A couple months passed. After Rapunzel and Cassandra defeated Zhan Tiri, and fixed the castle was was nearly obliterated by her giant claws, Cassandra walked out, wishing Rapunzel luck, as she went on her own adventure. Rapunzel didn't really want to see her go, but she knew that it's what Cassandra needed.

Cassandra was her lady in waiting. Except, with her now absent, she had to find another. But, Cassandra was never considered a lady in waiting. She was always thought of as a friend, a sister.

Eugene was rather happy she was gone, but he started missing her snarky remarks about him eventually, but he told Rapunzel to keep it to herself.

It does feel nice to have short hair again, although, sometimes there is the phantom feeling of her long, golden hair.

Varian was appointed, well, not technically, but he likes to think so, as the kingdom alchemist. He built a furnace recently that warms up water, he said so they could have warm showers. Rapunzel gives him ideas for new inventions, but he usually ends up telling her that it's already been invented, backed up by Eugene.

Lance, Red and Angry have been enjoying a nice, calm life as a new family. Lance longs for Adira nearly everyday, the kids encouraging him to talk to her, but he always turns them down, explaining how she's always too good for him.

All this is not the way it's supposed to be. Happy. Peaceful. Exciting. Comfortable. Nice. It's all too much. It's disgusting. It's too joyous. It's too jubilant. If she had her way, things would be much better. Corona would no longer be. King Frederic would either bow to her, or be dead. Queen Arianna would be her slave. And Rapunzel. Rapunzel would be dead. Cassandra already failed in completing that plan. The only one who trusted her.

Wait, she wasn't the only one. There was another. That kid. He's the one who used the idea she gave him. She told him about a secret incantation, and he looked for it and found it. He's the only one who knows how to read Damanicus' writing. He was the only one able to translate the scroll. He's the smartest person alive, and knows more about Damanicus than anyone else in the whole world. He's perfect.

What was his name again? Eh, his name isn't important. All that's important is that she can use him. She can manipulate him. She can do what she wants, and nothing can stop her. All she needs now is to use the small shard of that lady's sword.

The Shadow Blade. The Shadow Blade was carefully crafter from the black rocks, generated from the Moonstone. The only unbreakable rock in all of history. Until the only thing that could break it came about. The Sundrop. She thought she was invincible. She thought she was unstoppable. She thought the Sundrop was destroyed a long, long time ago, when Damanicus trapped her. Once it returned, she was overjoyed. She could have her full power back, and nothing could stop her.

All thanks to that kid, who actually figured out how to use that incantation, she would've been unstoppable if not for the Lost Princess. Things went downhill all because she tricked that kid into doing what she wanted.

If she wants to win again, the only way to insure her victory is through that kid. That kid is the only way she can win. She's down to her last speck of black rocks. She has to make this count. And, besides. The black rock can become the next Moonstone, if she does her procedure correctly. Her plan has to be perfect. Flawless. Impeccable. All needs to be just right for this to proceed as she wants. And nothing can get in her way. Not even the kid.

Author's Note

This story is actually inspired off of a fanart I saw once on Pinterest but I can't find it. I thought it'd be a fun experiment. It's partly inspired off of...well, I don't want to give it away quite yet, so I'll just say, inspired from Owl House.
I hope this goes well, and I hope you enjoy it!
