Summary: Naruto Uzumaki, the 7th Hokage of Konoha, Jinchūriki of Kurama, hero of the elemental nations, and good friend from many, died from a mysterious illness. Never in his imagination would he have thought to open his eyes inside the body of someone who looked exactly like himself when he was around 18 years old. "Now that's unexpected."

"Speech."

Naruto sat in a lotus position with closed eyes. Another week was over, and he still had a lot of work to do. His body felt better in general. He used every chance he got to work on his body and his chakra reserves, even when it took time.

He didn't get much new information either. So, at the moment, he could only focus and change the condition of his body. He still had trouble with standing alone, but it was better than the first time he tried to stand up.

Blue chakra surrounded Naruto like a gentle river. It was the visual detail that showed that Naruto worked on his chakra reserves. He got his hand on some brush and ink to draw a special seal he created when he was 26 on his right arm. It was tricky, but he could convince the nurse to bring him some ink, brush, and paper. He didn't need the paper… he just asked for paper, so there weren't more questions.

Naruto was currently drawing natural energy through this special seal into his body. The seal had the special function of transforming pure natural energy into a normal chakra that could fill up his chakra network.

Naruto's eyes shot open when he felt how someone appeared in the corridor outside his room out of nowhere. There was something unusual in this world. He couldn't describe it in detail, but he could tell that there were not only humans in this world. Even when humans didn't have chakra, they still had some energy inside them.

But the person who just appeared out of nowhere outside of Naruto's room didn't have the typical energy a human radiated. He didn't even know if it was normal… to be able to feel the energies of others. Maybe it was because of his sensitivity to energy sources in general. He needed to feel energies that normal people couldn't feel. It was just like his Sage training. A normal Shinobi couldn't feel the natural energy around them. Naruto couldn't feel natural energy at the beginning either. Only after countless hours of training with Fukasaku and with the help of the toad oil was he able to feel the natural energy to learn Sage Mode.

Naruto stopped what he was doing and lay down, covering himself with the blanket. He took a deep breath and faked his sleep again. He felt how the person stood there and didn't move. He wondered for a second before he felt how someone appeared beside the person out of nowhere. When the other person appeared, both began to move toward Naruto's room.

The door slowly opened to his room, and the two people walked into the room, closing the door behind them when both were inside. They walked to Naruto's bed and stopped. Just like before, he couldn't hear how they walked.

He waited for them to speak, but everything the two women did was standing there. Why woman again? Same reasons as before. He had the feeling one of the two women was the one who visited him a week ago already.

It smelled oddly familiar in the room. He could hear how something was laid on his body. It didn't weigh much… maybe a book or something. "He must remember," said one of the women.

"You know what happened. It's a miracle he is still alive after he sacrificed himself for us. I was sure he was dead for 20 minutes before he suddenly woke up a week ago," said the other woman.

"To be honest… I never liked him. But after the last battle, he showed a side never seen before. I never thought he really cared for his comrades and for the cause we fought. But he took care from behind the scenes and didn't tell anybody. We would be dead already if he didn't deal with crucial members of our enemies in the shadows."

"I know. But let's go; we have done what we came for," said the woman.

This was the last sentence he heard. He felt a mysterious energy rise in both women before they vanished in a golden light as if they both teleported away. Naruto opened both eyes and looked at the object that lay on his chest. He took the object into his hands and rose into a sitting position. He was happy that the simple movement of rising into a sitting position didn't ache everywhere in his body.

'Legacy of the Assassin King?' thought Naruto. He didn't know what this meant, but he had a certain clue.

Naruto opened the book and began to read. This was something he hoped for. He didn't know he would come across such information this early. He thought he needed to recover first, leave the hospital, train his body more to be able to defend himself against the dangers of this world, and search for information the old-fashioned way.

Naruto already thought that this book would contain information about how the people of this world use chakra… it was primitive, to say the least. They weren't even close to the knowledge Naruto had about chakra manipulation. For starters: They didn't know that chakra could be turned into an element. This book only had basic knowledge about chakra manipulation. There stood nothing about any form of "special" chakra like elemental chakra, sage chakra, or even ying and yang chakra.

Naruto remembered what one of the women said…

The Naruto Uzumaki from this world was dead for 20 minutes. This meant that the Naruto Uzumaki from this world most likely really died after eight months of coma. Naruto somehow was "placed" inside the body of this young man who just died. He wondered if this was all a setup from someone else. He wouldn't put it past someone with enough power.

When he thought about Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, who placed the entire world into an illusion that couldn't be broken unless someone had a Rinnegan, he was sure this world also had god-like entities who could do something like that.

There would only remain the question of why he was placed into the already dead body of Naruto Uzumaki from this world. He read through the rest of the book, and when he came to the last page, his eyes widened.

'So you also exist in this world… Kurama,' thought Naruto. As it turned out, he was the last guardian of the so-called Nine Divine Beasts of Creation. He could only think about Shukaku, Matatabi, Isobu, Son Goku, Kokuō, Seiken, Chomei, Gyūki, and Kurama.

The Assassin King was also part of the Uzumaki clan, a clan of so-called "Assassins" who used chakra to enhance their physical abilities and swordsmanship. It was one of the most basic methods to use chakra… but as it turned out, the people of this world weren't this far when it came to chakra usage.

Naruto was truly an anomaly in this world so far.

This book was the best thing that happened to him right now. This way, he found out a few important things about Naruto Uzumaki from this world.

It looked like Naruto would once again train to be a Shinobi/Ninja/Assassin… however, someone wants to call it that. Still, since it was clearly stated as Assassin, Naruto would say he would train to become an Assassin.

He placed the book on an invisible seal on his left arm and channeled chakra into the seal, letting the book vanish in a little smoke screen.

He had already set a goal for his life in this world. The original role of the Naruto Uzumaki of this world was to guard the seals where the Nine Divine Beasts of Creation were sealed. He had to make sure the seals wouldn't be discovered and broken.

The original Naruto Uzumaki might have done his duty, but the Naruto Uzumaki from the elemental nations wouldn't do this. He would most likely make a stupid decision again, but it was who he was. He wouldn't tolerate this situation when he was ready.

He would free the Nine Divine Beasts of Creation. He wasn't so sure what he would do in this world, but Naruto Uzumaki had found a new goal. He would free those nine, even when he would need to fight against a few people in the process. He still had chakra and, with it, all the tools he needed to raise his strength once again and regain parts of his old skill set. It wouldn't be easy by any means, but he would train like always with the will to never give up.

Naruto lay down and tried to sleep. Now that he had a set goal in mind, he would recover faster than before. He would place all his efforts into recovering.

'Wait Kurama… I will free you one day. You and your siblings,' thought Naruto before he began to sleep.
