"Those eyes…" Hikari looked at Daisuke. "This power… a strange power. Much different than your crests. Tell me… how did you such power?"
Daisuke smirked, "I haven't told anyone. I won't tell you, but my Hikari-san."
"How many times to I must warn you… she. Is. Gone!" A wave of black water appeared in front of Hikari, threatening to engulf everyone.
Both of Daisuke's eyes shifted to the blue moon and suddenly the wave was destroyed before it could impact any of them. Hikari and Dagomon both looked with wide eyes.
Taichi, Takeru, Yamato, and Mimi all stared in shock at Daisuke. "I can't beat both of them on my own." Daisuke said as they all looked at him, "I need all of your help…"
Taichi got up, "w-what do we do?"
Daisuke turned to him, staring at him with the blue moon eye, "you do whatever it takes to reach her."
Dagomon roared out as he took out his trident, he pulled it back. Daisuke put his hand towards him. His eyes shifting to the orange sun symbols. Orbs of light fire emitted, but suddenly the sun symbol appeared and turned them massive. Dagomon's eyes widened before Daisuke fired his cannons of beams, amplified by his 'sun' powers at Dagomon. Dagomon roared out in agony as the beams ripped through him.
"Master Dagomon!" Hikari screamed in shock.
Taichi grit his teeth, "but we can't do what you can do."
Daisuke glanced over, "don't think about your Digimon or the minor Digital Force energy you have. Think about your crests. Remember, you're the Chosen Children."
Daisuke created a platform and began to bounce his way around Hikari.
Hikari narrowed her eyes and frowned before raising her hand. The Hangyomon all jumped out, surrounding Daisuke. Daisuke manifested a blade and quickly cut them all down.
Taichi clenched his fist, "what do you mean… I don't know what you mean…" he said.
"Taichi-san…" Mimi walked over, "you need to focus. Come on."
"I can't figure it out. I came here confident that we could save Miyuki. And I needed to be saved by my sister anyways." Mimi frowned as Taichi gritted his teeth. "What can I do?"
"Have hope in yourself," Taichi looked to the side where Takeru watched Daisuke cut down the Hangyomon surrounding him. "The Dark Ocean said it itself… it used our negative feelings towards Daisuke against us." Taichi didn't say a word, only still silently looking at Daisuke fight. Takeru marched to Taichi, grabbing his shoulders. "Look at me!" Takeru demanded and Taichi listening. "He is now fighting! He is giving his life to make sure he saves Hikari-san and Miyuki-san. Courage…! That's your crest right!? Why can't you see that right now."
Taichi glanced back at Daisuke. "Taichi…" Taichi touched his ear hearing Sora. "Stop being scared, no, stop trying to not be scared. You were always ever brave. Mistakes or regrets. You are not alone. You don't have to face something alone. You taught me that so many times."
Taichi closed his eyes, "right." He opened them and began to run towards Miyuki. It left everyone stunned before Taichi screamed back, "Miyuki-san is the only way we can save Hikari-san!" He looked up to see the Hangyomon jumped towards him.
"Don't be afraid, we believe in you, Taichi-san!" Sora said.
Taichi felt as if his body began to surge with a newfound energy. He didn't see it, but a symbol appeared on his chest of the crest of Courage. Hangyomon reached for Taichi as suddenly a transparent orange shield with the crest of Courage appeared. The Hangyomon's hand suddenly burst into a bright flame, a complete contrast to the monochromatic color.
"No way," Hikari said seeing Taichi run past groups of Hangyomon. She was about to put her hand forward to summon a wave, but Daisuke appeared in front of her to her surprise. She howled angrily as a wave followed him around.
Taichi kept on running as suddenly he felt his legs slow down. He looked down and saw himself sinking to what seemed the Ocean.
"Try to protect yourself from this!" Dagomon, still reforming himself, arose a distance away.
Taichi smirked, "Haven't you been paying attention! I am not afraid! I know I have friends on my side."
Suddenly Yamato appeared and made a platform underneath and bounced him and Taichi up. Yamato chest glowed with the crest of Friendship.
