The sun was now fully bleeding through the curtains. It made the dark room shine bright. Hikari laid on top of Daisuke still. She had been awake for a while. At this point waiting for him to wake up. She traced the words 'I love you' and a heart on his chest continuously before gently kissing his chest.
Suddenly she felt him groan a bit. She held on as she felt his shift. She looked up to see him smack his lips before his eyes opened. He blinked a few times before looking down, making eye contact.
"Good morning," Hikari said, and Daisuke immediately kissed her. "Oh, going to really have to get used to that."
"I'll help," he chuckled as she giggled.
Hikari tapped his chest, "am I going to have to convince you to get up or do you need an hour?"
Daisuke took a deep breath, he stared at the ceiling, then at Hikari, "what you got?"
"We both had sex, and both got a bit sweaty and a bit messy. We both need a bath. Maybe we can bathe each other…" She asked tracing a heart on his chest.
"You convinced me at 'sex'," he joked before kissing Hikari on the lips. "We didn't make that much of a mess." Hikari stared before shifting her hips, Daisuke felt something a bit wet and sticky. "Sorry."
Hikari smiled, "we need a sex towel. Miyako-san told me she had one for her and Ken-san."
Daisuke nodded, "I can wear condoms…"
Hikari stopped and groaned, "I mean you can…"
Daisuke raised a brow, "oh is there something wrong with condoms?"
Hikari frowned and said, "I just think birth control are better to preventing pregnancy and condoms are unnecessary…"
Daisuke asked, "are you on birth control?"
"No," Hikari looked up at him.
Daisuke blinked, "oh," he looked up at the ceiling.
Hikari sat up, "is that okay?"
Daisuke chuckled and sat up to, kissing Hikari, "yeah I kind of want another baby with you."
Hikari's cheek went red, and she leaned towards him, "you do? B-Because if you secretly don't. I can…"
Daisuke embraced Hikari, "don't ever go on birth control. I'll get you pregnant in no time."
Hikari embraced him back, sniffling, "I love you."
Daisuke nodded and then said, "come on, let's shower."
The day was passive, but that was okay for Daisuke and Hikari. After sharing a shower, admittedly with less urge for sex. They both essentially took the time putting all of Daisuke's clothes into Hikari's closet. Hikari made sure that Daisuke would never ever sleep in another room alone again as long as they are together.
They went to the nearby convenience store for breakfast. They chatted about Hikari's journey to getting a degree and Daisuke working in the Digital Force.
It wasn't noticeable at the time, but Daisuke grew a bit nervous when the topic of Miyuki came up. She was set to arrive at dinnertime. At one point after breakfast she called, Daisuke could only stare at Hikari talking to her daughter. They seemed to be having a conversation about seeing each other again.
Daisuke lowered his eyes in the instance when Hikari mentioned him. Miyuki and Daisuke didn't get to talk much after the Dark Ocean. He wondered something.
It was noon, Hikari decided to cook a small stew for them both.
Hikari hummed while stirring the stew. The kitchen works great. She commented thankful that Rei fixed her kitchen after the Dark Ocean so quickly. As much as she enjoyed being around Miyako and Hinami. She was so used to having her own food to cook. And now she was cooking for Daisuke.
She kept stirring and suddenly she gasped when feeling Daisuke's hand rub against her ass. She looked back. Daisuke rested his head on her shoulder. "It looks delicious. It feels like something I can eat all day long. Oh and the food look fine I guess," he chuckled kissing her ear.
Hikari laughed and turned to kiss him on the lips. Daisuke assured, "food does look delicious though."
Hikari smiled gently, "you could say I am cooking it with love." She said, continuing to stir. Daisuke's hand rubbed her hip as he kissed her neck. She felt him move away, she grabbed his hand and pulled him back close. "Stay… I always wanted this."
Daisuke blinked with surprise. He slowly smiled and rested his head on her shoulder. Closing his eyes and humming happily.
Hikari now had a permanent smile on her face, it lasted all until the meal was done.
Daisuke and Hikari both sat at the dining table. They were both eating the stew Hikari had cooked up. It was silent at first, Daisuke occasionally broke the silence to compliment Hikari. She of course accepted and thanked him.
