A/N The first chapter back with our main characters, or at least with one of them as we join Sora! Last we saw of him he had left Resistance HQ on his own mission, just like most of his friends would soon follow suit after him. He went to a bar and met Dean Winchester who told him some stuff he knew about Nobodies, before Castiel appeared and joined Sora. They got on Lugia's back at the end of Chapter 16.0 and were heading towards Lagann Island for some reason...

Nexus HWR 18.0 Adventures of Sora and Cass Part 1- Remember That Time We Destroyed the Moon?:
"Keep them off us!" Sora yelled. He leaned to the right and pulled hard that way on the base of Lugia's neck. The huge white Pokémon pulled to the side and a beam of red light flew past them where they would have been flying had they gone straight. "Castiel! Can't you do something?" Sora turned his head but the angel also sitting on Lugia's back frowned at his expression.
"I can't, Sora," Castiel called out over the wind.
Sora looked down as red light shone up from Lugia's sides, and his eyes opened wide as there was no dodging this time. He released with one hand and held it out to the side, and he shouted, "Protega!" The Keyblade that appeared in his grip surrounded Lugia's body in a big blue bubble. The red beam slammed into the bottom of the sphere and the whole thing shook but held firm. The explosion faded then the bubble a second later, and Sora called out while leaning over Lugia's right side, "Why not?! Don't you have some awesome angel magic or something? It could easily protect us here!"
Castiel frowned more and he leaned to the same side as Sora. Sora turned his head seeing the angel behind him, and Castiel said to him, "I am a warrior of heaven. It's not our place to intervene-" Castiel looked down as he saw things flying up towards them. They were not glowing lights this time but metal canisters and missiles flying up their way.
"Just help me out," Sora said, spinning back after looking down. "You aren't omnipotent, right?" Castiel frowned but shook his head. Sora got up on his feet on Lugia's back and he rose his Keyblade while surrounding in light. The light faded to show his body covered in yellow clothes and a faint glow, and he held up two Keyblades to prepare some better magic this time while in Master Form. "And you have your own free will too, right?" Sora asked. Castiel looked up at Sora with widening eyes, and the spiky haired boy called out, "Protendra!" A huge bubble twice as big as last time emerged around Lugia, then it pulsed out and destroyed all the explosives heading towards them before they could reach.
Sora took a deep breath then turned to the angel in a trench coat behind him. "If you're not omnipotent, then I don't see your involvement as destroying our free will. Aren't you here by choice anyway? It's your power, isn't it?" Sora smiled at the angel who looked off the side of the Legendary Pokémon and down at another wave of missiles flying towards them.
"Sora," Castiel began, but his voice sounded strange. He opened it again, paused, then he spoke in an apologetic tone, "I can't. If Godly power shows up on Nexus, for something like this... I can't risk the consequences it could bring!"
Sora could feel his Drive Gauge going down fast. Master Form was wearing him out, but its magic was staying strong as he continued protecting Lugia's body. "Pick up your speed Lug' and let's lose them!" Sora shouted, then he planted his feet harder to prevent being thrown off. "And, don't worry about it, Castiel," Sora added, noticing the frustrated tone in the angel's voice at that last shout. "Rules are rules, I guess. Shouldn't tell you to ignore them; might be considered meddling after all."
Sora chuckled then he pulled another pokeball out of his bag, dropping a Keyblade to do so. His yellow clothes lit up and his attire went back to normal black and red, and Sora held up the other pokeball at that moment. A red light shone out and Sora shouted, "Mew! I choose you!" Mew popped out of the ball and did a few flips in the air, then had to speed up and fly after Lugia as the others were moving fast. "Can you protect Lugia as we fly?" Sora called to the small pink creature. The cat-like Pokémon with a long tail did a flip in the air, then it dipped down beneath Lugia's body. Pink spheres of light shot out of Mew and into attacks coming towards them, and Sora let out a deep breath as he had a moment to relax.
He leaned over Lugia's side to keep an eye on his other Pokémon, but Mew was strong. Sora felt confident after watching for a few seconds that the slender, small creature, still packed as much a punch as any other Legendary. "Use Psychic, Mew!" Sora called out as a volley of missiles shot towards them. Instead of firing beams back to intercept the missiles, every single missile in the air froze where it was and then turned around. The missiles fired back down on the industrial complex full of factories that stretched for dozens of miles. It was so long that it was a tough flight to make it over, but they could not go any higher as they would hit the black cloud layer above created by all the smog from the factories below. Sora could tell from a single look up there that nothing could survive in that chemically ashy mess.
Explosions rippled across the Deadlands down below. Missiles stopped flying up at them too as whoever was firing at them seemed to realize that their attacks would just be sent back again. Sora was panting and stayed on guard even as they continued flying over the dark lands below without coming under any more fire. "Finally realized we're not here for you, right?" Sora wondered under his breath while still with both hands on a Keyblade, taking deep breaths to try and calm his heart down. Whoever's below us right now is really not happy about me flying overhead. It's the only way to get there though. Or, at least it's the fastest way.
Sora lowered his Keyblade as Lugia continued to fly without interruption now. He let out a heavy breath of relief then allowed his Keyblade to dissipate into light particles. "Hahh, well, that worked out well. Thanks Mew!" Mew did a little flip in midair while flying down near Sora's head. Castiel watched in mild amusement and wondered if he should have just handled it since his non-involvement did not change much. Sora was capable enough to handle the attacks without him. Sora put both hands back behind his head as they soared onwards, and he said with his smile popping back onto his face, "I can't wait to get to our first stop! It's been so long. I wonder if he'll remember me?"
Lagann Island
"Why are we here, Sora?" Castiel questioned as the two flew down towards a city below.
Sora pointed off of Lugia's back towards the tallest skyscraper in the city. "Over there," he called out for the legendary beast he was riding. He turned his head, "I told you," he began to Castiel. "I have a friend here who needs help."
"Do they need help, or is it you who's asking for it?" Castiel wondered.
"Huh?" Sora lifted an eyebrow back at the angel.
Castiel frowned deeper. He really thought that Sora was diverting their attention for an important reason for a moment. "If you were getting us help for your retrieval of Kairi from the Organization, then this detour would make sense." Sora's lips flattened out but he tried to stay in a good mood and not start frowning just because of that reminder.
The tallest building in the city had several platforms sticking off of the highest section. The neck of the tower narrowed below this huge section with wide platforms for landings of aircraft. Then the skyscraper widened twice as wide about halfway down, before widening again, and again, doubling in size each time. The building was the most massive in the entire city, and at the top was a red rounded domed section with huge spikes sticking off of it that had spiraling patterns going up them.
Sora looked towards those spikes and the drill-like patterns on them that made him smile at the sight of. He tried to ignore what Castiel said, and he continued while they lowered more towards one of the platforms on the north side of the building, "The truth is that this area just became a part of the Cooperative territory. I'm going to try and fix that mistake."
"Are you here to fight?" Castiel wondered in confusion. He thought Sora said he was there to help, but he assumed Sora was not talking about freeing a nation from some enemy leaders.
"Oh I hope not," Sora remarked back with a laugh. A bead of sweat dripped down the side of his face, and he wondered to himself afterwards, Are they going to attack me? I didn't really think this through very well. I should be fine-
"HALT!"
"You there! Put your hands up!"
Sora snapped his head up. So did Castiel, and Lugia. The three looked towards the domed section of the building ahead of them where a hexagonal panel opened outwards with a vertical line splitting it down the middle. Two giant robots flew out with weapons already raised and voices shouting out from inside them at the figure riding a Pokemon down to their city.
Sora held up his hands to either side of his head. "Uhh, hi!" He called out towards the robots. The voices sounded pretty young. Must be some kids in those robots. Kids… "You wouldn't happen to be, Gimmy? And Darry?" Sora did not recognize the robots he was looking at. Those don't look like Ganmen.
"Who… who are you?" Darry called from her Grapearl. Darry Adai glanced towards her older twin brother's robot for a moment before snapping her gaze back onto the figures before them who had arrived unannounced and almost landed directly on their city's High Command Tower.
Gimmy gave the pair ahead of him a more suspicious look through the glass cockpit of his mecha. The tower they were stationed in was super high-tech and had amazing sensors to detect enemy aircraft incoming from hundreds of miles away. No one had ever flown a Pokemon straight at their executive branch's offices before though. What sensors did pick up on the Pokemon had only seen it from below so there was no cause for alarm as a Pokemon flying around was of no concern to them. Only when it descended straight at their High Command did anyone start to worry that it had been sent on a mission, and then it dipped low enough that they spotted humanoid figures on top which warranted the deployment of the Grapearl Squad's commanders: the teenage twins aiming their weapons at Sora now.
"I'm Sora!" Sora called out at the pair. He lowered his hands a little and turned them in towards his face, as if presenting himself as he gave the kids a big smile to ensure them he was who he said.
"Sora?" Gimmy muttered. He started lowering his weapons. Gimmy hesitated for a second while lowering them, hearing a voice snap into his suit asking him what he was doing. "But Rossiu, I think… I think that is Sora."
"Sora! It is you!" Darry finally exclaimed as she had not recognized him until that same moment Gimmy disagreed with the Chief Advisor over their comms.
"Who is Sora?" Rossiu snapped, looking around the room he was in for a response.
Most others in the Command Tower with him looked confused and shrugged or shook their heads back at Rossiu. Leeron's eyes lit up though and he was out of his seat as he saw what the cameras on the Grapearls were transmitting back to their command center. The green-haired thin man smiled wide across his face and waved a hand towards Rossiu in a way telling him not to worry. "You missed him last time, Rossiu. Quite the entry again! Sora!" Leeron put his right hand on his forehead and leaned back in an impressed way.
"Is Simon around?" Sora wondered towards the teens who popped open their cockpits and stared towards the older teenager who looked more muscular and was dressed differently than the last time they saw him.
Sora patted a hand on the side of Lugia's head after sliding down his friend's neck, then he tapped Lugia with its pokeball to return the creature before putting it into his bag. Sora had on a red hoodie with the hood up that he removed and shook out all his brown spiky hair that proved without a doubt who he was. He wore black and red pants too, a black and red jacket that was opened down the middle, black gloves with white 'X's on them, and he had on a magical pack too that stored all his valuables that should not have fit inside it. The last time the twins had seen him he was shorter, and his color pattern had been less red, as the red and yellow at the time had been more like highlights to his white, black, and gray outfit.
"It's been years," Gimmy said down towards the teenager who was walking forward from the round platform he landed on across the walkway to the main building.
Gimmy turned his robot and moved out of the way for the boy who looked up at him and into the cockpit where the orange-haired fifteen year old was sitting. "Wow. Yeah, guess it has been two years. I barely recognize you either!" Sora turned the other way and looked into Darry's suit. "Though Darry hasn't grown much-"
"Hey!" Darry exclaimed out at the older boy she had been so happy to see a moment ago. She pouted at him and Sora just smiled more up at the girl who brought her own smile back a few seconds later though humphed and looked away from him at that comment still. "I've grown just as much as Gimmy."
"Though I'm three inches taller now-"
"Two and a half!"
"Hahaha..."
"Gimmy! Darry! Ask that, 'Sora,' who the person with him is." Rossiu ordered the two outside who glanced back behind them at the building. Then their robots turned sideways and they looked behind Sora to the man in a trench coat who hesitated as the robots manned by children stared back at him.
"Hey Sora," Gimmy began. "Who's your friend?" He tried not to sound as suspicious while asking Sora it, as he was only pretending to care for Rossiu's sake as the Chief Advisor sounded pretty peeved about something.
"Oh, Castiel? He's-" Sora stopped himself as he noticed Castiel giving him a serious look telling him not to just say the first thing that came into his mind. "He's my butler," Sora corrected himself before finishing that sentence with 'angel.' He thought he came up with a better excuse, but Castiel sweatdropped as did the children on Sora's sides who looked at Sora confusedly and then back at the man who frowned but had to roll with this now and just nodded his head in agreement to Sora's excuse.
"You have a butler?" Gimmy muttered under his breath. He shook his head around and turned back towards the building ahead of them. "Whatever. Rossiu, did you hear-"
"I heard," Rossiu muttered back. He rubbed his own forehead and felt a migraine coming on. He glanced over his shoulder again though towards Leeron who was on the phone with their President, and Leeron laughed about something before exclaiming at him to come up here. Is that man really that boy's butler? It's not completely unbelievable. I noticed hesitation in the response though. And our heartbeat sensors are not picking one up from him. Two hearts in a Pokemon could be ignored. That's how we let out guard down enough for that boy to just fly straight into our capital… we aren't currently at war, but this kind of security breach is a disaster! We are beyond lucky that it was revealed by a non-threat. Or, what I hope to be a non-threat.
Rossiu's eyes narrowed at the screen that he zoomed in on the boy approaching their building. The twins flew up in the air to get their Grapearls back in the loading dock that had opened above, but they told Sora they would be right back down to lead him inside from the keypad-entry doors. Sora stopped outside of those doors without any way to open them. Rossiu hummed, glad that he had a moment to compose himself before-
Sora lifted his right hand and created a key-shaped weapon in it. He flicked it at the door in front of him that shimmered while the tip of his Keyblade did too. The door unlocked and opened for him, and Sora stepped inside before looking up to his left. He stared at a gravity lift that the teens from the hangar above dropped into and slowly edged away from the center of where the gravity pushed up the most, lowering them slowly to the level that Sora was at. They dropped at his side and he whistled at the sight of the cool tech that the kids seemed so accustomed to. "I'm not surprised your technology's so advanced. You guys came to this world with your Ganmen, right?"
"Some Ganmen did come to this world with us, yeah," Darry said, moving past the fact that Sora got inside quicker than Gimmy did. The confused orange-haired boy had thought he was rushing down so he could let Sora in and not make him wait outside for long as it was pretty cold out today, and even worse this high up in elevation. He shook his head around then jogged after his sister who continued to Sora, "But the Grapearls we use now are Nexus-made."
"Only the original team Dai-Gurren still even have their Ganmen though," Gimmy muttered in frustration. "Arachne made us decommission the rest in the treaty. 7 total Ganmen for the whole island."
