should we go after them?" Lucille called out still slightly worried about the aspects of everything.

"No point." Cal said, Blake had lost. It would his failure would be causing his standing in Meteor to fall. "He's just an annoyance. And Solaris didn't even show his face."

"But we did succeed." Percival said, it's the victories that they could take without loss ere the best.

"We also got Waterfall, so we can go save Amaria and Titania soon." Lucille said handing the TM to Percival.

"Thanks for the ride heather, it was a blast causing such a storm." Marie said hopping off the Salamance.

"No problem… But thanks for your help too… Everyone." Heather said, thanking everyone who came to help.

"Of course. But I'm not finished yet." Cal called.

"Definitely." Heather nodded as well. "Hey! I'm gonna go get the rest of the food out to the people of Ametrine, but I'll catch up with you guys later!"

Shelly immediately called to Heather when she heard that. "Oh! I wanna help!"

"Aya aye!" Heather smiled, "You can ride with me, Shelly."

As the two girls flew off together, Call landed his Charizard to discuss with Percival Lucille, and Marie. "First off… I thank you guys for trusting me. Despite all of the terrible things I've caused…"

"You're making up for it, that's why we can try to trust you." Percival said.

"But hey… What Blake said about Agate City—I don't think he was lying." Cal said. "Well not this time. I cut my ties with Meteor just as they were getting that going, so I don't know the details. But there's no base up here that could maintain a signal of that strength. So, whoever told you that the signal was coming from Ametrine was probably the one who was lying. Do you remember who that was?"

"…" The trio was silent. First one to break it was Percival. "That crazy woman… Thank god I found her Gym Pass. I think I'm going to kill Terra when I see her."

"Ah… Terra." Cal said remembering her name. "I know of her. Through team Meteor that is."

"…" There was another round of collective silence from the three.

"She really doesn't seem the type, but she's a skilled programmer and system hacker who's been working for them since before I was. Obnoxious girl, she is. But she started getting promotions as soon as Lin took charge." Cal explained. "It's strange they couldn't be more different, but for some reason, Lin seems to favor Terra… Like she has some favor towards Nero."

"Lin huh?" Percival said a small shiver, remembering that woman once more. He didn't even say a word to her… but she sent fear coursing through him the moment they met. He did hear that she had some liking to Nero… but to that crazy clown as well? That wasn't great.

"…" Lucille heard how Lin was the Leader of Team Meteor. But didn't know much else, she hadn't even met her. But for whatever reason that name, made her heart pulse with both fear and hate… she didn't know why.

"Why would she like that person?" Marie the only one unaffected by Lin's name asked cal.

"Your guess is as good as mine. I've got some stuff to finish up, but I won't be a stranger." Cal said to them. "I suggest you confront Terra about this whole ordeal. See you guys."

"Ah! Wait!" Percival snapping to attention, thinking of another name Cal had mentioned. "I know Charizards are at least capable of carrying two people. Do you think you could carry Lucille down for us? She in particular wants some information about Team Meteor. Do you think you could do that?"

"Percy!" Lucille yelled, while it was true… She felt asking that was rude.

"Sure, I don't mind. It actually didn't really feel right leaving you guys on the mountain peak after all your help… But You're right about my carrying capacity." Cal said, "but if it's information, I'll be as helpful as I could be. What do you want to know?"

"..." Lucille sighed; this was her chance to learn more about Nero. But what she was about to learn was far from what she could have expected.

A/N: Well, there we go! First major battle chapter after a while. You know, even after all this time. I still use Pokémon Damage Calculators to try and well calculate how the battle will go. I do debate whether I should add the sets I have for characters. (I.E. The level and movesets at the bare minimum. I do also use the EV's... but screw writing those!)

Either way, Lucille did only sweep through Aster with just an Absol. (Note: It is indeed majorly possible, though you may need to set up a Swords dance first.) Because I'm having Lucille's and Nero's Absols be different from normal Absol's their base stats are actually different. Atk: 130 to 140, Speed: 75 to 95. While it is a strange change... my reasoning is, a marked Absol has the innate ability to somewhat reach their Mega Evolution state. (In other words... I just averaged the two forms attack and speed stats.).

Moving on here is the levels and moves of Lucille's team. Percival's will be met next chapter with his Gym Battle against Terra.

Hope (Absol): Female, Level 75, Moves: Night Slash, Play Rough, Detect, Double Team

Blaze (Arcanine): Female, Level 71, Moves: Heat Wave, Crunch, Close Combat, Dragon Pulse
