Class 1-A
"……Yaomomo, you traitor!"
"I'm so sorry, Midoriya-san! I believe you would be a better fit as the class president!"
"I want nothing to do with this!'
"I'm so sorry!"
Izuku's eyes twitch as he sees Yaomomo, who doesn't look sorry despite her words sounding genuine. Her amused smile with the aura of innocence surrounds her making Izuku unsure if she's either genuine or lying. It's like Javier when he tries to lie to the Angels in the Celestial realm, but worse because he's more unskilled in seeing through lies.
To make it worse, the others seem to find his situation amusing and simply laugh at his expenses. Izuku lowers his head in defeat before collapsing into the table, while Hackmon pats his back. And it didn't help that Izuku couldn't stay mad at them.
"Come on, Midori-bro!" Eijirou chuckles. "It doesn't sound too bad,"
"Not if I had to control a class where Bakugou of all people is the student," Izuku deadpan as everyone stopped laughing and winced.
"… Okay, that does sound bad," Kaminari comments before Tsuyu lightly elbows him.
"Bah, fine." Izuku sighed, giving up on giving up his Class President position. "I guess I'm the only one who can deal with him,"
"Sorry for not thinking it through," Iida says as he bows in apology.
"Don't be," Izuku sighs before looking at Yaomomo. "Also, it would be nice to have help. I…wasn't exactly popular enough to be Class President in my old school."
"Well, I was homeschooled, so I am in the same position," Yaomomo says. "Perhaps, we both could learn together how to manage our job?"
"Sure, that would be nice," Izuku says, returning his smile to her. Ochako can't help but feel her stomach slightly twisted as they start to discuss things that might be needed for their position. Tsuyu, noticing this, leans closer to her.
"You know, you could've just sought that position in the first place, or maybe offered him help?" Tsuyu says bluntly, causing Ochako to get flustered before lightly pushing her away.
"Yeah, Uraraka. Go do it, I'll support you!" Hagakure exclaims teasingly.
"Will you two stop!?" Ochako exclaims.
"Sorry," Tsuyu says, but her face doesn't show any sign of remorse. Hagakure didn't bother to apologize as she was sticking her tongue out at her, based on her body posture.
"So…" Kaminari, who's beside Eijirou, nudges him. "What's this about Midoriya and you or Uraraka?"
"W-what!?" Eijirou exclaims as his face turns red slightly before lightly elbowing his friend. "Can you not? Besides, I doubt he will, I mean look at him and Uraraka,"
"He didn't exactly deny it when Tsuyu asked ~," Kaminari says with a sly grin causing Eijirou to blush before covering Kaminari's mouth with his arms. Iida can't help but be exasperated by them talking about such things behind their friend's back while Koda pats his back in sympathy.
Meanwhile, Harumi stares at Izuku while narrowing her eyes. She can't help but be suspicious when she senses immense pressure coming from Izuku during the evacuation. She had seen that kind of power display but she can't remember from where. She's still annoyed at how Izuku having a much easier time making friends, wondering how he gained confidence out of nowhere with no explanation.
As for Hanzo, he continues to silently stare at Izuku curiously, hiding his disbelief as he remembers the display of a power that wasn't supposed to exist in this world, Haki. And out of nowhere, the main character suddenly awakens the rarest power of all, Conqueror's Haki. It was very obvious from the pressure and students fainting. The question is how it can't be OFA, so is it his quirk? Does that mean this is a complete alternate universe?
"All right, get back to your seats everyone." Aizawa walks in and turns around just to see that everyone is already seated and Hackmon decides to stay in Izuku's Digi-vice. "…good, you have learned. Now, there's going to be an announcement for today."
'Eh?' Izuku, Hanzo, and Harumi unintentionally thought in unison, not expecting another change in the timeline.
"… We're going to have a new extracurricular by Nedzu's order," Aizawa states, causing everyone to be curious. "Those who bother to read the curriculum should know that Hero Course wasn't supposed to join extracurricular, but after what happened yesterday, Nedzu has chosen to change it. You can come in now,"
SLAM!