"As long as Simon still has Lagann-"
"Gimmy! Darry!" Kinon shouted over their headsets that made both teens wince at how loud she was.
Rossiu rubbed his forehead even harder behind his wife who started hissing scolding words at the twins for revealing state secrets to this strange person. Kinon glanced back at him nervously, but Rossiu held out hope despite the terrible security leaks and openings all over the place that he was noting for urgent work on later. He's not a threat. That weapon was strange, but he just used it to open the door and get out of the cold. And, that strange person behind him isn't controlling him. He's not even alive!
"Have them bring him to Simon's office," Rossiu said to the woman in front of him who gave him a quick nod then started giving specific orders to the Grapearl Squad commanders. Rossiu turned around himself and started for an elevator in the back of the command center.
"Ooh! I'm coming along!" Leeron exclaimed and ran down from his station to head to the elevator too.
"Me too-"
"I want to come-"
"No. We cannot leave this room understaffed," Rossiu snapped to his right at Artenborough and Tetsukan who groaned disappointedly but sat back in their seats. Leeron did not stop strutting towards the elevator, and Rossiu sighed but did not try ordering their Chief Science Officer to go back to his seat. "What is up with all of you?" Rossiu wondered in frustration as he stepped up next to Leeron in front of the elevator doors.
Others in the command center just asked the same question to the others in there who seemed to know who Sora was. They all dropped their jaws at the two from the original Team Dai-Gurren who had just tried to go upstairs too and who started talking about what they knew. Rossiu heard something behind him and froze up, but he saw the smirk growing even more on the flamboyant man's face at his side that he turned to. Leeron winked at him. "I'm not surprised. You never listen when those boys go on and on with their fantastical stories. Too busy focused on the present and future." Leeron stepped into the elevator before Rossiu and turned back to the man in a white jacket covered in stripes and pins showing how decorated an officer he was in their regime. "Don't you want to meet the man who fought the moon with Simon?"
Rossiu had heard the stories of course. He stepped into the elevator but was not ready for who he was about to meet. Every story he had heard about it flooded into his mind, but Leeron was right. I barely ever paid attention. It didn't matter. They had the Galaxy before I found and joined them. But I was with them from that first month. They said they obtained it- I didn't care. Only utilizing what we had to ensure our survival on this strange world. If this man is truly a friendly who helped save us once, maybe he can be an ally to protect Lagann Island moving forward. I can utilize his strength to better armor ourselves against enemy attack. His power seems unconventional, and it is good to have many different strengths rather than just the one that we are most accustomed to…
Sora was led around the back of the building and to an executive grav-lift that shot up through the floor and kept going above the rounded hallway that encircled the High Command Tower's uppermost section. The lift came all the way up from the base of the building, and right as they were getting there, a figure flew up past them. His head snapped down as he was rising higher, and his eyes opened huge but he opened his mouth too late and got cut off by passing the floor above.
That man was not the only one rushing up to Simon's office above though after getting the news.
"Ah! So-"
"Sora! Is that-"
"Sora?! Wait- I want to get off he-"
"Got it!" Kid Coega leaned out and slowed himself enough to grab onto the edges of the opening into the grav-lift tube. He dropped onto the hallway just ahead of Sora and the twins who flanked on either side of him. "Sora! I can't believe you're- Hey! AHH!"
"SORA!" A much larger man than Kid who just pulled himself out of the elevator called out while pulling on Kid's jacket to get himself out of the elevator, tossing Kid back inside it where he was launched farther up while spinning around out of control.
"Balinbow! Or, are-"
"I'm BALINBOW!" A hand reached out of the elevator and grabbed onto Jorgun to pull him back like Jorgun just did to Kid. Jorgun was too large though, and he fought back against his twin brother Balinbow, and the two of them both wound up getting shot the rest of the way up the grav-lift onto the floor above.
Sora blinked a few times as his greeting got cut off. He laughed though and then stepped closer to the elevator and glanced down it to make sure no one else was currently flying up there who might crash into him. "Alright, going up!" Sora hopped in and spun himself around to face back into the building for when he arrived on the floor above.
Sora reached the top floor and dropped down into a massive office. The top of the lift's gravity-reversal strength weakened so Sora was slowed and could just step right out into the huge living-room-like space that was apparently "Simon's office." There were long glass windows going around most of the room. The blue carpet on the floor was soft under his feet, and there were couches and recliners all around the room that also had a ping pong table in it and a foosball table on the other side. There was a dart board on the wall past the foosball table with a familiar-looking green creature's face as a target, and several darts sticking out of the Ant King's visage. There was a desk on the opposite side of the room as he just rose on, and behind that desk were huge windows from floor to ceiling as a backdrop to the President's seat.
Simon was not in his seat though. He had seen Sora when he rose up the lift first of his friends. He was already over at the grav-lift down, wondering if he should drop back a floor since he was too impatient to wait for Sora to come up after seeing him on his pass. He spun to his left though from the opening to his other altered-gravity tube. "Sora!" Simon exclaimed.
Simon The Digger was a few years older than Sora. He had a similarly childlike demeanor to him though as he saw his old friend and exclaimed his name. "Simon," Sora greeted back with a big smile on his face. "It's good to see you, old friend." Sora stepped forward when Simon ran towards him, and he lifted his arms and embraced Simon with a hug after the older man stopped for a second wondering if maybe he should shake Sora's hand instead based on the calmer way that Sora was speaking. Sora did greet him with a hug though, and Simon laughed while hugging him back. "It's been too long," Sora admitted.
"You bet it has." An annoyed voice snapped on Sora's right side. Sora broke off the hug with Simon and turned to the blond-haired man glaring at him. "Always wondered if we'd see you again, ya' little… If you were alive, you should've said something."
"I missed you too, Kittan. And all of you," Sora said to the others before Kittan could snap at him that that was not what he said (even if it was what Sora heard). Sora looked behind him as Gimmy and Darry had already popped up from the lift, but now a third person followed him onto this floor. "This is my friend, Castiel."
"Thought he was your butler," a stern voice countered from back ahead of Sora and behind Simon. Simon got a bead of sweat on the side of his face and scratched his stubbly right cheek while turning to the Chief Advisor behind him who had actually been running things up here while he and the others had only just been called in for this. "And why when it was a security threat that I messaged you about was your response time so slow in comparison to Leeron's announcement of this person arriving?" Rossiu scolded Simon, before darting that glare around at all the other executive members of their government who all looked away and whistled to feign ignorance as to what Rossiu was implying.
"Uh, hi! I don't think we've met," Sora said. He then looked past Rossiu whose question he ignored and smiled at Leeron, adding, "But we have! Hi Leeron!"
"Sora! You still have that girlfriend? Or, do you happen to be single?" Leeron wondered. He bounced his eyebrows at the boy a few times while asking it, implying that he might be hoping for the second option.
Sora's smile lowered down a bit. "She's my fiancé now." He said it before the mood could sour as he knew it would if he paused for too long or hesitated on his question.
"Ohhh?" Leeron tilted his head back and smiled in an even more impressed way. "I didn't actually think you two were even dating back then-"
"We weren't," Sora started.
"BULLSHIT!" Jorgun and Balinbow both shouted simultaneously.
"Yeah, that's as believable as Kid's hair color," Zorthy joked.
Kid's brother Iraak laughed with him while Kid spun and shouted, "My hair is naturally black! I don't even get the joke-"
"Anyway," Sora started.
"No! Don't 'anyway-'"
"I'm not here to talk about Kairi," Sora continued while speaking over Kid who got laughed at more by his brother and friends who only kept making the same joke because it got such a rise out of him.
Castiel frowned deeper as Sora made that statement to this group of people who apparently knew him and Kairi both. Sora glanced over his shoulder and saw Castiel giving him that look. He hesitated but then turned back to Simon and got a more curious look on his face as he considered what he just said. It's not why I'm here. I came because they need help. Right? Or, was it for her? That's the reason I left the Resistance HQ, right? For Kairi! "Or… maybe," Sora hesitated again and his friend's face in front of him became more confused at the more serious one forming on Sora's. "Simon, your drill can rip a hole in anything. It could, tear a rip in dimensions too, yeah?"
"What's wrong, Sora?" Simon wondered. "I, figured you were just here… I don't know, to visit?"
"No," Sora shook his head. "I wish," he added with a small smile that he flashed around the room at people who had seemed really happy for him to be visiting, except for Rossiu. "It's not actually why I came here." They already helped me once. Can I ask them to do it again? Against the whole might of the Organization? I think the Keyblade could open the hole on its own. Opening the dimensional hole isn't the problem. Just because Castiel can't just teleport in and get her, doesn't mean I should abuse our friendship for my own selfish goal. It's not selfish! But bringing them in instead of my other friends? Kairi's friends? It doesn't make sense.
"Never mind," Sora shook his head around. "I don't think it'd work." He realized he was just confusing the people around him more. He sighed and then said in a softer voice, "Kairi got taken… again."
"What?!" Leeron exclaimed. He felt a sharp pang in his chest and regretted the jokes he made as soon as he got off the elevator about the boy's girlfriend. Kairi-chan. Oh no.
"We'll help you get her back," Simon assured him. "Where is-"
"No no, no," Sora started waving his hands in front of him. "That's not why I… that's not why I'm here." He lowered his arms down to his sides. Sora took in a deep breath before glancing back behind him at Gimmy and Darry, then around at the rest of Team Dai-Gurren. Then he looked back at Simon in front of him and he scrunched his face up before speaking. "I, don't know the complexities, of your situation. I really don't," Sora started. "But, when I heard that you had abandoned the Resistance… I needed to come here. I needed to ask you why, Simon? Why did you side with the Cooperative?"
"Sora," Simon whispered. His eyes were huge and they shook while he stared at his old friend. The other members of Team Dai-Gurren who were up there with them all looked guilty, other than Rossiu. A few frowned towards Rossiu too, others just looked away to avoid Sora's gaze if he happened to be looking towards them.
"We do not need to explain ourselves to you," Rossiu announced. Sora frowned and shifted his softer look towards Rossiu into a more serious one that Rossiu returned back at him. "You are right. You do not understand the complexities of running a government. None of you seem to take that seriously enough," Rossiu scolded towards the larger set of twins. The Bakusa brothers kept glaring towards Rossiu through their sunglasses though and did not back down from a harsh glare from him.
"Is the world the Ant King runs, really the world you want to live in?" Sora wondered. He asked it while looking towards Rossiu, but he turned back to Simon who he had heard was the President of this land and not that other man seemingly making these calls. "The world out there needs help-"
"Our people need-" Rossiu started.
Simon lifted his right hand up at his side in a quick stern motion. He frowned deeper himself but while looking down at the floor. He did not direct that look towards Rossiu, but he did not want to direct it at Sora either and let it relax before lifting his gaze up to his younger friend from this world. "Rossiu is right. Sora, I tried. I promise you, I tried."
Simon stepped away from Sora. He walked through the middle of his office towards his desk. He frowned while doing it and looked down in a darker way that this meeting with Sora was less a friendly reunion and more political than he had wished it to become. Other executives in the room took seats on couches or just moved out of the way as Sora followed after Simon but stopped in the middle of the room while Simon walked all the way to his desk. Simon did not go around the desk though, just stopping at it and putting a hand down on the surface before turning to him. "But the cost was too high to keep fighting, for a lost cause." Simon glanced past Sora and towards Kittan who had not sat down like the others. Kittan turned away darkly and bit down but said nothing, and Sora looked back towards him in surprise that he stayed quiet and then sadness that something had happened to even make Kittan stay silent about this.
"If the cost was that high," Sora whispered. He found a stronger voice and rose his stern gaze back to Simon, "Then shouldn't you be fighting harder than ever-"
"That's not-" Simon started to shout.
"That's not what a good leader does," Rossiu interrupted. He said it firmly while walking up on Sora's left side around the edge of the room. He looked more coldly towards the boy questioning their decisions, but he did not just dismiss him anymore now that he saw how well-liked he was by the rest of the people in their government who held all the power. This is a tricky situation. I do not have a chance of getting him to stay here and protect Lagann Island with us. It's another Resistance recruiter. I should have suspected they would try something like this when I had to go inform them of our decision myself. They know that Simon is at risk of changing his mind, so they sent his old friend to get him to. It's all becoming clear now.
Rossiu continued while stepping past Sora on his left so he was closer to Simon's right side now. "Revenge doesn't protect our people. There are over two hundred and forty million people on Lagann Island. Continuing the fight would have meant countless more lives lost. An endless barrage of attacks from multiple sides. Terrorist bombings. Spy infiltrations… and assassinations." Rossiu added the last part in a dark tone that he did not get any quieter with. He said it sternly and glanced towards Simon then past Sora and towards Kittan too who bowed his head and curled his fists in front of his legs while holding his tongue.
Kiyoh and Dayakka… Nia, Simon felt his heart hurt but kept his composure in front of Sora and his own comrades. "I'm sorry, Sora. I don't know where you've been all this time, but if you're just joining in now, you're too late. The Resistance is losing the war."
"Since I came back to Aebrith that's all I've heard," Sora said with a shake of his head back at Simon. "But that doesn't have to be true!" He exclaimed. "I brought friends with me. Goku!" Sora called out. Even Rossiu looked towards Sora with his eyes bulging at what the brown-haired teen was saying. His belief that this was some Resistance attempt to re-recruit them got shaken, though he held off on just believing the words out of this boy's mouth without checking to see if he was lying first. No one else in the room doubted Sora though. "And my other friends we came with too, they went to Pyraxas and took out Sozin together. They took out a bunch of Lords along the way… It's not a lost cause. It's not."
"Did the Resistance, actually make up any lost land?" Simon wondered. Rossiu looked towards him in surprise that he did not have to come up with a question himself to get the other hopeful members in the room to keep from becoming too optimistic. Sora hesitated, thinking of his own disapproval with what his friends had done that he had not hidden from them on their way back from the Wizard King's palace. Simon lost some of the glint in his eyes of hope that Sora really was changing the tides here. He could see from the look in Sora's eyes at that question that Sora was coming off as more optimistic than he really was himself. "Sora, was Kairi taken by a Cooperative member?"
Sora hesitated even longer then started in a low voice, "That's not why I'm here."
"You want us to go back to war, for your-" Rossiu started harshly accusing him.
