The next morning Oliver was sitting on the edge of his bed. He sighed. It had been a crazy night. Someone tried to kill him and he had a suspicion he knew who ordered the man to try to kill him. It had to be Evelyn Merlyn. They're last meeting didn't exactly go well. He was just glad Felicity wasn't here when it happened. He looked at the photo of them on his bedside table. He was going to tell her the truth but he chickened out. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't keep lying to her but if he told her and she got hurt trying to help him he could never live with himself. Then there was her father who hated him. He'd have to figure out something. Oliver walked over to his desk and opened the drawer. He dug through it until he pulled out what he was looking for. The sonogram of his baby girl that he would never get to meet. He kissed it and held it close to his chest. Just then something on the floor caught his eye. He walked over and picked it up. It was a pouch. He looked at it memories coming back to him.

The man helped Oliver back into the cave. He laid him down. Oliver groaned in pain. "I tell you island dangerous but you not tell them where to find me" the man said. Oliver looked up at him. "You stronger than I thought" the man said pulling out a pouch and holding it above Oliver. "Take it. I lead them off. You stay" the man said as Oliver grabbed the pouch. The man started to walk out of the cave. "Remember everything breathe. You breathe, you survive here longer" the man said continuing to leave the cave.
Oliver tried to stand struggling. The man walked out of the cave. Oliver finally got up. "I'm coming with you" he said. A rock fell in front of the entrance of the cave trapping Oliver inside.
Oliver heard a knock at his door bringing him out of his thoughts. He turned around and saw Laurel walking into the room. "Rough party" Oliver said.
"My father told me what happened. Are you OK" Laurel asked.
"Yea I'm fine" Oliver answered.
Laurel walked deeper into the room. "These are your polygraph results" she said holding up the paper in her hand and walking over to Oliver.
"My father asked you if you've ever been to iron heights. It's the prison where the vigilante saved me, Sara and Felicity last week. It's also where you Felicity and Sara went on your eighth grade field trip" Laurel said. Oliver just stared at her. "When you said you had never been there I thought maybe you were just nervous or that you'd forgotten but then I looked at your results and there is a slight flutter in your answer to that question and if you lied on one you could have lied on others" Laurel said.
Oliver shook his head. "You were right the first time. I just forgot about that" Oliver lied.
"Oliver I don't know what to believe" Laurel said.
Oliver walked closer to Laurel. "Do you want to know why I don't talk about me there" Oliver asked. Laurel just looked at him waiting for him to continue. "If people knew, if Felicity knew, she'd see me differently. You all would and not as some vigilante guy but as damaged. I don't sleep. I barely eat. I can barely sign my name let alone aim a bow and arrow" Oliver said.
"Oliver I'm sorry for what you went through. I truly am but I have a favor to ask" Laurel said.
"What is it" Oliver asked.
"Whatever you do, however damaged you are do what's right for Felicity" Laurel said. Oliver looked at her sadly. "I know you guys love each other but I don't know if you two being together is really the best thing for either one of you. Whatever you do take Felicity's feelings into account. I can't stand to see her hurt like she was when she lost you" Laurel said.
"Trust me the last thing I want to do is hurt Felicity" he said. Laurel nodded and handed him the results. She left the room.
At the lair, Oliver was carrying a crate to a table. "So you lied to her or maybe you just gave her a version of the truth" Diggle said.
"I told her what she needed to hear Diggle. She was too close" Oliver said.
Diggle got up from his seat and walked toward Oliver. "The sad thing is I think you actually believe that. I think things didn't go down exactly as you planned. You didn't count on so many people having questions. Doubting you. You didn't think about what happens when you lie. Especially when you lie to the ones you love the most. When you were stuck on that island plotting your grand plan to save the city I don't think you stopped to consider the effect it would have on the people in your life or how it might hurt them" Diggle said.
"Your wrong. I think about it all the time and just to be clear not being able to tell my family the truth, not being able to tell Felicity the truth, it doesn't hurt anyone worse then it hurts me" Oliver said.
"Speaking of Felicity, when are you going to tell her like we talked about" Diggle asked.
Oliver shook his head looking away from Diggle. "I can't" Oliver said.
"Oliver…" Diggle started to say but Oliver interrupted him.
"I can't have her look at me differently. I can't lose her. I won't" Oliver said.
Diggle sighed. "I think you should give her more credit. She would be able to handle it and she'd still stay by your side" Diggle said.
