Nexus HWR 20.4 Alibaba and Morgiana:

Balbadd City

"You can't be serious," Daenerys said to her husband in a deadpan tone.

"I am," Alibaba replied. He smiled at the woman before him, "You make a great Queen, Dany, and the people love you. I'm sure you can handle Rhodar without me."

"But, Your Highness," Sayid began. They were in the war room, and most of Alibaba and Daenerys's top advisors were with them. Sayid stepped towards the younger man who he believed in with all of his being, "You built Rhodar from the bottom up. You made alliances for it, sweat and bled for it..."

"And our marriage," Dany interjected. Most people did not say anything and looked nervous as she brought it up. She looked into Alibaba's eyes, "That was meant to prevent war when we first united our lands, and to strengthen our people against the common enemy in the north."

"But we don't need to worry about that anymore," Alibaba said and held up his hands like it was so simple. "We've made allies with Pao, and Orgrimmar, and even the RNG!" He saw some of the advisors opening their mouths to argue but he continued fast, "They're different than the old NEG. Together, I know all of you, following Dany, can keep our alliance strong and continue to make Rhodar amazing."

"You really are serious," Daenerys whispered as the blond man in front of him showed no signs of taking back his declaration. She shook her head, This is so sudden. I wish he would tell me things like this in advance so I could prepare better. "In that case, go, but know I am not happy about this. We have enemies here to deal with, and Awul is far from perfect."

"Our enemies here are terrorists," Alibaba said and shook his head softly. "We have strong allies all over the continent, and I bet you're going to destroy the Underlords while I'm gone." He looked around at each one of his friends and comrades around him. "Take care of Rhodar for me. I need to go to Aebrith. Aladdin went there to help the oppressed people, and I know he's waiting for me to come help him."

"You're not a coward. You're a brave guy, Alibaba." Alibaba's grin curled up some more at the thought of his friend's voice he hoped to hear again real soon. He rose a hand to wave at everyone, "Don't have too much fun without me. Oh, and Dany," he smirked at the woman behind the desk and took the hand he was waving to scratch the back of his head sheepishly. "Sorry about never getting to, well, you know."

She shook her head again and sighed. "Not from lack of trying on my part," Daenerys admitted. Almost no one in the room understood what they were talking about. She frowned over at Alibaba and said, "I never thought you would be able to stay true to your word. You are a better man than I thought you would be when you agreed to get married. I don't believe our marriage needs to continue any longer."

All of the advisors in the room spun to Daenerys in shock but she stayed sitting behind the table, the only one sitting in the entire room. She had her hands down on the wood and she looked into Alibaba's eyes. "Are you sure?" Alibaba asked, and Daenerys's mouth curled up into a smile at the question.

"Yes, it's quite alright," she told him. "We'll always be friends. And when you return you can come back into the government if you like. I always appreciate friends at my side while I rule, and I trust your judgement more than anyone's."

He smiled back at her and nodded, telling her with the motion that he agreed to those terms. "Thanks," he told her.

"Alright," Queen Daenerys said while everyone in the room continued to just gawk in shock as their government was upheaving. "You may leave. I am sure you still have somewhere to go before you depart."

Alibaba chuckled and he waved at them all again before turning and walking to the door. "Please let Sayid and the others help you out," Alibaba said as he opened up the door. His advisors who were about to follow him away froze where they were. Dany nodded and Alibaba finished, "I'm leaving it to all of you. Good luck."

Alibaba shut the door behind him. The young man sighed, then shivered as he finally let his nerves get to him. He put his hands into the pockets of his white robe and started walking down the hallway of his palace floating above Balbadd City. Sorry I couldn't give you any kids Dany, but like I said when we got married, my heart belongs to someone else.

Alibaba traveled around the palace and he reached his room before long. He opened it up and then ran towards the foot of his King-sized bed where he dropped to his knees with an excited look on his face. Morgiana was on her knees next to him and without looking at her he questioned quickly, "How long has she been-"

"She just got up," Morg replied quietly, almost like speaking too loudly would knock her down. The tiny girl in front of them was standing on two feet, looking down at her legs like she was amazed she could actually stand on them.