"Hello!" Izuku's eyes widen in horror as he hears a familiar voice. "It's nice to see you all." A short old man walks into the class, holding his cane as he walks slowly.
"This is Gran Torino, a retired old pro who used to teach in the U.A. as a homeroom teacher for heroics. He will take over the only extracurricular that Hero Course could join, Combat Training." Aizawa states dully as Gran merely smiles, acting innocent. "So, for today, there won't be a lesson, and you all will get a free trial along with Class 1-B."
"Woohoo!" Some of the boys and girls of the class cheered as Izuku silently gulped, being the only one who noticed Gran's expression morph from a smile to sinister.
'Oh, Buddha, tolonglah kita….(Oh, Buddha, help us all….)'
Gym Gamma
Izuku can be seen walking to the gym building along with Aizawa, Gran, and the rest of the U.A. students while adjusting his support equipment. Because of what happened yesterday, he's putting on his Gym uniform along with his support gear, much to his dismay. Izuku looks at his friends and can't help but hold his wince, making a mental note to visit the Support Course after this and no more delays. He will not let Yaomomo and Hagakure walk around with such terrible Hero costumes.
As they all entered the gym, Izuku saw a group of students standing on the field along with Vlad King, waiting patiently. One of the students, the one with red spiky hair he once saw from the entrance exam, notices us and gets Vlad's attention, making him turn around and perk up.
"Ah, you all finally here." Vlad King says as he looks at the group. "Class, this is the Class 1-A, your sister class. I bet none of you have ever met face-to-face, right?"
"It's only two days," Aizawa says in a dull tone.
'But, then again, no one is trying to meet Class 1-B…' Izuku thought before noticing the spiky-red-haired boy approach him with the most genuine smile he had ever seen.
"Hi! I'm Kenshi Takechi of Class 1-B! It's nice to finally meet a fellow hero course student!" The boy, Kenshi, greets him as he extends his hand. Izuku has dealt with so many unknown characters for these few weeks that he's become numb to it, so he just accepts that the timeline is a completely different one, stopping his thoughts from going overdrive, and just shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Izuku Midoriya of Class 1-A," Izuku says as the boy brightens up.
"Oh, you're the one who got first in the entrance exam!" Izuku's eyes widen as he looks at the rest of Class 1-B start to whisper to themselves. "This is cool!"
"Y-yea…" Izuku nervously said before letting go of his hand. Izuku's mind starts to think about the student in front of him. His innocence is genuine, but it unintentionally hides his strength. From the grip alone, Izuku could feel the strength from him.
'Good, you're become better at sensing enemy after training using Observation.' Kudo states and Izuku can't help but be confused about it. 'You may not notice, but your training involving Observation wasn't always work shown by how many times Gran Torino kicked your ass. So, your senses and reflexes were more developed along with your Observation.'
'Huh…' Izuku looks back at the student excitedly talking with a spiky black-haired boy with a headband (Awase), another student with spiky black-haired (Kaibara), and a silver-haired boy (Tetsutetsu, Eijirou's twin).
"All right, everyone! Pay attention!" They all turn their attention towards Vlad King as he gains everyone's attention. "Today, both Aizawa and I call the Hero Course here because we want to introduce you all to the only extracurricular that Hero Course could join, the Combat Training! So, after some discussion, we….admit that despite you all having strength and control over your quirks, the majority of you didn't know how to fight properly. So, we introduce this extracurricular for you all to learn how to do so."
'Well, this is completely new, but not unwelcome.' Izuku thought.
"And for today, we're going to have a trial, an experience of how this course will feel," Aizawa says dully. "For today, you all shall fight Gran Torino."
"….eh!?!?" Everyone exclaims in utter shock, while Izuku and some others seem to turn pale at this.
"Wait, we fight the old man!?" Mina exclaims in shock. "But, is it even okay?"
