The day after the recording session, Ash, Iris, Brock and Madison were strolling lazily down the streets of Laverre City. They had just taken a long lunch at a cafe, where they spent equal amounts of time eating, talking and people-watching, and they were now each enjoying an ice cream cone as they wandered through the town.
"Man, this city really is gorgeous," Brock remarked. "I'm glad we came back. We didn't get to see it at all the first time around. We can kill plenty of time by just exploring." Iris nodded in agreement behind him, taking a bite out of her chocolate ice cream.
"When did Serena say she would be done?" Madison asked aloud to nobody in particular. Serena had gone out with Shauna and Aria that morning, saying she needed to do some shopping, but she refused to tell any of them what she was buying. The general assumption among them was that she was buying gifts of some sort, but for whom, they weren't sure.
"I don't think she did?" Iris answered, unsure.
"She didn't," Ash confirmed, as he polished off a cookie dough cone. "She said she'd text once she was done with- ghk!" Ash grabbed his forehead, holding it with the tips of his fingers, his eyes screwing up in pain. "Haah…"
"Brain freeze?" Brock asked with a smirk, as Iris rolled her eyes.
"Try rubbing the roof of your mouth with your tongue," Madison suggested, going in for more of her mint chocolate chip. Ash nodded and followed her advice, starting to feel relief after a few moments, while Pikachu rubbed his temple and sighed. As the group approached the Laverre City Gym, they could hear the low rumble of spectators from inside, a rare experience for a gym.
"That's strange," Brock observed. "Is there something going on at the gym? Why are there so many people?" They walked past the door, and he tilted his head to try and get a good look inside.
"Sounds like a battle's happening," Iris noted, doing the same. "You can hear Valerie giving commands to her Pokémon."
Ash took a curious step closer, having recovered from his brain freeze and wanting to confirm Iris's suspicion. Over the clear sounds of a crowd from inside, he could definitely hear Valerie issuing orders to what seemed like her Sylveon. As he turned toward his friends to report back, however, a second voice caused him to stop in his tracks.
"Lucario, use Power-Up Punch!"
He froze, recognizing the voice immediately, his heart practically stopping. "No way…!" He turned back to the gym door and dashed inside, not thinking to say anything to the others.
"Hey! Ash!" Iris chastised, as she and the others followed him inside. They caught up to him quickly as he navigated his way through the crowd, and they slowly worked their way up to one of the spectator platforms. Ash gently forced his way to the edge of the platform, clinging to the rail, grinning with delight as he saw the face of the trainer challenging Valerie. Behind him, Iris and Brock were standing on their toes to get a good look, while Madison had no choice but to squeeze in on Ash's right side.
In the center of the arena, a bipedal, blue-and-black, fox-like Pokémon was leaping through the air, one of his paws glowing orange, toward Valerie's Sylveon. The Pokémon swung his fist down toward his foe, who dodged by leaping backward, creating space between them. On the far end of the arena, Valerie was issuing commands to her combatant, her face showing a mix of concern and enjoyment from the battle. On the other end of the arena was a girl with long blond hair, tied up in a ponytail that stretched down to her waist. The girl was wearing a helmet which her hair was poking through, a white-and-red tank top with matching skirt and black shorts, a pair of roller blades, and a determined grin.
"Who's that, Ash?" Brock asked, leaning in closer and speaking quietly, not wanting to disrupt the battlers.
"It's Korrina!" Ash answered excitedly. "The old Shalour City Gym Leader!"
"Really? But I thought she left," Iris wondered. "What is she doing back here? And why is she fighting Valerie?"
"I don't know!" Ash exclaimed just as excitedly. He didn't care why she was back, or what she was doing in the Laverre Gym. All he knew was that one of his best Kalos friends had returned, and he was getting a chance to watch her battle once again.
"Sylveon, blast him back with Fairy Wind!" The Intertwining Pokémon held its ribbons out in front of its body, forming a large whirlwind in front of itself, which soon erupted into a powerful, circular gust of shimmering wind. The opposing Pokémon stood firm, digging his clawed feet into the ground, fighting against the powerful winds.
