Chapter 15: In the Warm Waters

Though Yuki and her friends have classes the next day, Emilia insisted they stay the night after the long and dramatic day they've had. After having a delicious dinner, Hiei was tired the most of all. But, at least now she has to go ahead to marry Yukitsuki. Her mind has been filled with thoughts of their future wedding. Seeing Yuki in a traditional wedding gown from the Dragon Alliance. Anything Yuki wore, she would look beautiful in. Every time Yuki said she wanted to become Hiei's wife stirred her heart and made it flutter. Currently, Hiei is relaxing in a very large bath in the Crystalglove villa. Being a ducal family comes with plenty of perks. Her body is healed and soothed by the warm waters of the bath.

"This reminds me of the hot springs back home," Hiei sighs.

"May I join you, Hiei?" Hiei's head bolts up and she turns to see Yuki walking up to the bath in nothing but a towel.

It's not the first time Hiei has seen Yuki nearly naked, due to the girl's bath at the academy, but it still makes her blush when she sees Yuki, her new fiance, practically naked like this.

"Yuki, I'm sorry! I must've lost track of time. I'll get out now," Hiei stumbles.

"No, don't go. It's fine. The bath is large enough for more than one person after all," Yuki stops her as she steps into the bath herself and sits next to Hiei. "It sure has been an... exciting day, huh,"

"Well, that's one word for it," Hiei grunts.

"Well, I'm glad it turned out well in the end. I knew you could do it," Yuki says, leaning her head on Hiei's shoulder.

"Thank you, Yuki," Hiei smiles.

"By the way, what was that technique you did at the end of the duel? I've never seen that one before," Yuki asks, curious.

Hiei shakes her head, "I was just as surprised as you. That was the first time I ever performed that technique. I don't even know exactly how I did it. It just... happened. I felt exhausted afterwards though. Probably because it was the first time. I just felt a... fire burning within me that wanted to be released. And so, I did. If I want to master this new skill of mine, I'll need to practice and do a lot of training,"

"Well, if you ever need help, I'm always here to lend a hand," Yuki sits up.

"Thanks, Yuki. I really appreciate it," Hiei smiles.

"I'm your fiance. It's only natural I support you," Yuki then moves to straddle Hiei's lap.

"Y-Yuki?" Hiei stutters.

"And as your future wife, it's only natural that I reward you for your hard efforts and comfort you when you need it," Yuki then leans in to kiss Hiei.

"Mmph!" Hiei's words are muffled by Yuki's lips, but she soon succumbs as her eyes close.

Yuki's mother Hikaru and Aunt Yukio taught her about what kind of nighttime services a woman provides to their spouse. They made sure she understood everything she needed to know about that for when she had a relationship of her own. Now, she could put those lessons to work. Yuki's hand slide through Hiei's wet hair, while the kitsune's arms wrap around her body. They would remain like that for a short period, enjoying each other's embrace and sweet lips. Eventually, their lips open up and their tongues enter the other's lips. They dance and wrap around one another. The two girls stare lovingly into each other's eyes. Their face flushed from both the bath and each other. Hiei's lips eventually separate from Yuki's and travel down to her neck, nipping at her skin. Yuki moans as her head leans back so Hiei can have better access. Her eyes fall onto Hiei's ears. She blows on them lightly, making them flutter and Hiei twitch.

"Yuki... my ears... are sensitive," Hiei says in between suckling her soft skin.

Hiei pulls Yuki's head down for a few more kisses. A fire begins to rise with Hiei. A desire. She suddenly picks Yuki up into her arms, forcing the girl to wrap her limbs around her. Hiei turns and gently places her down on the tile behind them. Yuki's feet still remain in the water as Hiei looms over her. Yuki smiles and pulls the towel open, revealing her naked beauty to her love. Even with the scar on her chest, the only blemish on her otherwise perfect skin. Yuki was still absolutely beautiful in Hiei's eyes. Yuki pulls her down for another kiss. From there, Hiei starts trailing kisses down her skin. She goes from her cheeks to her neck, and down her body. She stops on the scar and places slow, gentle kisses there. Yuki moans lowly from the kind attention Hiei gives her. After ensuring the scar received enough love, Hiei moved on to Yuki's chest. One hand reaches up to gently cup Yuki's right breast. Yuki gasps from the touch. Hiei gives it a light squeeze, eliciting new moans from Yuki. Her other hand reaches up to do the same to the other breast. As she fondles Yuki's chest, the ice mage gasps and moans from the treatment.

"They feel perfect, Yuki," Hiei notes.

"Hiei... I'm glad... you like them..." Yuki breathes.