"I said that's not why I'm here!" Sora yelled towards the man who leaned back in some surprise at that emotional outburst. "I- I should be saving Kairi right now. And, and there are a lot of reasons why we can't just go do that."
"We?" Is he talking about himself and that man watching us? Rossiu wondered with another glance back towards the strange figure behind Sora who was staying quiet during this.
"I can't save her right now. I can't… and so I need to think of a way to get to her. I need to figure out how I can save her, without the ones who have her hurting my other friends. But I have to protect this world too. I'm supposed to be guarding it, and I've been failing for so long." Sora shook his head in frustration and then looked up at Simon with a desperate look in his eyes. "I can't do this alone. We can't. The fight isn't over, Simon. I swear we're going to keep fighting and we're going to win! But to do that, I need your help. You know how strong we are together!" Sora called out as a reminder, flashing a smile even at his old friend who pursed his lips but then chuckled and nodded once at Sora, though still with a dark look in his eyes not accepting Sora's request.
"Sora," Simon began while still smiling softly as he just started to. "Did you see this city on your way in? And the lands around Kamina City?"
Sora bowed his head. He put his chin to his chest and closed his eyes. Simon had glanced out the windows behind him past his desk, but when he turned back his eyes opened wide and he threw up his hands defensively. "Kamina's not dead!" Sora looked back up and he quickly wiped his eyes in surprise. Simon smiled and laughed, "Haha, sorry. I guess it makes sense you'd think that." A few of the others behind Sora laughed too at the misunderstanding. They looked away with guilty looks though as Simon continued, "We named our capital back on our world after Kamina when he died during the war against the Spiral King. When we started building this one, Kamina was with us still, but everyone was used to the city being called Kamina City so we just kept the name."
"Sure boosted that bastard's ego," Kittan said with a scoff.
"And, where is he now?" Sora wondered.
Simon looked down at the floor again. He felt like less of a man before saying it, and most others in the room also felt inadequate too. "He, didn't agree with the decision to become a Lord under Arachne. He and Yoko went off to fight for the Resistance." Simon lifted his gaze back to Sora's and then continued in a stronger tone, "And I respect big bro's decision. We all do. But he chose the whole world. I chose this country, where the people picked me as their President. We picked our families."
Simon looked towards Kittan who turned away as even with Simon encouraging him he could not help but feel guilty. It was hard to stay here even though he had his younger sister's child at home that he had watched over as a father figure ever since Dayakka and Kiyoh's deaths. "I couldn't save everyone on this world," Simon said while looking straight back into Sora's eyes. "I wished I could. I believed that I could for as long as I was able to. But," Simon shifted his gaze to the right and to Rossiu who had always been the voice pressing this decision long before he came to accept it. "It became clear that what I was doing by continuing the war was only bringing harm to our people."
Sora opened his mouth. He wanted to argue. He wanted to bring up all those other people who Simon had mentioned. Talking about the terrible things they were going through would only make his friends feel even guiltier though. Are they right? If I drag Simon back in, will it just put the innocent people on this island in danger? If Simon is deposed as a Lord and Arachne can put another Lord in his place instead, conditions for the people here will become terrible. Gimmy says these guys still have their Ganmen, so Arachne can't just put a direct hold over this place if Simon's still strong enough to oppose her. It's complicated. Of course it's complicated. It's politics and war and, and I just wish, we were on the same side.
"If Arachne calls on you to help her fight against the Resistance," Sora started softly to his friend before him. Simon's eyes grew wider and the others all turned towards Sora who was quiet but sounded serious too. "Would, you fight with her?" Sora asked. He asked it sadly. He asked dreading the response from his friend who he never wanted to meet on some future battlefield.
Simon's face wrinkled up at the question. He started shaking his head back and forth. "No," Simon replied, to Sora's relief. "Part of the treaty denied any military cooperation. Due to this, I had to drastically downsize Lagann Island's military. The military factories are still in place and operational if the Black Witch goes back on our deal… but so far, she's been true to it."
"That's good," Sora said. He was not too relieved. He did not sound happy. But he was put somewhat at ease that this did not need to turn into something more confrontational than it already was. I know the power of Gurren Lagann. I would, have been obligated to destroy it. "I'm sorry that things, are like this," Sora said.
He did not even know how to word it. He was sorry they were not on the same side. He was sorry that he had to come here and question why they were being cowards in his eyes. Sora looked past Simon and out the window into the city he could see below that was at peace. The city that Simon asked him if he saw, and the lands around that city, were nice. They were not Scorched earth. They were not full of factories spewing disgusting black smoke into the sky like the rest of Arachne's Deadlands. Lagann Island was clean. Beautiful. Peaceful. "This is a nice place you've built for yourselves. For your people," Sora added, assuring them that he knew it was not just for them.
Simon looked back too as Sora stepped up more and onto his right side now that they were both facing the windows past Simon's desk. They walked around the desk and closer to the windows so they could better see down into the city down below them. "It's hard, Simon," Sora whispered when only this one friend could hear him. They kept looking out the windows instead of at each other. "It's really hard."
"It is for me too," Simon hissed back while curling his fists tighter than ever at his sides at the sound of the fear in Sora's voice. "I want to help you more than anything, Sora. I have fought against the Cooperative for so, so so long. And every step forward we ever made, they took five steps back. Every piece of land we gained on Aebrith, they gained five times as much. The war was once even-sided. No one could tell who had more power. The Resistance had more land even, once… but we still lost. We just, kept losing."
"That makes us underdogs," Sora whispered. "Not losers."
"Not yet, losers," Simon countered. "I know the fight isn't over yet. But, it won't be long. The Resistance can't beat him. I know even the Saiyans fell to Meruem."
"I know that. I was there," Sora breathed out. Simon turned towards him with his eyes huge and he saw Sora's fists shaking at his sides but his eyes trembling more in fear as he brought that up. "I saw him. I fought him. And, and yeah, he's a monster. The monster. And he scares the hell out of me too. But Simon," Sora looked back to his side and into Simon's wide eyes at the same level as his own. "The war isn't lost as long as there's even one person left fighting him. And, I'm not going to stop fighting him. Not ever. Not until he's beaten. I- I can't." The Gods don't want me to. They wanted me to get on with my mission, and I told them that I couldn't go yet. This is my mission. My all-important mission… and I don't have the help I need to complete it.
Simon felt a vice squeezing around his heart as he heard his friend say that. I want to go, Sora. I desperately want to go fight with you. I can't leave anymore though. I'm trapped here. Because, if I leave, I leave this island unprotected. Arachne will come and take over with direct control. It's the same reason the others here won't leave me to fight with Kamina like they want to. They know I can't do this alone. And I know they can't do it without me. We're barely at the minimum strength to keep this place from becoming Hell for everyone here.
"There's nothing I can do to help you, Sora," Simon whispered regretfully to the boy next to him. "Not this time."

"What are you doing?!"
"ENOUGH OF THIS!"
"Anti-Spiral, you are not to attempt to break your bindings-"
"You puny Gods, think you can keep me contained? Within a moon from my own world?!" The dark shadow on the surface of the moon shouted towards the world ahead of him that the celestial body was hurtling towards at the moment.
"What should we do?"
"Can we delete him now? I see no reason to keep this risky maneuver going any further."
"ANTI-SPIRAL! YOUR EXISTENCE IS ON THE LINE. OBEY US AND RETURN TO-"
"Would you dare delete me? I challenge you to do so. But know this, 'Originals,' I will not go down alone." His words were ominous. The Godly beings threatened to erase this cosmic entity they had attempted to trap in this universe around Nexus. Its power was proving too much of a nuisance though and many wanted to just be done with it already rather than allow it to continue on with this tantrum. They all froze though as the Anti-Spiral called towards their world, "You wouldn't dare eliminate me completely, not now that I have in my possession your precious Princess."
The Originals shouting at the Anti-Spiral froze. Their attentions dropped to within their world rather than outside. They looked down on Nexus, at a girl with red hair who suddenly stopped talking with the group around her.
The sky was already dark above Kairi. Stars were out. Two of the moons were full and bright. But the third that was dimmer, and on a revolution around Nexus that made it difficult to see, was much larger than usual now that people looked up and could see a brighter reflection off of it. She had already been looking up at the sky when her whole body tensed up. Every nerve ending throughout her being felt electrified, and her mind filled with panic for a moment before blanking into emptiness.
Her thoughts vanished. Her eyes remained open. The sky got darker as the stars and other moons became blocked by the object getting too close to the planet until everything else was lost behind it. Those stunned people starting to yell louder as they realized they were not just imagining things, spun their heads towards a dark red glow that illuminated their campground.
Strange markings went up her arms and down her legs. The auburn-haired girl floated off the ground with her irises going cold and lifeless. "Kairi? Kairi!" A friend of hers at the campfire shouted towards her friend of a few days now.
Others looking up recognized the girl and called out for her as she began rising while stood straight up. Her head bowed and her eyes glared down at the campsite containing thousands of people who had gathered together. On the outskirts of the area were the stronger people who protected the weak near the center where she had been watching out for them. Many of those strong people turned their heads, and so their mecha suits turned with them as they looked back into their camp area and then lifted their gazes again above that girl and to the sky where the moon was descending rapidly.
"She is mine to control." The Anti-Spiral's voice spoke through Kairi's mouth. Her mouth opened and the words echoed through the sky over her campground as well as in the space between realms where the Originals outside of the normal flow of time were freaking out and yelling at each other about potential solutions to this problem. "And you will open the barrier and allow me entrance to this world! So that I may carry out my obligation… And eliminate, all Spiral life forms that you have brought to this reality."
"We can't let him down there!"
"What if we destroy him? Would it damage the Princess' mind?"
"Or her heart?"
"If Kairi is lost… would we be giving up all chance of survival in the great war to come?"
"Without question…"
"Then, we must open the world for him."
"Opening the barrier even once risks It finding us so much faster!"
"Fairy World is completely out of magic. They can't help us now."
"We will lose decades of their time from this. But if he breaks through on his own, or if he uses her latent power to rip open our barrier without our assistance… It may be even worse."
"If we let him in-"
"We will. We must. And yet…"
"You're right. Why is it we chose to stay out of their affairs? Meddling is not our place."
"Because, they don't need our help… Let him in. We wanted to protect our creations, but they've proven in the last days more than capable of defeating every most powerful monster they have come up against."
"It's getting too close! Are we opening it or not?"
"OPEN IT!"
People stared up in horror at the sky from the surface of Nexus on a wide plain on what would one day be called Aebrith. Hills rose to the distant west but the area was mostly flat ground for a hundred miles in all other directions. "The moon's going to crash into that barrier! Look!"
Huge chunks of moon rocks were being thrown from the surface of the moon. No one could see that high to be able to witness what was actually happening. It appeared as if pieces of the moon were breaking off of it and flying in like asteroids that broke apart on the barrier and started making purple ripples shoot out in concentric circles away from each collision point.
"Can the barrier hold off an entire moon?" One of the powerless people in the campsite on Aebrith fell to their butt while whispering that question up at the sky.
"All the oxygen's going to be sucked out of this place!"
"What's happening to Kairi?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!"
"Simon! We have to go save her-"
"Kamina, that's Kairi up there!"
"I know!" Kamina called back at his sworn brother who was closer to his age now due to the years that had passed on their own world after Kamina's death while Simon was still alive. The two of them had spent a lot of time talking to this girl over the past couple of days and instantly got into action at the sight of her flying up towards the dropping moon.
"Okay listen up, men!" Kamina yelled. Around their campsite's edges, the other members of Team Dai-Gurren heard Kamina's voice blasting into their Ganmen. "We're going up after her!"
"Those strong people who can't make it into the sky with us can keep guard around the perimeter!" Simon added while he pulled on the sticks of Lagann and fired jets out the bottom of his own mech. Those jets sucked back into the suit though and a huge drill stuck out of the bottom of the head-shaped mecha that Simon sat inside of. Kamina's Gurren spun around in front of him and swung both arms up to grab onto Simon's Lagann. "Everyone follow us!" Simon yelled out.
Kamina smashed the Lagann into the top of his Gurren and plunged Simon's drill into his mech. Bright green light flashed around them and the suit took to the transformation and kicked its legs out longer while punching its arms out too. Kamina grinned while combining with Lagann to turn their mech into the two-man Gurren Lagann. He let Simon keep shouting to the other members of the team that he had once led but only just rejoined with. You've got this, Simon. I'll back you up! "Aniki!" Kamina heard his bro shout down from just above his cockpit where Simon's just lodged. "Let's go!"
"Alright!" Kamina yelled back. Kamina and Simon both yanked upwards and flew into the sky after the girl whose body was covered in ominous glowing red lines. The atmosphere was full of moon now. The entire sky was covered in the white surface that had large visible craters and not much else on it. It was a moon. It looked like the Moon on most of their worlds. As it was getting closer though, and as a small fleet of Ganmen flew up towards it, the humans and one beastman in the mechs started being able to see what else was coming with that moon.
Viral leaned his face closer to the screen on the inside of his cockpit showing him a zoomed-in image of the surface of the moon. "Is that…" The beastman who on this world had allied with his old enemies was flying up in his Ganmen, Enki, which he had arrived on Nexus inside of. He stared at the dark shadow on the moon that looked straight back towards them. To look towards that figure, he had to stare past the girl who Viral had met on the First Day. She had vouched for him to the Team Dai-Gurren members he had come into confrontation with only for Kairi to step between their groups and stop them from fighting. His eyes shifted back from the dark creature on the moon that had a humanoid shape, but that could mean anything. He himself had a human-like body, but his hands appeared more like clawed paws while his teeth were sharp like a shark's.
"I'm grabbing Kairi," Viral's Enki shot up into the sky towards the girl much faster than the humans flying up below him were moving.
"I want to save her-"
"No me!"
"I'm coming, Kairi!" Zorthy shouted out while pumping a fist up in his cockpit.
"LET'S DESTROY THE MOON!" The twins Jorgun and Balinbow roared.