"Fight back with Aura Sphere, Lucario!" Korrina commanded, punching the air in front of her. Her Lucario nodded, holding his hands out in front of himself and concentrating. As he focused, a glowing ball of blue energy formed in his palms, and once it was large enough it shot forward like a bullet, battling against the Fairy Wind and winning easily. The attack exploded in Sylveon's face, blasting it into the air and bringing the wind attack to an end. Sylveon crashed painfully into the ground, groaning as it tried getting to its feet. It wouldn't have the chance to stand, as Lucario dashed forward with a glowing, blue, bone-shaped mass of energy in its hand, swinging it at Sylveon like a golf club. Valerie's Pokémon skidded across the arena and eventually rolled to a stop at its trainer's feet, a dazed expression on its face.
"Sylveon is no longer able to battle!" the referee declared, holding a flag up in Korrina's direction. "Lucario wins the battle, and challenger Korrina wins the match!"
The crowd erupted into cheers and applause, Ash louder than any of them, as the current and former Gym Leaders met in the middle of the battlefield. They shook hands and exchanged words that nobody could hear, before Valerie reached into her sleeve and pulled out a Fairy Badge, handing it over to her opponent. Korrina slipped it into her pocket as the two girls continued to talk, and spectators began to file out of the gym.
A minute or so later, the skater bid a fond farewell to Valerie, after promising to spend some time catching up at their earliest opportunity. She turned back toward her Lucario, giving him a big hug and words of praise, before the two of them began walking toward the exit. As she started to leave, a loud voice calling her name drew her attention. She looked up toward one of the spectator stands, and her eyes lit up as she spotted a familiar black-haired trainer with a Pikachu on his shoulder, both of whom were waving at her.
"Ah! I don't believe it!" She beamed and waved back at him enthusiastically, before pointing toward the exit door. He nodded, understanding, and turned around to make his way outside again, remembering to tell his friends to follow him this time.
Stepping out of the gym and onto the sidewalk, Ash looked around quickly and impatiently, wondering if he had somehow beaten Korrina outside. As Iris emerged behind him, followed by Brock and Madison, he cupped his hands to his mouth and called out her name. He was rewarded by a familiar voice responding in kind.
"Ash!" He turned to his left, grinning as he saw Korrina skating toward him at a high speed, holding out one of her hands. He did the same, standing in place, and as she approached the two shared a powerful and thunderous high-five, one that echoed through the streets of Laverre City.
"It's great to see you again!" Ash exclaimed happily, taking a moment to rub his now-stinging hand. "We thought you were gone! When did you get back?" Pikachu leaped off of his shoulder and ran up to Lucario, who was standing a few feet behind his trainer; the Aura Pokémon kneeled down and began an animated conversation with his old friend.
"Just a few weeks ago!" She wheeled herself around to face him again, looking down to meet his eyes. Korrina was several years older than Ash was, and was closer to Brock in height, especially with her roller blades on. "What about you? How long have you been here? I didn't think I'd see you in Kalos again!"
"I've been here for months! I'm working to challenge the Kalos League again. I've got five badges so far already."
"Hey, nice work!" She grinned at him, before a lightbulb went off in her head. "Oh! Have you seen Serena yet? I saw an article about her in the Lumiose City paper."
"Yes! She's been traveling with us all this time!" Ash responded. "She's not here right now, but I know she'd love to see you!" A few moments later, his brain managed to make a broken connection, and he took a step back to gesture toward his friends. "Oh, these are my friends! This is Madison, Iris and Brock." He gestured toward each of them in turn, wanting to be polite, even though he was dying to know more about Korrina's absence and reappearance.
"Nice to meet you!" Brock extended his hand, which Korrina shook. "Seems like Ash has made friends with basically everyone in Kalos."
"Ash told us you're a former Gym Leader?" Iris asked, seeking information as she shook Korrina's hand.
"Yep," Korrina confirmed. "Former and future Gym Leader." She leaned down to greet Madison as well.
"Future?" Ash's eyebrows raised. "You mean you're going to be a Gym Leader again?"
"That's right!" She nodded, standing up fully and clenching her fist. "I'm going to be taking on leadership of the Shalour City Gym again soon." She rested her hands on her hips. "Siebold's putting up a fuss about it, but I'm not giving in. He can keep having his water festivals and whatever, but the Tower of Mastery belongs to my family. That's where I'm supposed to be."
"Good! Don't let him win!" he encouraged. "You were a great Gym Leader! You've got to get your gym back!"
She grinned wide and nodded in agreement, as Madison spoke up. "If you're a Gym Leader, why are you collecting Gym Badges?"
