The next day, was no different.
Knuckles was walking around being his usual and goofy self.
he caught up with Tails and the girls as he waved to them.
They were discussing their plans for today. But that when Sonic runs to them.
"Hey guys!" Sonic greeted as he waved to them.
"Sonic. We told you we want time away from you." Tails said in frustration.
"Oh come on! How many days do you want away from me?!" Sonic asked in frustration.
"Sonic we said until we are ready. Which means it's not the time for you to hang out with us again." Amy said with her usual stern lecture.
"When are you going to learn to be patient Sonic?" Sticks asked as she crossed her arms.
"I thought you guys are my friends?" Sonic asked in a hurt expression.
"We are Sonic, it's just that... Don't spindash us when I say it. But we can't handle your cockiness, it's just making us nuts." Tails said begrudgingly.
"You haven't cooked for me. But you are driving me crazy." Knuckles said.
Sonic was a little hurt by what he just said. There was a silent moment.
"Wh-What? I can't believe you guys. After everything we went through. You actually want this to be longer? How can you...?" Sonic said before getting interrupted.
"Sonic! Just shut up!l Knuckles shouted.
"Look! We just can't handle your idiotic cockiness anymore!" Amy said angrily.
"It's just driving us crazy!" Sticks shouted.
"Yeah! Look Sonic! Either you stay away from us or we will not be friends anymore!" Tails threatened.
Sonic was in shock by this before he felt like he was going to cry but not show it.
He then looks at Knuckles 'who had a stern glare at him'.
"C-Can't I tell you something real quick Knux?" Sonic asked nervously and hurt.
"No. not one word out of you Sonic." Knuckles said rudely.
"Just leave us alone Sonic!" The team shouted as Knuckles pushed him away from them.
Sonic had a heartbroken expression.
"I-I just want to tell Knuckles something be..." Sonic said with a blush while looking at Knuckles.
"How about this?! We will never be friends again!" The team said 'which made them push Sonic too far'.
That did the trick, Sonic felt hurt as he stood there.
"Y-You know what? I think you got what you wanted. Goodbye." Sonic said sadly before he sniffs and walks off.
The team lied, they just wanted Sonic out of their hair. But that lie was just harsh.
Knuckles felt a little bad.
"Don't you think that was a little harsh?" Knuckles asked the group.
"Maybe. But it was the only way to get him to leave us alone. We'll probably apologize after our time away from him is done." Tails answered.
"Tails is right. After our time away we will apologize later." Amy said 'reassuring it will be okay'.
But it won't be okay. When things change between them forever.