Hikari glanced over to see Daisuke had almost finished his bowl. Her lips went to a line and finally asked, "what do you think about Miyuki-san knowing you are her father."
Daisuke immediately spat out some food. He covered his mouth and coughed. He grabbed a napkin and cleaned up. "S-Sorry," he said. Hikari looked concerned, "you want Miyuki-san to know I'm her father."
"Yeah, I mean you are… and I think at this point it would be foolish to deny her knowing."
"Y-Yeah," Daisuke nodded, looking down, "but, what if she hates me?"
"Excuse me?" Hikari raised a brow.
"What if she hates me? I mean what if she didn't want me as her father."
Hikari snorted as she put the spoon full of stew down. She snorted into laughter, confusing Daisuke. She laughed hard as Daisuke blinked, looking in confusion. "Dai-kun, she practically been begging for you to be her father. She saw you in a picture and her eyes glowed. She asked about you when you moved in, and she asked about you constantly. Even if you weren't her father, she chose you."
Daisuke rubbed his arm, "that's different. What if she gets mad at me for lying to her…?"
Hikari still had a smirk on her face, but seeing Daisuke look down nervously. She got serious and reached over to grab his hand. "I lied to her. I told you not to tell her. If she is going to be mad, it's me. And if she gets mad at you, I will ground her." Daisuke looked up, surprised. "But I'm not going to ground her because Daisuke she loves you. She always has. I have been the one denying it. She won't hate you. If I'm wrong, I'll… I'll spend my life trying to make her not hate you. But trust me, she won't."
Daisuke looked down again and then nodded, looking at her in the eye. "I'll trust you…"
Hikari smiled and said, "I'll tell you slow. But you must promise me you won't panic."
Daisuke could only nod, "I promise."
Hikari squeezed his hand and continued to finish her stew. Daisuke notably ate slower, he still finished his plate, but worry was still in his heart.
Hikari watched Daisuke pace around the apartment the closer it got to Miyuki's arrival. She could see it in his face, scenarios were playing in his head. She could only imagine how he must feel. She felt guilty, she did this. She could have easily told Miyuki he had her father on the first day, but Hikari was bitter.
Daisuke didn't fully realize he was pacing around the way he was. As far as he knew, he was just thinking about the scenarios of how Miyuki could respond. What if she asks where he has been? He could barely confess to Hikari, he can't do the same with a four year old girl. What if she doesn't want to see him? He did his best to remember Hikari's words, but it just didn't help as much as he expected. Miyuki can have any response at this point.
And then he froze. He froze when he heard the doorbell ring.
"Oh, that must me my parents with Miyuki-san," Hikari said heading to the door.
Daisuke gulped as he walked to the back of the living room, by the hallways leading to the rooms.
Yuuko and Susumu Yagami both entered, they smiled and hugged their daughter. Then came in Miyuki who ran in and embraced Hikari, "mommy!"
Susumu chuckled, "she been looking forward to seeing you all week long. Apartment looks very cleaned up."
Hikari nodded, "yeah, Gennai and the Digital Force did their best. It basically looks the same."
Yuuko Yagami glanced over and spotted Daisuke. Daisuke realized this was the first time he had met Hikari's parents in decades. He waved as Yuuko said, "oh you don't have to act like a stranger. You can come over here."
Daisuke's cheek went red, but he nodded and began to walk.
"Dai-san!" Miyuki waved at Daisuke, ready to run towards him, but Hikari grabbed her shoulder.
Miyuki and Daisuke's eyes widened when Hikari did so. Yuuko and Susumu looked at their daughter who knelt to face Miyuki.
Daisuke felt himself shake as his lips shivered. He knew what was coming. He thought about how he should walk away in case of the worst-case scenario.
Hikari looked at her daughter, "Miyuki," she said before looking at Daisuke. Miyuki turned too, but then Hikari turned her head to face her. "Remember when you saw my name was 'Hikari Yagami' and you asked why your last name wasn't Yagami and instead Motomiya…"
Miyuki rubbed her chin, "you told me the name was my daddy's."
Yuuko and Susumu gasped when they realized what was happening. Daisuke's hand shook in fear.