"Well, I'm not a Gym Leader yet," Korrina answered. "I won't be back at the Shalour Gym until after the Lumiose Conference, at least. Until then, this might be the only chance I have to compete in the Kalos League, and I'm going for it." Her eyes returned to Ash. "So you had better make it all the way, got it? It's got to be you and me in the finals!"
Ash's confidence shone brightly in his eyes. "Don't you worry about that. I'll give you a battle you'll never forget!" The two trainers were practically giddy, already reveling in their newfound rivalry. It was hard to find two trainers in Kalos that loved Pokémon battles more than these two.
"So, uh…" Brock stepped in. "If you don't mind me asking… why did you leave the gym before?"
Korrina sighed, some of the wind leaving her sails. She wasn't eager to talk about her own shortcomings, but if it was to Ash or his friends, she was less hesitant. "I don't know… I just felt like I was… stuck in place. All the people around me were going places and doing new things, and the trainers coming to the gym kept getting stronger, and I just… wasn't. I felt like I was stagnating, like I was wasting my potential." It was a carefully curated subset of the truth, the full extent of which was too embarrassing for her to reveal.
"I'm sorry, Korrina," Iris offered sincerely. "I know what that feels like."
"Yeah…" Korrina nodded before continuing. "Then, a couple years ago, a friend of mine from Galar invited me to become a student and train on the Isle of Armor. It sounded like just what I needed, so I arranged to hand over the gym and I left for Galar." A smile spread across her face. "I just got back a few weeks ago, and I feel great! I feel ready to take charge of the gym again."
"I've never heard of the Isle of Armor before," Ash responded, trying to recall the name coming up during his journey in Galar. "What sort of stuff did you learn there?"
"Well, instead of telling you…" She grabbed a Poké Ball from her waist and held it out in front of her. "How about I show you?"
Ash could barely contain himself. This day was getting better and better.
Soon, the group of five were gathered around the closest outdoor battlefield they could find, in a nearby park. Ash and Korrina stood on opposite sides of it in the trainers' boxes, getting themselves psyched up, which was not difficult for either of them. Iris was standing by the side of the arena to officiate the match, having won a game of rock-paper-scissors with Brock. The other two stood off to the side, closer to Ash's side of the field, while Pikachu and Lucario stood with their respective trainers.
"I hope you're ready, Korrina!" Ash taunted, reaching for a Poké Ball on his belt. "I've got a whole new team of Pokémon here with me! I can't wait for you to see them!" He hurled the ball onto the battlefield. "Drapion, I choose you!" Korrina watched as the large scorpion-like Pokémon emerged, ready for action.
"You're not the only one with new Pokémon!" she retorted, tossing out her own Poké Ball. "Kubfu, let's go!" Everyone's eyes were on Korrina's Pokémon as it emerged, taking the form of a short, grey bear cub with a band of white fur around his forehead.
"Oh, look at it! It's so cute!" Madison squealed, holding her cheeks. Ash took a moment to size him up before pulling out his Pokédex for more information.
"Kubfu, the Wushu Pokémon," the machine reported. "If Kubfu pulls the long white hair on its head, its fighting spirit heightens and power wells up from the depths of its belly." He stored the Pokédex again, thinking that this Pokémon didn't look particularly strong, but he knew better than to make assumptions.
"Alright, you two!" Iris called out informally. "The battle begins… now!"
Ash stepped forward, wanting to cut off Korrina to get in the first attack. "Use Toxic! Poison that Kubfu!" His Pokémon opened its mouth, spraying a stream of purple liquid in the direction of its opponent. Korrina watched calmly, having waited for Ash to make his move.
"Dodge it, Kubfu!" The bear cub nimbly leaped away, easily avoiding the poisonous liquid. Drapion tried to chase the Pokémon down, but it was no use; Kubfu was much too agile to be hit from such a distance. After a minute of this, Drapion had to stop, needing to restore its poison reserves.
Korrina's eyes flashed, sensing an opportunity. "Now, rush in with Dynamic Punch!" Kubfu sprinted forward with impressive speed, closing the gap in no time. He reared back one fist, which began to glow orange, and rammed it into the side of Drapion's head, staggering the scorpion Pokémon.