"He may be a retired pro, but he isn't a hero without a reason," Aizawa says before looking at Gran Torino.
"… What time is it?" Everyone except for some students faces fault at his words. To everyone's surprise, Bakugou charges in and tries to explode Gran's face. This action alone horrified everyone.
"Bakugou!" Class 1-A all shout in shock and horror.
"What the hell!?!" Class 1-B shouts in a similar tone.
"Guys!" Izuku shouts, getting their attention. "He missed!" This causes everyone to look at him in confusion. Izuku's eyes glow red before raising his now-blackened hand to block an incoming dive kick, sending him back for several feet. Immediately, several blurs can be seen moving around the students as they all let their guard up.
And….well, the rest is history.
One Massa-, I mean, Battle Later
"…" Izuku winces at the bruises on his cheek and gut as Gran lands on the ground safely. Izuku can't help but be surprised that besides him, Hanzo, Kenshi, a girl with orange hair (Kendo), a boy with long black hair (Rin), and Todoroki remain standing up but look worse to wear. The 6 of them are the only ones who remain standing up with bruises all over their bodies.
"Well, this is quite a surprise," Gran says with a chuckle. "6 of them remain standing? I say I must've lost my touch."
The sentence alone made everyone in the room, those who were conscious or not, shiver in fear. This made Gran chuckle lightly, muttering 'I still got it' under his breath.
Crazy bastard.
'God, that's a massacre…' Banjo mutters in horror.
'Thank you, Captain Obvious,' Izuku deadpanned before letting out a tired sigh. In an instant, the 6 of them collapse into the ground simultaneously, making Gran laugh harder.
"….No wonder Nedzu hired him…" Vlad comments, completely horrified. "They're both crazy!"
"…." Aizawa hearing Vlad's comment starts to get slightly scared and finally realizes why the rat chose that old man of all people. Gran brushes off the dust on his clothes before grabbing his cane.
"I'm going to be blunt, with some exceptions, you all suck!" Gran exclaims, making everyone slump down.
"Gran Torino, that was too harsh!" Vlad says in disbelief. "It's only their third day!"
"Bah, that doesn't excuse them from being sucks! None of them have any self-defense training! I feel like bullying little kids just for candies!" This feels like a metaphorical anvil crushing them with its sheer weight alone. "All of them wish to be a hero, yet they did nothing to improve their fighting skill!"
Izuku tried his best to not react to his words, but that stings a lot. He was like that, for 10 years wallowing in self-pity, easily giving up when Bakugou and his cronies discouraged him to not improving himself, desperately seeing approval from others instead of trying to show if he deserves the approval and only focusing on studying. If it wasn't for his memories of his past, he would be the worst performing student, too focused on imitating All Might, treating the quirk like it's a special gift to think of a solution properly, among other things.
He's just lucky, very, very lucky, and it hurts to think about it. His strength? He was very lucky to encounter All Might and become his successor. His Haki? He unlocks it by pure luck, from the exam and his memories. It sucks, and he hates it.
'Kid, you're overthinking it,' Izuku was surprised at how Kudo, of all vestiges, chose to talk. 'You are right, you are lucky. Everything you got is out of luck. But, what's the point of luck if you choose not to use it to your advantage? You are lucky to gain that information from your past lives, but what's the point if you didn't use them? You are lucky to unlock Haki, but what's the point if you didn't try to seek help to improve it? Don't think too much about it. You have done well taking advantage of that luck. Just like the old saying 'Never look at a gift horse on the mouth.' And you did well to follow that advice.'
'… Thanks,' Izuku feels a bit relieved as the teachers place a table with paper and pen on it. Everyone blinks in confusion before Gran slams the table.
"Those who want to join the extracurricular, sign here! Once sign, come to Gym Gamma every Friday, starting tomorrow!" Gran exclaims. Izuku, without hesitation, reaches towards the table and signs them. Gran grins widely as he looks at Izuku.
"So, it isn't enough to receive a daily beating every morning?" Gran taunts as Izuku scoffs.