Oliver looked at Diggle. "What if she gets hurt because I told her? I couldn't live with myself if something happened to her because of me" Oliver said.
Diggle nodded. "She deserves to know" he said.
"I know" Oliver said sadly.
"I think eventually you're going to have to make a choice. Either tell her and stay with her or give her up" Diggle said. Just then the computer binged. Oliver looked at it and his eyes went wide. "What is it" Diggle asked.
Oliver grabbed his hood. "Felicity's about to get herself into trouble" Oliver said.
"Oliver what do you mean" Diggle asked.
"She's about to meet with Leo Muller" Oliver said.
Felicity pulled up to the warehouse Bruce said to meet. She looked at her phone to see if she got a message from him. There was no message but a news article popped up about Superman. Apparently he stopped another one of Lex Luthor's insane plans. Felicity smiled. That man deserved to be in prison. She heard about the vigilante stopping a gang earlier in the night. Maybe she was wrong and he wasn't Oliver. She got out of the car and walked back to the trunk. She took out the box that had the acid flower in it. She walked into the warehouse unaware Oliver was up in the rafters watching her. She looked around but didn't see Bruce anywhere. She pulled out her phone and was about to call him. "Ms. Lance" someone said.
Felicity turned around and saw a bunch of men standing around her all holding guns. "Who are you" she asked.
The man smiled at her creepily. "Leo Muller and I believe you have something that doesn't belong to you" he said looking at the box in her arms.
Felicity held it closer to her. "It doesn't belong to you either" she said.
"No but the Joker wants it back. Now put it on the floor and walk away or we'll have to take it from you forcefully" Leo said.
Felicity looked around at the men around her. She couldn't give them the flower just for them to give it back to the Joker. Felicity shook her head. "No I think I'll keep it" she said. Leo nodded.
"OK suit yourself. You've made your choice" Leo said as him and the men around him all raised their guns and pointed them at Felicity. Oliver jumped down in front of the men while the two masked people who he had fought before ran out of their hiding spot and ran over to Felicity. One of them pulled Felicity behind a crate.
"Stay here" one of them said. Felicity noticed that their voice was distorted. One of the people holding the guns pointed his gun at Oliver but Oliver pushed it away and punched him hard sending him to the floor. Everyone started shooting while Oliver ran behind a crate. Oliver came out and shot two arrows at one of the men which pinned them to a crate by their neck.
Oliver shot another man who fell to the floor dead. Oliver threw his bow at another man and jumped out kicking him into a vehicle that was in the warehouse. He quickly grabbed his bow from the ground and hopped over the vehicle as the men shot at him. He ran above the crates. Leo Muller said something in German to his men. He looked at the two masked people. "Find him" he said. The two masked people ran into the shadows. Leo's two men snuck up to a crate and looked behind it. There was no one there. Just then Oliver jumped down from the top of the crate. He shot an arrow at Leo who had pulled out a gun. He easily took care of Leo's two men and looked over at Leo. Before he could do anything the two masked people surprised him and started to attack him. He managed to get the upper hand and shot an arrow at them tying them to a pole. He would deal with them after he dealt with Leo Mueller. Leo held up his hands scared for his life. Oliver turned around and pointed his arrow at Leo Mueller. "Leo Mueller, you have failed this city" Oliver said.
"Stop" he heard someone yell. He saw Felicity running up to him. She slowly approached him. "You don't have to do this. Just let the cops deal with this. You're not this bad person everyone makes you out to be. I know you're not. Please just let the cops deal with this" Felicity said reaching her hand out to his face. Oliver closed his eyes. He wanted more than anything to be the man she believed he was but he couldn't. That wasn't who he was. The faster Felicity accepted that the less it would hurt in the end. He heard Laurel's voice in his head telling him not to hurt her and Diggle's voice that he might have to lose her. He opened his eyes and saw her beautiful kind compassionate eyes looking into his. He loved her so much but sometimes when you loved something you had to let it go. I'm sorry Felicity he thought in his head. He turned toward Leo Mueller and shot him killing him. Felicity gasped. Oliver turned around and was shocked to see the ropes cut and the two masked people gone. He ran out of the warehouse without looking back at Felicity. Felicity just stood there stunned. She couldn't believe what she just saw. She knew he had killed before but that was in self-defense or in defense of her where he had no choice. He killed Leo Mueller in cold blood while he was defenseless. Maybe she was wrong about the vigilante. Maybe he wasn't the man she though he was.