Dayakka and Yoko sweatdropped at the crazed shouts from the rowdy members of their crew flying up much faster above them. They rose up slower down below closer to the camp where they had gathered all the survivors from the past few days of nonstop action and battles against monsters and villains. They believed in Simon, but they also knew how much blind trust he could put in others that had them concerned about those giant monsters stalking the nearby fields that could very well charge their camp if all the Ganmen guarding it were to fly away. The two in the shared Dayakkaiser stopped hesitating as much just over the camp though as the moon really showed no sign of stopping its descent towards the planet.
"Let's give covering fire from here," Yoko suggested to her friend next to her. The large blue Ganmen with a giant cannon on front lifted that cannon to point into the sky. "If they start going crazy up there, I've got a feeling a lot of giant moon rocks are about to fall this way."
Dayakka gulped but smiled and laughed after a second. He nodded in agreement with her assessment, then targeted the moon above and zoomed in on it himself as he heard Simon call something out that made all the team members on their shared comms stare up into the sky in shock. Viral had already noticed it though and did not stop his flight towards Kairi whose blank, dark eyes, shifted onto the face of his Ganmen and thereby straight into his eyes too.
"You Gods and your games," The Anti-Spiral growled towards the atmosphere that he could see in front of him as a thin purple veil he was about to smash into. "Hiding me away as some sort of final boss for your creations. I will not wait for them. You failed to contain me, as you will fail to contain that Beast you brought here as well. Don't worry though. It won't have the chance to destroy your Spiral creations. Because they'll all be gone already!"
"You're all fools. It would have been better to wipe all these creations from existence than risk the Darkness finding us."
"You are wrong."
It was the last the Gods would speak to him. On the sides of the falling moon though, the purple veil it was about to smash into suddenly pulsed outwards into space.
"Create a bubble." The Gods speaking only amongst themselves worked together. Light flew up around the edge of the moon to surround it in a similar forcefield as the planet below. Once the barrier under the moon was broken through, this secondary one could separate Nexus from the space beyond until the moon had fully passed through, then they could reseal the barrier as it had been.
"Hopefully, with only the surface area needed to briefly hide this moon, our combined strength can maintain the Nexus barrier."
"Yeah, maybe we won't be starting the apocalypse early with this."
"For Kairi's sake, we must."
"This is the right decision."
"The Anti-Spiral does not know the strength of our creations."
"We know them better." The Originals opened the barrier the moon slammed into.
The huge purple ripples were dark and made the entire sky shake when the moon first collided. No cracks formed on the barrier though. Those who had seen the barrier ripple over the previous days during giant world-shaking battles stared in confusion at the point of collision if they could see it. They stared at a point they worried something might break through, though many of them had hope that it would keep the moon out… and they watched as it opened up.
A huge circle of the glowing purple forcefield opened up. As if someone were allowing the moon to pass through…
Those down below were worried already. Suspicion and anger surpassed their fear for a few seconds though for tens of thousands of miles in all directions. These creations were not stupid. Most could understand what just happened to a rudimentary level at the least. Whatever "random" event had occurred to bring them all to this world was controlled. The so-called chaos they had been thrust into, was designed.
Kamina's blue eyebrows narrowed down towards his nose as he glared towards that moon, and beyond it. Is it that being on the moon? Or, did something else just let it in here? Something even more powerful? You think you're big, don't you Gods?
"Kairi!" Simon shouted towards the girl who Viral was about to reach.
The Enki reached an arm for her, but Kairi's body started to faze away right as Viral curled his fingers for her. Her body turned blocky and separated to the right in individual pieces like it was pixelating and dissolving while at the same time being pushed by the wind. Their heads snapped back up towards the moon though that was pushing farther through the barrier of Nexus and was much clearer now on their side of the veil. That dark being that floated down below the moon, staring up at them but down towards Nexus due to the change in center of gravity, twisted around in midair so its legs were now pointed down at Nexus. It continued to drop at the same speed as the moon above it so its head was still the same distance away from the moon's surface falling above him.
The Anti-Spiral stared down at his enemies whose Spiral forces he could feel pulsating even stronger now. His revolution around the world here had been designed to put him over the girl who appeared back before him now. That empty shell had been surrounded by Spiral creatures though that were his very foil, and his rage bubbled over with his eyes darting back to the sky again and imagining Gods who he thought had been caught off-guard by his plan. They must have put her here for a reason. It could not be coincidence. No matter. It is better to be rid of them now!
Four thousand miles away, a boy with brown spiky hair was sprinting towards an old man with his group that was spread over such a large area that it had taken him a while to reach the wizard. "Master! I need to get there now!"
"Sora?" Master Yen Sid wondered to the boy sprinting towards him past the others with them. "I'm afraid your journey does not intersect-"
"It's Kairi!" Sora yelled at the old man who tilted his head back in surprise at that shout. "I know it! I can feel something's wrong." Sora grabbed at his chest with one hand and looked physically in pain as he yelled towards him, "I need to get there now! Is there any way-"
"Hmm." Yen Sid looked around at the terrified people around him who he had been trying to calm down. Beyond those in his direct vicinity, he could hear the panicked voices of tens of thousands who he had gathered around him. He turned back to Sora. "Come here, my boy. I am afraid it will be difficult for us to meet back with each other after this. I will send you there though. Prepare yourself!" Yen Sid rose up his staff.
Others near them got pushed back by a green wind that encircled the wizard and slammed them all away. It surrounded Sora too with bright green light and then a pillar of it that shot high up in the sky almost to the brightly rippling barrier. "GO! SORA! Save Kairi!"
"Thank you, MAste…" Sora's voice faded as he flew up through the pillar as a bright yellow blur up into the sky, before rocketing away into the distant south.
Over what would one day be called the Great Ocean, a bald man cupped his hands to his mouth. "You guys!" Krillin yelled ahead to the two stubborn men who would not slow down.
"Uck- gah," Goku coughed and rose his right arm, wiping his mouth of some blood before continuing to fly towards that amazing power he just felt appear.
Vegeta lifted his gaze above them too while they continued flying off. Both he and Kakarott looked like shit, but they flew as fast as they could to another battle despite how many they had barely lived through in the past few days. Goku's SSJ Kaioken times 10 against Doomsday had really tore him up, not that all of them had not been badly hurt during that fight. The damage from that battle had mixed with a dozen other fights since then that had Vegeta similarly exhausted.
"You should have let Tetsuo or Superman take on that guy this morning," Krillin scolded his friend whose side he flew up to when he saw Goku's body heave from his coughing fit. The fight earlier that same day against Boros was draining on him now, and Goku regretted showing off Super Saiyan 2 to the bald guy after that fight.
Goku chuckled as he thought about that guy he was really just bluffing towards because he didn't want to fight at not his best against such a strong opponent. Though once I get to full strength, I hope I can find him and he really is even stronger! I need to find some sensu, beans… "Whoa," Goku pulled up and lifted his head. They had been on a side of the planet where the sun was up. They had been resting back there anyway, but they had flown to the part of the world where it was night and a battle was seemingly happening. As they rounded the horizon though and stared through the dark sky ahead to the largest land mass on the world they were approaching, the three of them spotted what was dropping through the atmosphere to have the whole sky shaking and glowing like it was.
There were a pair of powers below that moon though that were getting stronger and stronger by the second. Both powers started to feel more like one singular power instead that multiplied in strength due to that combination. It made Goku's eyes grow wide in interest and even recognition that neither Krillin nor Vegeta shared. Do they know the Fusion technique? Goku wondered while picking up his speed to go check it out.
"Whatever's going on over there, maybe leave it to whoever's already helping!" Krillin called out. "If they can handle it. Remember, your wives and kids are back there and won't be able to protect themselves if you two get yourselves in a state where you can't move."
"Shut it, Baldy!" Vegeta yelled out over the shorter man's voice. He did frown deeply though even after his shout of annoyance. He's right. Fucking… We're in bad shape already. Kakarott's oldest brat's out cold. Same with the triclops. Leaving Yamcha to watch them alone just for as long as this takes is already a risk considering the weakling's power level. Vegeta frowned deeper. If someone else can take this fight- rah! Whatever. I'm still interested. The forcefield opened again. The Gods in charge of this realm didn't want the moon smashing through. Or whatever that thing on the moon is. Its energy reading isn't normal…
"You Spiral life forms," the Anti-Spiral bellowed down at the humans flying up towards it. Viral hesitated as there was no distinction made between him and the humans flying below him. Only Gurren Lagann had risen to the same level as the Enki, and now both of their Ganmen were glaring up towards the being of unimaginable power that suddenly turned the atmosphere dark and red around the shaking moon. Huge cracks broke all over the surface of that moon falling for the planet. Those pieces started to drop as the moon itself lost its gravitational pull and continued falling towards the planet without being pulled manually, just naturally dropping with Nexus' gravity now.
Kairi's mouth opened down below the Anti-Spiral who descended to her level and floated just at her side. "You will not bring on the Spiral Nemesis. I will prevent the end of the worlds, MYSELF!" Her words came out in her own voice but the tone and speech was not one the others below could imagine her using.
"He's speaking through her," Yoko whispered while staring up into her friend's eyes that their Dayakkaiser zoomed on. She glared at the dark figure next to the girl whose distorted eyes were glowing white and had swirls of darkness in them.
"What's this guy talking about?" Kittan yelled in annoyance while flying up as fast as he could to catch his comrades.
"This Princess of Heart will be my messenger of death for all of you."
Viral's face twisted in rage at the sound of that. "No chance," he muttered. Jets turned on under his legs and behind his Enki's back. The Ganmen shot up into the sky and swerved to the left of the dark being, and Kamina and Simon matched his flight pattern to soar up and around the right side of the pair up there.
"Viral said he's got Kairi," Simon told his brother below him.
"Hmph," Kamina smiled even while shaking his head that Simon trusted their old enemy enough to just take Viral's word and let him go for it. He trusted Simon though, and he grinned wider at what it meant that Viral was taking care of rescuing the hostage. "Then we get him!" Kamina yelled, and he pulled back his right arm while Simon did the same above him. "WHOEVER YOU ARE! THIS IS OUR WORLD NOW!" Kamina's voice roared out of Gurren Lagann and reverberated across the landscape down below them where everyone was staring up at the red robot that attacked the Anti-Spiral.
Giant chunks of the moon ripped off from the surface as the Anti-Spiral rose its right arm. It swung down, and Gurren Lagann spun in mid-flight and slammed its own right arm towards the giant moon rocks. The arm of the Gurren Lagann transformed as the largest chunk of moon was about to hit it.
Z fighters flying towards the battle stopped and watched from afar in shock at how much power suddenly surged inside that giant red robot. The right arm of the mech transformed while flashing with light. It did not look to be made of any material that any of them recognized, as the matter was able to grow in mass and break all laws of physics while transforming into a drill ten times the size of the robot itself.
The Anti-Spiral pulled its head back and then swung its left arm at Kairi as it spun the other way. Rage twisted on the face of the strange-looking villain at the sight of what Gurren Lagann was capable of as it used Spiral Power to fight against him. The being that distorted the air around it and seemed to move around in constant flux glared towards the other enemy though who lunged for Kairi but no longer with the distraction of his allies who had to bore through a moon shard rather than attack the Anti-Spiral. Enki reached and missed again as the Anti-Spiral's left arm broke apart into four long black appendages that wrapped around Kairi and yanked her out of Viral's reach.
The Anti-Spiral punched its other arm down that extended out and glowed bright purple while it split into ten pieces that shot after Viral and hit his ship in three different places. Each of the pieces were spinning and started looking like darker versions of drills themselves. One of Enki's arms was ripped off and other chips of Ganmen broke apart, and red lights flashed inside of his cockpit like crazy as Viral saw power systems faltering.
The cracks on the moon widened as the Anti-Spiral glared angrily up back past the edge of the moon and to the purple barrier that was dimmer again as the moon was not even touching it now with the Gods pulling the edges of the hole away. The moon had nearly passed fully through anyway, which was not good for the people down below who feared their heroes might not actually pull this off against such power. The cracks growing on the moon had dark purple energy coming out from below that wrapped up the chunks and threw them down at the attacking robots that all got pushed back by how much power this villain had.
I chose this location! YOU DIDN'T BRING ME HERE! They didn't know. They couldn't know my plan. Their omniscience does not exceed my- It shouldn't! Yet, somehow, the one I chose to make my messenger, was surrounded by the very people on this world with the most Spiral Energy under their control? The odds- the chances are microscopic! "I'll kill them all anyway," The Anti-Spiral hissed towards the Gods he knew to be watching him. His eyes snapped back down to the enemies he thrust the shards of the moon down at with such force that it should destroy them all…
"HAAA!"
"Don't let any get past ya'!"
BANG BANG! Kid fired the twin pistol cannons of his Ganmen and blew up two giant asteroids flying just above him.
The Twin Boukan with Jorgun and Balinbow inside lifted its two heads and boomed out laughter of the brothers inside. "HAHAHAHA!" The two fired their cannons into a giant space rock flying down faster now that it was glowing dark purple, and an explosion rippled across the sky as the piece was blown into a hundred pieces.
Some of those pieces were still huge though and falling towards an area with a lot of people in it. Yoko and Dayakka aimed their own main cannon and yelled together, "FIRE!" The cannon glowed brighter blue than it already was, light funneling up the barrel and then firing out in a scatter shot into the largest pieces that it annihilated.
The Anti-Spiral twisted its expression and grew ten times in size as Gurren Lagann spun back towards it and the men inside opened their mouths to yell at the being. The dark creature suddenly glowed purple and grew to a point that it was now three times the size of their own mech but not with any physical mass, just a being of Anti-Spiral consciousness that turned the atmosphere around them darker and cracked apart the dark sky that small moon chunks suddenly grew a hundred times the size of each inside of.
"That's, not possible," Krillin whispered in shock while staring towards a sight he was struggling to believe, even on this world.
"That isn't energy," Vegeta muttered just ahead of him and on his left.
Goku kept smiling unlike the other two, though his amazement was shifting away as he felt how dark that strongest presence under the moon was. Doesn't look like we'll be able to sit this one out after all. He thought it with no disappointment, though he did remind himself of what Krillin warned them on the way here that made his smile drop at the thought of his wife and sons.