Dagomon roared out angrily and pulled out his trident. The waves of the Ocean crashed with his anger as he threw the trident. Taichi and Yamato didn't even flinch as a vine of green energy grabbed the trident and threw it back at Dagomon. The vine came from Mimi, "that is the Ocean's weakness… it tells lies. And nothing makes it weaker than someone over come those lies." Her hand suddenly burst with green energy vines that were wrapped around Dagomon.
"You use our negative emotions and memories against us. But you need to understand, those will be a part of us. They make us who we are. You fear who we are. You fear who Hikari-san really is."
"Stop!" Hikari screamed as she kept trying to summon a wave, but Daisuke would use his blue moon eye to destroy the wave.
"Don't you get it! We never given up before!" Takeru yelled out. "Everything we faced together! And we never stopped facing it together. Hikari-san! You're in there! You know this more than everyone! You were never alone! You always had us or Miyuki-san by your side through your worst."
Taichi and Yamato kept fighting their way through hoards of Hangyomon. "It's the love we have for each other, we have always fought cause of it!"
"That's right!" Mimi screamed put as she used her vines to push Dagomon away. "You can never understand how we all love each other! Even the ones who can't be here fighting are always by our side!"
"We will learn from each other! We will rely on each other!" Yamato screamed out as he summed beams to shoot away Hangyomon.
"Those are our values as Chosen Children, Hikari-san!" Takeru screamed as Hikari flinched for the first time stunned. Her eyes began to shift back to her original brunette eyes.
"Hikari-san!" Mimi yelled out, "Miyuki-san wants her mom back! You cannot leave her behind!"
"M-Miyuki-san," Hikari grabbed the edge of her face. Daisuke stood back, fighting off the waves of the ocean. "She's going to be safe… I gave up in order…"
"She needs you!" Yamato replied, "she will always need you! You are her mother!"
Taichi jumped off a platform he formed to Miyuki. He reached for her as she flinched back.
"Miyuki…" Taichi said, "it's okay to be afraid, it's okay if you're scared right now. It's scary isn't it…"
Miyuki nodded.
Taichi smiled warmly, "I'm scared too, but… I'm also not scared. I have my friends by my side. We believe in each other and love each other. I believe in you, Miyuki-san. You're the one who can save your mother."
Miyuki sniffled, "I want to save mommy," she said before reaching over. Suddenly the monochromatic color around Miyuki began to fade. Taichi looked in awe as he could see the crest of Courage and Friendship appear in her chest. As her hand finally met Taichi's, the crest of Light formed above the other two.
Right, how could I be so blind… Taichi thought as Miyuki began to glow bright. It was you Miyuki-san. When the darkness that was Daisuke's disappearance happened, you became the light. The light to give us the courage to move forward.
A memory of an infant Miyuki smiling as Taichi carried her for the time.
The light that reminded us of our Friendship as Chosen Children.
A memory of a two-year-old Miyuki clapping as Yamato playing guitar.
We learned from that light.
A memory of a three-year-old Miyuki grabbing Koushiro's keyboard who was nervous about it.
It was pure and we embraced it.
A memory of a two-year-old Miyuki sitting as Mimi began to buy her towers of clothes.
It was love and we couldn't let it go.
A memory of an infant Miyuki holding Sora's finger tightly.
We relied on it…
A recent memory of Miyuki sniffling as Jyou smiles giving her a shot on her arm.
You gave us hope…
A recent memory of Miyuki grumbling as Takeru put on a bucket hat.
Your kindness…
A recent memory of Iori, pregnant Miyako, and Ken surrounding Miyuki as she opened her Christmas presents.
Taichi found himself in a white void. He turned around to see Daisuke standing there too. Both their eyes suddenly met as Taichi's eyes widened with a realization. He winced, "you… you knew it was Miyuki who could save Hikari-san, huh?"
Daisuke blinked before smirking.
…was a miracle
Taichi returned to reality as he saw an orb of light shining in front of him. The light dimmed to reveal Miyuki, now with color, as she had a bright light surrounding her.
"Uncle Taichi," Miyuki looked at her hands, "I feel… warm."
"And bright," Taichi chuckled as reached to touch Miyuki's cheek. He could see her light making the monochromatic go away. "Miyuki-san, the day you were born you saved us. You saved your mom. Do you want to do it again?"