"Counter with Night Slash!" Ash commanded. As Drapion's head reared back, one of its claws glowed purple and swung into Kubfu's stomach. Korrina's Pokémon flew backwards, easily knocked around due to his meager weight, but he managed to flip around and land on his feet.
"Good job!" Ash encouraged, already feeling energized. "If Toxic doesn't work, hit it with Poison Sting!" Drapion growled and opened its mouth, spitting out a wave of purple needles. Kubfu tried to dodge, but the needles were too fast and spread out too wide, and several of them managed to hit their target. Ash clenched his fist and ordered another round of Poison Sting, as Korrina decided to take a different approach.
"Get in close and use Close Combat! Dodge as many needles as you can!" Her Pokémon dutifully obeyed her command, running back toward Drapion, leaping and rolling to avoid as many needles as possible. Korrina knew there was a good chance Kubfu would be poisoned, but with such small needles, it wasn't likely to be a severe poisoning. She would just have to end the battle quickly.
As Kubfu closed the gap, Ash grew wary. "Back away, quick!" The command didn't come in time, and Kubfu began to pummel Drapion's face and neck with punches and kicks, doing considerable damage. The barrage continued for ten long seconds before Kubfu had to back away, catching his breath; Drapion had to do the same, its breathing more labored.
"You're doing great!" Korrina encouraged. "Follow up with Brick Break!" Kubfu nodded, raising one glowing paw and preparing to chop down on his foe's head.
"Drapion, use Scary Face!"
As Kubfu crouched down to jump, Drapion brought its head back down and glared a horrific glare, its eyes wide and frightening, its jaws open and dripping with toxic venom. Kubfu staggered backward, spooked, and the glow faded from his paw as he briefly lost his nerve.
Ash smirked, wanting to see the expression on Korrina's face, but refusing to take his focus away. "Now hit it with Night Slash!" A glowing claw once again knocked Kubfu away, and this time he landed on his back instead of his feet. As he tried to get back up, Drapion leaped at him with an X-Scissor attack, its claws slamming into the ground and holding the Pokémon firmly in place.
"Kubfu, no! Get out of there!" Korrina pleaded, taken aback by how quickly the tide of the battle had changed. Her Pokémon struggled to get free, but he found his strength sapped, a light purple color visible on his face. The poison was taking effect, and even though it wasn't much, it was enough to give Drapion the edge.
"Time for some serious damage! Use Crunch!" Drapion gave a low and menacing hiss as it opened its mouth, its large, pointed jaws glowing a bright white. Before it could chomp down, Korrina's voice cut through the air, confidence coursing through it.
"Counter it with Iron Head!" Kubfu closed his eyes and focused, and the fur on his head began to grow stiff and hard as iron. As his opponent lunged forward to bite down, Kubfu swung his head at Drapion's mouth, smashing into its teeth. Drapion squealed in pain and immediately backed off, one of its claws moving to its mouth.
"Oh no! Drapion, are you alright?" The confidence immediately fell away from Ash's face, as he tried to assess the damage and calm his Pokémon down. Korrina was smirking, certain now that the battle was already won.
"Let's seal the deal, Kubfu! Use Focus Punch!"
Her Pokémon reached up and grabbed the white tuft of hair on top of his head, giving it a firm yank. He clenched both of his fists tightly, feeling a rush of energy and adrenaline, as his right fist started to glow blue. Once he had stored enough energy, he stepped forward and swung with all his might into Drapion's head, hitting it with a powerful uppercut. Drapion's head snapped backward, where it hung awkwardly for a few moments, before the Pokémon's legs gave out and it collapsed to the ground.
"Drapion, no!" Ash exclaimed, running up to the edge of the trainer's box on the battlefield. Iris ran over as well, getting a good look at the blank expression in the battler's eyes, before she raised one hand in the air.
"Drapion is no longer able to battle!" she announced. "Korrina and Kubfu are the winners!"
Ash ran out onto the battlefield, kneeling next to Drapion and lifting its head, looking into its eyes, hoping that his Pokémon wasn't hurt too badly. Kubfu stood in front of Drapion, placing his closed right fist against his open left palm, and bowed respectfully to his opponent for a battle well fought. His rei was interrupted as a pair of arms scooped him up and hugged him tightly.
"That was great, Kubfu! You gave it your all and never gave up!" Korrina praised. Her Pokémon was startled, but soon let out a defeated and annoyed sigh, having a much more serious demeanor than his trainer.