Down on the surface only a mile away from the three floating in the sky, Meliodas looked towards the group of three flying figures in white auras then back in the direction of the insane fight going on. The sky was exploding and flashing strange colors over there, and despite how powerful the enemy appeared to be, those who were fighting it did not back down and their voices only grew louder and echoed around as far as the eye could see.
Meliodas spun his head to the left and rose his eyebrows at the sight of something cresting over the tops of the hills in that direction. Reinforcements? Goku, Krillin, and Vegeta all looked over as well in surprise at more of these approaching robots that had similar designs as the ones ahead. The fastest of them flew by the Z fighters without even darting a look in their direction. It flew over the camp and past Yoko and Dayakka who stared up in surprise for a moment then with their faces turning pale in shock and disbelief at the sight.
A smoking white Ganmen was struggling to move or even raise its arms to stop the huge moon rock above it from smashing through his body. Viral ground his sharp teeth and then braced for impact… A hand reached up above him. The palm of the black Ganmen held it back and the arm barely shook as the massive chunk of moon stopped against it. The shockwave from that hand stopping the piece of falling moon still knocked Enki back a few dozen meters. Viral winced, then he turned his head and stared in as much shock as anyone, at the sight of the Lazengann floating there above him. "Viral. Fighting alongside these humans?"
"Spiral King," Viral whispered at the sight of his fallen King's Ganmen. It looked very similar to the Gurren Lagann's red mech.
The man inside had tan skin and a bald head. His eyes were dark as he glared up at the piece of moon that pushed harder into his arm and started making the Lazengann shake. Lordgenome stared closely at the rock he was holding, his eyes narrowing in recognition. "This moon… is from our Earth."
The hand of the Lazengann glowed bright and fired, obliterating the mass of moon above it and firing a beam that continued all the way to the moon beyond that it exploded against. The explosion behind the Anti-Spiral made it lean forward and then snap its glare past the Gurren Lagann that also spun out as that beam had come very close to hitting it. Simon and Kamina spun and looked down angrily, and Kamina pulled back in the Gurren's seat as it was his first time seeing this mech that he had heard about from his friends after his revival on this world. "That's," Kamina whispered.
"The Spiral King," Simon gasped out. Then he lifted his gaze and looked past Lordgenome and under the smoke from the explosion that just ripped apart the piece of the moon he had caught in his palm. Simon and Kamina's eyes grew even wider at the sight of all the Ganmen flying towards them.
"Adiane. Guame. Take your squads and attack the moon. Rip it open as much as you can." Lordgenome ordered his followers who flew up behind his back and then past him into the sky and the falling moon that posed a threat to this whole world. If there's one chance in the world, Lordgenome thought. It's behind the Anti-Spiral itself.
Kid and Iraak spun and aimed their weapons at the beastmen's Ganmen flying towards them. The Coega brothers held off from shooting though, and they lowered their weapons and just lifted their heads instead as their former enemies shot up towards the Anti-Spiral and his falling moon. "Lordgenome," the Anti-Spiral's voice beckoned down. The Lazengann yanked up into the sky looking to have little control over itself while the Anti-Spiral himself dropped down and stopped directly in front of that mech's face.
The space between them seemed to shrink or contract to pull them together without looking like either had flown to meet the other. The Anti-Spiral was glaring down though at the face of the Lazengann and Lordgenome inside. "You understood the need for your own containment, once. Now lay down and accept-"
The Anti-Spiral turned its head to the right and then shot out of the way and teleported back up to float behind Kairi. The Gurren Lagann swiped a drill through empty space and just passed in front of Lordgenome's personal Ganmen. The missed swipe opened up its body for an easy attack from the side, and the Lagann's head turned towards the darker Ganmen they were passing by as Lordgenome had an easy opportunity… "These humans are my enemies," Lordgenome stated while glaring through their cockpits and straight into Simon's eyes. He did not attack them though, and the human men spun around and glared back up towards the Anti-Spiral while floating side by side with the Spiral King.
"But," The Spiral King continued. "The Anti-Spiral was the gravest threat to our universe. To what I perceived as the multiverse, which I now question whether or not it was just one of many multiverses out there." Lordgenome narrowed his eyes towards the being that he felt had tricked him all those years ago. "The Anti-Spiral's fear of the Spiral Nemesis keeps it acting even now. So it must still believe that its own version of the apocalypse can come to pass even on this world." Which means that the force it truly fears is beyond universal.
"What are you talking about?" Simon wondered in a confused voice that exceeded his anger at the man next to him who he did not forgive for being responsible for Kamina's death. An army of Ganmen filled with both humans and beastmen past by their sides and attacked, firing at the moon and the Anti-Spiral, though the human pilots yelled at the beastmen to watch out for Kairi as they did.
Kamina was also frowning in the Gurren but found himself looking up towards the Anti-Spiral in an even darker way than before. "It was the greatest 'threat' to our universe? When it was your enemy?" Kamina's voice had skepticism in it. "Your beastmen killed all humans on the surface. Those were your orders, don't go trying to shift the blame now-"
"That thing up there, is the reason I forced humanity underground." Lordgenome replied. "Wiping out as many as I could to keep humanity's population small. Preventing his kind from annihilating us all. A deal I made with him to prevent him from committing genocide." Lordgenome shifted his mech's metal head to the side and glared through at the human enemies he made before the end of his long life. "If the Spiral Nemesis that he fears is real, then whatever our current circumstances are will mean nothing. But… If the Anti-Spiral is wrong. If it is a deluded force of nature solely from our cosmos, then it is refusing to understand its own insignificance. And it will tirelessly continue its mission to eliminate all Spiral life that threatens overuse of Spiral energy to a point that creates an apocalyptic event: The Spiral Nemesis."
"The Anti-Spiral must be taking us lightly for now," Lordgenome growled. "Which is the only chance we have…" The only chance is getting into the moon. Though, it hasn't destroyed us all already. Maybe it's weaker on this world. Perhaps greater powers have limited its might-
Beams of light flying up towards the Anti-Spiral and Kairi hit an invisible protective bubble forcefield and dissipated into nothing. The Anti-Spiral glared up towards the moon that kept getting blasted by more of the enemies though who had been told to focus on the surface that started to crack in a different way. The Anti-Spiral glared darker back down towards Lordgenome. Kairi rose up her right arm that glowed bright red with strange patterns going down it from her shoulder to her fingers. The Anti-Spiral rose his own right arm behind her. They swung their arms out to the right side, then they swept it across the front of their bodies.
Thousands of swirling black and purple voids ripped open all across the sky above the Ganmen army of a little over two hundred. And out of every single one of those voids dropped out different-looking darker Anti-Spiral Ganmen that fired out as many beams down towards the Ganmen that had been somewhat successful at breaking open the moon.
"Evasive maneuvers!" Guame yelled for his soldiers who were getting torn apart seconds after the enemy mechas had appeared. An army easily ten times the size of their own had appeared out of thin air.
The Anti-Spiral held out his right hand in front of his body and curled it into a fist. All the falling moon shards from the moon getting blasted by the enemies' weapons pulled together in different spheres that grew in size and started flying around, gaining gravitational pulls of their own while also forming faces on the surface of their growing celestial bodies.
The Anti-Spiral's white outline of his strange ethereal body was vibrating with the lines of his form seeming to be all over the place and in no constant state. Its white eyes and mouth appeared to be the same way. It was a being of horrible proportions that had powers beyond physics and laws of creation. But there was something the Anti-Spiral could not control, and that was why the girl in front of him was there. Her hand started to glow bright white as ships below them were destroyed. Lordgenome and Gurren Lagann hesitated while flying back up and destroying the Anti-Spiral robots by the dozens to save their soldiers. They looked up towards the red-haired girl whose hand glowed while the Anti-Spiral held up his own to use her like a puppet.
"The 'Gods' who brought us here have faith in you. But the truth is that they are still treating this like a game. Because life and death do not mean much to them. As they would hold onto vestiges of your Spiral life forces even after death. Death, is not the end… But if your hearts are lost? If all of your 'light' goes out? The latent power of the Princess of Heart is stronger than anything on this world. Used for purposes of destruction, nothing is more powerful. The very essence needed to become one prevents that power from ever being utilized. But now, the souls of those beastmen are, NO MORE!"
"…No more." Kairi's mouth had moved with the Anti-Spiral's. It finished speaking, and her right hand glowed brighter and brighter white. And water formed in both of her eyes. A trail of it spilled down the left side of her blank face that showed no emotion to what she was doing. And yet all those looking up towards the girl could see those tears that did not match the emotionless look in her eyes.
Lordgenome's eyes grew wide too, though because of what the Anti-Spiral said about the beastmen that were his own creations and did not have any Spiral power in them. They have souls? Is it mistaken? Or… Lordgenome focused more on the girl apparently targeting the hearts of his creations. The girl who could cry for the beastmen who she was about to annihilate from all planes of existence.
Goku, Meliodas, Vegeta, and Krillin spun their heads again. They looked off in the same direction Lordgenome had come from. A flash of yellow light soared through the sky inside of a green aura that looked like an aurora. The light inside it appeared more like a shooting star though. Flying a few thousand feet above them. It soared through the sky in a flash of light that illuminated the darkness. Anti-Spiral Ganmen exuding their dark energy started to turn, but the being flew right between them without attacking even one.
It soared through, straight towards the Anti-Spiral that spun its head while Kairi's hand glowed brighter than ever, though also shaking more than ever too in a way that had the Anti-Spiral distracted for a second. The girl's shaking arm that had not done what he told her to yet had kept him from seeing the shooting star until the last second. The Anti-Spiral spun away from the girl who he could see past to the line of his own forces and then the enemies he knew could actually damage him below them. This was not one of those enemies. And yet this figure flying towards him had a very dangerous weapon in his hands that he slashed across the front of his body while roaring at the top of his lungs, "KAAAAIIIIRRIIIIIII!"
The Keyblade slammed into the Anti-Spiral's arms that it swung across its chest to block only to still get knocked backwards by the weapon its white eyes grew massive at the sight of. Sora knocked the Anti-Spiral away and then let go of the Keyblade with his right hand. He reached for Kairi whose head was still pointed forward and had not turned to him. Her head started to turn his way, her eyes so empty of life filled with tears, and yet her mouth moved and mouthed a word, 'So-ra.' His fingers were so close, and then she vanished in a dissolution of red pixels and re-constructed in the right hand of the Anti-Spiral that held her by the back of her neck.
"LET HER GO!" Sora yelled out. Sparkles of light came off of his body as he missed his reach for Kairi and did a backflip to steady himself in midair where he floated bouncing up and down in place. He put both hands back on the yellow hilt of his Kingdom Key but glared at this strange enemy cautiously and with fear in his eyes for the girl covered in red lines whose fate was in its hands. It's so fast. It teleported her. Did it bring the moon here?! Whoa, what's that inside the moon? Is this some sort of weapon? Why's he got Kairi? None of this matters! "Kairi, it's okay." Sora looked straight into the girl's hazy eyes. "I'm going to get you out of this. I promise."
Kairi flinched. "I'll come back to you! I promise!" Promise. He's… He's here- Sora. Sora's here! Fight it, Kairi! FIGHT! The girl screamed into her own head as she could see out her eyes but not move her body.
"Is that…" Yoko whispered in disbelief.
"Spiky brown hair," Kamina said with a chuckle and a huge grin spreading across his face.
Simon blinked a few more times in shock. He thought about sitting around the fire with Kamina, Kairi, Yoko, and their friends late into the night the very night before. "And a weapon shaped like a key," Simon whispered in amazement. "She was right."
"He's my friend. Well, he's… more than that." Kairi had giggled when Yoko gave her a playful elbow in the side after Kairi said that in a bit of a bashful way. She had put her hand over her chest though after saying it, and her eyes had closed as she smiled and told them, "I know he's looking for me right now. Whatever world we're on. Whatever's happening to all of us. I know that somewhere, Sora is coming to find me. He's the kindest person in the whole world. One of my best friends. And I'm sure that whatever's going on here, he'll save us all from it."
"It's Sora," Yoko smiled in amazement as the shock wore off. "Haha," she laughed. Of course Kairi was right about that. And to think I doubted the girl. Yoko shook her head that made her long red hair falling to her thighs bounce back and forth as she did. "He really came for her," Yoko had a softer look in her eyes but kept smiling into the sky where this was happening.
"Keybearer. You have come for the Princess-"
"Kairi!" Sora yelled at the girl he swore reacted to what he was shouting. This monster is too powerful. I need to go all out again. Here we go!
The Anti-Spiral looked annoyed that it got interrupted. It glared at Sora with its swirling white eyes and narrowed them at the Keybearer as he rose up his yellow-hilted Kingdom Keyblade. Kairi's mouth opened too and her voice spoke but it was the Anti-Spiral speaking through her. "This one is the only Princess they brought here. The other Princesses of Heart were left behind. Too many in one place, and this world would shine too brightly. Do you know why-"
"Shut up!" Sora yelled. He swung his Keyblade out to the side and it glowed brightly. He did not care about whatever the Anti-Spiral was saying. He had one goal at the moment. "Final Form!" Sora yelled. His body flashed with light. It's the only one powerful enough to- oh, oh no. Sora felt his stomach get queasy in an all-too familiar way. He wobbled inside his bright white light and leaned his head back with pain shooting through his body starting from his chest. I've been using Final Form for the past three days nonstop. I know I can't use the same Drive Form over and over- oh I knew I wasn't supposed to- "Nnnn- ah-" Sora hunched forward. Crap! I hate this. Why now? At the worst time…
The light disappeared. Sora's conscious thought faded as well. The Anti-Spiral stared forward in confusion at what just happened. Its eyes grew wider in surprise as it honestly was not expecting the Keybearer to suddenly transform into… this. Sora's Anti Form looked like him, but it was pitch black. Only the outline of his clothes had some dark navy blue to them instead of just darkness. His beady eyes glowed yellow. Long black wisps exuded from his arms and legs and head.
"What the…" Kamina's grin at seeing this person who Kairi had talked up to be some great hero started to drop. He leaned forward in his seat as did everyone else staring up towards their new arrival who turned into some dark monstrosity to counter the Anti-Spiral in how wicked it looked.
Simon started sweating badly at the sight of the dark creature that no longer had its key-shaped weapon in hand. Its hands instead had sharp claws that it flexed out before shooting forward in a black blur at the Anti-Spiral and Kairi who both flew backwards faster than the being that clawed through empty space and missed its target.