"One day, you'll regret that, senile old man," Izuku says, taunting back as Gran's grin grows wider.
"…..HOLD ON, YOU KNOW HIM!?!?" Everyone, including Vlad, exclaims in disbelief.
"Yup," Izuku says in a deadpan manner.
"AND YOU COULDN'T SAY ANYTHING EARLIER!?!" They all yell in unison.
"…..there's no way I'm going to be the only one who was caught off guard by the old man's acts," Izuku says in a blank tone, making Gran laughs. Vlad glares at Aizawa, who looks clueless at why Vlad glares at him.
"YOU BASTARD!!!!"
Later
Hallway
"…" Izuku blankly walks to the Support Course as Ochako, Eijirou, Kaminari, Tsuyu, and Tooru continuously poking Izuku while giving him an annoyed pout. Iida, Yaomomo, and Koda could only watch while sweatdropping. Ever since the revelation of Izuku knowing Gran Torino and choosing to keep the information secret, the 5 of them haven't stopped showing how annoyed they are.
"Okay, okay!" Izuku had enough and pulled their fingers away from him. "I'm sorry okay? Now, will you guys stop poking me?" His answer is nothing but a pout on their face, which Izuku retaliates with a deadpan stare.
"Okay, I think that's enough." Yaomomo and Iida pull them away from Izuku. "I know you all are annoyed, but I think it was enough for him."
"Thank you…" Izuku let out a sigh.
"You're still not off the hook, Midoriya-san," Yaomomo says as Izuku sighs again.
"I know," Izuku says as they all finally reach the Support Course. Izuku looks at the giant door of the lab before he uses Observation to sense any possible danger. As Eijirou tries to reach the door, Izuku instinctively pulls him away and pushes everyone away.
"What are-!?" Hagakure was immediately cut off by a huge explosion that destroyed the door and shattered the window. Izuku's Observation senses another figure flying out of the lab and Izuku rushes before they can fly out of the window. Izuku looks at who it is and lets out a sigh.
"H-Hey, Izuku-san," Miles says as he tries to calm himself. "T-thanks for saving me."
"Yeah, so what's going on?" Izuku asks in confusion. He has his suspicion, but he would rather not start to point fingers in accusation.
"W-well, there is this one student," Miles sighs as everyone approaches them in worry.
"Hatsume! For the last time, I ask you to be careful!" Izuku hears a man shout from behind the smoke.
"Sorry!" A girl says eccentrically before walking out of the smoke, revealing to be a girl around their age with pink dreadlocks (Hatsume), noticing Izuku and his friends. "Oh, Power Loader sensei! There are people outside! And Tails is outside."
"WHAT!?!" In an instant, a man with armor that reminds Izuku of an excavator (Power Loader) rushes out. "Prower-san, are you okay!?"
"Y-yeah…" Miles says while rubbing the back of his head. "It was thanks to Izuku-san that I'm okay."
"I-I'm glad…" The man sighed in relief, causing Izuku to pity the man. "Oh, you guys must be the Hero Course. How can I help you?"
"Uhm, Power Loader sensei," Yaomomo raises her hand, getting his attention. "My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, and here are my friends. We would like to discuss regarding adding Support Gears for our Hero Costume,"
"Support Gears!?" Hatsume exclaims excitedly as she grabs Yaomomo's, Iida's, Tsuyu's, and Kaminari's hands. "Haha! You come to the right place! Come on, I'll show you the babies I made!"
"B-babies!?" They all exclaim in unison, completely baffled by her words before she pulls them into the lab.
"Hatsume!" Power Loader shouts but is ignored, making him let out a tired sigh. Izuku, Ochako, Eijirou, Hagakure, and Kouda stare at them, unsure how to react while Miles groans in exasperation. "I'm sorry about that…"
"Yeah…" Izuku decided to give the poor man a break by not thinking too much about it, despite the possible dangers his new friends could face with Hatsume.
"All right, so you want to add support gears for your hero costumes, right?" Power Loader asks as they all nod. "Good, please list down the requests. I would let you all go in, but-!"
