CHAPTER 3
YOU HAVE GUTS I LOVE IT
After the first match set the tone the students of class 1A have just experienced someone giving their all to win to beat. Both the hero and villain displayed this victorious spirit.
"SO CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHO WAS THE MVP OF THE EXERCISE" All Might said to the class who were stunned by questions "Yes, Ms. Yayorozo," Midnight said, noticing the girl. "Well as much everyone played a key role. Ochaco and Ida share this slot if they are spot on. That being said, Ida played a crucial role in keeping away from the hero. He displayed a level of foresight that anticipated his opponent's possible move and when faced with a sudden change he continued his task of keeping the bomb adapting to a changing scenario. Ururaka also shares that as she is relentless in capturing the target the bomb her partner allowed her to execute while he was busy getting into a fight outside to counter the villain." The deep and thoughtful conclusion stunned the class.
"Wow brains and beauty," Midnight Pounder aloud, " I think you're gonna be my new pet project," the r-rated hero says with a gleam in her eyes. The class could not figure out what this meant for the young heroine. One student however is over the moon by the prospect "This is gonna be great" he said drooling eyes which are then abruptly pulled back to reality by the combo of Jiro's earjacks vibrating his head and Denki bopping his head with an electrical discharge. "That's enough buddy your tough says in your head not hanging out," Denki said, reigning in his classmate.
With That being said All Might coughed getting everyone's attention "All alright newbies because who stunt that ended the first will be moving to building" All Might said as the next group entered the Battleground building. As the day continued the other teams were more tame in execution the exception being freezing a building to win the match. Which was received with praise from his classmates. Midnight observes this and thinks of Todoroki's file. The son of Endeavor not using his flames his file mentions it but he's not using it. He heavy hands only one portion of his quirk. As she thinks she texts Aizawa about this knowing his writing a report based on battle.
"Hey, pencil pop you got the report on endeavors kid," Midnight texted waiting for a response. "I got what's wrong, one of your problem children isn't giving it his all." Aizawa reads, rubbing his face "I'm gonna deal with it while I'm still writing my report on the last batch." Aizawa said hoping he was done talking.
Shoto Todoroki, the son of Endeavor, can use hot and cold. This kid favors his cold half too much. It'll start being a hindrance after a while. He needs to get over hangup and use his fireside soon.
"Shouta Aizawa, how's your new batch of listeners," Present Mic said entering the teachers' lounge. Aizawa just stared at his alumni classmate in disbelief. "My kids wreaked ground beta in the afternoon, two kids with a history, a half measure, and a goblin with social problems," Aizawa said finishing his report. "What's up," Aizawa now gave his full attention "Nezu just got a tip with someone at the support company tampering with the clothes of 1A students. Aizawa shot up fully awake and aware of the situation. "How?! We made sure I made sure this didn't happen again. The last company screwed my wraps and shirt back with the back exposed and they gave Midnight only the black portion of her clothes and nothing else. "Didn't she try wearing it?" Mic said to break the tension.
Aizawa rolled his eyes and continued "We don't know yet but I'm giving you the heads up Nezu is on the phone and wanted me to tell the homeroom teachers." The radio hero with hands up in the air.
Just as it was starting to subside All Might in Small Might form, Midnight behind and Nezu on his shoulder came into the faculty room. "Aizawa go get changed now," Nezu said with a serious tone. This confused the erasure hero if the mouse is angry something serious happened. Midnight, not saying a word, quickly enters the female locker room and immediately takes a shower. "What's happening?!" Aizawa said in great worry and bated breath. "Look at your skin" On Aizawa's wrist a red rash appeared which also caused him to rush to the men's locker for the same reason as Midnight.
Puzzled Present Mic looks "Do I have to change," Mic looks scared because of his friends. "No, have needed to change suits?" Mic replied by saying "no." "That's good we need someone to watch 1A," Nezu said with a fake smile. Mic turned to Small Might by replying "Our hero students, Aizawa and Midnight, have rashes due to suit tampering from a support company." Midnight noticed something was off when she followed the girls back to the locker room. Momo had red marks going up in the back and Mina's sensitive skin had a bad reaction to whatever it was," Nezu said, relying on the recovery girl's early prognosis. "Luckily we caught before 1B began their classes and did an item check on clothes from the support company. Per our outbreak protocol, all clothes related to the incident have been burned, sadly 1A won't have their hero costume for a while." Nezu said, cheering himself up. "I'm gonna enjoy lampooning the company," a sadistic glee appeared on his face from the prospect.