Hiei licks her lips and leans down for a taste. Taking the right nipple into her mouth, she suckles on it like a baby wanting its mother's milk. Yuki arches her back, wanting Hiei to pleasure her more. Her legs slide up across Hiei's ribs. Hiei enjoys the sensation of their skin touching like that. Hiei stops and leans up, "Yuki, did you just..." Hiei trails off.

Yuki nods and braces herself. Hiei places her hand at her entrance. She inserts one finger, feeling Yuki's insides to spread her out a bit more. She then inserts a second. They dig in until they reach the point of no return. Hiei looks at Yuki for one last confirmation. Yuki nods and Hiei pushes forth. Yuki wraps her arms around Hiei and grits her teeth. Hiei lets her relax as she herself comes to terms with the fact that she just claimed Yukitsuki's purity. She never thought something like this would happen.

"Yuki... are you okay?" Hiei asks.

"Yes... I'm fine... You can keep going," Yuki nods.

Hiei takes it slow and pulls out her fingers only to pump them back inside. She keeps the rhythm slow so Yuki doesn't feel more pain. Yuki pushes through the pain at first, but eventually relaxes. When Hiei sees that she's feeling better, she starts increasing her speed and goes deeper. Yuki moans as Hiei's fingers dig inside her. Hiei is enjoying the reactions she's getting out of Yuki. When they first met, Yuki wasn't one for expression. But, over time, she started to grow more and smile more. Seeing her now is truly a special treat for the kitsune. Her thumb ends up rubbing against the bud on top of Yuki's lips.

"Hiei... don't tease me like that," Yuki pleads.

"But seeing you right now... I can't help it, Yuki," Hiei replies.

"Yuki," Hiei replies.

Hiei leans down to kiss Yuki passionately. The ice made wraps her arms around Hiei's head, pulling her in. They would spend a while longer in the bath, making sweet love to one another. That night, the two of them became one.

The next day, Yuki, Hana, and Hiei return to the academy to resume their classes. Yuki already said her goodbyes to her family. Her mother Fuyumi said that she received a new mission from the king and had to leave with the others after her. It's sad that she has to go again after coming back, but that's business as usual for right now. On their way back, Hana smirks at them with a knowing look.

"Why are you staring at us like that, Hana?" Hiei asks.

"Oh, no reason. Just wondering... how was it last night?" Hana wiggles her eyebrows.

Yuki and Hiei freeze upon her question.

"There's no way she could've known... right?" Hiei silently hopes.

"What do you mean?" Yuki asks.

"Oh come on, don't give me that 'I have no idea what you're talking about' routine. I know you two spent a lot longer in the baths than normal. It's not hard to figure out exactly what happened. So, how was it?" Hana winks. Yuki and Hiei blush. She really does know. "Okay, that's enough teasing. It wasn't hard for me to figure out, but I won't ask for any explicit details. I'm just happy you two have gotten so close now. I truly am," Hana says.

Hiei sighs, "Thank you for your mercy, Hana,"

"It's something to treasure; the kind of love you two share. Honestly, I'm kind of jealous," Hanazuki looks out the window of the carriage.

"Hana?" Yuki cocks her head.

"It's not easy, being seen as a monster by just about everyone else. It's different in the Dragon Alliance. There, most people accept the arachne, and my family holds a prominent position in the imperial court. But here, where most of the population are humans, it's different. People like Hiei or Princess Hikaru are safe because their forms are mostly human in appearance, with a few added traits so to speak. But for my kind, where we're more monster than human in appearance, it's different. To the rest of them, I'm just a monster with a pretty face. That's why it's been hard sometimes to find a partner that suits my tastes," Hana explains.

"But what about other arachne back home? And didn't you say that you like both men and women?" Yuki asks.

"I do, but it's a bit more complicated than that. For males, I guess it's more based on instinct than actual affection. The desire to have eggs and birth offspring. Arachne's have children in a very similar manner to normal spiders. We don't have nearly as many young as normal spiders, but the process is somewhat similar. However, while I'm attracted to men as a mating partner, that doesn't mean I'm attracted to them romantically," Han explains.

"So, you prefer women when it comes to having romantic connections, but you also prefer men when it comes to mating and the need to bear offspring," Yuki says.

"Yep, that about sums it up. And considering who I am, that makes having a romantic relationship more difficult to acquire. There aren't that many arachnes in the Dragon Alliance to begin with, and the few males there weren't up to my standards. I don't just settle for anyone. And the women never had any attraction to me, so that option goes out the door too. And you saw how people reacted to me when school started. I've just about given up on the idea of love for myself. That's why I'm jealous of you two," Hana says.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, Hana," Yuki says.