"My King! There are too many of them!" Adiane shouted while spinning the head of her Ganmen to look towards Lordgenome. Her eyes narrowed in rage at the Gurren Lagann just from looking at it up close again. Her Sayrune was a massive white Ganmen with a wide wingspan that had a design on it making her wings look like they had eyes as if mimicking the intimidating pattern that butterflies adapted to. One of the Sayrune's arms started lifting to aim at Gurren Lagann, but her arm froze as the Spiral King glared at her through their cockpits and made her lean back in fear at his gaze.
"Continue firing at the moon. Do not stop!" Lordgenome shouted at his beastmen. "Rip it open. DO IT NOW!"
The Spiral King flew up at the created fleet of Ganmen on the Anti-Spiral's side. "Drill Bullets!" Lordgenome roared. He aimed his arms up and fired countless drills out of his arms that ripped apart hundreds of enemy Ganmen. Even the humans who hated the Spiral King and had overthrown him in a revolution on their own world gawked and went 'oooh' as a chain of explosions crossed the sky.
The Anti-Spiral glanced down. Sora flew towards it, but the spiky-haired dark form got confused as the enemy was no longer behind Kairi who had stayed in place. Sora was not having thoughts, per-se, but he did know his allies from foes. He spun his head back and forth in confusion, and then the dark form arched its back and let out a horrifying roar out agony. Blood splashed out of both sides of him and his roar turned into a raspy yelp before he fell from the air. The Anti-Spiral floated behind Sora with a darker look on its face as the Ganmen under Lordgenome fired beyond their leader and at the moon no longer protected by the Anti-Spiral's creations.
The Anti-Spiral teleported Kairi to itself without even looking towards the human Ganmen pilots who just tried grabbing her when the Anti-Spiral was distracted. He brought her with him as he teleported again and directly down in front of Lordgenome who was looking through the explosions and towards the moon that he just saw some huge cracks break apart on and dislodge entire pieces of the surface. His vision became blocked by the Anti-Spiral that floated before him. "You are in my way. Spiral General." The Anti-Spiral slammed its right arm down faster than Lordgenome could slam his own up to try and drill through the monster.
Lazengann's right arm was transforming into a larger drill. The Ganmen was hit first though while its arm was only in mid-swing, and its right arm was ripped off while long black appendages that spun around off of the Anti-Spiral's body ripped through the Lazengann's sides and even into the cockpit where one grazed the side of the Spiral King's chest. Lordgenome coughed and blood splashed out of his mouth, but he slammed his right elbow down and caught the spinning black arm piercing his Ganmen. His Lazengann had lost its right arm, so he did not need his own right arm to be controlling nothing. He used it instead to hold the Anti-Spiral to him and pull it in tightly while punching his left arm across the front of his body with a new drill appearing there. "NOW! HUMANS!"
Gurren Lagann shot up over the top of the Lazengann while the Anti-Spiral swung its spare arm out and shattered Lordgenome's secondary forming drill. Simon and Kamina's voices roared as they swung at the monster, "GIGA… DRILLLLL- BREA-" The Anti-Spiral snapped its glare above Lordgenome and into the cockpits of the Gurren Lagann. Simon and Kamina were slammed backwards in their seats as their Ganmen glowed bright purple. The steel around them started crushing in towards their bodies. The cockpits got smaller and they felt their lungs being crushed by the gravity that multiplied a hundred times and put so much pressure on their ships that they were about to collapse.
Even the drill on Gurren Lagann's right arm creaked and then buckled. The drill dented inwards on all sides and stopped spinning as Gurren Lagann was thrown back through the sky by the Anti-Spiral's single glare. "Simon! Kamina!" Kittan yelled while spinning his King Kittan's head and watching them go soaring. "OI! TAKE THIS!" Kittan flew down towards the Anti-Spiral's back.
"Makken! Get Kairi-" Dayakka froze and his face covered in sweat and horror.
The Anti-Spiral swung its left arm behind it. The sky behind that monster ripped open. A gash in reality ripped apart and swirling gas giants emerged into the Nexus atmosphere. Tens of thousands of Anti-Spiral ships emerged this time out of voids that appeared all over reality. The sky directly behind the Anti-Spiral tore apart, and Makken Jokin's Mo-Shogun was among the other exploding Ganmen that were piloted by beastmen and all got hit by the Anti-Spiral's attack. The space around the Anti-Spiral twisted and turned black like the void of space. The being grew ten times in size and reached its left hand around Kairi that it curled its fingers above like someone holding a marionette.
The Anti-Spiral twitched its fingers, and Kairi swung her arms with her hands glowing white again.
"AHHHH!"
"WHAT DO WE DO?!"
"MAKKEN!" Kittan yelled while firing from his King Kittan in rage towards the Anti-Spiral. The rest of Team Dai-Gurren fired as well, except for the leader limping forward down on the ground in the distance.
Some of the beastmen flew down towards their leader whose Lazengann had dropped to the surface and although moving, was not flight-capable any longer. Lordgenome had fallen inside of the mostly human camp area. The damage report popped up on his cockpit's screen, but so did a zoomed-in image up of the moon's surface. "We're inside," Lordgenome muttered. He looked to the damage report and grimaced, then he turned the Lazengann's head and looked over towards a different Ganmen that had huge dents all over it but was moving better than his own. Another Gurren-class Ganmen… He tapped a button on his central console and spoke in a low voice to the two men who stopped and looked over towards his fallen ship. "Simon the Digger."
Simon looked towards the Lazengann and the man inside who he had personally killed back on their world. His eyes grew wide though at what the Spiral King started telling him and Kamina who looked up at the bottom of Simon's cockpit and imagined his little brother inside. Kamina smirked and then shook his head back and forth as he thought about some of the problems he had been imagining over the past few days. Simon's the leader here. Has been since I've been gone, but it was always his idea anyway. He's Simon the Digger! "You can do this, Simon."
Simon looked down as he heard Kamina's encouraging voice below him. "Mm," he hummed affirmatively and loud enough for Kamina to hear. Simon pressed a button on his own Lagann's console and yelled out, "Everyone! Make a hole for us to get to the moon! RIGHT NOW!"
"The moon?" Kittan looked back up and past a horde of thousands of Anti-Spiral Ganmen in the way. Giant masses of space debris were flying through rips in space. Their allied Ganmen and friends were exploding from the overwhelming enemy numbers. And with less of them fighting back, more of that debris was falling down for the camp below, not that any of that would matter if the moon hit down soon as it was looking like it would. It was more than three quarters of the way to the surface from the atmospheric barrier it had passed through already. Kittan smiled at the confidence in Simon's voice that must have come from somewhere though. "Heh, haha, HAHAHA! ALRIGHT! YOU HEARD HIM!"
"DO IT!" Jorgun and Balinbow yelled.
Zorthy, Kid, and Iraak and slammed their throttles up to full and sped together towards the mass of Anti-Spiral enemies above.
Kairi's hands were shaking and glowing bright white but not finishing whatever it was the Anti-Spiral was trying to force her to do. "Obey. OBEY ME! The Gods can revive Spiral life. That has proven true on this world…" Kamina darted a glare out the corner of his ship as the Gurren Lagann started flying up into the air again. It had sputtering engines at first and then thrusters blasting at full as their Ganmen proved more resilient than the Anti-Spiral had thought as it darted a glare to the enemy he thought he had disposed of. Kamina glared towards that creature that had just brought up his own revival, and he bit down in anger at what he was trying to make Kairi do. "Give me your power, Princess. DESTROY THEIR SOULS!"
Giving it to them may come back to haunt me. But this is our one shot, Lordgenome stared up through the battle in the sky and to the moon's surface that had been broken open and revealed the giant gap under the surface before some strange metal wall. There was a circular hole in that wall that looked like something was supposed to be inserted into it.
"The Cathedral Terra. It's where I hid the flagship I used to fight the Anti-Spirals in the past. It is claimed by the Anti-Spirals for now. It will attack you if you get close, but you can reclaim it for Spiral life. My ship is crippled. It can only be you now. See that opening? Take your drill…" Simon and Kamina flew up through the gap in the middle of a cone of explosions on all sides of them. Team Dai-Gurren flew up with them and annihilated their enemies by firing all around them as a spinning circle of protecting allies who all screamed out as loud as Kamina and Simon in the middle of them who pointed their drill above their heads.
The drill started spinning faster and sending off swirling lights on all sides of it as it grew in size again and again until it was the perfect fit for the hole they were flying up towards. Their Gurren Lagann was so much smaller than the hole in the gap of the moon itself, but the drill above them grew a hundred times the size of their mech. I never expected something so huge to be another Ganmen! Simon smiled wide as he and Kamina reached the hole in the moon huge enough for them to fit through now.
The Anti-Spiral let go of Kairi and turned to glare up towards the enemies flying above him. "No you don't." The moon around the fighters fired lasers towards Gurren Lagann, but the spinning drill had too much force in it. Huge red beams firing towards them were pulled into the funnel created by the drill and shot back out into the turrets emerging and shooting at them.
The giant steel walls inside of the moon flipped outwards to reveal turrets that fired even more attacks at the Gurren Lagann, but Simon screamed out while tanking straight through them all. His Gurren Lagann popped all the dents out as the Spiral power in his drill glowed from white to bright green and flooded throughout the suit and around him and Kamina who glowed bright with it. Simon's pet pig-mole Boota jumped out of Simon's pocket and had spirals in its tiny usually beady black eyes. Its glowing Spiral eyes matched Simon's and Kamina's as their drill broke apart the moon walls behind them from the force of their spin.
Simon screamed in his mech that his voice amplified out from. "THIS IS TEAM DAI GURREN'S DRILL!" The Gurren Lagann pulled back its drill arm with Simon, Kamina, and Boota all pulling back their right arms inside of the mech.
"THIS IS THE DRILL OF SIMON THE DIGGER!" Kamina screamed out.
Simon slammed his arm forward while snapping his head back. A pair of red sunglasses appeared on his face and spiked out to the sides just like they did on the front of the Gurren Lagann mech suit that was much more than that. "OUR DRILL, IS THE DRILL THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!" Simon slammed his drill forward.
The moon's defenses had not stopped them. The Anti-Spiral snarled up towards them and rose its right hand, then the dark enemy turned its head and narrowed its swirly white eyes in fury at the beastman behind it in a damaged mech who grabbed Kairi with one arm and pointed his other at the Anti-Spiral. Kairi's face had two lines of red glowing light cutting down vertically through her cheeks with branches of that evil glow breaking off from it. She turned her head to the right and looked into the cockpit of the Enki where Viral sat grinning his shark-like teeth towards the Anti-Spiral that got distracted by the others above. "I've got you-"
The Anti-Spiral slammed its left arm forward. That arm broke apart into twenty spinning black drills that shot into Viral's Ganmen like drilling tentacles that shredded his Enki apart in a second. Ten rips in space opened up across the sky around the moon as the Anti-Spiral wrapped its arms around Kairi and pulled back towards itself while the blank-faced girl kept looking towards Viral with tears spilling freely down her face at the sight of his limp and blood-soaked body dropping out of the air.
Viral coughed up blood as his lungs had filled with it. His body was in tatters, but his eyes squinted open and he brought back up his smirk that the Anti-Spiral saw. The Anti-Spiral looked back up itself and stared with widening eyes at the sight above that no one else could believe they were looking at. "Do it- ack, SIMON!" Viral screamed out with his last breath.
Down on the surface, the people staring up into the sky battle knew that there was nowhere they could go. The moon covered the entire sky. Pieces of it were falling, and all of Team Dai Gurren had flown up with Simon leaving only Yoko and Dayakka to try and destroy all that debris. A man with black spiky hair flew forward though in the chaos as a giant chunk was dropping over a populated area. He rose up his arms, and his hair flashed bright golden before he fired a beam into the moon mountain before it could land on the people below.
"Goku!" Krillin shouted after his friend, before chasing him into the fray while Vegeta stayed still and watched with his jaw ajar at the sight above where Kakarott just flew to. Meliodas glanced over again towards this group and noted that name he heard the shorter balder fighter in a tattered orange gi shout. He turned back though just as Krillin glanced up himself at the unbelievable sight in the sky.
All over the moon, the regular-looking surface was turning into metal. And that metal was moving. It was jolting out in different directions and changing shape. Giant drills spiked out of the moon's sides. And out from the bright glowing light on the bottom of the moon, a head slowly started to emerge. The Gurren Lagann's head rose down out of the moon as it broke apart around them. The head alone was the size of the entire landscape below. Giant arms punched out of the moon's hollow shell, showing that the massive yellow drills that had spiked out were on each of its shoulders. The moon higher up spiked outwards too with two more huge yellow drills that were on feet that kicked out of the moon and extended even longer than the moon was tall still.
Simon stared down through the chaos below him even as they transformed. His chest hurt. His eyes grew wide at what he heard Yoko shout out in shock to see. "Viral?" Simon whispered in disbelief.
Kairi was held by the Anti-Spiral who grabbed the girl tightly by the back of the neck while glaring up at the transforming enemies above. "You would sacrifice your comrade to give you the seconds you needed to merge with the Cathedral Terra. You Spiral Life Forms abandoned one of your own…"
That's not true! Kairi's blank eyes were shaking as her right arm lifted and glowed white again.
"I will take his life force. Eliminate it from all existence. These beastmen do not even have Spiral energy, but what light they do have will be snuffed… What? This isn't- WHAT?!" The Anti-Spiral stared at the girl he was using as his messenger. He stared at the back of this girl's head and at her auburn hair that waved around in a white wind that swirled out from her body itself.
Viral's falling body glowed white, but the light was not extinguishing as the Anti-Spiral willed her to do. Kairi's right arm was shaking violently, and then it snapped up and pointed towards the transforming mech above that arched backwards as it glowed with bright white light.
"What is that power?!" Leeron exclaimed. He stared over Artenborough's shoulder at the screen in front of them in their ground headquarters where all the energy sensors were spiraling out of any calculable range. The entire room flashed green and their heads snapped up in the sky where the power surge was coming from.