IN 1A CLASSROOM
Deku has been discharged but was instructed to go home due to a mild skin rash. On his way to his classroom to retrieve his books. He saw his classmates preparing to leave. They all like him have skin rashes on their bodies. Kirishima approached Izuku "Congrats on battle training, you acted like a true man." The rock boy holding his hand up for a fist bump. "uh…thanks" Deku said, flustered by the attention. "Yeah, who jumps out of the window to counter an explosion, that was nuts," Denki added with Mineta nodding in agreement. "Yeah, Midoriya, that was too scary, I know I can't pull that off." Mineta said, scratching his head. "you're gonna be a lame hero if you're that scared, kero," Tsu said, looking at Mineta with judging eyes. "That may be true," Jiro said, shrugging her shoulders. "Hey," Mineta snapped back. Jiro ignored and continued "But who else could potentially hard counter Bakugou."
Saying and he appears, Bakugou smashes at the proclamation of being a hard counter. "WHO THINKS THEY HARD COUNTER ME!?" Bakugo getting angry. Momo perked up "Well Midoriya for one but al-," "me" as everyone turned to see Todoroki packing his bags casually. As Blonde approached the scared student Nezu and Present Mic appeared at the classroom door. "That's enough party people, the station is so you need to leave for today," Nezu said, impersonating the Present Mic vernacular. "well that's pretty close all the consider. Now as co-host so elegantly put the situation you young listeners need to pack up tunes and head home." Mic ending showy behavior. " All your parents have been informed of the situation, so head home and scrub down." Present Mic said with a thumbs up. With that, all the students start to leave the campus. Afterward, the School's cleaning robots begin disaffecting the 1A classroom.
As they were approaching the Izuku tried explaining himself to Bakugo about his quirk. Deku a tiny detail about One For All but Bakugo could and continued to walk away a buzz ding in his head as All Might swooped down beside him "YOUNG BAKUGO, YOU HAVE HEART BUT IT MUST NOT BE OVERTAKEN BY PRIDE" Before All Might could continue Bakugo Cut him off "I'm gonna stop you right there All Might my goal is surpass you so whatever you or Deku says it doesn't matter I'll the odds," as anger slowly turns tears Bakugo walks off.
"So, how much did you tell him?" All Might turned to Izuku.
UA Faculty Room
Midnight and Eraserhead are sitting in the faculty room in civilian clothes. "This sucks, how did this happen ?" Midnight said pouting, turning to Aizawa "Maybe villains there have been reports of more villains receiving tools and clothing for their crimes. So it's not far-fetched to have someone tamper with hero clothing." Aizawa said, pondering the possibility of such a dilemma.
Midnight lies stretched out on the couch but after trying to get up something interesting happens as she stands up from the couch the pillow is attached to her back. "Huh must have slept a little too hard" Confusion hits Aizawa as looks up to the entire couch pillow attached back "Very funny Nemuri no could please pull off your pillow armor," Aizawa said in a huff he went back viewing his student hero exercise. "I can't, " said the R-rated heroine. Aizawa in disbelief gets up and walks over "I can't believe having me do this Nemuri." Aizawa is harsh but he is kind to him even if does not show it. Under closer inspection, something raises an eyebrow. As Aizawa tries sandwiching his hand in between the pillow and Midnight's back. "Come on, why is this static so strong?" Aizawa said, struggling to separate the two. With a final pull, Aizawa was able to pull the pillow off. "Finally" as Aizawa drops the pillow. "Thanks, buddy, could you let go of my butt cheek." Aizawa looked confused at this statement as his hand was indeed on her cheek.
This was simply let go but just like Midnight his hand could not unstick. As Aizawa tried pulling Nemuri began to hear tearing. " WAIT, WAIT, WAIT" Midnight yelped out of fear until it happened Aizawa tore the cheek section of her pants. Being that she is the R-rated hero exposure was common but this is her civilian clothes and her favorite pants.
