CHAPTER 11

Twilight walked out of her room after a while, confused as to why she could hear talonsteps but not see the dragons that they belonged to.

The halls were empty, the ones accessible to all tribes and the ones that were only accessible by WaterWings. Everybody was apparently asleep, nothaving nightmares.

"Hello?" she tried, her voice light and hoarse, even if somebody was awake, they would not hear her.

She took a few steps forward, talonsteps above her, she couldn't see through the ceiling, and she knew that it wasn't a good idea to try a spell for that.

With the absence of dragons around, she decided to wander the halls for a while, to see what she hadn't seen the day before.

There were no indications as to where she was actually going, just a mystery, the hatchery, the wingery, a room that served a purpose that Twilight could not determine, and the arts room.

Paintings and sculptures galore, there were not any accesses to the Water Halls, but that was probably to protect the art, so there was no question there.

Twilight inspected the sculptures first, they were mostly just WaterWing kings and queens, but there were also some famous dragons in the tribe; writers, artists, directors for plays and reenactments and then very respected royal advisors.

The paintings depicted all sorts of scenes from dragons fighting to the most beautiful of sunsets in all the three continents.

Soon, there were voices, discussing voices.

"Tide, we cannot do this! She has not done anything against us, neither has her tribe!" a voice that sounded like Queen Reef exclaimed.

"Reef, can we not argue about this right now? King Frost is here, he can hear us you know," a voice that must have been King Tide said.

Twilight froze in place, there was nowhere to go now, nothing to do, she could not get out without destroying priceless WaterWing artworks in the process.

"That is true, I am only here to take a PearlWing back to her home, not to hear you two bicker about it," King Frost said. "Oh, Twiliight!" he called to her in a singsong voice.

Twilight saw Queen Reef turn the corner and look at her with sympathetic eyes, they both knew what was about to happen, and there was no stopping it this time.

A jingling noise could be heard as King Tide and King Frost turned the corner next, black chains in the BlizzardWing's claws.

"Is there any way we could do this some other time?" Queen Reef pleaded to King Frost.

The BlizzardWing shook his head, Twilight still couldn't move, she didn't sense a spell on her body, it must be that "Fight or flight" thing.

King Frost stepped forward with a large grin on his face, brandishing the black chains that he held in his claws. "Twilight the PearlWing, you are under arrest," he said, he had clearly wanted to say that for a while.

King Tide looked at the BlizzardWing king with respect on his face.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite PearlWing, how are you?" King Frost asked sarcastically, it could be very clearly heard in his tone that he was very happy and didn't actually care about how Twilight was doing, he gestured for somebody to come forward, and that's when two armed guards pushed a gagged Snowblade forward.

The young BlizzardWing had black chains tied very tightly around his snout, anybody could tell that it was causing him some sort of pain as there were bruises around the chains.

"If you try any funny business, Iwillhave him killed, I know about the two of you, Ihaveknown ever since he invited you to my palace some years ago, you didn't hide it very well," King Frost explained, he was not bluffing, the guards' black-tipped spears were pointed very closely to Snowblade.

Twilight's jaw simply dropped; she did not speak.

"No words for me? Disappointing," King Frost said.

The BlizzardWing king walked toward Twilight, her mind racing as the already few solutions became absolutely nothing. The chains were wrapped around her neck, they were clearly going to need her to walk and fly, the chains were that of The Gianim, they really put it to use.

Snowblade looked at her with eyes of sadness and guilt, he couldn't utter a word from his mouth, so his expression did that for him.

"Well, I do think that we are done here," King Frost said, turning to the WaterWing royals. "Thank you for your hospitality."

King Frost yanked Twilight's chain forward and she reluctantly followed him. No spells were possible now.

Snowblade walked beside her; it was nice to have a friendly cold nearby.

King Frost led his prisoners and guards outside the Deep Sea Palace and ordered them to fly South-East to the PearlWing Mountain.

They flew over the Stone Kingdom, past the Blizzard Kingdom and landed to rest just before they entered Desert Kingdom territory.

Swooping down to the ground, Twilight could finally catch her breath, flying for the whole day without stopping wasnotgood for her wings, as they were in pain.

King Frost looked at Twilight with concern and a hint of amusement. "Are you going to make it?" he chuckled.

"How did you know?" she asked.

"About the two of you? Or that you were hiding in the Water Kingdom?" King Frost asked.

"Both," she clarified.

"Well," King Frost looked in the direction of his kingdom. "First, when Snowblade first invited you, he seemed overly excited about something, and then I could hear your tones when you spoke to one another. And then, I assume when you first arrived in the Water Kingdom, Queen Reef sent a messenger to King Tide, to which he forwarded to me."

"So, what are you going to do after this?" Twilight asked.

"After this whole ordeal, I am going to have a nice congratulatory nap, followed by a walrus for dinner," King Frost said. "How about you?"

"The majority of my time will be spent sleeping as I await my death," Twilight said.

"Fair enough," King Frost commented. "I wouldn't imagine that you'd have much else to do- What about that Vision Pool, what about that, what really is it?"

"The Pool of Vision," Twilight corrected. "It allows the PearlWings to protect the continent from being discovered by Pyrrhia, once you take one of the pebbles and step in; you become one of the Pyrrhian dragons, you feel their feelings and think their thoughts, and then you come back here in your body."

"Is it exclusive to Pyrrhia? Or can you spy on the Primordial tribes and Pantalan tribes?" King Frost asked.

"It's exclusive to Pyrrhia," Twilight said.

"Are you lying to me?" King Frost asked.

"Do I have a reason to lie?" Twilight snapped.

"No, no I guess not," King Frost replied.

None of them spoke for a while, they just stared in the direction of the PearlWing Mountain until King Frost finally announced for them to keep flying.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I completed this chapter within 24 hours, I am starting to impress myself.

There was two options here, only have 2 part, or make Part 2 short, I went with the latter, don't worry, there's still 1 more chapter for Part 2 that will be released.

So, King Frost of the BlizzardWings has finally won, he threatened to kill his own SON to do this, he actually would have done it, but I still need him, so for now he has plot armor.

There will be one more spell that Twilight will cast, whether she means to or not, I'll give you a hint as to why I'm doing that by giving you some details about the Epilogue: Qibli finds a message in a bottle. And in case you have forgotten; this chapter is taking place 3000 years before present day.

You may be wondering what the sequel will entail. I'll tell you. The Catacombs follows Prince Snowblade of the BlizzardWings 3000 years after this chapter, chapter 1 will have him going to an execution. ;) To quote Eobard Thawne from season 1 of The Flash, or Reverse Flash... Whatever, same dude. "My goals are beyond your understanding."

Announcement reminder because E: OK, so here's the gist, there will be something called the TPL Special in which there will be credits for fan characters, fun facts and a Q&A between you (the readers, and me. (The author.) So, if you'd like, leave a review, private message me or join the Discord server to ask me your (probably inevitable) questions. (Link in my profile.)

I'm gonna go play video games now, bye!
