Three days Later

Yugao, from the shadows, watched as Mika flew through the written assessment exam that Iida sensei had him start. Designed to assess the boys understanding of the the medical world, it was mostly a way to ensure they knew what the boy needed to learn or focus on. It also was complete with a chakra control exam, including separating water and tea from each other ( Something most jonin struggled with).

To her amazement, Mika actually was scored a eighty percent on his exam, something most new medics even with studying only achieved a forty seven on on average.

'He said he read a lot, we really underestimated what he managed to learn.'

Iida, smirking, said. "Kid, you are more than welcome as a medic. Sweet Kami, you have the highest academic score I've seen for a medic hopeful and your chakra control is in the eighty fifth percentile. There is some room to work, a lot of it, but still you will excel one way or another.

I own you from eight to twelve each morning, and from one to five you will work as a D rank level Aide. Except to learn a ton, from chakra control, to evasion and taijutsu, to a lot of academic work."

Mika nodded, eyes sharp. "Sounds right up my alley."

Mika was exhausted by early Sunday, his one day off. Working as a medic in training or with Yugao in combat or in his own training with genjutsu and the body flicker... it was a lot. Too much in some ways, but he really had no choice. He had a path to walk, or run really, and that was that.

To take the edge off, he took a gentle walk to his favorite dumpling shop. Half asleep, he barely managed to dodge Hinata Hyuuga as she walked out of a sweets shop. "Sorry, Hinata."

She smiled at him, she always smiled at everyone. "It is okay, it was my fault."

It was about then that he noticed the slight bruising on her face, a pin prick sized bruise that had burns around it. Frowning, he asked. "Are you alright? That bruise looks painful."

"What brui-" She stopped, hand reaching toward her face, showing him the bloody bandages around her palms. "Oh that, it was... a..."

From his pouch, he pulled out a cream. "Hinata, this can heal basic wounds, including the damage to your palms. Actually, I can apply it if you'd like?" She actually whimpered, before nodding.

"Hinata, what are you..." A woman said, startling them both as he started to apply the balm to Hinata's horribly torn hands. "Who's this?"

"Mika, he graduated with me."

Kurenai's eyes went wide. "Yugao's new apprentice?"

Mika nodded, as he examined the girl's hands. "Yes, ma'am. Are you her friend?"

"Yes, good friends." She said as Mika rebandaged Hinata's hands. "Thank you, she did say you were working to become a medic."

"I try." He smiled at Hinata and Kurenai. "You might want to rest for a day or two, let your body heal."

Kurenai sighed. "That is what we've been doing, I took her out for sweets as a reward for her hard training." She smiled at him, warm as Yugao would. "I have an interesting idea. Yugao said evasion is a key aspect of your combat style, perhaps you'd like to train with Hinata sometimes?"

Though Hinata looked on confused, he just nodded. "I'd like that." He smiled at Hinata, making her smile back. "I always wanted to spar with you, but I am not great at making friends."

"Wonderful. I'll set it up with Yugao. We do have to go though, so see you later?"

Mika bowed. "So it seems."

And off he went, oddly hopeful. 'Who knows what I will become, with Hinata's help...'