Miyuki looked with a tear forming down her face. "I want to save mommy!" Suddenly her light screeched out, burning away all the Dark Ocean nearby. The Hangyomon melted instantly as Dagomon covered himself from the light.
Bright wings appeared behind Miyuki's back. By instinct alone, Miyuki began to soar towards Hikari. Hikari, the whole time, was stunned as she watched the power of the Dark Ocean overwhelmed by Miyuki's light.
Hikari watched Miyuki draw closer. "No, don't get near…" as Hikari put her hand up, ready to the command to Ocean to protect her, Daisuke grabbed her hand. She gasped as she looked at Daisuke before turning to see the overwhelming light from Miyuki engulf her.
She gritted her teeth and took a step back. "Get away from me!" Darkness surrounded Hikari for a moment before it broke away, at the same time her scales began to burn off. "I don't want this…" Hikari began try to wave away the light, but it only turned her webbed hands and feet back to normal. "I said…" Hikari's eyes turned back slowly. She fell on her knees. "I don't want this."
Like a warm blanket after a cold day, Hikari felt someone embracing her. She opened her eyes to see Miyuki holding her. "How…" Hikari touched Miyuki's cheek remembering holding her when she was born. Remembering when Miyuki first walked. Remembering her first day at school with a smile. "How could I not want this?" Miyuki's smile as an infant until now replayed, "the light that is my daughter, Miyuki."
Hikari leaned her forward against Miyuki. "Mommy," Miyuki whispered, "I want you to be happy."
Hikari smiled wide, "I know honey…" as Hikari remembered all the smiles she had with Miyuki from the moment she was born. "You always wanted me to be happy… and I was… and I am."
The noise of the crashing Ocean brought her to reality where Hikari gasped. She looked to see Miyuki smiling at her with tears forming around her eye. "Mommy."
"Miyuki-san!" Hikari hugged Miyuki tightly.
Taichi, Yamato, Takeru, and Mimi could all sigh a breath of relief in the distance. Daisuke, who stood beside them, smiled. Hikari turned over to look at him. Both looked at each other in the eye, "I…"
Suddenly the group shook as Hikari held Miyuki tightly, she turned to see Dagomon rising in the distance angrily. Daisuke stepped forward as his eyes turned to the blue moon and orange sun. "You think this is over! The Ocean will always exist! As long as the world always has doubt. As long as darkness continues to exist! The Dark Ocean will always be."
Daisuke stepped forward, "both of you stay back."
"Dai-san!" Miyuki reached as Hikari held her.
"Daisuke-san…" Hikari said.
Daisuke turned back with a smile, "I'll be alright."
Daisuke was suddenly engulfed by a wave of the ocean.
"Dai-kun!" Hikari screamed.
Daisuke was surrounded by darkness. "Oh… so confident to face it…" Daisuke could see red eyes in the void. "Now we have you! You think we are afraid of you! You have darkness in your heart."
"For the longest time…" Daisuke interrupted, shocking Dagomon. "For the longest time I thought the Dark Ocean was epitome of evil. I couldn't help myself to think that though, Ken was even afraid of you. But I learned something much worse." The sound of chains filled Daisuke's head.
"The Dark Ocean consumes all that is despair…"
"You're not listening!" Daisuke eyes glared with orange sun and blue moon. "Dagomon, right? I have been in an abyss of darkness and climbed out of it. This Dark Ocean is nothing." Daisuke said as Dagomon appeared in front of him. "You crossed a line when you took my daughter and then used her to take Hikari-san. I have no remorse in what I'm about to do!" Daisuke's eyes began to glow their respective colors.
"What?" Dagomon said and suddenly he felt hands reach for him. He turned and saw something grabbed onto him. He looked down and saw many different looking humans with black eyes and vicious grins on their face begin to pull him down. "No! The Dark Ocean is an abyss! I command it."
Daisuke tilted his head, "I have seen something that could eat the abyss. And it will consume you for eternity!"
"No! I can't fall like this! I can't! I don't want this!"
"You signed your fate the moment you crossed me. Now time to pay the price. For eternity." Daisuke glared as a frightened Dagomon began to descent into darkness. Dagomon screamed out in fear and agony, but the scream would soon fade into the abyss.
Daisuke closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He felt the sensation of being soaked. He opened his eyes and was back in the Dark Ocean world. He fell to one knee and took a deep breath, his eyes returning to normal.