Boom!
"…." Everyone blankly stares at the lab as more smoke comes out of it. "….yeah,"
"…I would like a pair of grappling hooks, better protective headgear, and a blast-resistant suit, please." Ochako meekly says.
"Maybe something that could cover my upper area without having my quirk tear them off and durable enough to tank hits like my clothes?" Eijirou says unsurely.
"Okay, I'll see what I can do," Power Loader comments before looking at Hagakure and wince. "Oh, right. I remember you requested a suit made out of DNA-coded fabric."
"Y-yeah…" Hagakure says nervously.
"We…might take a longer time, your hair remains invisible," Hagakure let out a groan before pulling a vial with…nothing there? And she gives it to Power Loader.
"My friend gave me this so the hair will remain there," Power Loader gives an apologetic look as he nods in gratitude before looking at Koda.
"I…I would like a voice amplifier, and….maybe some blunt weapon….l-like baton?" Koda says softly as Power Loader nods and writes them down. He then looks at Izuku.
"Well, I have my list here," Izuku says as he pulls out his notebook out of nowhere, and pulls out a note he slips in it before giving it to Power Loader.
"All right, then. I shall immediately work for it. Also, Miles, you will not return to the lab. You need rest," After saying that, Power Loader walks back to the lab, shouting at Hatsume before another explosion occurs. This makes everyone outside wince again.
"That…is interesting…" Izuku says as everyone gives him a deadpan look. "….yeah, who am I kidding, it's chaos there." He then looks at Miles.
"So...might explain why you overdid it again and miss your lunch again?" Miles froze before looking at Izuku as he narrowed his eyes. Miles can't answer as he gives the older boy a sheepish expression as Izuku starts to scold him.
"I-Izu-kun acts like a big brother, it's adorable," Ochako exclaims with a giggle as Eijirou can't help but be amused, especially when Izuku didn't even realize he acts like one and Koda finds the moment adorable.
Later
Midoriya Household
Izuku can be seen entering the apartment, completely exhausted after everything that has happened. After getting the rest of his friends away from Mei, he, Eijirou, Ochako, Hagakure, and Koda drag them infirmary. And to Izuku's surprise, it was completely crowded.
It was filled with students who got trampled during the evacuations, students from Heroic Course after Gran Torino's massacre, and now, those who got involved with Hatsume. Eri and Himiko helped Recovery Girl, but they were completely overwhelmed, so Izuku and his friends decided to help. It takes a lot out of them, and the rest of the hours pass like a blur. Everyone was just too exhausted to do anything more and they went separate ways to immediately get some rest.
Izuku blinks when he feels his phone, now a Digi-Vice, vibrating in his pocket. He immediately pulls it out before Hackmon pops out of it.
"Ah, Hackmon!" Izuku widened his eyes, realizing that he had forgotten his Digimon Partner, and cursed himself for being forgetful. "I'm so sorry, I…I had no excuse…"
"I hear everything from the Digi-Vice, Izuku," Hackmon says as he reassures his partner. "It's okay…."
"No, it's…not," Izuku says sadly as he pulls Hackmon into a hug. "I'm sorry…."
"I'm not mad," Hackmon says as he nuzzles Izuku's cheek. "Besides, I have nothing to do besides staying by your side."
"It's still isn't right…" Izuku says.
"Well, how about we just talk, after a shower and dinner?" Hackmon suggests as Izuku smiles a bit.
"Sure, why not," Izuku opens the door before blinking owlishly as he sees Yagi and his mom sitting on the living room couch and talking. As he closes the door, both adults stop and turn to see Izuku, their faces look like deer on a headlight.
"Um…." Inko stutters as Yagi covers his mouth and lets out a few coughs. Izuku and Hackmon blankly stare at them as blushes start to appear on the two adults.
"I-Izuku….I…" Inko is unable to say anything as Izuku can't help but be amused.