"You sir owe some new pants," Midnight said, turning around to her long-time friend. Aizawa was too focused to be flustered. While deep in thought Present Mic enters the office space. "Hey guys wanna join bef-" Present Mic is stunned at what he sees. Aizawa panics "It's not what it looks like!" Raising the wrong hand to show the torn fabric only solidified Present Mic's headcanon. "Oh, he loves playing rough," Midnight said playing along to sell what Mic I'd thinking. "You're not helping," Aizawa said leaning back to whisper. "Then, buy. My. Pants." Aizawa, caught in a bind, agrees. "Fine!" Aizawa begrudgingly accepted. "Call recovery girl we have a problem," Aizawa says in a serious tone.
In the UA Nurse lab
Nezu and Recovery Girl are good friends both in and out of school hours. Not only do they enjoy each company alongside good tea they also company scientific notes and research on myriad of subjects. Because of this, they tend to stay behind to pull all-nighters when it comes to certain subjects or topics. That being said Recovery Girl takes a vested interest when the student health is at risk. In UA's private science lab, Principal Nezu has been studying the clothing of his students for the past four hours. The rodent notices something strange with biological makeup but his concentration is broken recovery Girl opens the door, "Ah, Ms. Chiyo a pleasure you could join me after hours," Nezu says with a smile on his face. "Oh, Nezu starting early I see did you find anything of note." Ms. Chiyo said with a level of curiosity. "I did but I need a second opinion of what I found" The Recovery girl approaches the glove box containing the remains of Deku's suit. "I take it this ruffle your fur a little bit Nezu," Chiyo said going behind his work to double test the validity. "On the one hand, this is a very fascinating way of transferring the virus I can say with full confidence it wasn't an accident," Nezu's eyes narrow as he looks up "But this is abhorrent what type of villain go out of there to infect a school? What kind of chaos are they seeking?" Nezu's mind fades to lab rat days, all the friends he lost, the torture, and the deep-seated rage against society. These thoughts swirl in the principal's mind until he is brought back to reality.
"Is this even real did you come to the same conclusion as I did?" Recovery Girl said in shock. "This virus was a carrier the skin rash was a mild symptom but their something else here. Wait is that-" Chiyo began looking closer as the doors swung open. "Recovery Girl we have a problem," Aizawa said standing at the door. "Really Erasure Head you must learn how to knock not just barge in-," Nezu was confused not only Aizawa was at the door but also Midnight. "Thank goodness it's after an hour my butt getting cold" As Nemuri says this a cane is thrown across the room. " This is the fifth wardrobe malfunction this year," Ms. Chiyo said sitting in her chair. "Hey, it's not my fault this time. It's Aizawa" Midnight said to get under Erasure Head Skin. "Way to throw someone under the bus" Aizawa can not even care right now. "Interesting," Nezu said tugging at the torn cloth. "I take this wasn't intentional or was it" giving a subtle wink to Midnight. "Principal," Aizawa said twitching in his eyes. "Right, right, Ms. Chiyo if you would" the large screen in the room turned on showcasing multiple genetic markers, DNA, and quirk factors.
Many hours past
"So in conclusion, this wasn't your run of the virus it was specialized and meant to deliver a quirk mutation to the victim. This in turn will slowly modify the victim to accommodate the new power." Nezu said to his small audience of heroes. "This mutation was specifically from that of a genetically altered spider packed with multiple mutations." Nezu said but goes on to continue "But it's not equal after studying multiple suits that will eventually be burned. Some suits contain similar genetic markers with some differences and once we know what we're looking for we begin creating a potential list mutation." Nezu takes a breath as this settles into his audience's mind."All Might anything to add?" Aizawa turns to see a small man seething. "No, impossible I was sure 'he' died that night, and now this can be replicated on mass," as he says this he grows in size to match his anger. Not only did this happen under their nose, but not only did he specifically brush it off as first-day jitters, and his pupil his successor now on top One For All Izuku now has new spider powers coming in.
"When do we tell the students?" All Might said with a glare. "After, the rescue training at the USJ. We'll let them focus on rescuing more so than quirk training we will have more time for that in the two weeks before the sports festival."Aizawa said with Nezu in agreement nodding. "Yes, we will have more time to better understand mutation and it's growing slowly by the looks of it may be permanent," Nezu said looking back at the screen. "Then it's settled let give it our all to help out students."
