When Sophie came home without Ashe and told me she was taken, I lost it! I mean what the hell were they doing! Why was she not being watched and what was Jaxon doing. "TELL ME THIS IS FUCKING JOKE" I yelled, "Josh don't yell okay, I was changing Janna in the washroom, Ashe was with me and when I turned around, she was gone" she said. "That is bullshit! Where was Jaxon?" I asked, "he had a phone call, but he was close by" she said, "Clearly not close enough! She better be okay" I said to her. I was so mad I wanted to throw something, but I didn't want to scare Janna. "Josh please, stop yelling" she said. "I am going to yell if I want too! Our daughter is missing, and you are the reason! There is a threat out there and neither of you could be bothered to watch her!" I yelled, Janna started to cry, and I picked her up and cuddled her, this was so aggravating. Like at this point I didn't even care that Sophie was crying. I wanted my child back and the idiot we hired to watch her was not able to save her. "This was not something we could have known, Jaxon said it was a child that lured her" Sophie said. "I don't care this is crap! We have him for a reason and now she is missing" I said, "he is looking for her right now" she said. "HE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE LOOKING FOR HER! THAT IS MY POINT!" I said, and Sophie cried harder good she should feel bad. I know I was being a dick, but I didn't care, I was so upset. I heard a car in the driveway, and I saw Ashe running inside I hugged her and literally held she was crying. I would cry too if I were her, who knows what they did to her. Jaxon came inside after her, but I never said anything to him, I just glared. This was going to be an awkward conversation. I didn't even know what I was going to say to him, he failed at his job today.
I didn't want to find someone else; Ashe grew an attachment to him in a short time, but something needed to change, and I had no idea what to expect. "Ashe baby, are you okay?" I asked, "I am daddy" she said as she hugged me tighter, we let her watch a movie until she fell asleep, and I carried her upstairs. Sophie had put Janna down, and Jaxon was in the living room. I knew I needed to talk to him, but that conversation was going to get heated, and I didn't want to wake the girls. I walked outside onto the deck, and he followed me, "Josh" he said, "save the apologies, I mean what the hell even happened?" I asked. "She was with her mother in the washroom, I received a call from my father, I had to fill him in on the updates and progress. I was no longer than 2 minutes. I saw her at an exit door petting a dog. I ran to her calling her name she was on her way back to me but was grabbed and shoved into a van. I was so close! I felt her fingertips as the door closed and ran off. I am so sorry" he said. "Fine you brought her home, I am going to try and not overreact here, but like we hired you for a reason" I said. "I know and my father apologizes he told me he would not call me during work hours anymore. We are on the hunt for the people that did this, we have no idea what they are after, but we are figuring it out" he said. "I trust you at least I want too. Ashe is so fond of you and I can't let anything like this happen again" I said. "I will never let anything like this happen again! I am so extremely sorry, and I will not take any phone calls, she will have my attention 100 % of the time" he said. "Alright" I said as we went back inside, I knew getting rid of him was not going to work. Despite the screw up we clearly needed the protection, and he was able to find her quickly. She seemed alright but at this point we had no idea.
I expected nightmares or something similar, and I wanted to be prepared for it, I know right now I needed to go talk to my wife. I am upset with her, but I know she feels bad. I need to stop being such a prick when it comes to this stuff, I am not an awful person, and I love her so much. I walked into our room, and she was curled up on the bed. I sat down and pulled her close, "Sophie I am sorry" I said, "I looked away for 2 seconds" she said, "I know, and she is home safe that is what matters" I said. "Josh, I lost her, and I feel so bad, I don't even know what they want from us" she said. "We don't either, but Jaxon said that his company is trying to figure it out. Sophie we will figure this out" I said. "I am so scared for them, like now I am not sure I don't even want them to leave the house" she said. "Jaxon will protect them love, we can't keep them cooped up" I said, "will he? I mean he didn't" she said. "Sophie, this is no one's fault, and the blame game doesn't get anyone anywhere, focus on the fact she is home and safely asleep in her bed" I said. "Thanks Josh, I love you" she said, "I love you too" I said as I kissed her, and we ended up having sex before I heard a loud scream. I knew the nightmares would come and we both put clothes on and ran into her room. "Ashe baby" I said, "Daddy" she said holding out her little arms and I hugged her tight, Jaxon was outside the door. She cried and I held her, Sophie went to check on Janna, as the scream woke her up, "Ashe I am sorry" Jaxon said I could tell he felt bad, and right now I just wanted Ashe to be okay. "Daddy, can I sleep with you?" she asked, "sure princess" I said as I carried her into our room, Sophie was still with Janna and Ashe curled her little body into me. I hugged her and rubbed her back; this was going to affect her long term and between the 3 of us we were going to need help her get through this. Jaxon, Sophie and I would be there for her, and help her make sure she stayed safe. I knew the idea of another baby was a long way away, I wasn't even going to bring it up as we had enough on our plates. Dealing with the threat after my babies was going to need to be figured out, and I hope Jaxon and his father could figure this out.