"Yes, I did. Well… it is your daddy's…"
Miyuki glanced over at Daisuke a couple of times, "I-I'm sorry mommy, but I don't want a daddy. I want Dai-san." Hikari's eyes widened at this, as did Daisuke, Yuuko, and Susumu. "I like Dai-san! I really do! I want him to be my dad!"
Daisuke's eyes narrowed and watered hearing this.
Hikari glanced at him with a knowing smirk. Miyuki continued, "if my daddy is out there, I don't care anymore. Dai-san is the only one I will see as my dad."
"Miyuki…"
Miyuki shook her head, "a soccer game. Daddy and Dai-san should have a soccer game to see who gets to be my dad." Susumu and Yuuko chuckled.
"Miyuki…"
Miyuki huffed, "I will fight daddy if he doesn't like Dai-san…"
"Miyuki!" Hikari raised her voice, Miyuki covered her mouth. Her eyes were watery with passion to. Hikari sighed and said, "remember how I told you babies are born?"
"Y-You said I will find out when I'm an adult, but that when two people love each other. A baby is born nine months later."
Hikari nodded, "right, well… nine months before you were born. I was in love with someone… his name…" she glanced at Daisuke. "… was Daisuke Motomiya."
When she said that, Daisuke felt like the world slowed down. Miyuki blinked at her mother and then turned to Daisuke. She pointed at him mouthing his last name. Hikari nodded and turned to Daisuke with a bright smile.
Miyuki fully turned to Daisuke who was there with silence. "D-D…" Miyuki started as Daisuke was getting ready for some sort of rejection. "Daddy!' Miyuki began to run towards him with her arms out. Daisuke's eyes narrowed and a smile cracked on his face. He knelt and opened his arms. Miyuki jumped into them.
Hikari stood up with her hands to her chest.
Daisuke held his daughter closely. He closed his eyes and then began to kiss her head. "I knew it! I knew it!" Miyuki cheerfully said. "I knew you were my dad!"
"You did?" Daisuke chuckled.
Miyuki nodded hugging him, "you like soccer like me!"
Daisuke couldn't help but burst out laughing before kissing his daughter on her cheek. "Yup, definitely my daughter."
"I can't wait to tell Aki!"
Daisuke blinked, "A-Aki?" Before he turned to Hikari.
"Akihiro is a boy in her class," Hikari informed.
"Oh boy," Yuuko giggled.
"Like… a bully?" Daisuke asked turning to Miyuki.
Miyuki shook her head, "nope, he's nice. We play soccer at school all the time. He is my friend!"
"Y-Your friend…" Daisuke's eyes narrowed.
"Dai-kun," Hikari walked over as Daisuke pat his shoulder as he put Miyuki down who was still cheerful. "They are just four years old. Aki has been a good friend to Miyuki."
"Yeah… I know…"
"Do you?" Susumu walked over and put his hand on Daisuke's shoulder. "Congrats on being a father. There will only be more boys or girls."
"Yeah," Daisuke was glaring, but smiling.
"No, no, not right now, I promise you will get the chance to chase boys out much later down the line," Yuuko walked over and hugged Daisuke, "but welcome to the family."
Daisuke smiled and then turned to Hikari who said, "see everything worked out. I told you." She said kissing him on the cheek, "and you're not allowed to complain about Aki."
Daisuke frowned before chuckling, he picked up his daughter once more. She hugged him, "complain about Aki? He's a good friend of mine!"
"S-Sure he is," Daisuke sighed, "maybe I should come pick you up in school. I can meet this Aki…" Miyuki nodded before Daisuke silently added towards Hikari, "with a stick."
"No," Hikari giggled. "Oh," she said looking at Miyuki. "That means you have a new uncle and aunt. Yamato Ishida and Jun Ishida are your uncle and aunt too."
"Oh! Yay! They aren't as strict as uncle Taichi."
"Hey!" Yuuko giggled, "and we should one day do a get together with all of Miyuki's family. Ayako and Kanoa included."
"I think we can do that next weekend," Daisuke said.
Hikari's parents left after dinner. It was nighttime and everyone was ready to go to bed.
Hikari and Daisuke laid in bed as they watched Miyuki happily hop in. "Brushed my teeth!" She said before sliding into bed. She immediately embraced Hikari. "I finally have mommy and daddy together." Hikari happily hugged her daughter.
