At around noon on Saturday, crowds of people start getting off the cruise ships that arrive at Swallow Falls and headed into town. A sign above them that read "WELCOME TOURISTS!" that had other greetings in different languages below it.

Oversized appetizers rain above them as someone caught a shrimp and spoke, "Looks safe to me."

"And sanitary too!"

Today was the day, the grand reopening of ChewAndSwallow, Mirabel and Sam were in the Weather News Network van, getting ready for the report.

Mirabel was making a stuffed jaguar for her new cousin, who was about to be five years old next year in May as she watched Sam put on and take off her glasses.

She finished the stuffed jaguar and walked over to Sam as she put her hand as her shoulder and said, "Keep 'em on, Sam. It makes you who you are."

Sam gratefully smiled at her daughter figure, putting on her glasses. She looked at the reflection of the TV screen for a moment before her eyes widen.

Mirabel looked at Sam in confusion and they turn around, looking at a machine called the Doppler Weather Radar 2000 Turbo sitting on the desk behind them.

Sam grabbed the radar and opened it as Mirabel heard the beeping from it.

"You get it working?" Mirabel asked.

"Uh…" Sam muttered, worried.

"What is it?" Mirabel asked as she looked at the screen, her and Sam's eyes widening each when they see the information, causing them to look at one another in fear.

The vision that Bruno had that Julieta talked about in the letter, it was true!

The crowd cheered as Mayor Shelbourne rode on his scooter up the stage and said, "Who's hungry? Welcome, tourists, to ChewAndSwallow!"

"That is one big mayor," A French man said in the crowd.

"Delight in our nacho cheese hot springs," Mayor Shelbourne said.

In a pool of nacho cheese, a man covered in cheese dipped his elbow in a bowl of nachos and licked them as he ate some.

"Allow your kids can eat all the junk food they want in our completely unsupervised kid zone!" Mayor Shelbourne continued.

"I got jelly beans for teeth!" Cal said with jelly beans in his teeth as he went crazy from all of the sugar.

Mirabel and Sam push their way through the crowd, trying to get to the stage, so they could talk to Flint before he had to go on. Soon another, they get close enough to see Flint behind the small curtain.

"And when the fun is done, gaze upon the sunset cresting over Mount Leftovers, from which we're protected by a presumably indestructible dam," Mayor Shelbourne still continued as the outtasighter launched some food to a mountain off leftover food that was behind a dam. "We've got people here today from all around the world, from as far as China to West Virginia."

They arrive at the stage and spot Flint trying to pat his hair down, using his saliva to help. To Mirabel, he kind of rocked that look, she was not lying.

"Flint," Sam called, trying to get his attention.

Flint gasped in surprise, looking over at Sam and Mirabel.

"You need to look at this," Sam pleaded, mentioning the radar.

"Why aren't you on TV? You're supposed to be broadcasting this," Flint said as he glanced around, nervously chuckling.

Sam slowly opened the radar and said, "There's a problem, we think the food's getting bigger-"

Flint closed it with a smile and replied, "I know, it's great. Bigger portions sizes, everyone loves it."

Mirabel took the radar from Sam and opened it as she started, "Flint, I'm not sure we're doing the right thing here."

Flint closed it again as he said, "Sam, Mira-"

Sam cut Flint off, grabbing his hand as she asked, "Flint, what if we've bitten off more than we can chew?"

Flint pulled Sam's hand away, groaning as he rolled his eyes and said, "For the first time in my life, everybody loves something that I've done. Why can't you two just be happy for me and go help with the weather or something? Jeez."

Sam softly gasped, feeling extremely hurt before her gaze turned into a small glare.

"I congratulated him for doing this and I regret it now," Mirabel hissed, crossing her arms.

"And without further ado, our town's hero and my metaphorical son, Flint Lockwood!" Mayor Shelbourne announced.

Right at that moment, Flint jumped through the curtain with a huge grin on his face, the crowd cheering in response.

"Yeah, Flint!" Someone shouted.

"Thank you, thank you, everyone!" Flint thanked, absorbing the attention.

Sam huffed and grumbled, "So much for a leap of faith."

Mirabel watched Sam walk away and asked, "Sam, where are you doing?"

Sam turned to Mirabel and replied, "I'm going to turn off the machine. I don't care what Flint says, or the town, but this is going too far. I have to discover the kill code, I have to shut it off. Otherwise, the food could get even worse."

"You do know there's a chance that Flint could hate you, right?" Mirabel asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"I know, but he's chosen what he really cares about," Sam pointed out.

Flint turned toward the ribbon, holding up the golden scissors. Closing his eyes, Flint cut the ribbon and the crowd cheered behind him, not knowing the storm was going to happen.
