Now they're reliving Percy's childhood at Camp, complete with prophecies and world-saving. And living life as an actual demigod, with the threat of dying any possible moment, is much harder than it seems on text.

When you hear "Percy Jackson universe," you'd think you'd end up somewhere cool like Camp Half-Blood, hanging out with demigods or, at the very least, somewhere around the time of Hercules. Nope, not me. I got sent so far back in time that even Hercules' parents were probably still swiping right on each other in Olympus.

Percy Jackson is a bastard. Literally, of course, but he's inexplicably benevolent and altruistic to the mortals and satyrs and nymphs who don't matter and scornfully hostile to the important gods who do. He is exactly like Aeneas, Paris, Pelias or even the whoreson of her husband, who still prances around on his little island with his millennia-old lion pelt.

Percy dies. In a strange white room, he learns that he is being sent to another world where he would be free from all the death and destruction of being a half-blood. What could go wrong?