"You really have been working hard!" Ash returned Drapion to its Poké Ball and stood up, smiling wide despite his defeat. "Not like I would expect any less of you."
"Thanks, Ash! Same to you." Korrina grinned. "Now I'm really looking forward to a full battle between us. I need to make sure I get the rest of the Gym Badges I need." She reached down and grabbed Kubfu's Poké Ball, tapping the Pokémon and sending it back to its temporary home. "So what's next for you after this, Ash? Where are you going from here?"
Ash shrugged, as the others gathered around them. "We were just going to kill time until Serena was done with her errands, then we were going to get dinner." His eyes shone. "You should come with us! I bet Serena can't wait to see you!"
"I'd love to! I have to go talk to some League people on the phone after this, but after that sounds great!" She cocked her head slightly. "But I was thinking more about where you were going after Laverre City. What are your plans?"
"Oh, right." Ash rubbed the back of his head. "After this, I'm going to go after my next Gym Badge in Anistar City. Madison has a showcase there, too." He gestured toward the younger girl, who gave a meek but polite smile, her hands behind her back.
"Anistar City?!" Korrina's eyes sparkled as she clenched her fists in front of her. "That's perfect!"
"It is?" Iris spoke up. "Why is that perfect?"
"There's going to be a double battle tournament there in about a week!" she explained energetically. "I was trying to find a teammate who could enter it with me. You and I should partner up! The two of us would dominate the competition!"
"Whoa, really?!" Ash felt her energy spreading infectiously to him. "That's a great idea! That will be great practice for my Pokémon. Count me in!"
"Awesome! Thank you so much, Ash!" The two of them shared an eager fist bump, both of them already planning battle strategies in their head.
"If you're going to Anistar City, too, why not travel with us?" Brock offered, mentally adjusting the food supplies he needed to buy to manage a sixth companion.
"I can't," she sighed. "I still have to spend a couple of days in Laverre City, to hammer out details of the gym handoff. I'll take a bus and meet you guys there." She took a step back. "I have to go get some things done, but I'll catch up with you guys later! I'll call you when I'm done!" Ash and Korrina had traded phone numbers on their way to the battlefield; after Iris had given him a hard time about not staying in touch with people, he was doing his best to make more contacts.
"Great! See you then!" Ash waved at her as she started skating backwards, and she did the same before turning around and dashing off, Lucario by her side.
Ash sighed happily as he lowered his arm. "Wow… I can't believe how lucky we were to run into Korrina here. What a great afternoon this was."
"Afternoon?" Brock looked down at his watch. "It's only been about thirty minutes. We've still got plenty of afternoon to go."
"Oh… heh. Right." Ash smiled sheepishly. "So I guess we still have some time to kill, huh?"
"There's plenty of stuff we can do here," Madison piped up. "I think the Pokémon Fan Club is close by. We could start there."
"Sounds good to me," Iris added. "Let's see if we can get there before Ash runs into any other long-lost friends."
"Hey, come on," Ash spoke up to defend himself, as the group started walking again. "That's only happened, like… seven times." The others laughed as they continued on toward unexplored parts of the city, as Ash reached for his phone to text Serena the news.
Hours later, the group of four were standing and sitting around a set of benches near the edge of a park, waiting for Serena's arrival. Both Serena and Korrina had separately texted Ash to tell him that they were all done and ready for dinner, and now they were waiting for the former to join them, while the latter had picked out a place to eat and was waiting for the group there. Brock and Iris were seated on one bench, glancing at their phones, while Madison was standing nearby and doing the same. Ash was standing on the sidewalk, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet, moving slightly to stay out of the way of passersby.
He glanced down at his pocket as he felt his phone ringing, reaching down and grabbing it, stepping forward as a stocky businessman walked past him. He figured it was either Serena, telling him that she was running a bit late, or Korrina, wondering where he and the others were. Instead, when he fished his phone out of his pocket, he saw that the call was from a number he didn't recognize. He accepted the call and brought the phone to his ear. "Hello?"
"Hey! Is this Ash?"
"Yes…" He furrowed his brow, recognizing the voice from somewhere, but not quite identifying it. "Who is this?"
"It's Byron!" the voice answered. "What, you don't recognize me?"
"Byron?!" Ash exclaimed, causing the others to look toward him. "Wait, how did you get this number?"