"K-airi," Sora gasped out on the ground. His chest heaved, and the boy leaning over him fell backwards in shock while grabbing at his right wrist and pulling his arm away from the teen he thought had died. Sora leaned upwards, and the shorter teenage boy slightly older than him stared in shock towards this 15 year old figure who sat up despite his terrible injuries. His eyes squinted up towards the girl high above who the Anti-Spiral was staring in shock at the sight of. Sora was not surprised though. "You're fighting it." His fists curled at his sides. He punched down on the ground and groaned as he got back to one foot, then staggered off his left knee to rise even more.
Liliruca Arde stared in shock over her friend's head who she had run after when he went sprinting over here. That black-haired boy sitting behind Sora was staring up in awe at this boy who lifted his hands and recreated the Keyblade in them. "Cura," Sora slashed his Keyblade out to the side and showered himself in green magic that made his bloody wounds disappear. He still had cuts in his clothes that did not recover from the Anti-Spiral's attack before.
"Zach, get up," Lili ran to her friend and tugged on his left arm to help him get back from this scary person. She remembered what he had looked like when he fell from the sky. Lili did not understand why her friend who had been with her since the First Day had run over here considering how Sora had looked in his darker Anti Form.
Zach Sazaki pushed his right hand in its black glove down on the floor and got up next to Lili who he held his left arm out in front of to keep her back as she had followed him into this dangerous area. They both looked up instead of continuing to stare at Sora though, as they saw a glowing golden light fly over them and go destroy fifty giant Ganmen of the Anti-Spiral's creation. The Anti-Spiral was not focused on Son Goku though. It was staring up in more shock than ever at what Kairi did with the heart of the enemy that he wanted her to destroy.
"Viral," Simon whispered with his right fist clenching in front of his face. "I accept your wish." He yanked his fist down in front of his heart where he felt the most power surging into. The giant transforming Gurren Lagann exploded in size and shattered all exterior of the moon that could no longer contain it as it grew twice the size it just was in an instant.
Lordgenome stared up in amazement too. "Viral, had this much Spiral energy to give?"
The red sunglasses on Simon's face spiked out with four distinct points matching the outline of the destroyed Enki's body. Red sunglasses shot over Kamina's face too, and over Boota's small face as well on Simon's console where the pig-mole looked pissed. The Ganmen that covered the entire sky even more than the moon just had flipped around so its legs were down now and its head was back up. Simon's voice echoed through the sky though as he roared, "SUPER GALAXY… GURREN LAGANN!"
"SIMON!" Yoko screamed.
"DO IT, SIMON!" Kittan roared up from where he continued to fight the Anti-Spiral's forces.
"Enough of this." The Anti-Spiral and Kairi vanished backwards into a rip in space. Sora's head snapped back and forth down on the surface where he realized he was waiting too long. He bent his legs and then shot up into the sky with light sparkling around his body as he pointed his Keyblade into the air. Another rip in space opened up high in the sky and in front of the Gurren Lagann, but also crossing hundreds of miles of air as the head of the Anti-Spiral's head emerged and was even larger than the Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann itself.
Simon the Digger's arm swung up above it with a giant drill appearing again and bulging in size too large that it scraped across the ceiling of the world when he moved. A trench in the sky barrier was dragged as the spinning drill carved through like smashing through glass. Huge pink shards ripped around the tip of the drill and sealed back in on itself a second later like someone was desperately trying to mitigate the damage that Simon nor Kamina cared about.
"FIX IT FIX IT FIX IIIIT!"
"WHY DID WE ALLOW THIS?!" Panicking Gods screamed while spectating the spectacular display that was growing too powerful and much too large to be contained.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAAA! How amusing!"
"Do it, SIMON!" Other Originals just cheered and laughed with the madness on their world that was extending even farther now.
"Expand the barrier!"
"We can't! But we can shrink the space within our bounds…"
Reality on Nexus contracted. The Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann was too large to fit between the surface of the planet and the barrier above. But the space between atoms shrank proportionally to the growth of the Ganmen. Those looking in from a distance watched as the human camp below the battle shrank and shrank. Living creatures inside of the zone did not notice as everything around them shrank as well, so only the Gurren Lagann and the Anti-Spiral that continued to grow in size looked to be changing size at all. Their sizes were beyond comprehension for most though, but they were not the only things altering their proportions as the battle continued.
Kairi emerged out of the same rip as the Anti-Spiral, but she was not the size of a speck of dust in the expanded space of a contracted Nexus. Neither was the boy who flew up towards her while screaming out her name, "KAIRI!"
Hundreds of miles away to the east, Zeref dropped his jaw while staring towards the chaotic scene in awe. A huge smile broke out over his face. I love this world.
Byakuya Kuchiki stumbled backwards from where he stood in midair as a wind from the Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann's movements slammed into him. Behind him and on his left he heard laughter, and Byakuya darted a look at Kenpachi and Yachiru who pumped their fists into the air and cheered it on as that giant robot rushed the Anti-Spiral. They had come to check this out, but Byakuya did not know what they were supposed to do at this point other than watch the out-of-this-world display of power.
Krona the Mad Guardian eased backwards from where he had flown initially to watch this conflict. I will leave this alone, he decided… for no apparent reason.
Sora glowed brightly again. He knew it was bad to rely solely on it, but after just going Anti Form he knew he would not transform into that one again. So he was able to go into Drive without fear of a mistake. His clothes turned bright white. Two Keyblades spun around at his sides and then shot up above him and cut through the air, splitting a massive moon flying towards him out of an unknown void. The moon split into four chunks as Sora slashed through it, then his Keyblades curved out like boomerangs and smashed through hundreds of Anti-Spiral spacecraft. Explosions shattered the sky in two lines curving away from him then back to his body where the Keyblades returned to.
"You're Sora, right?!" A voice yelled out of the King Kittan that flew up on Sora's right side in the expanded space that looked like outer space as stars and planets and even galaxies were appearing inside it but all proportional to their sizes. "Don't worry. We got your back!" Kittan yelled with a grin as this boy flew towards one single goal without seeming to care about all the insanity going on around them.
Kid, Iraak, and Zorthy heard Kittan's voice. They spun their heads and the fear wiped from their faces. Grins spread across them, and the three fired past Sora into a massive head-shaped moon creation that appeared a thousand times larger than them and somewhat alive but also just a celestial body. They unloaded their weapons that all glowed brightly as they saw where Sora was flying to. "HAAAAA!"
Explosions ripped apart the wall in front of Sora. The twin brothers Jorgun and Balinbow shot up in front of Sora and voices screamed out of both heads of their Ganmen. "GOOOOO!" They slammed their arms forward and fired into the fleet of Anti-Spiral craft that shot through the previous explosions and towards Sora and Kittan.
"This much Spiral energy," Leeron whispered in amazement as their machines all sparked with energy and broke apart while somehow still glowing bright green.
The Gurren Lagann's pilots flew their giant Ganmen towards the Anti-Spiral that yelled back at them as angrily. The path between them that was clustering up with obstacles were torn through like nothing. It appeared as if nothing could stop them, and the Anti-Spiral grew suddenly to be five times the size of its enemy that pulled back sharply as the Anti-Spiral changed shape too. Dark purple energy surrounded the Anti-Spiral as it transformed into something that somewhat resembled the Gurren Lagann itself, only larger and far more powerful as the mechanical insides were replaced by pure energy.
Kamina thought of his beastman rival who he had fought many times on their world before his death. His eyes darted around the flashing green cockpit of the ship they were in that started losing its own mechanical form. "Alright, Viral. I'll accept it. I'LL ACCEPT YOUR POWER!"
The Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann shot up in size as well. A boy with spiky brown hair flying below darted his gaze up with a dropped jaw just like Kittan's in the yellow Ganmen flying next to him. Kittan looked back down first though and his eyes bulged at what he saw just separate them from Kairi. "Sora! SAVE YOUR WOMAN!" Kittan sped ahead of Sora towards the mech a hundred times larger than his own that just rose up and blocked Kairi from their sight. "KING KITTAN… STINGER!" His slammed the lance of his ship forward as the enemy mech flew towards him and slammed its own weapon back into his so they clashed. Sora grabbed onto the head of the King Kittan and threw his legs over the top of their clash, spinning and flipping around past the enemy so he was close to Kairi now.
The Anti-Spiral did not focus on them this time. It was flying ahead towards the largest Spiral enemies whose Spiral power surged much too high with the loss of their comrade that he had taunted them with only moments ago. The Anti-Spiral reached both arms out to the sides and grabbed onto galaxies that it created and pulled out of rips in space. The Anti-Spiral flung the one in its left hand forward then its right.
The Gurren Lagann slashed its right arm then its left, and it cut through the galaxies flying at it that shattered apart with exploding suns all around it that were contained by desperate spectating Gods. Then the mech rose up its right arm again, and that arm transformed into a drill, and the drill grew in size larger, and larger, and larger again. "THIS IS THE DRILL OF TEAM DAI GURREN! THIS IS MY DRILL!" Simon screamed out in a voice that somehow echoed over the world. "HUMANITY'S DRILL! THE DRILL, OF ALL LIFE!"
"EVERYONE… COMBINE!" Simon screamed. The various Ganmen of the team members fighting below all shot up in huge funnels of blue light that the Team Dai Gurren members grinned inside of. Their mechs flew up into the mass above and merged with their leader's, and the Spiral power surged even higher than ever. Jorgun and Balinbow, Kid and Iraak, Zorthy, and Kittan all joined with their leaders. They all flew up into the giant mech that lost all physical form.
Simon's head snapped back down with his blue hair waving behind him wildly just as Kamina's was below him where the man laughed loudly as he felt that power surge through them. The Gurren Lagann's most massive form ever turned bright blue. The ship's steel was replaced by pure energy as voices cheered them on all around them.
"SIMON!"
"SIMON THE DIGGER!"
"TEAM DAI GURREN!"
"DO IT!"
"WE KNOW YOU CAN!"
A huge red cape of energy flew out of the back of the Gurren Lagann's shoulders. It shot backwards and dropped behind the massive Ganmen that no longer looked like a robot at all but just a mass of Spiral power. Even the drill started to glow so brightly that it was hard to tell if there was actually any matter inside of the spinning weapon. "WE HAVE NO LIMITS, ANTI-SPIRAL! SUPER GALAXY… TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN!" The giant blue "robot" pulled back its drill and then shot towards the Anti-Spiral that pulled back its own right arm.
"IN THAT CASE!" The Anti-Spiral turned an arm into a massive drill of its own. "I WILL FORCE YOU TO SEE THE LIMITATIONS OF THE SPIRAL RACES!"
"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S LIMITED!" Kamina roared back.
"On this wild limitless world…" Kid called out inside the mass of energy.
"Humans are still fighting even against monsters like you…" Iraak shouted.
"And not just humans, but beastmen too!" Kittan yelled out in respect for their fallen allies.
"And all those races come together…" Zorthy snapped.
"TO BEAT YOU!" Jorgun and Balinbow roared.
The Super Galaxy Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann slammed its arm forward.
"EAT THIS!" Simon roared. He swung his arm inside of his cockpit, but his body appeared more light than mass too. He swung his arm and his own glowing red cape flapped behind him as did the giant's that he was inside of. "FINISHING MOVE…" The drill they had created grew twice in size. "TENGEN TOPPA…" The drill multiplied in size ten times larger. "GIGA… DRILL… BREAKERRRRRR!"
The Anti-Spiral's drill grew equally in size each time before it slammed it forward. "PATHETIC! ANTI-SPIRAL… GIGA, DRILL- BREAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The drills collided and all of reality around them bent. Gravity shifted and the sky split in half while pushing together between the spinning drill tips.
Goku fell on his back on the ground down below. He found it really hard to move as his Super Saiyan form dropped completely. Yet he had raised his right hand to the sky, as if mimicking how others could funnel him power for his Spirit Bomb. He grinned as he felt some sort of energy he had never noticed inside him leave and join with all the others' up in the sky. Krillin landed next to his best friend and gawked up into the sky as well at this universal-sized battle going on above them.
Of all the strengths in the world, Vegeta looked on in befuddlement. I thought I realized how high the top is… I was wrong. This isn't- It's not, the same kind of strength. What am I even looking at? Vegeta looked down at his distorting hands and pulled his head back at the sight of them. This? WHAT IS THIS?!
Meliodas leaned backwards and took a step back too as his body started bending to the shifting reality caused by the clashing drills. "Whoa," he whispered in amazement and even with a bead of sweat dripping down his face.
The Gods of all worlds were struggling to contain the sheer amount of power within the world's barriers without letting it shatter the planet below. "NEXUS WON'T HOLD!"
"Untrue."
"It is strong enough! IT MUST BE!"
Purplish-blue light pulsed out of the back of the Anti-Spiral's drill and pushed forward as hard as it could. Bright green light slammed behind the Spiral's drill as well and kept it pushing back just as hard into the Anti-Spiral's weapon. The drills pushed back and forth, both looking evenly matched as they inched forward only to get pushed back again over and over… and then, the tip of Simon's drill broke.
"HAHAHAHA!" The shattering space around their spinning drills got pulled in closer to the Anti-Spirals that reality twisted around as its drill appeared to move faster and push stronger than the others could match. The Gurren Lagann's drill shattered as the Anti-Spiral's voice laughed through the space and made everyone stare in horror. The giant green drill was shattering as if steel inside was weaker and breaking apart. It looked like the energy was made of glass and was breaking apart, until the actual metal drill of the Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann was hit inside of the Tengen Toppa's.
The smaller drill was spinning faster as the humans put their alls into it. They pushed back… and then the giant spinning purple drill started smashing through their inner metal one as well. The Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann broke apart around the Gurren Lagann inside that slammed its drill forward while green light pulsed into its back from all the shattering points that their comrades fell out of. The rest of Team Dai Gurren screamed out while falling away, but they pointed their arms back towards Simon and Kamina in the center of their power.
"Now, die Spiral life form! Die just as the rest of this world will-"
"NO!" Simon pushed harder into the drill thousands of times larger than his own but that their Gurren Lagann's drill continued to push back against. "THIS IS NOT, WHERE YOU WIN!" The Gurren Lagann's drill pushed the Anti-Spiral back and made the creature inside its energy lean its head away in surprise.