She then felt Daisuke hug her from behind. He snuggled up to her as Hikari sighed happily.
"Mommy… daddy…" Miyuki said slowly finding the ease to go to sleep.
"Yes," both said looking at their loving drowsy daughter.
"I want a sibling…" Miyuki said before cozying up to Hikari, falling straight to sleep.
Hikari was left with wide eyes. She turned to Daisuke who was also wide eyed. They both looked at each other and smiled. "I don't think that's a problem," Hikari said before kissing Daisuke. They both laid down to finally sleep together. To finally sleep like a family.
Miyuki slept with a smile on her face through the night. She finally had her dream come true and finally had her dad. She had her mom and dad who loved each other and her. She couldn't be happier.

Knowledg[E] and Purity
Koushiro looked at the airplane depart from the station.
Karen's words echoed.
Remember, I still do love you, but I guess I want a different path. Hey, don't consider this divorce an end to our friendship. Maybe I can open a Europe branch. I swear to you, I won't hold it against you. I just want a more peaceful life. You deserve to have your adventurous ones. I'll see you around.
It didn't hurt. Koushiro knew it wasn't going to work between him and Karen in the end. There are just too many differences in settling down. He sighed watching her plane leave heading to Germany.
"Take care," Koushiro closed his eyes and turned to exit the train station. Once at the parking lot and heading to the train station, he took out an unopened pack of cigarettes.
"Koushiro-san doesn't smoke…" he heard a familiar soothing voice. He turned to see Mimi across from him, sitting on a bench. "You swore you wouldn't smoke…"
"I… guess I swore a lot of things I couldn't keep," Koushiro said getting ready to take a cigarette out, he stopped when he heard Mimi sigh. He put it away, "why are you here?"
Mimi glanced over, "I was invited to come pick you up by Karen. I was hoping to get to tell her goodbye, but… I guess she gave me the wrong time."
Koushiro smirked, "how is your separation with Makino-san going?"
"Good, he's… being very respectful. He just moved out yesterday and today picked up the final bit of his clothes. An amicable divorce. I wanted children and he… in the end… didn't." Mimi then snorted and laughed, "I used to make fun of Hikari-san for being single. And now, I am divorced. It doesn't feel like I'm divorced though."
"I get that feeling," Koushiro walked over and sat in the same bench. "So children was the reason huh?"
"I want a child, I can't help it. Hikari has one. Jyou has one. Miyako has one. Sora is next… I just didn't want to wait anymore for maybe and ifs. You?"
Koushiro shrugged, "after she got out of the hospital. She wanted to just settle into a calm life. I didn't want to leave Digital Force. It was amicable. We both discussed it. I think she cried once. I don't remember crying. I didn't even become numb. I remember meeting with the lawyers and discussion of the apartment, everything. She didn't want to keep anything that belonged to me and then she told me she was heading to Germany for a time. I told her if I could help her carry the baggage."
Koushiro then took a breath, "I guess it didn't hit me until the plane departed that… it just didn't work out."
Mimi looked at the snowy sky, "do you want children?"
Koushiro nodded, "yeah, two or three."
"What about four?"
Koushiro sighed that broke into a chuckle, "sure, four. Five… whatever my next wants." He glanced over at Mimi who was looking down. "Do you want to settle down and not be adventurous."
"As if," Mimi giggled out, "I love the way my heart races when something exciting happens."
Koushiro nodded slowly, "me too…"
Mimi got up, "I have the urge to go shopping. Sora's baby shower is going to happen soon. Do you want to come to the mall with me. There's a tech store near the mall."
Koushiro got up, "sure," he walked over and grabbed Mimi's hand. The train arrived as both Mimi and Koushiro, holding hands, entered it.
On the bench, Koushiro left behind his pack of cigarettes.
Author's Note: Okay some small explanation. Why the short chapter? Because this was supposed to be part of Chapter 27... well Chapter 27 went a little long and would have not matched, thus split. And why Koushiro x Mimi. Back in 2018, I didn't think about Koushiro and Mimi when I make Karen and Makino... let's just say, one of the smallest, but consistent regrets. Decided to more or less make it official... but to be fair, this fanfic was focused on Daisuke and Hikari so can't blame me haha.
Although I presented 'two' endings, this is not the end of Starful yet.