"You think she could walk to us?" Alibaba asked, turning his head to Morg who looked back at him just as excitedly. They both spun back to the girl with light pink hair and ushered her towards them.

"Come on Ally, come to Daddy," Alibaba waved his hands towards himself and the girl started wobbling forward. His face filled with glee, and then fell just as fast as the girl turned a bit and stumbled towards her mother instead.

"Hehe," Morgiana giggled, before raising an arm fast to cover her mouth. She lowered that arm three times as fast to catch the girl who finally fell, making sure her precious daughter did not get hurt. She examined Ally closely before sighing in relief as the girl did not start crying. Morg noticed Alibaba looking at the floor next to her and she turned to question, "What's wrong?"

"I have something I need to tell you," Alibaba began hesitantly. Morg's face fell and Alibaba continued while still staring at the ground guiltily, "I don't want you to be mad, but I know you will be. Earlier, just now actually," he gulped and Morg had sweat on her face as she wondered what could make him look so guilty. "Dany and I," he continued and Morg's jaw dropped, she looked horrified. Alibaba turned to face her and he smiled, "We got divorced."

Morg's face froze in her horrified shock, but as what he said clicked it turned less horrified and more just sheerly astonished. "Wh-What?"

"We broke it off," Alibaba said. "She trusts me enough that she doesn't think we need a marriage to keep us allied anymore. And well, I think she kind of wants a King who loves her, the same way she knows I love you." Morg's eyes had water in them before he finished the line. Alibaba opened his mouth to continue but grunted instead as Morg wrapped her arms around him. He hugged her back, even if her grip was a lot stronger, and they only stopped when they heard giddy laughter in front of them and turned to see Ally smiling brightly at her affectionate parents.

Alibaba released the hug and he picked up his daughter who he rested in his lap. He sat there, legs criss-crossed, next to Morg who sat the same way. She could see something was still on his mind as he looked at their daughter with such determined yet sad eyes. He looked like he was holding onto her like he never wanted to let go, yet was looking at her with eyes that said he wanted to take all of her in, in case he did not see her again anytime soon. "There's something else," he continued.

"Tell me," Morgiana demanded.

He sighed and looked straight into her beautiful eyes that matched the color of her hair. "I've decided, to go find Aladdin." Morg's eyes opened wide for a second before going back to normal and she just nodded, waiting for Alibaba to explain himself as she knew he would. "Awul is safe, safer than it's ever been at least. We all became sloppy with the Underworld defeated, but after Port Maple, every city on the continent will be too protected for the Underlords to attack like that again. The new communications' systems the science and magic teams put together make it so our people can call for help from any city on Awul now and get it from all over. Laxus, and Yamcha, and other powerful people around the continent will protect it from those terrorists. But as for me, I don't think stopping the Underlords' attacks is enough."

Alibaba clenched a fist and held it in front of him. "There are countries as big as the RNG on Aebrith that institutionalize slavery. I want to destroy that system completely, not ignore it just because it's far away from me." Alibaba declared this while looking in the eyes of the woman he loved who had suffered as a slave herself back on their world. He continued, "Aebrith may seem like a world away, but I can't ignore their problems like they're not my own anymore. I want to find Aladdin, and together we're going to make this whole world a better place. I'll talk with the leaders of other countries, tell them that if they change we can offer them goods and technology. I have so much good there I can do that I just can't do here as the King of Rhodar anymore. That's why, I relinquished my position as King. That's why, I'm going to Aebrith."

Morg waited until he was finished talking. Then, the woman stood up, frowned down at Alibaba, and said, "Okay."

"Okay?" He questioned in shock.

"But I'm coming with you," Morg continued.

