Chapter 4 : Jade's Reason Why
Jade's P.O.V.
Once we saw that Cat had fallen asleep Beck wrapped her up in a blanket and we all went to the kitchen, the first thing we did was find anything Cat could use to cut herself with and put them in the box Tori had bibbel in. After that we ordered some pizza for dinner, though none of us felt like eating, Cat looked so peacefull sleeping on the couch even though inside, she was going through an emotional war. Soon the pizza arrived and Beck brewed us a pot of cofee, we all gathered around the counter.
"Why don't you want Cat to see a doctor?" Beck asked confused.
"Because she's already upset as it is, we don't want to make her more upset." I said, however that wasn't really the reason why.
Flashback,
I was sitting in my room, working on a project for science class when I got a call from Cat. She wasn't at school today which was weird, I picked up my phone and answered the call.
"Hello," I said into my phone.
"Hi Jade, do you have food," Cat said, she sounded weak and desperate.
"Cat why do you need food?" I asked confused at her question.
"Cause my parents won't let me have any," Cat pouted.
"But wh-"
"Please bring me food," Cat begged. I let out a sigh before speaking again.
"Okay Cat, I'll pick up some McDonald's." I said as I gathered my wallet.
"Thank you, also come in through my window so my parents don't see you."
"Okay, be there soon." I hung up the phone, I walked downstairs to find my mom sitting on the couch. "Hey Mom I need you to drive me to McDonalds," I asked my mother. Cat's house was only a mile away from the McDonalds so I would just walk to her house after I picked up the food.
"Why are you going to McDonald's," My mother asked me.
"Because me and Beck are getting coffee," I lied.
My mother sat in silence for a few seconds, thankfully she decided to drive me. I hoped in her car and my Mom started driving, why weren't Cat's parents feeding thier daughter. I didn't know, but what I did know was that Cat was hungry so it was my job to feed her. My Mom dropped me off at my destination, I walked into the McDonalds and went to the counter to order.
"Welcome to McDonald's what can I get you today?" The employee said, he was a man with long blond hair, and hazel eyes.
"Can I get a twenty piece chicken nugget, a medium fry, a strawberry milkshake, and a happy meal box." I told the employee, Cat liked the happy meal, but I knew it wasn't enough food for her.
"Just a box?" The employee asked confused, I nodded my head. "Okay he said."
I put down fifteen dollars, "Keep the change," I said.
A few minutes later I got Cat's food, I put the food in the happy meal and exited the fast-food. I started jogging to Cat's house, soon I got there, I listened to what she said and went around the house until I found a window with pink curtains. I knocked on the window waiting for Cat to open the door, after twenty seconds of waiting I knocked again still no answer. I called Cat's phone.
"Hello?" She said sickly.
"I'm right outside your window, can you open it up?"
"Who are you?" She said shocked in classic Cat fashion.
"It's Jade, I have your food," I said trying to control my voice to make it sound kind.
"KK," Cat said, a few seconds later she opened the window. What I saw was a red haired girl with beady eyes and pale skin, no wonder she wasn't at school today. She looked like a zombie.
"Cat are you okay," I said as I stepped into her room that smelled sickly.
"I've thrown up a lot," Cat said sheepishly.
I felt sorry for the poor thing, she was sick as a dog and her parents wouldn't feed her.
"Wait Cat, why won't your parents let you eat?" I asked, she looked at me as tears formed in her eyes.
"Because I threw up on the floor," she said threw tears. I couldn't believe it, every time I had a stomach bug my parents cared about me and helped me get better. But just because she threw up on the floor they were going to starve her? I hugged Cat and she cried on my shoulder, she didn't deserve this.
After Cat stopped crying I handed her the food. "Here you go I said."
She took the bag and opened it, her eyes lit up when she saw the happy meal. "Thank you Jade," Cat squealed as she grabbed the fry's and devoured them in seconds.
"Cat slow down," I cautioned her, "You're going to throw up again."
"I'm thirsty," Cat complained.
I handed her the strawberry milkshake, Cat loved anything strawberry and anything pink.
"I didn't know they made pink flavored milkshakes!" She exclaimed.
"It's strawberry," I told her as I crossed my arms.
Cat took a sip of it, "No its not, this is pink, strawberry's are red." Cat said as she took another sip. I watched her eat for a few minutes before I asked her a very serious question.
"Cat are your parents," I began. Cat looked at me, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Are the mean to you?"
Cat looked at me, "Yeah, sometimes my Dad hits me when he's mad," Cat admitted.
I was shocked how se said it unphased, "Cat we need to tell someone," I said worried.
She looked at me scared and grew upset, "No, no, no, no, you can't!" She begged.
"But Cat if-"
"They'll take me away Jade," Cat said, she covered her eyes with her hands and started sobbing. "I don't want to leave."
I looked at her and realized in that moment that I was probably the closest thing to family she had. I thought about it for a moment and decided to listen to her. "Okay I won't tell anyone. But if things get bad promise you'll tell me." I said, Cat looked at me and nodded her head.
"Thanks for the food," Cat said softly.
Back To The Present
If we told anyone we probably wouldn't see Cat again. Not only would that be hard on us, it would be extremely hard on Cat, what would she do withought us to protect her.
"Well if were not taking her to a doctor what are we doing then?" André asked, breaking the silence.
"We could alternate taking care of her," Tori suggested.
"What do you mean by that?" Robbie asked.
"Cat stays with a different one of us every night, that way we can monitor her and make sure she dosen't cut herself," Tori said.
"And make sure she's eating," Beck added.
We all nodded our heads in agreement, then I looked over at Cat sleeping peacefully on the couch. "I'll stay with her tonight," I said, no one argued with me.
"Okay then," Beck said, "I'll take the rest of you home."
Everyone agreed and went to the door.
"Hey Jade," Beck said to me before he left.
"Yeah," I replied.
"Are you going to be okay?"
"Beck its not me you should worry about."
"I know, but if anything goes wrong call me. Okay?"
"Okay," I said. He kissed my forehead before he left, that made me feel good.
As soon as they left I went to go find a blanket and pillow. They were all bright colors but in that moment I didn't care, I layed down on the side of the couch opposite Cat. I knew it was going to be a long few weeks trying to help Cat get her life straight, but I will do anything to help her do that.
Alrighty then.
Chapter 5 on the way.