"So, All Might, don't you think you're skipping too many steps? Like, really? Already in my mom's apartment without a single date?" Izuku says in a teasing manner as both start to turn red.
"I-Izuku!" Izuku can't help but laugh slightly before walking into the room and then, into the bathroom. Inko simply huffs as Yagi simply chuckles nervously.
"Don't be mad at the boy, Inko-san," Yagi says as Inko sighs.
"I can't ever be mad at my son, Toshinori-san," Inko says. "But, I….I can't help but worried….about him,"
"Worried?" Yagi asks curiously.
"Toshinori-san, Izuku remembers his past life, and how he died," Inko says quietly, making Yagi widen his eyes. "I…I'm worried, because….h-he can't talk about it to anyone…..h-he can't go to a therapist to let them help without them thinking he's crazy, h-he can't talk about it to his classmate….I-I'm scared….for him,"
"…." Yagi could only stay silent, his worried expression was very clear. Inko is right, such a thing isn't something he can casually talk about, and at the same time, no one could help him properly. Both adults remain silent, their heart hurt as they have no idea how can help the boy.
After a while, Izuku walks out of the bathroom in his plain dark green shirt and dark blue shorts as Inko and Yagi look at him in worry, which doesn't go unnoticed by Izuku. Hackmon walks out of the room and hops on his shoulder, wondering what happened.
"Mom? Yagi-sensei? Why….are you guys looking so worried?" Izuku asks.
"Izuku….I…?" Inko is unsure how to mention it, but it seems that Izuku knows what she's worried about.
"….it's about what I said yesterday, isn't it?" Izuku asks as they all nod. "….can I have dinner before I talk about it?"
"O-oh, right!" Inko immediately rushes to the kitchen and starts to prepare food for everyone. The 4 of them are on the dining table as they eat. It…was slightly awkward for them. After finishing their food, they all sit at the table, all looking at Izuku.
"… there are so many things I would like to talk about," Izuku says with a sigh. "…..I….I'm worried, I'm very worried. I…oh, gosh…I face three robbers, one of them has a gun and shot me in the back," Inko let out a horrified gasp. Even after hearing it for the first time, it never stops horrifying her.
"I….it was painful, but…..another thing that I'm more concerned about is…my family. Are they okay? D-did they survive? If so, how do they feel towards my death? I-it's been 15 years. T-to make it worse….I…..I forgot about them, for 15 years…" Izuku starts to sob, wiping off his tears but the tears continue to flow out of his eyes as he starts to tremble, but he stops as Inko immediately rushes and pulls Izuku into a hug, sobbing on his shoulder as she tightens her hug.
"Izuku….." Inko admits. "I'm sorry….y-you had to go through all of that….I….I don't know what to truly say to make you feel better…I…can't truly understand how you feel...b-but I can listen….I can listen to what you say….and if you don't want to talk, I….I will sit beside you….I'm here for you…."
Izuku's lips tremble before returning his mom's hug, silently sobbing. Yagi remains there, watching silently as they interact. For a moment, they let go of each other as Izuku gave his mom a sad smile.
"T-thanks…mom…" Izuku says as Inko returns the smile. He then looks at Yagi. "I…I'm sorry, Yagi-sensei,"
"Don't be….I understand…" Yagi says with a smile. "I….am not fully understand how….you feel about your…"
"Death. Don't need to sugarcoat it, sensei…" Izuku says as Yagi merely nods.
"...death, but….I can understand how you feel about losing someone…." Yagi says. "You…know about Nana, right?"
"Yeah…" Izuku nods.
"….you can always talk about them….whenever you want…" Yagi says. "Like what your mother said….I am here…no, we are here...to listen..."
"T-thank you…" Izuku says softly before Hackmon hugs Izuku.
"L-like I promise….I'll lend an ear…" Hackmon says while trembling. Izuku nods as he hugs him back before taking a deep breath.
"I….would like to talk about them now….i-if you guys don't mind right now…" Izuku says as the three of them nod.
"Of course…"
To be continued
