Team Phantom except for Jazz was anxiously waiting for the bell to ring to end school for the summer. They were staring at the clock just like in High School Musical 2 thinking Summer… Summer!
It was ten minutes until school ended for the summer and it was absolute torture! Well, anything that was school is torture, am I right?
Finally, after ten minutes the bell rang. We all rushed to get out of the school. Who would want to stay for longer than needed at school? Sure it has gotten better with Mr. Lancer gone, Principal Ishmaya on probation, and the A-Listers disbanded and banned but it is still school.
Anyway, after cleaning out our lockers we walked outside and Sam said
"Hey, why don't we hang out in the hideout? It is just about finished and it is free of our parents."
I thought that sounded like a great idea and by others chiming in their opinions the rest thought it was a good idea too. We all walked to the hideout to hang out. We were all wearing our summer clothes since it was late May and was getting warm. We had to layer because we have scars and we didn't want people to question, why are there so many scars. Sam wore a purple button-up and a cream tank top with very lightweight cargo-looking paints that Star introduced to all of us, which we all wear. They were green and black plaid pants. She wore black mesh tennis shoes. She hides her ecto gun with the invisibility feature I recently invented. Tucker's dreads were pulled up in a ponytail and he was wearing dark green polo with a rust-red button-up shirt with no collar tan pants with brown combat boots. I wore a white button-up with a black shirt and blood-red pants with red mesh tennis shoes. Jazz started wearing for the summer with a navy blue tank top and button-up with black yoga pants that are cropped for a professional look and oxfords. Star wore her normal shirt with dark blue shorts because she had to fade all her scars due to her parents' wishes and dark blue mesh tennis shoes.
Finally, we were at the hideout. We all went to the living room and started arguing about what we wanted to do first.
Tucker said, "I want to play video games."
Sam said, "I want to go outside."
All this eventually led to the famed meat vs plant argument. Me and Star weren't paying attention. I mean why pay attention to an argument that we have both memorized if we could look into each other's eyes and cuddle? So Star was on the side facing the inside of the couch with her head on my chest and I was running my hands through her hair and scratching her head like Jazz liked when Mom would do that for her. Star started smiling more and cuddling closer.
After about twenty minutes the argument was still going strong but neither of us was inclined to stop it. They could work it out on their own. Star's eyes started to close and mine did too. Next thing I knew Sam and Tucker woke us up by shaking us saying
Sam: "Hey sleepy heads. It is time for dinner. We let you two sleep."
Tucker: "Star, my parents would like to meet you. Do you guys want to eat dinner with my parents?"
Star: "Sure I would love to."
I said, "That sounds nice."
Sam: "Are there any vegetarian opinions?"
Tucker: "Yes."
Sam; "I am in."
Anyway, it was time for dinner so we all walked to Tucker's house. It took about twenty minutes to get there. Tucker's mom came through the door and said
"Hello, this must be Star. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Foley."
"Call me and my husband Maurice and Angelia."
"Ok."
We were all led into the warm and homely home. We were all led into the dining room which was recently painted mustard yellow with cream trim. We all sat down and started to eat. There were sticky rice balls with mango and sticky rice with chicken with a sauce similar to the orange sauce from Panda Express.
The food was amazing and we all cleared the tables Angelia urged us to go up to Tucker's room and have fun. We all sat around and chatted until curfew then we all walked home. I still had to go home some nights just to alleviate suspension from my parents, much to the displeasure of the rest of Team Phantom.
The next day Star texted me saying "Hey I have something to tell you. Meet up at the park at 10:00 am. See you soon." I was worried. I got dressed and hurried over there since it was 9:30 and I didn't want to mess my hair up while flying. I got there around 9:55 and I looked around. She ran up to me with an excited smile.
"Come on Danny! You can't tell anyone about what you are going to hear and see. Can you do that?"
"Yes."
I followed her and on the Pavilion were Batman and Black Canary! Even as a hero myself I couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated. These people had done this for years.
Batman broke the silence by saying "Hello Danny Fenton also known as Danny Phantom. I would like you and Star Waller to join our Team, they do the recon type of missions that the Justice League can't do."
I had to think about it. It sounded like more work, I could barely keep up as it is. But maybe another team would help me. I decided to risk it.
"Sure, can you guys help me if there's an emergency here? I feel one is going to come soon."
Batman said "That works. We can talk about it more later."
Star said, "I would love to join."
We were now a part of the Team. On Monday we would meet everyone. I am tired of trying to be an adult. I haven't been a child in years. Maybe this is a change for some more childhood. I can only hope because I am not sure I can take much more.