"Dai-kun?" Daisuke heard and looked back to see Hikari with Miyuki beside her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Daisuke smiled before turning to see Dagomon in front of him, frozen in place. "I just needed to take care of something." Hikari reached, "I'm soaked, I don't want you to get wet too."
Hikari frowned before dropping and embracing Daisuke. Daisuke shivered and gasped, looking with eyes wide. Miyuki joined into the embrace. "Hikari-san…"
Hikari spoke gently, "thank you, thank you for being there."
"Hey, it's alright…"
"No!" Hikari said touching Daisuke's cheeks. "No, stop it! You… you did nothing wrong, and I treated you horribly. You did everything right and I got mad at you for it! I'm sorry, okay, I'm sorry."
Taichi and Takeru looked, both feeling guilty.
Daisuke looked at Hikari's watering eyes. "Then what am I supposed to say?" He chuckled, shocking everyone. "Am I supposed to tell you off?"
"I mean… maybe…" Hikari wiped her eyes, "but you're not because you're actually good to me. And that frustrates me right now! I deserve for you to be mad at me! You can yell at me. Tell me I'm wrong! I'm dumb…" Hikari rambled on and kept looking at Daisuke only to see him smile. "You make it hard!" She shoved him as he chuckled a bit, "you make it hard to pretend to be mad at you. Stop it. Be mad at me. Yell at me."
"You know I would never do that," Daisuke affirmed.
Hikari and Daisuke looked at each other in the eye. Daisuke smiled first before Hikari giggled.
"Stop flirting," Taichi couldn't help to comment.
"I waited a long time to see this in person, but we do need to go," Mimi said pointing at Dagomon who began to fade to dust as was the rest of the Dark Ocean.
"What did you do?" Takeru walked over.
Daisuke was silent at first, "I made sure he can't come back." He got up and immediately lifted Hikari up bridal style. Everyone else, but Daisuke's eyes widened. Hikari blushed, feeling Daisuke hold her close.
"What? We can use Digital Force technology to quickly get back to Koushiro," Daisuke pointed out.
"Do you have to hold her, I can hold her," Taichi said defensively.
"No, no," Hikari said, "this is fine. You can take Miyuki."
Taichi frowned as his eyebrow twitched, Yamato pat his shoulder, "I liked it better when she was mad at him." Taichi picked up Miyuki who giggled at his reaction.
"Let's go!" Takeru said as they made platforms to bounce their way towards Koushiro.
There was silence as Hikari looked up at Daisuke, watching him for a moment. He glanced down at her, "something wrong?"
"Am I heavy?" Hikari asked.
"No," Daisuke smiled softly.
Hikari tugged on him, "those eyes… are they… from when you were gone."
Daisuke was silent for a moment, "yes, it's hard to explain, but…"
"I know, you'll tell me," Hikari nuzzled against his head. She heard his comforting heartbeat that soothed her.
"I promise I actually will…" Daisuke held her close.
"I know," she smiled before reaching over to touch his cheek. "Can there be an us after this?"
"Hm?" Daisuke asked as he bounced up.
"Like an us… me and you… again…?" Hikari felt her heart race, she even covered her face with his jacket.
Daisuke smiled warmly, even Hikari could feel it, "yeah, there can be." Hikari smiled wide with her cheeks flushed. "We're almost there."
Hikari glanced and saw the building he was talking about. She smiled softly as she could see Koushiro waving at them. She clutched onto Daisuke, knowing full well he would not let her go or let her fall. He never has when he is around. She couldn't help herself to hold onto him tightly though, he was the one who created her light.
In the Dark Ocean, all began to disintegrate. Something arose, Demon. He grumbled, "I warned you. There will always be a greater darkness. But you never listened. So be it, you entertained long enough..." Demon opened a portal, "now to return to you..."
Ending C
[C]rest of Light
Author's Note: I made this 'fanfic' way back then. And although I didn't want to change much of it. I have gotten better at ideas. So I will give this warning, not so much trigger, but although I never strayed away from this being a fanfic... after this it will get VERY fanfic, may not be for everyone's taste and could be weird compared to where I got to. I will stick to the story, but if you want to consider Ending C the true ending, that is fine to.