Hana waves it off, "Don't worry about my mess of a love life. Your love life is just starting, so enjoy every moment of it. We never know what the future will have in store for us,"

The girls reach the academy and head off to classes. People quickly notice how Hiei and Yuki are holding hands whenever they're together. It was kind of obvious when Yuki kissed Hiei in front of everyone in the cafeteria. Now, it's definitely obvious. The boys continue to curse their bad luck that the girl they had their eye on prefers the other team. As for the girls, some appear heartbroken that Yuki is now taken, while others are hoping she'll be like Fuyumi and seek more than one spouse.

"Well, it's nice to see you again, Yuki," they look as Sophia walks up to them. "I see some pleasant things happened for you two over the past few days,"

"Yes. Hiei and I are officially engaged. I'm very happy," Yuki smiles.

"That's good. I'm happy for both of you, truly," she leans close to their faces. "I trust you remember our little agreement.

"Look, Yuki is my fiance, but it was her choice to begin with. You two can go together sometime, but I trust you'll keep your hands to yourself, Sophia," Hiei glares at the older student.

Sophia giggles, "Oh, don't worry. I'll be respectable. I'm looking forward to our outing together, Yuki,"

Yuki nods, "Yes. Me as well. We'd better get to class now,"

"Agreed. I'll see you two later," Sophia waves to them as she walks away.

She comes around a corner and her smile drops when she bumps into her older brother, Thorsen.

"Thorsen, always a pleasure," Sophia replies curtly.

"I heard the news. Yukitsuki is engaged to Hiei Mamoriko from the Dragon Alliance. That doesn't bode well for you," Thorsen says.

"Not quite, dear brother. I secured a date with Yukitsuki. I'll have more chances to get closer to her. She already considers me a friend she can trust. I'm performing as Father expected. Besides, who's to say she doesn't have the same tastes as the hero of Anatolia?" Sophia retorts.

"Hmph. Father wants you to figure out her weakness so we can use it against the Crystalglove family, not to go out on dates with those beneath us. Then again, a commoner whore like her might just be perfect for y-," Thorsen stops when he gets slapped in the face. He slowly turns in shock when he realizes that Sophia is the culprit. "Did you just... slap me?"

"You want to insult me, that's fine. It wouldn't be the first time. But watch your tongue when you speak about Yukitsuki," Sophia warns him.

Thorsen's hands shake before he gets really angry and pushes Sophia against the wall, "Don't you dare think you can touch me and expect to get away with it. You are the daughter of a commoner servant who seduced father. You're a whore just like her, except you still have your virtue. You are nothing compared to me, who bears true noble blood in his veins!" Thorsen seethes.

Gone is the calm, cold persona Sophia usually sees from Thorsen. This is the deep rage that he tends to hide beneath. It's not the first time she's seen it, though.

"Just like a child, throwing a tantrum because I have something you don't. Are you that upset over the fact that I have magic and you don't. Or that I am better than you in academics? You don't treasure what you have and only lament what you don't. I can't think of anything more pitiful," Sophia fires back.

Thorsen gets angrier and wraps his hand around her neck, "You truly don't know when to shut your mouth, do you. Father may see some value in you, but I do not. Those of common blood like yourself have no value whatsoever," he tightens his grip.

Sophia starts to have trouble breathing. However, before Thorsen can tighten his grip, a blade's edge rests on his shoulder and he freezes.

"I will only say this once: release her or I will make you," he glances back to see Hiei as the culprit, with Yuki and Hana behind her.

Seeing that Hiei is not joking, Thorsen releases Sophia who gasps for air and composes himself.

"This is a family matter. It has nothing to do with you," Thorsen says.

Hiei sheathes her sword as Yukitsuki steps forth, "That's not for you to decide. Where I come from, we don't treat family like that. Family exists to support each other, not harm each other," Yuki says.

"That's rich coming from you. You're not even your 'parents' daughter. Not even an illegitimate one. Fuyumi Kusanagi picked up from the street out of pity, not love. You have no right to lecture me on family," Thorsen argues.

"Family is not about bloodlines or family names. It's about love and care. I have felt that love. And it has made me strong. You are weak because you don't cherish your family. Leave now and never hurt Sophia again. Next time, the headmaster will hear about this," Yuki threatens him. Thorsen grits his teeth before taking his leave. Yuki watches him go before walking up to Sophia. "Sophia, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, dear. I'm fine. It's not the first time he got violent with me. It probably won't be the last either. He likes to show himself as someone of restraint and being collected, but that's only a mask. I just tore off the mask a moment ago," Sophia rubs her neck.

"Should we inform the headmaster anyway?" Hana asks.

"No, it's quite alright. You all should get to class. Wouldn't want you to be late for class, right? I'll be fine. I'm looking forward to our date, Yuki. See you later," Sophia walks away without looking back so they can't see the tear falling down her face.

Yuki can only watch on, worried about Sophia.