"You can't," Alibaba countered. He looked down at his daughter whose face looked worried and her eyes were starting to water. Somehow, it almost seemed like their daughter knew what they were talking about, and it scared her. Alibaba grabbed Ally's hands and waved them around playfully to distract her from what he was saying, and because he wanted to do this one last time before he left. "You have to take care of Ally. I thought about bringing you two with me, but Aebrith is just too dangerous."

"We'll move to Leam," Morg countered back. "Then we'll at least be on the same continent and when you're done with each little mission you go on you can come back and-"

Alibaba shook his head. "I don't think Leam will be very safe for long. Reports are coming in more frequently of attacks on all sides of Leam's borders. The Resistance is shrinking, Dany does not want to come to their aid, and I understand why considering what they're up against. I don't want to put all our people at risk by fighting with them as the King of Rhodar. I don't want people following me into this fight. I don't want them getting hurt, especially not you two." He brought a hand to his daughter's cheek while reaching up and pressing the other against Morgiana's.

Morg leaned into his hand and closed her eyes, taking in his warmth. She frowned deeply and finally whispered, "I do not want to lose you again." Alibaba winced as she mentioned it, and he stared at her shaking eyelids. "At the time we got brought here from our world, you were dead. Then you got married to someone else to protect our people. And now," Morg clenched her fists at her sides and her eyes snapped open again. "Why do you keep doing this?"

Alibaba felt his heart hurt at the question, and he heard sniffling on his lap as his daughter was about to cry. "I do it because I love you," he replied. "I want the world we live in, that we'll grow old together in, that our daughter and any other kids we might have will grow up in, I want it to be a better world than the one we're currently in." He stood up and picked his daughter up with him, resting her head on his shoulder while he pet the back of her head through light pink hair. He stepped towards Morg to close the distance and spoke softer, "When Ally grows up I want her to see the world around her and be proud of us for making it that way. If she knew I was a King, and had power, but let the terrible things going on in this world continue without even trying to stop it, I think she would be ashamed in me. I can't bear to imagine that."

"Me neither," Morg agreed softly. "But that's why I want to help you." He opened his mouth but she shut him up with a finger on his lips. "You're not very capable on your own. You've always needed help whether it be me, or Aladdin, or Toto, or any of your other friends. You'll never find Aladdin on your own."

Alibaba scratched the back of his head as she did have a point there. Morg continued, "We might miss her first words, and we might regret it, but if you go, I go. Ally will be safe in Balbadd, but if I let her father go to Aebrith alone, I'll lose you again."

"I won't die-" Alibaba began.

"I know you won't," she interrupted. "Because I won't let you."

Alibaba heard soft breathing coming from his shoulder and he lowered his gaze to see their daughter's eyes closed right above his shoulder where her chin was resting. He looked from the girl to her mother who she resembled so strongly. His mouth opened, then closed, and he frowned but Morg was not budging. This is it then. My decision. Is this really the right thing to do? My daughter should come before everything, right? Then how could leaving her without any parents be the right move? We won't be gone for long... but I can't say that with certainty. What if we died and Ally became an orphan? She might hear that we were great people, but she'll always hate us for leaving her. But if we don't go... if we don't go... How will I be able to look at her anymore?

Morgiana was having a similar discussion in her own mind, but she seemed to convince herself first and she snapped her gaze from her child to Alibaba's face. "Who can we leave her with?"

"Sayid and Shannon?" Alibaba suggested.

Morgiana hummed, then shook her head, "I dislike Shannon."

Alibaba held back his laughter so that he would not wake up his daughter. He whispered, "Okay then. I would say Toto, but she's got a busy life and I don't even know if she's in Balbadd right now or off on her airship."

"How about Yajirobe?" Morgiana questioned.

Alibaba's eyes lit up and he smiled at the shorter girl who smiled right back. The idea itself was almost laughable, but they did not have to think hard about it. Alibaba smirked, He stays in Balbadd all the time. He's got that kind-of Uncle personality. Ally would not be safer with anyone else in Balbadd. Alibaba chuckled and said quietly, "He does owe me one."