"I'm resourceful," Byron replied, not going into any more detail than that. "Hey, listen. Where are you right now? Are you anywhere near Anistar City?"
"Uh, yeah…" He took a second to gather his thoughts. "We're in Laverre City now. We'll be in Anistar City in about… five days?"
"Good," came Byron's reply. "I'm hosting a big fancy shindig at my place in Anistar next week, and you're officially invited. It's gonna be great, you'll love it."
"Wow, really?" Ash took a step back as a bespectacled schoolgirl walked in front of him. "Thanks a lot! Can my friends come, too?"
"Sure, why not? The more the merrier. Get there by Wednesday, alright?"
"No problem!" he eagerly agreed. "This will be great! I've never been to-"
"Alright, it's settled. See you then," Byron interrupted, before he hung up and the line went dead. Ash stared at his phone for a moment, bewildered by Byron's lack of manners, before collapsing into a sitting position on the bench, next to the schoolgirl, who was glancing at her own phone.
"That was Byron?" Iris asked, seeking confirmation as she looked over at him. "What did he want?"
"He just invited us to a party," Ash answered, still staring at the phone. "At his house in Anistar City."
"Really?!" Madison spoke up, excited. "We get to go to a billionaire's party at a mansion?!"
"Yeah, sounds like it," he replied. "I guess this is…" He paused for a moment, noticing that the schoolgirl had scooted closer to him, and her knee was now touching his. He scooted a bit further away, as Pikachu glanced at the girl curiously from Ash's shoulder. "I guess this is his way of paying us back for the Battle Chateau?"
"Hey, I'll take it!" Brock chimed in. "It's not often you get to go someplace like that. I wonder what his house looks like?"
"I wonder what sort of people are going to be there?" Iris added. "A party like that is probably going to be a who's who of Kalos celebrities."
"Yeah, I didn't even think about that." Ash grinned, imagining himself among those people, wondering if he might see any champions or Elite Four members. "Man, what a day this has…" He stopped himself again, as the schoolgirl had once again inched closer to him, her knee once again touching his. He slid further away from her, now sitting on the edge of the bench. "Um… do you mind?"
"Mind what?"
"Mind…" He drifted off, instantly recognizing the girl's voice. His eyes snapped to her face, taking her in for the first time, as she looked back at him with a grin on her face. She had long blond hair that reached to the middle of her back, and wore a pair of round, blue-rimmed glasses on her face. As soon as Ash saw her eyes, however, he knew exactly who she was.
"Gah! Serena?!" He reflexively jumped up from the bench, shocked almost into a panicked state. Everyone else turned to look as well, gasping as they came to the same conclusion, as the girl laughed.
"I walked past you guys three times!" Serena insisted, her grin spreading from ear to ear as she stood up. "I was certain one of you would recognize me, but none of you gave me a second glance!"
"Whuh… but…" Ash was paralyzed with confusion, not sure which of his hundred questions to ask first.
"What happened to your hair?!" Madison blurted out, her eyes following the honey blonde strands of hair down Serena's back.
"They're extensions!" Serena ran her fingers through her hair, brushing it back; it looked convincingly real. "It took a while to find my color, but they look perfect, don't they?"
"Is that like a disguise?" Brock stepped forward for a closer look. "Is this what you were shopping for?"
"That's right." She nodded. "It was Aria's idea. She has her own disguise that she uses when she goes out, so she doesn't get mobbed. She told Shauna she should get one before her video goes live, and I went along, too. I already get recognized enough as it is."
"Man…" Ash's eyes took in Serena several times, frequently focusing on her face. "Now I don't know how I missed it. When I look at you carefully, it's obvious." He started to feel guilty for not recognizing her.
"But you didn't. That's the point." She smiled back at him. "It's not supposed to make me unrecognizable. It's supposed to make you not look at me too closely. It lets me blend in."
"You sure did blend in." Iris grinned and stepped closer, taking a closer look at the hair extensions, having transitioned quickly from perplexed to amused. "I'm pretty sure I looked right at you once and didn't put it together."
"I noticed! I was trying really hard not to laugh." Serena's eyebrows shot up. "Do you think Korrina will recognize me? Should we try it?"
Ash laughed. "Let's try it! She's waiting for us now!" The group of five started traveling further into downtown, hungry and ready for a delicious dinner, each of them making their own predictions on how Korrina would react when they arrived.