"Hmm?!" The Anti-Spiral glared down at the collision point of their drills that he should have broken through already.
"Good job holding on for this long," a voice spoke behind the Anti-Spiral. The voice reached the being of unimaginable power that could amazingly hear him over the sounds of the clashing drills.
The Anti-Spiral started turning its head. Its giant white swirling eyes shook at the sight behind it. Sora floated there in the void of nothingness expanded to allow this fight to go on. His right arm was extended out in front of his body. He was grabbing onto the yellow hilt of his Kingdom Key. His left arm was wrapped around the girl on that side of him covered in receding red lines that were dissolving with yellow light coming off of them as her and Sora's hearts glowed brightly together. And while the left side of her face still had glowing red lines on it, the emotion was back in her right eye that glowed with her heart as she held her right arm out and grabbed onto Sora's Keyblade with him. She grabbed one side of the Keyblade while Sora grabbed the other.
"Whatever you are," Sora called out. He made eye contact with the enemy he spoke to directly, "You have a heart. You're the same as all of us."
A thin beam of white light shot out of their Keyblade. It flew through the purple energy mass before them and into the body of the Anti-Spiral that snapped backwards as it was pierced through the back and then out of its front by that white beam. Straight through its heart. Not the physical heart of the creature, but its heart nonetheless. "GO! SIMON!" Kairi screamed out, and Sora opened his mouth again and yelled out the same with her. Then he pulled away as he had repaid the favor to his allies who gave him a moment to save the girl he loved.
Simon and Kamina felt the pressure lift from their drill as the Anti-Spiral was pierced by the Keyblade's light. "NOWWWW!" They slammed forward and shattered through the Anti-Spiral's drill. They burrowed through it and then shot forward with twice as much green energy pulsing behind them as ever. It slammed them forward through the Anti-Spiral's energy and straight towards the enemy inside that snapped back up as it recovered from the surprise attack from behind.
"Impossible! Our energy, is superior to yours!" The Anti-Spiral swung both arms forward through the energy. A dozen black tendrils shot off of either side of it in the shape of long spinning drills. They pierced through the arms and legs of Gurren, and they ripped away at its body and dislodged Kamina from the cockpit. The spinning drill of Gurren Lagann was hit and ripped apart too.
Simon spun his head while gasping out, "Kamina- Ah!" Simon looked down at his own controls that he had not used to grab onto his brother. "Lagann?" Lagann had reached its left arm back behind it and caught Kamina as he was flying out of their ship. The right arm of the Lagann transformed into a new drill, and only then did Simon grip his controls and slam forward, smashing through five of the Anti-Spiral's drills that tried to stop him.
All of the other Anti-Spiral's drills shot inwards towards only the head-piece of the Lagann that knew it was not going to be able to survive this. And the cockpit opened up as the drill of its right arm was targeted and torn apart by the Anti-Spiral that was so close in front of it now. Lagann pulled Simon out of the cockpit, and Boota went flying out of there too. Kamina snapped his right hand up in the air towards the squeaking pig-mole that he snatched before it could go flying away.
Lagann grabbed onto Simon and Kamina and threw them forward together towards the Anti-Spiral. They were still too far though, and the Anti-Spiral grinned its creepy white mouth towards them while punching its left arm forward that separated into five distinct spinning tendrils as its left split arm was still breaking Lagann behind them. "SIMON!" Kamina reached out his free hand not grabbing onto Boota, and he gripped onto Simon's left arm with his own before spinning around in midair.
Kamina threw downwards which put him off the track that Lagann had thrown them to fight this together. "You can do this, Simon!" Kamina called out while pulling Boota close to his chest to protect the creature from the spinning drills that cut up his arms and legs and slashed across the right side of his face too. Kamina's sunglasses broke while blood splashed off of him, but he grinned past all the spinning black drills around him to where he threw Simon with all his might.
Simon yanked his right hand back and slammed forward a punch into the Anti-Spiral's head. The Anti-Spiral stumbled backwards inside of a strange space outside of space yet still somehow physical. Simon flew past the enemy and skid on hands and knees behind the dark figure that spun around angrily towards him. Simon kicked off the ground and sprinted at the Anti-Spiral that he uppercut his right fist into the chin of. The Anti-Spiral snapped back, then it kicked its left leg up and into Simon's face that snapped to the side.
Simon grasped onto the Core Drill that he used to pilot Lagann. He found it in his hand and curled his fingers around the drill-shaped key that grew in size as he gripped it like that. He pulled his arm back while his drill expanded in size and started spinning. He spun and kicked his left leg up at the Anti-Spiral that slammed its left fist into his face. Simon sprawled backwards but made the Anti-Spiral stumble aside as it was kicked in its face too. It lifted its left arm and slammed forward, splitting the arm into several pieces that cut Simon as they passed him. His drill was spinning though and spun faster and faster as he kicked the ground below him and dragged his other hand back on it to give himself a boost.
The Anti-Spiral swung forward and Simon did the same. They followed-through and stopped on opposite sides with their backs to one another. Simon's bare muscular chest had cuts all over it that bled pretty badly. But the Anti-Spiral had a giant gaping hole in its chest… and then it EXPLODED! And everything exploded! And the sky filled with the brilliant explosions that shattered their infinite battleground space and returned the world to normal proportions when it faded…
Present
"That day, really was crazy," Sora joked nostalgically as he and Simon continued to stare out the windows at the top of Kamina City.
Simon gained a small half-smile himself as he thought back on it as well. His smile faded though as he could still see Sora's dejected expression in the corner of his eyes that had not lifted back up. Simon glanced down and curled his fists hard. He spoke softly, "We don't have the power we did that day. Most of it was lost in that fight. Even against the Spiral King alone we struggled to get the upper hand in the war. But he has the Androids as his benefactors now. And the whole of the Cooperative behind them. We, couldn't win."
Sora thought of the other beastmen that he had met for the first time that day. Before Cytomander attacked and destroyed the town he had built with his friends on Awul, he had already met a large number of them and knew to be wary. He thought of the stand-off with Lordgenome and his beastman army after the battle with the Anti-Spiral. Kairi was upset to hear all of their racist taunts towards humans. She cared for Viral, a beastman she said was her friend, but not one of the others was like him. Not one cared for the "inferior humans" or "insects" that they called us. She could see why Simon and the others were against trusting Viral, though they all changed their minds by the end of that night even if we did have to send the Spiral King packing.
Lordgenome was scared of the Keyblade. I saw him look at it when it seemed like he might try to fight the injured Team Dai Gurren for their Ganmen. He looked towards me and my Keyblade, before running off. Sora looked down at his right hand that he lifted in front of his body. That day, I just did what felt natural. We stopped the Anti-Spiral with our combined power. And Simon's shouts had echoed over the land. It's why so many people are condensed here on Lagann Island. 240 million plus on one island. Because they heard that Simon the Digger and Team Dai Gurren would protect them. If Simon goes and falls in battle, all these people will be in danger. But, but yet I- I need his help. And he won't give it. Sora's fists curled in frustration.
"Meruem is too big a threat," Simon whispered. "To my island and all my people," he added. "Even if the Gurren Lagann could beat him, the Ant King has too many allies that would slaughter my people the second I go after him. He's too smart an enemy." Sora shook his head wishing he could deny Simon's words.
"We thought we could hold out," Simon went on. He stared out the window and looked to the west, "But Arachne now controls the entire east coast of Aebrith's south above the Great Wall. We are separated from our old allies. We cannot help the Resistance or Leam anymore, and they can't help us either."
Sora shook his head back and forth. "Slavery will never be tolerated here-" Simon continued.
"That's not all that matters," Sora hissed. He bit down as he hated arguing with his friend who he could tell was still a good person even despite their different views. "It's not enough," Sora breathed out while turning to Simon. "Just Team Dai Gurren alone, is enough to make this a more even fight."
"You're wrong," Simon whispered back after staring quietly back into Sora's eyes for a few seconds. He gave his response and shook his head in a way showing he would not change his mind on this. "We can't-"
"You won't," Sora denied him. He grit his teeth and then glanced away, before back at Simon in a darker way as he uncurled his fists. He knew there was no changing Simon's mind after seeing his look right there. "You've changed, Simon," Sora whispered. Even if I can go find Kamina who left to keep helping the Resistance, it won't mean much without Gurren Lagann behind him.
It was a sad moment as Simon balled his fists in anger hearing Sora say that to him. "What about Kairi?" Simon whispered. He needed to know about the girl who he was sad not to see here and was worried about after what Sora had said already.
Sora's expression darkened more. "She's alright, for now. But she's in danger and, and the Organization has her…"
Simon tilted his head back in surprise. For a moment he appeared apologetic to bring it up, but he stared down his nose at Sora with his own look getting darker. "If anything, you're the one who's changed, Sora." Sora spun back to the man with his eyes growing wider again. Simon shook his head back and said, "Because that day, neither heaven nor Hell were going to get in your way of saving Kairi. I know you'll find a way to save her… But why haven't you already? What are you doing here?"
Sora's fists clenched harder and shook angrily at his sides. Then they loosened again though and guilt strewed over his face at what Simon said that made Simon again lean back and feel bad for saying all that. Sora shook his head though at the sight of Simon's guilt matching his own. "You're right," Sora whispered. "It's complicated, but you're right. I need to save her. I need, to find a way. And I will. I will save her… but that's not all that matters." Sora's voice got more mature and his expression hardened. He calmed his heart though before speaking. Sora sighed and refaced Simon completely.
"There's a war coming, Simon. I know it. One more war." Sora looked into his old friend's eyes and saw Simon staring back at him in a serious way showing he was listening closely. "No one's going to be able to escape it this time. You won't be able to sit it out up here. When that day comes, I'll be looking for you on the battlefield." Simon's eyes widened more as Sora suddenly gave him a bright smile despite all Simon had said to him denying Sora's requests for him to rejoin the fight. Sora smiled at him anyway and said with confidence, "Your head might tell your differently, but I know your heart is in the right place. And I can always count on that being the case."
Sora looked towards Castiel in the middle of the room who he nodded at signaling he had finished what he came to do. The others in Team Dai Gurren all heard what Sora said to Simon at the end in a louder voice for all of them to hear too. Rossiu frowned deeply at this strange person but did not say anything against what Sora told them. The knowing tone in Sora's voice was unsettling to the Chief Advisor who had been doing everything in his power to avoid that coming fight but started to doubt that he was going to manage doing that when he saw how Simon reacted to the same thing.
Sora walked back around the desk and then through the middle of the room. He smiled to each side and at the faces of the friends he had traveled with for a little after the day they fought the third moon and the Anti-Spiral together. Sora even flashed a smile towards the hostile Rossiu who looked back at him in surprise for that look. Sora passed between Gimmy and Darry and tousled their hair with each hand, pushing it down over their faces while the surprised kids hunched forward and then snapped at him to stop that. Sora laughed while reaching the grav-lift down, and he looked behind him while Castiel stepped up to his side and then waited too. Sora looked back across the room at Simon again. "See you later, Simon."
Simon the Digger stared across his office and back at his friend who was saying that with complete assurance. Simon smiled back at him, "See you then, Sora."
Sora hopped into the grav-lift but did not go all the way in as he was getting off pretty soon and did not want to drop too far through the Tower. Castiel landed softly down on his side back a level down as they walked for the exit back outside. "Let's head out, Castiel. I know our next stop now."
"Hm?" Castiel lifted his eyebrows at Sora who seemed to have decided that based on their interaction here. "So, not to Kairi yet?" Castiel wondered just to make sure that they were taking another detour as it sounded like.
Sora ignored the tone in Castiel's voice making it sound like he thought they were wasting time. Not yet. I trust Roxas and Axel. I need to figure some stuff out first. "We're heading to Android territory," Sora said. Castiel tilted his head confusedly at the sound of this course change. "The Spiral King is a Lord there."
"Simon doesn't sound like he needs any help." Castiel frowned at this destination. "Even if you defeat him, they will not rejoin the fight for that alone."
"That's not why we're going," Sora retorted. The beastmen don't have to be evil. The Spiral King did what he did because he was fighting the Anti-Spiral, right? That's what the others theorized had happened back on their world. "Lordgenome might be a part of the Cooperative, but he has weapons as strong as Simon's. Whoever these Androids are that control them, I doubt they're anywhere close to as strong as the single Lord below them who might already be thinking about overthrowing his leaders. I hope he is, at least." And I know he'll listen to me. He looked at my Keyblade like he knew about it. Something about the way he looked at me. I know he'll listen to reason. Maybe even more-so than Simon. If he already knows some things too, I might be able to talk about this stuff without it counting as "meddling." I can hope. And I can make sure that I do everything in my power to save this world. It's my most important mission not as Sora, but as a Guardian of Light. As, the Keybearer.
A/N Thanks for reading! I had a ton of fun writing this chapter. Listening to the Gurren Lagann OST and watching some of the battle scenes again to make sure I wasn't nerfing their powers despite how insane it was to keep a fight like that within the bounds of Nexus. I've hinted for a long time about how Sora had faced Ganmen before back in the first chapters of the original Nexus in that flashback in the town Cytomander attacked and Ansem took over Riku in. Sora had also left in that chapter right before they met Meliodas when he chased after Roxas, so he wasn't there when Meliodas mentioned to Killua about the Third Moon that once existed on Nexus. Meliodas had told Killua that it was one of the reasons people know of Son Goku, and we saw in this chapter that he heard Krillin call out Goku's name before Goku went and saved thousands of people during the battle. We also see Simon the Digger and Team Dai Gurren who we've heard a bit about but now see where they're at in the present, their stance on the state of the world, who they've lost... And the fight against the Anti-Spiral and the 3rd Moon! XD I hope y'all enjoyed how that flashback ended. With the explosions. If you watch Gurren Lagann fights as I was doing while writing the chapter, it only made sense to blow up the flashback at the end! Anyway, let me know what you thought of the chapter in a review below. Thanks for the reviews, follows, favs, and for everyone who just read the chapter! 'Til next time!

Are there any Fate Grand Order characters on Nexus?
To be honest, the only Fate show I've watched is Stay/Night. We've seen Saber and Rin(Lin) from there, but I think that's it so far... Thanks for the review!