"Yeah! I owe you one! ONE! One favor is not an unknown amount of time raising your damn kid!" Yajirobe shouted. As soon as he shouted it, he spotted Morgiana's eyes narrow at him for putting 'damn' before 'kid,' and he instantly apologized profusely for it to her.

"Oh come on, Yajirobe. It won't be for too long," Alibaba argued. "Just think of it like babysitting. You'll watch her until we come back, which I'm almost sure we will."

"'Almost?!' That's not very reassuring!" Yajirobe yelled. "I don't know how to change diapers, or what to do if the kid starts to cry, or-"

"I will give you a crash course," Morgiana said seriously. She walked towards the door and right past the two men into Yajirobe's house. She looked around and then pointed at a sword he had leaning against the wall, "That will need to be put out of view so that she does not play around with it. Over there will be the changing station. The Kwik-E-Mart superstore chain sells diapers and the baby food that Ally needs to eat until her baby teeth have grown in some more."

Yajirobe's jaw was dropped as Morgiana explained this, then he shouted, "I said no! What don't you people get about that?!" He crossed his arms and put his fat foot down, shaking the floor.

"That's fine," Alibaba conceded and shrugged his shoulders. "But I should mention Daenerys was fine with almost all my advisors and friends staying here while we were gone." Yajirobe's crossed arms lowered and sweat covered his face. "There was one however, a lazy royal guard who she said was just taking up space and needed to be replaced. I told her he would watch my daughter, but if he really doesn't want to do it, I guess he doesn't like the all-you-can-eat buffets we have up here for every meal, or the generous paycheck we give him, or the-"

"I get it, I get it, just don't take my food," Yajirobe snapped, seemingly already hooked on Alibaba's first semi-veiled threat. "Stupid Kings and Queens and babies," Yajirobe muttered and cursed under his breath.

Morgiana heard one of these curses and she growled threateningly, "Do not curse in front of Ally, please."

Yajirobe nodded fast but then started shaking his head slower. "You two sure about leaving? We've got a great gig here!"

"We do," Alibaba agreed. "But I want to make sure that lasts a long time. I can only do that by spreading the peace." Alibaba smiled fondly at his friend who with that last question sounded like he had finally accepted their request. "Take care, Yajirobe."

"I will miss our sparring sessions," Morgiana said to the portly samurai. Yajirobe turned from Alibaba to the short girl looking up at him with a soft smile. "You taught me a lot."

"And you kicked really hard," Yajirobe responded, rubbing his left side as he felt phantom pain from the last time they sparred. "Your kid better not start hitting me. I've seen that pink hair of hers, I know she'll leave bruises."

Alibaba and Morgiana smiled at the fat man who turned away from them as this was getting too weird and mushy. "Where's Ally anyway?" He asked, for the first time using her name which made the parents smile more.

"We'll bring her here later," Alibaba replied. "We just want one more day with our daughter before we leave."

"This was suddenly sprung on me after all," Morgiana explained.

"I said you could stay!" Alibaba exclaimed as it sounded like she was blaming him for this.

The two bickered their way out Yajirobe's door, and the fat man walked back over to his couch that he was sitting on eating some chicken drumsticks before he was so rudely interrupted. "Hey Yajirobe, remember that favor?" He asked sarcastically. He chomped another piece of chicken. "Raise a brat," he muttered under his breath. "I'm no babysitter, and no father either."

Though you can't say you aren't lonely, an annoying voice in his head said. "Yeah whatever," Yajirobe mumbled, focusing his eyes back on his chicken, though his mind was for once far from food.

A/N Thanks for reading! New characters join the fray. Aladdin is apparently already over on Aebrith, and now Alibaba and Morgiana are heading over to join him. It's a real short chapter I've had written out for probably 5 years, and I finally found a good place for it in this Chapter 20, as Ichigo had stopped in Balbadd before leaving for Leam and it seemed like a good time to check back up on them. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the new chapter. And once more happy Easter everyone! 'Til next time!
