At first, I may not know my PBS station.

There are a lot of PBS stations across the states.

In the beginning, there was a way to find your local station by calling: '1800-PBS-2925' (That was part of the late past to the 2000s).

Today, we are online and have devices to find our PBS station.

How can I be sure to find my local PBS station? Easy. I go to . Next, I have two options. Either type my zip code or select a state.

If I select by browsing a state from Alabama to Wyoming, then I know what my state is.

If I find my PBS station, my zip code has to be five number initials: It's "11221".

Now, my home state is New York. My city borough is Brooklyn.

If I did both, then I was surprised to see that my station from the three locals: WNET, WLIW, AND WNJN.

So I choose one, it's WNET AKA Thirteen. Why? Because this station is broadcast from the boroughs of NYC to originally from Newark, New Jersey which is a sister station to NJN to NJ PBS.

WNET represents "We're National Educational Television". For WNET, this represents "We're New Educational TV". Call letters repersent the letter W.

So in conclusion, my PBS station is WNET in New York. Thanks to PBS, I can enjoy the best of New York City shows including "Pioneers of Thirteen", "Archives", for PBS there is " American Masters", "Great Performances", "Charlie Rose", "Amanpour and Company", "Nature", and even "Firing Line with Margaret Hoover". For PBS kids, there is "Cyberchase".

For the announcer, there is Tom Stewart of WNET. NICE for him to hear him since I was a kid.
